LeBron James has expressed a desire for the NBA to bring back the Christmas jerseys that briefly existed in the early 2010s. “This was amazing!! . I do wish we had Xmas day uniforms across the league still. Wonder why it stopped. ,” LeBron wrote on Twitter. The Lakers veteran was responding to a throwback post about the jerseys. It’s unclear why the NBA has stopped doing Christmas jerseys. However, the discontinuation likely came about as a result of the league focusing on more league-wide initiatives, such as the City Edition jerseys.

LeBron is in action on Christmas Day, as the Lakers play the Celtics. The team recently snapped a four-game losing streak thanks to a 40-point performance from LeBron against the Thunder. “We needed this win. We didn’t want to end the road trip in a losing effort. To come in here to play versus a team that’s been playing extremely well throughout this season, it was a big win for us,” LeBron said after the game. The Lakers are now 16-14 and hold the 9th seed in the West.

Bronny James, Son Of LeBron, Continues College Slate

Meanwhile, Bronny James, LeBron’s son, has continued his tentative start to his freshman season at USC. Bronny has now appeared in three games, two losses, and is averaging 16 minutes off the bench. His production has been slow – averaging 5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1 assist a game. Next up for USC, following the Christmas break, is a Pacific Northwest road trip. First up is Oregon on December 28, followed by Oregon State on December 30. USC is projected to finish second in the Pac-12, behind Arizona. However, the Trojans have struggled immensely in the non-conference slate.

LeBron James Wins 1st-Ever In-Season Tournament MVP As Lakers Beat Pacers In Championship Game

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers in the championship game of the NBA’s new In-Season Tournament at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. With the win, the team became the first-ever winners of the tournament, while James took home its first Most Valuable Player award.

In the game, James recorded 24 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists across 35 minutes of play. He hit 10 of his 21 field goal attempts. Reflecting on the tournament after the win, James explained to ESPN’s Malika Andrews that it was important for him to give the winning experience to the younger guys on the team, as well as help them earn the $500,000 victory bonuses. He also took the time to praise Anthony Davis, who finished with 41 points and 20 rebounds.

Of the tournament MVP win specifically, James added: “I don’t think it’s even about the MVP, it’s about us coming together to win this thing. This is the [inaugural] in-season tournament. … Records will be broken, but one thing that will never be broken is to be the first to do something. And we’re the first champions of the in-season tournament, and nobody can ever top that, and it’s great to do it with a historical franchise and just a great cast of funny, engaged, competitive men over here.”

LeBron James spoke at length about America’s continued inaction about gun control after three people were killed in a mass shooting on the campus of UNLV. “It just goes back to what I said before about guns in America. I think it’s such a longer conversation, but we keep dealing with the same story. This same conversation every single time it happens, and it just continues to happen. The ability to get a gun, the ability to do these things over and over and over, and there’s been no change is literally ridiculous. It makes no sense that we continue to lose innocent lives, on campuses, schools, at shopping markets and movie theaters and all type of stuff. It’s ridiculous. The fact that we haven’t changed anything — it’s actually been easier to be able to own a firearm. It’s stupid,” LeBron said.

LeBron’s comments came from a press conference held just three miles from the Lee Business School. LeBron and the Lakers were in Vegas ahead of the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament. In a separate statement, the NBA announced that they would hold a moment of silence for the victims before Thursday’s games. Across the country in Ohio, Dayton cancelled its Wednesday night game against UNLV due to the shooting.

More details have emerged about the shooting that rocked the suburban campus of UNLV late Wednesday morning. The suspect has not been named. However, he is believed to be an academic who recently unsuccessfully applied for a position at the college. According to a source who spoke with the Associated Press, the suspect had most recently worked at East Carolina University. Per the official police timeline, the man opened fire inside the Lee Business School around 11:45am local time. He was later killed in a shootout with police detectives outside the building.

While casualties were not initially reported, police have now announced that three people have died as a result of their injuries. Furthermore, a fourth individual has been described as being in “critical but stable” condition. Despite the semester winding down, police said that numerous students were congregated outside due to the building’s proximity to the student union center at the time of the attack.

Anthony Davis had a game-high 28 points for LA, while LeBron finished the night with 16. With the win, the Lakers improved to 12-9 on the year. LeBron James Blasts NFL For Suspending Photographer Involved In Tyreek Hill Celebration

LeBron James has come to the defense of a photographer who was suspended by the NFL for participating in a Tyreek Hill celebration earlier this season. Kevin Fitzgibbons, a friend of Hill’s, had his NFL credentials revoked after Hill used his phone as part of a celebration against the Panthers. “Man, this is F’d UP!!! Hill was penalized by the NFL for “using a prop” in his celebration. Meanwhile, as reported, Fitzgibbons had his credentials revoked for the rest of the season.
