Lil Uzi Vert Will Avoid Jail Time In His Felony Assault Case Thanks To A Plea Deal

Lil Uzi Vert will avoid jail time in his felony assault case that occurred last summer. The bizarre incident also involved rapper Saint Jhn and Lil Uzi’s ex-girlfriend Brittany Byrd. According to TMZ, at the time of the incident, Saint Jhn, Brittany, and others were having a meeting about a business project at Dialog Cafe in West Hollywood. Lil Uzi soon arrived and confronted everyone at the meeting. He tried to punch Saint Jhn, but missed and fell to the ground, which led to Lil Uzi’s gun falling out of his pocket. After Brittany approached him, Lil Uzi allegedly hit her and pushed the gun into her stomach.

The assault left Lil Uzi with three felony charges: assault with a firearm, criminal threats, and domestic violence. He was also hit with a misdemeanor for carrying a loaded firearm, but due to a new plea deal, Lil Uzi will skip out on jail time. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, he pled no contest to felony assault with a firearm and misdemeanor injury to a girlfriend. As a result, he was sentenced to three years of formal probation, one year of treatment for mental health and substance abuse, 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling, restitution, and a ten-year criminal protective order.

Lil Uzi Vert Returns To Twitter With Tweets About Bleaching His Skin

Philadelphia rapper >Lil Uzi Vert has been away from Twitter to start the year but his return has brought some disconcerting thoughts. While he’s often quick to tweet some funny observation or troll his friend Playboi Carti, his new tweets have promised some unsettling changes. His first tweet back read, “Bleaching my skin need umbrella,” and shortly after posting it, he changed his profile picture to a photo of dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, who famously tried to lighten his skin with “cake soap.”

He also tweeted about not remembering anyone, warning followers that he might reintroduce himself to them. “Oh yea announce I don’t know a person on earth @ all,” he wrote. “Brain been itchy. … so if you know me and I reintroduce myself don’t get offended. Thank you so much signed Boop.” He clariifed signing his name Boop, explaining, “Only thing I can remember is my grandma calls me Boop.”

Uzi’s well-known for trolling — tweeting and doing odd, attention-grabbing things like piercing his forehead with a massive pink diamond — so there’s no telling what he means by all this. Perhaps this is just his way of passing the time while preparing to release his upcoming album, The Pink Tape.

Roddy Ricch Said He Called Out The Grammys For Snubbing Lil Baby And Lil Uzi Vert

As one of the few younger rappers who has been recognized by the Grammys recently, Roddy Ricch has more of a relationship with the Recording Academy than some of his peers. At the 2020 awards, Roddy was nominated for a whopping six nominations, including nods for both Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year. Anyone who has followed the conversation around the Grammys and hip-hop over the years knows that they haven’t always gotten it right in the past.

During an appearance on Kevin Durant’s The ETCs Podcast last week, Roddy told KD that after his 2020 nominations he was “tripping” on the Grammys for snubbing a few of his peers. “Uzi is like, like when I was talking to the Grammy’s ‘y’all ain’t nominate Uzi for [Best Rap Album],’ I was tripping on them,” he remembered. “Even like Lil Baby, y’all ain’t nominate Lil Baby? Like I’m tripping, cause it’s like everybody got their own lane, and it should be spoken about, talked about more because I feel like the n——s now that’s doing shi* like, no disrespect, we really breaking barriers.”

In the year where Roddy received all his nominations, the projects from Uzi and Baby that would’ve been eligible are Lil Baby’s My Turn and Lil Uzi Vert’s long-awaited release, Eternal Atake, which were both released in 2020 as well. In fact, Baby’s My Turn was the best-selling album of 2020 (!) — even beating out Taylor Swift’s Folklore.

Roddy also told KD that instead of competition, he feels like it’s more of a collaborative vibe within the new cohort. “I feel like it’s more for sure more a collaboration because we run into each other more,” he said. “But I feel like everybody got their own lane, everybody got their thing they do, you know what I’m saying?”
