Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre Share “Gorgeous” Featuring Jhene Aiko Ahead Of “Missionary”

On the eve of Halloween, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre formally announced the release date for their first album in over three decades, Missionary. Fans of the D-O-double-G can and the iconic West Coast producer to drop their body of work on December 13. The album is available for pre-save and pre-order, and it will boast 15 tracks with a heaping helping of features. It’s a wild guest list with Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, and Sting being the most left-field names. However, there are plenty you would come to expect, such as Eminem, 50 Cent, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Jhene Aiko.

Speaking of which, the airy R&B vocalist’s track, “Gorgeous,” is out today. The lead single features that West Coast vibe that you come to expect from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Overall, they sound just as in sync as they did when they worked on Doggystyle in the mid-90’s. Aiko’s vocals soar on the chorus, but they aren’t overpowering. It matches up perfectly, because he’s bringing his well-known laid-back verses to the table here. The cover art (and album artwork) is a tell-tale sign of what to expect at least on “Gorgeous,” as Snoop Dogg and Aiko express their sexual desires. It’s fine and catchy way to start the full-circle celebration for this legendary duo and you can check it out below.

Jim Jones Embraces The New York Drill Scene Alongside Fivio Foreign, Dyce Payso, & Keen Streetz On “Cinema”

Prolific Dipset rapper Jim Jones is going to be wrapping up 2024 with a new album. It’s looking like it’s going to be a movie because him and Fivio Foreign are here with “Cinema.” The lead single also features Dyce Payso and Keen Streetz. There’s no true confirmation if this going to be a collab tape with the New York drill stalwart, but it’s sure being billed that way to some extent. Jim Jones shared a post to his Instagram announcing At The Church Steps, saying, “First single off my up comin album “At Th Church Steps.” “Cinema” ft @fivioforeign_8fs @dyce_payso @keenstreetz_
Let the 4th quarter begin. Album loading.”

Fivio was in the comments of that unveiling, hyping up the track as well as the album. “Oh yea it’s movie time 🔥🔥🔥” Again, this is all speculation. But given that this track is a mixture of New York drill and some Jersey club, we wouldn’t be shocked if this was a Jones and Foreign tape. Everyone does a great job matching each other’s energy, which is through the roof by the way. The track creatively flips Future’s hit “March Madness” by pitching down the watery keys and slowing them down. There are also some dirty guitar riffs that add some extra character and grit to the club beat. Overall, Jim Jones has a winner with “Cinema” and hopefully the rest of the album will be one too. Right now, we don’t have any further information on At The Church Steps, but we will keep you all up to date when we find out something new. For now, stream “Cinema” below.

Summer Walker Teases Upcoming Album Again With Complicated Relationship Cut “Heart Of A Woman”

Summer Walker has been in the background more since her sophomore album, Still Over It. That was a 2021 project and a sequel and follow-up to her studio debut Over It back in 2019. She does have her 2023 CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP. But overall, she’s been assisting mostly in that period. 21 Savage, Bakar, Sexyy Red, Hunxho, and USHER have been beneficiaries. But in the month of October, the Atlanta, Georgia product is focused with getting back on the solo tracks. This weekend, Summer Walker has delivered “Heart Of A Woman,” her second single from her upcoming third LP, Finally Over It, which all but signifies the conclusion to what will now be a trilogy.

This series has focused on the difficulties of getting over past flings. Given the title and the content of “Heart Of A Woman,” though, Summer appears to be done with the games. This single was teased on October 11 via “+1(404) 476-6404.” It’s a voicemail of a man that she’s still dealing with, and he’s confessing his love for her amid their issues. You can hear the chorus of “Heart Of A Woman” playing in the background and it seems like they will be placed next to each other on the final tracklist. On “HOAW”, Walker is looking to end the relationship. But she’s clinging on for some reason, despite her growing disdain for him. It’s a painful but beautiful listen, as her vocals gingerly glide over the lowkey instrumental. Stream the single with the music video link below.

After 13 years, Michigan rapper Xzibit seems to be moving with a new purpose as he returns with “Play This At My Funeral.” This is the lead single for his upcoming album King Maker, which is going to be out sometime early next year. Outside of him making a grand solo return, the grimy Detroit native is doing so with a new backing. Early last week, it was announced that X signed to UFC legend Conor McGregor’s new label, Greenback Records. he kickstarted the musical endeavor in July and he’s already got Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on his roster.

Xzibit raps with intention on “Play This At My Funeral,” a track that recaps how far he’s come since coming onto the scene in the mid to late 90’s. “Guilty of shotgunning n****s ’cause they was running up
F***, I been fighting so long I sleep in combat boots / I don’t never take them off
.” In addition to the emotional performance, the beat perfectly backs the wide scope themes and messages that X is laying down. 21 the Producer is credited, and he deserves a ton of recognition for the epic boom bap backdrop. It’s anthemic, cinematic, awe-inspiring, and hard-hitting, and ideal for those days where you need some extra motivation.

Jordan Ward & Joony Kick Off Roll Out Of Joint Project With “Jealousy”

Jordan Ward has actually been in the business for about seven years now. But really over the last two or so is where’s seen some growth in his audience. The St. Louis, Missouri singer’s 2023 is perhaps his breakout year, as he went on to release his second project FORWARD. Since it being out, tracks like “FAMJAM4000”, “WHITE CROCS”, and “CHERIMOYA” have turned out to be fan favorites. Ward has managed to stick out thanks to his vocal style that borrows some elements of the 90s to early 2000s. It’s buttery smooth and boyish but in a good way. He also went to drop the extended version later that year and in 2024, he’s kept things fairly lowkey.

However, it’s looking like he’s making a fill return and very soon. But he won’t be alone because rapper and frequent collaborator Joony, will be joining him. On October 4, these two laid-back artists will be dropping a joint effort called JRNY. That’s about all we know for now, on top of its new lead single. Jordan Ward and Joony’s “Jealousy” is all about wanting a more serious relationship with a major crush but not getting the same vibes back. It definitely has a relatable message and the melodies on this track are extremely potent to the ear. The beat is also very simple, but it plays a nice mellow backdrop to their equally chill yet pained deliveries.

Kehlani & Lucky Daye Team Up For Sleazy Ballad “When He’s Not There”

Kehlani and Lucky Daye are looking to weasel their way into some relationships hanging in the balance on “When He’s Not There”. This a brand-new single from the Oakland, California R&B/pop act and it’s here in rapid succession. It’s following up on their fourth studio album CRASH, perhaps the artist’s most ambitious and diverse tracklist to date. The project had soundscapes from the likes of R&B, pop, alternative, country, Afropop, and more. However, it seems that Kehlani is not done dropping albums, because “When He’s Not There” is kicking off roll out number two.

It’s leading the way for a sequel to her 2019, nine-song mixtape, While We Wait. If you need help remembering, it features the hit song with Ty Dolla $ign, “Nights Like This”. While We Wait 2 was essentially announced today and we already have a lot of details on it. It will feature a beefier set of songs with 14 and it will be out on Wednesday, August 28. Mid-week releases aren’t very common, but we can make an excuse for Kehlani. As we mentioned at the top, “When He’s Not There” is a pretty sly track, as both powerful singers try to play homewrecker when they can. This is now the second time them and Lucky Daye have collaborated.

OMB Peezy Begins Roll Out For Upcoming Mixtape With “Hallways To Highways Produced By Will-A-Fool

OMB Peezy is gearing up for the release of his upcoming mixtape by presenting its lead single, “Hallways To Highways”. The 27-year-old rapper and singer from Mobile, Alabama will be dropping STILL TOO DEEP sometime in September, according to a press release. Sadly, the exact date is unknown at the time of writing. But with August winding down (already), we should have that piece to the puzzle in the next couple of weeks, hopefully. This project will follow-up on two LPs from 2023, including Le’Paris and Top Kill. The latter of them was a collaborative offering between Peezy and Lil Joc. For “Hallways To Highways”, OMB Peezy is recruiting a platinum artist to tag team this melodic track.

That guest is producer Will-A-Fool. He has worked with plenty of big-ticket rappers throughout his time in the industry, so he’s bringing a lot of experience to the table. Those previous collaborators include Future, Lil Durk, K CAMP, Kevin Gates, YFN Lucci, Rod Wave, and more. His biggest hit he’s probably every assisted was K CAMP’s “Cut Her Off”. Besides Will-A-Fool being able to make beats for these artists, it should be noted that the mixture here is more important. Peezy, like Rod and Lucci, love to sing just as much they like to rap. So, Peezy grabbing Will for this more easy-going, yet personal record makes a lot of sense. Specifically, Peezy talks about his past, friends and family, but he expresses that he doesn’t want to forget them while he’s on the “highways” to fame. You can stream the song with the music video link below to hear what this duo is bringing to the table.

Cordae & Lil Wayne Keep It A Buck On Stellar “Saturday Mornings”

Cordae continues to be one of hip-hop’s more underrated characters. It might have something to do with how his first couple of years in the industry went. He was originally a member of the YBN group, but since departing, it seems like that era doesn’t even exist anymore. Now, he is one of the more respectable word smiths in game, which is what Cordae further proves on “Saturday Mornings”. This is his first single since the August 2023 track, “Make Up Your Mind”. Before that was the catchy pop rap cut with Anderson .Paak, “Two Tens”. All three of the tracks have a great chance of landing on Cordae’s third studio LP, The Crossroads.

According to Genius, the North Carolina MC announced that this project is coming along nicely in a recent interview with Apple Music. However, a concrete release date is still up in the air at this point. “Saturday Mornings” features the likes of Lil Wayne, someone who he has worked with once before on a 2022 record called “Sinister”. Comparing these two side-by-side, we feel that “Saturday Mornings” might be the stronger one of the two. From the extremely soulful production to the rappers’ effortless change in tone, this song has it all. The pen game is also on point, as Cordae and Weezy have some great messages about wanting to be around authentic people in life, but also in the rap industry.

Roddy Ricch Updates His Fans On Where He’s Been On Soulful Lead Single “Survivor’s Remorse”

“2024 is PERSONAL not business 🕴🏽”. Those were the words of Compton, California multi-hyphenate Roddy Ricch via his Instagram just over 24 hours ago. After a strong run in the latter half of the 2010’s, especially with Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, it seemed that he was going to be one of the new faces of pop/trap rap. Unfortunately, the quality took a dip on the subsequent releases LIVE LIFE FAST and Feed Tha Streets III. Based on his brand-new single Survivor’s Remorse, it is clear that Roddy Ricch has heard the narrative that he has fallen off.

Imagine if I had a dollar for every time you say I fell off, I’d be a billionaire“, he raps on the first bar of his second verse. In addition to addressing the doubters, he gives some evidence as to why he has been laying back. “Roddy really anti, they took it pеrsonal, what the f*** was I supposed to do? / I been goin’ through child support / A good daddy, I vouch for it“. It was recently reported that Roddy’s ex-partner, Alexandra Kiser, did not feel that the rapper was there enough for their now three-year-old son.

“He has been arrested on a gun charge, domestic violence and regularly indulges in promethazine use, all of which are concerns for myself and our son”. Unfortunately, Roddy is still going to hear the noise from unforgiving fans about the lack of production. However, fans are seeming to love “Survivor’s Remorse” so far and they should. Production wise, it is gorgeous, with elegant piano melodies that give us flashbacks to “War Baby”. Also, Roddy turns a crisp vocal performance, and you can tell he has dealt with a lot mentally. With The Navy Album on the way, fans should be thrilled for what Ricch has coming.

What are your thoughts on “Survivor’s Remorse” by Roddy Ricch? Do you think he ever fell off, why or why not? Is this one of the best tracks he has ever put out? Your Old Droog Revving Up For New Album “Movie” With Conductor Williams-Produced Lead Single “Mercury Thermometers”

Your Old Droog is one the grittiest New York rappers your ears will ever hear. That is saying a lot, given how many blue-collar MCs come from there. His deliberate flow makes it easy to dissect every bar and entendre he spits at you. Today, Your Old Droog is back with another one of those cutthroat records called “Mercury Thermometers.” This is his latest offering, and it follows up on a handful of stellar features over the last couple of weeks. “DBZ” with Method Man, Denzel Curry and Madlib was one hell of a team-up and has quickly risen to the top of Droog’s most popular tracks on Spotify.

Another song that has been hitting for him has been “REEKYOD.” Another Madlib-backed track, Zel’s spot is swapped for another icon, Black Thought. While they are not his tracks, Droog still brings it to each offering, but that should not be a surprise. “Mercury Thermometers” is his track though, and it is also a lead single for a new project coming soon.
