Nicki Minaj Shades Megan Thee Stallion, Latto On “Red Ruby Da Sleeze”

Nicki Minaj doesn’t need to pop out but when she does, there’s certainly something worth addressing. And in recent months, the Pink Friday rapper has undoubtedly found herself trading words with a few of the new generation of rappers – many of which she’s influenced. Her issues with Latto took center stage when the Grammy nominations emerged. Her chart-topping single, “Super Freaky Girl” was shifted out of the rap categories, leading to a negative mention of Latto over the success of her massive hit record “Big Energy.”

On top of her issues with Latto, fans speculate that there’s been tension between Nicki and Megan Thee Stallion. Though Nicki embraced Meg when she first came on the scene, collaborating on “Hot Girl Summer,” it seemed as though things took a turn when “WAP” came out. Meg’s decision to work with Nicki’s nemesis ultimately severed their relationship and it seems that Nicki Minaj is out for blood these days.

Nicki Takes Shots At Megan

There’s a lot to unpack on Nicki’s “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” especially the numerous subliminal shots she takes across the record. There are numerous points where she takes aim at the other women who are killing it in rap. She seemingly references Latto as a Karen, once again, when she raps, “We don’t be Karen like Donna-na, na-na-na-na.” Nicki previously called Latto “Karen” during a back-and-forth on Twitter.

However, it’s the subtle aim at Megan Thee Stallion that feels prominent across the record. During the first verse, she raps, “700 on them horses when we fixin’ to leave/ But I don’t fuck with horses since Christopher Reeve.” Then, there’s a reference to Doritos, a brand that struck a deal with Megan Thee Stallion” “Dorito bitches mad that they not chose.” Finally, Nicki seemingly references allegations that Tory Lanez’s told Megan “dance, bitch” the night she was shot. “That .40 cal a make ’em dance like a go-go,” Nicki raps. All in all, fans are convinced that Nicki’s addressing a few of her adversaries in hip-hop. Check out the song above and a few reactions below.

Chlöe And Latto Share Love For Each Other At Billboard’s Women In Music Awards

Both Chlöe and Latto have individually been racking up success for themselves at the age of 24. At Billboard’s Women in Music awards, which took place on Wednesday (March 1), the two artists shared admiration for one another both on stage and on the red carpet. Latto performed “Lottery” alongside Lu Kala at the event, and was awarded the Powerhouse Award. Chlöe presented the award and shared a heartfelt speech in honor of her friend calling the Ohio rapper a “force to be reckoned with.”

While announcing the win, Chlöe reflected, “when you title a song ‘Big Energy,‘ you better be ready to live up to that promise.” While recounting all of Latto’s career successes, the “Pray It Away” singer notes how the honoree “has gone above and beyond.” She goes on to say how she loves Latto’s “soul” and “spirit,” and ends her speech with an appreciative note. “Thank you for always being so kind and genuine,” Chlöe says to the rapper, noting how they share a “sisterhood.”

Chlöe Commemorates Her “Sisterhood” With Latto While Presenting Award

The Powerhouse Award is given to trailblazers within the industry who have earned outstanding sales and streaming numbers. Other honorees of this award include Doja Cat in 2022 and Megan Thee Stallion in 2019. As described in Chlöe’s speech, “Big Energy” remained charted in Billboard’s Top 10 for 10 weeks. Not to mention, this single was Latto’s first to reach number one on any chart. Additionally, Latto has earned several other acclaimed recognitions this past year. BET crowned her as the Best New Artist, and their Hip Hop Awards also announced “Big Energy” as the Song of the Year.

Chlöe and Latto’s friendship was further solidified as the latter grabbed the former’s hand while accepting the award. The pair also posed together on the red carpet, where they exchanged air kisses and goofed around for the cameras. Both artists collaborated last year for “For the Night,” where the two seamlessly fused together their individual musical styles. The music video for the single also reaffirms the pair’s cute and undeniable friendship. Be sure to check out HNHH for more news on hip-hop and pop culture.

Latto & Doechii Feud Explained: Drama At The Billboard Women In Music Awards?

Latto and Doechii

The Billboard Women in Music Awards took an interesting turn after Doechii and Latto received their awards. Fans believe Latto’s speech was shady towards Doechii after it sounded similar to the one the Florida artist gave earlier. Latto Hit The ‘Lottery’ At The ‘Billboard’ Women In Music 2023 While Kim Petras, Becky G And Doechii Also Performed

Billboard‘s Women In Music 2023 was held in Los Angeles last night, March 1. The annual event was hosted by Quinta Brunson and, as the title suggests, celebrated the impact of several powerful women in music.

SZA took home Woman Of The Year, Olivia Rodrigo presented Lana Del Rey with the Visionary Award, and Bad Bunny even showed up to present Ivy Queen the Icon Award.

But it wouldn’t be an awards show without performances.

Kim Petras, the Chartbreaker Award recipient, kicked the evening off with an atmospheric rendition of her January single “Brrr.”

Roughly 20 minutes later, Doechii’s mother, Celesia Moore, introduced her as this year’s Rising Star before she took the stage to deliver a dynamic performance of “Persuasive.” (Doechii also teased “new music” is on the way earlier in the day.)

Lainey Wilson, this year’s Rulebreaker Award winner, was up next around the 37-minute mark, and she allowed everyone to catch their breath from Doechii with the ballad “Heart Like A Truck.”

After Ivy Queen and SZA were honored with their respective awards — complete with a video message from Lizzo, who sang her “favorite SZA song” “Warm Winds” and called her friend “the real deal” — Chlöe hyped up Latto as the Powerhouse Award winner.

Chlöe ran through how overwhelmingly successful “Big Energy” has been for Latto and expressed how Latto “has been there for advice … but even more special, she has openly shared her sisterhood with me.”

She continued, “It can be difficult as a young woman to find your own confidence. I struggle with that every day. But just put any Latto record on, and it is hard not to feel like a boss. She is the personification of a powerhouse.”

And Latto backed up Chlöe’s words with a, well, powerful staging of her latest single, “Lottery.”

Becky G later brought”Mamiii” to the stage after she was presented the American Express Impact Award by Dove Cameron, and TWICE capped off the night with a soaring performance of “Moonlight Sunrise.”

Latto Was ‘Reinspired’ By One Thing Lizzo Did While They Were On Tour Together

On Wednesday night, March 1, the Billboard Women In Music Awards came to the YouTube Theater in Inglewood to honor… well… women in music whose past year was outstanding in some way. Among them were music industry standouts like Chlöe, Lana Del Rey, and Rosalía.

One honoree, Latto, who was given the Powerhouse Award, was asked on the red carpet about moments in her career that prompted her to embrace her power. In response, she said, “I get reinspired consistently. Most recently, I was on tour with Lizzo and just seeing how she treats the people around her, how well she takes care of her team, [and] how well she took care of me — even down to my dancers and everyone else on my team — she reinspired me.”

Latto accompanied Lizzo on her Special tour last year as opener after headlining her own tour eariler in the year. Latto’s powerhouse year not only included the two tours but also a huge breakout thanks to her runaway smash single “Big Energy,” putting on a whole new audience’s radar and leading to a Best New Artist Grammy nomination.

Latto Claps Back After Fan Refers To Her As 21 Savage’s “Mistress”

Latto Denies

Latto clapped back at a fan who attempted to embarrass her on social media. The fan mocked Latto’s rank on Billboard for “Lottery” and insinuated she was the mistress of 21 Savage. Updated By: Journey Green (2/28/23 at 2:51 pm) Latto’s new single “Lottery” debuted at #83 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The “Big […]

Latto & 21 Savage Are Dating, Says Celebrity Hairstylist

All Latto wanted was to keep her romance private, but the internet won’t let her have any peace. The “Big Energy” hitmaker has been carrying on a secret love affair for what seems like years. When it was first revealed that Latto met a new man, the internet lit up with guesses. There were a few suggestions in the first round, but soon, the public seemed to settle on 21 Savage. The spotlight has been on these two for some time.

However, confirmations have been non-existent. Instead, Latto and 21 both repeatedly denied being involved with one another. Fans were quick to point out Latto’s tattoo that looks to be 21’s legal first name, but that wasn’t enough for the Rap stars to come forward. Once again, Latto and 21 are in the hot seat, but the 777 star is the only one battling it out with nosy fans.

She’s used to being trolled, but the Barbz have been ruthless after her spat with Nicki Minaj. Every move Latto makes has been scrutinized by her critics, and once again, she denies the romance with Savage. However, a celebrity stylist surfaced to lay rumors to rest. According to reports, Rhonnie Lee has worked for Moneybagg Yo, but after spilling alleged information about Latto and 21, she’s been labeled as untrustworthy with private information.

On Instagram, someone called it confusing that Latto and 21 have continued to curb the public. “They’re together have been for years now!” Lee replied. “Not something I heard something I KNOW! This his woman he loves her & Vice verse!” A screenshot of the brief exchange became a focal point, thrusting Latto and 21 back into gossip conversations.

Latto Brags About Boyfriend

Regardless of his anonymity, Latto has often bragged about her relationship. For Valentine’s Day, her mystery beau went all out with a lavish, red rose-filled special day. In an interview, the Queen of Da Souf rapper also stated that her man pays all of her bills and makes sure she’s taken care of. As Latto keeps her boyfriend a secret, Rhonnie Lee becomes the talk of the town. Check it out above.

Latto Denied 21 Savage Dating Rumors (Yet Again) On TikTok, But Fans Still Don’t Believe Her

Latto proudly sings about being every man’s fantasy, but in her latest TikTok video, she makes it clear her heart only belongs to one man. As the Grammy Award nominee enjoys some downtime before returning to the road on tour this spring, the “Big Energy” rapper put her cooking skills on full display. While preparing a soul food Sunday spread for her mystery man, fans flooded the comment section to inquire about her boo.

Some users even took it a step further to congratulate fellow rapper 21 Savage for locking down a partner that could prepare such lavish dishes. However, Latto chimed in to deny that she was dating 21 Savage, let alone cooking for him.

Latto isn’t the only party denying the claims, on a Clubhouse session back in December, Savage also denied he and the “Another Nasty Song” rapper were a thing, saying, “I’ve been hot for a long time. I don’t do all the antics and sh*t. I don’t got a celebrity girlfriend.”

The pair have maintained that they only have a professional relationship seen in their collaboration on Latto’s song “Wheelie.” However, fans aren’t buying it after Latto tattooed the word “Sheyaa” behind her ear earlier this month, which is 21’s legal first name (Sheyaa Bin Abarham-Joseph).

Latto Addresses Rumors That She’s A “Mistress”

Latto clearly has a point to prove these days, just not one that’s worth proving to the public. The rapper managed to keep her personal life under wraps. However, it’s only led to further speculations surrounding who she’s dating. Some feel as though she and 21 Savage have been together discreetly, though neither has publicly claimed the other. Still, a few people closest to them have suggested otherwise. Lil 21 Harold acknowledged them as a cute couple, leading to speculation that the two rappers are in a relationship.

Still, Latto and 21 Savage have blatantly denied being with each other. Over the weekend, she sparked speculation after she showed off a meal she prepared for her mystery man, while also referring to herself as a “wife.” Even though the video was intended to highlight her culinary skills, she ultimately faced a barrage of questions surrounding her relationship status with 21 Savage. She denied it, once again, but some felt the reason she hasn’t unveiled her partner’s identity is that she might be playing the role of a mistress.

Latto Clashes With Barb

Once again, Latto found herself clashing with folks on the Internet. This time, it was a Barb that infuriated her with a passive-aggressive congratulatory message surrounding her latest Billboard charting hit record “Lottery” ft. Lu Kala. The Twitter user noted that it was Latto’s first record to hit the Hot 100 in over a year, leading to the back-and-forth. “You want to talk about first like you haven’t been playing second as a mistress for 3 years,” the user wrote to Latto with a flurry of laughing emojis.

In response, Latto stated that people are obsessed with her personal life while slamming the notion of being a mistress to anyone. “I whole ass LIVE w my man Ion even CUM 2nd! Yall need to get off them tea pages & go touch grass! My privacy is driving u up a wall,” she wrote. “Mistress to who? Why they don’t see the cars, diamonds, etc? Cause yall know Im spoiled 2 DEATH! Uon know me & Uon got it figured out like AT ALL.” Check out Latto’s response above and sound off in the comments with your thoughts
