Fans Think Latto Dissed Ice Spice On New GloRilla Song And Here’s Why

Latto and Ice Spice are not friends. These two have been taking subliminal shots at one another for nearly two years. Nobody has said names on record, but the subs have been consistent and pretty obvious. Latto started the whole thing with the song “Fine As Can Be” in 2023. Fans thought Spice blasted back with “Fart,” and so on. The beef seemed to have died down in recent months, with the release of both of their debut studio albums. Maybe both had moved on to more important things. Latto’s latest guest verse, has fans thinking twice.

Latto dropped a memorable sixteen on the new GloRilla song “PROCEDURE.” The song is one of the obvious highlights on Glo’s new album. The reason the song is getting attention, though, is not for its catchy beat or snappy chorus. Instead, it’s because fans think Latto reignited her Ice Spice feud with one simple bar. “But b**ches ain’t got sh*t to steal, like, f*ck I want from you,” she raps. “Talkin’ ’bout takin’ spots, Caresha please, yeah (What).” Once again, no mention of Ice Spice by name. The reference to not having a style worth copying, however, feels pretty distinctly pointed at Spice. The same goes for the bar about “takin’ spots.”

Ice Spice Claims The Latto Beef Is One-Sided

The interesting thing about this particular diss placement, if it is one, is that it drags GloRilla into the beef. Glo has done a decent job of staying out of the drama, and the only time she interacted with Spice was a comedic exchange she had with Lil Duvall on social media. Duvall joked that Ice Spice had become the same size as GloRilla after she started working out. GloRilla didn’t appreciate the comparison, and fired back: : “Wym cause I’m thick af.”

Ice Spice, meanwhile, claims that she doesn’t understand what Latto’s problem is. She was asked about the beef during a recent profile with Rolling Stone. Simply put, she didn’t know what sparked it. “I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her ‘What’s the issue?’ it’d be like a blank stare,” she asserted. “It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me.” Regardless of whether or not Ice Spice has a point, it seems like Latto isn’t going to stop.

Latto Champions Cardi B But Shades Ice Spice During Funny Marco Show

The animosity that Latto has for Ice Spice needs to be studied at this point. She has had a bone to pick with the New York drill artist for about a year now, but no one is really sure why. In fact, the “Think U The S*** (Fart)” rapper doesn’t even know why the self-proclaimed Queen of Da Souf has such disdain for her. “I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her ‘What’s the issue?’ it’d be like a blank stare. It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me”, Ice told Rolling Stone just this July.

She may not have an issue, but with the Y2K! creator sending shots right back, Latto is not going to let up herself. It’s why she’s throwing shade once again, this time during a collaboration with internet comedian, Funny Marco. According to AllHipHop, both were acting as talent scouts for “the next BIG THING” during Marco’s “Open Thoughts Auditions”. A young girl stepped onto the stage to show off her rap skills (pretty poorly we may add) and that’s when Latto thought of the “perfect” comparison.

Is It Obvious How Latto Views Cardi B In Comparison To Ice Spice?

“It gives me like… Ice Spice probably. It was like, ‘I’m so cute, grah’”, Latto said while doing her best Ice Spice impersonation. Hilariously, Marco was in agreement. However, her energy was much different in comparison when it came to Cardi B. In the second clip, another contestant repeatedly claims that the “Bodak Yellow” songwriter has been copying his dance moves and lingo. But with Latto having such good rapport with her femcee contemporary she was not having it with this guy. “I’m not endorsing no Cardi B diss. They can go”, she told Marco.

What are your thoughts on Latto’s support of Cardi B in comparison to Ice Spice? Do you think the hate toward the latter is getting out of control, why or why not? Should they just go ahead and settle the score once and for all? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. 2 Chainz’s Son Halo Asks Latto About Ice Spice Beef To Hilarious Results

2 Chainz’s young son Halo recently “rizzed up” Latto and got her number, but that doesn’t mean she’s safe from his tough questions. Moreover, she was recently a guest on the father and son duo’s Me & Halo podcast, and the eight-year-old didn’t hold back in the interviewer’s seat. “Um, is it true you got beef with Ice Spice?” “Oh my God, here we go,” the Atlanta femcee remarked. “Halo, what in the world?!” his father asked incredulously, albeit with a smile on his face. Whether they scripted this for engagement or not, she gave a pretty diplomatic answer concerning this light rap feud.

“Let me tell you something, Halo,” Latto answered. “I don’t got a problem with nobody ’cause beef is a different thing, you feel me? That’s a whole different type of conversation. I ain’t got no beef with nobody, I don’t got a problem with nobody for real. *laughs* I ain’t got no problem with nobody for real, for real, it ain’t like that.” 2 Chainz joked about Halo being “messy” on a show about love and asked where he even got that information from. Check out the full episode and the full interaction about the alleged Ice Spice beef by clicking the “Via” link down below.

Well, it’s likely that Halo might have spotted Latto’s own words on Ice Spice. “If I was to do [a battle], it would have to be with somebody I feel like I’ma go tit for tat with,” she expressed in a recent Billboard interview when asked about the feud. “I really don’t mean it as shade. Would she even want to do that? I feel like she’s doing her in her lane. It’s two different types of vibes. I don’t even think she gives me like, ‘Oh, she wants to engage in an actual rap beef.’ Everybody gon’ take their lil jabs in the music, and it’s not even that serious to me. I feel like you should do that. Continue to! But as far as actual whole diss records to each other, I don’t think she would even want to do that. Would it even make sense?”

Meanwhile, here’s what Ice Spice had to say about Latto during an interview of her own. “I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her ‘What’s the issue?’” she told Rolling Stone. “It’d be like a blank stare. It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me. I can understand a friendly competition. But I just feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out. And it’s just not even funny. Like, bro, ‘Think U the S**t’ is from January. You’re going to post a piece of s**t cake to announce something that’s good news for you? But it is kind of a compliment because you’re taking something that’s supposed to be a fun moment for you and you’re making it about me … again.”

Latto Takes Heat From Ice Spice Fans Amid Disappointing Sales Projections

Latto’s new album Sugar Honey Iced Tea got a lot of love from her fanbase and from the wider hip-hop sphere… But comparison is the thief of joy. Moreover, some of her rival fanbases online, including that of Nicki Minaj and her big beef opponent Ice Spice, clowned the project’s first week sales projections, which point to a number 17 debut on the Billboard 200 chart with around 27,000 in album-equivalent units sold. Of course, this isn’t the worst chart debut of all time for an artist of the Atlanta femcee’s visibility, but it certainly isn’t making the big commercial splash that she and many others likely hoped for.

Numbers aren’t everything, but the fact that Latto has these feuds with other female rappers makes her (and them) an easy target for ridicule and clowning when things don’t go perfectly. But everyone would benefit from remembering that, beyond the very tip-top of the game which is still seeing diminishing returns compared to years past, pretty much every artist in the mainstream is finding it more and more difficult to get their sales numbers up without a massive and calculated backing campaign from the industry. For example, Ice Spice’s Y2K! debuted with 28,000 in first-week sales at number 18 on the Billboard chart, and despite it being about half the runtime of Sugar Honey Iced Tea, it still puts both LPs at pretty much the same level of commercial success for now.

Instead, what will really differentiate a lot of these albums and narratives is longevity and how these femcees and other artists across the industry will maintain their momentum or squander it. In Latto’s case, she’s got a tour coming up very soon that could help in this regard. Find more reactions to Sugar Honey Iced Tea‘s sales projections down below.

Meanwhile, this is what Ice Spice had to say about her and Latto’s beef. “I feel like if we ever spoke and I asked her ‘What’s the issue?’ it’d be like a blank stare,” she expressed during a recent interview. “It’d really be no issue whatsoever. Especially from me. I can understand a friendly competition, but I just feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s just not even funny. Latto Fans Clock Potential Disses Against Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj And More On Her New Album

Latto’s new album Sugar Honey Iced Tea is a very fun ride, and although it caught the tail end of the summer, we’re sure it’ll heat up playlists for the rest of the year. Even though it’s only been in our hands for a couple of hours, though, fans were quick to compile and break down all the spiciest moments from the bombastic tracklist. Moreover, in their research, fans found some potential subtle (and not-so-subtle) disses against the likes of Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, and Coi Leray. Of course, it’s important to note these aren’t explicit enough shots to really cause an uproar in “Like That” fashion, and that they could be about other rappers or just the rap game in general. So, take this speculation with a grain of salt, but the Atlanta femcee surely came through with some fiery lines either way.

For example, there’s “Settle Down” and Latto’s dismissive remarks about an unnamed rapper. “Got these b***hes waiting for me to drop / Know they probably waiting on me to flop / You was just a fan before you popped / I don’t even know you, how we opps?Thousand-dollar steak and a b***h think we gon’ beef for free? / Lap dog better not think she getting off the leash with me.”

Latto’s Possible Disses On Sugar Honey Iced Tea

Also, there are multiple possible references to Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, and Coi Leray on Latto’s cut “S/O To Me.” “It clearly doesn’t matter if you younger or double my age,” she possibly spits against Roman. “Bye sis, funny thing about it, you can’t look me in my eye, sis” and “Ice is just water when it melts” are two pretty suggestive and by no means accidental shots at Big Mama’s Bronx rival. Finally, there’s “Don’t play coy with me, you know what you headed for,” which needs no explanation.

Some More Alleged Shots

As many fans have noticed, these shots may not be super explicit… But it’s impossible to look at them and think that Latto didn’t know exactly what she was doing when she dropped them. What’s more important: the intent with which these bars emerged or the decision to drop them with their implications in mind, regardless of whether folks intended them? Nevertheless, the “Housekeeping Knows” artist has way more great material on Sugar Honey Iced Tea, so make sure to check it out and not hyper-fixate on the alleged beef.

Ice Spice Does Not Understand Why Latto Has Beef With Her

The Ice Spice and Latto saga continues. In a new interview with Rolling Stone to ahead of the release of Ice’s debut album Y2K, she covered several topics. She spoke about her newfound success in the rap game, her role in the upcoming Spike Lee film High and Low, becoming friends with Taylor Swift, and, of course, her feud with Latto. The two have been taking shots at one another since early last year, if their fans are to be believed.

People speculated that Ice’s January single “Think U The Sh*t” is about Latto. Ice confirmed that it was, referencing a snippet of a song Latto played on her TikTok and the accompanying clip showing footage of an Ice Spice music video in the background. Ice called it a “weak-ass snippet” in a X space. Latto responded by filming her next music video in The Bronx, Ice’s hometown. The two have taken subtle digs at each other since then. When asked about her conflict with Latto directly, Ice did not attempt to skirt the question.

Ice Spice Addresses Latto Feud In Rolling Stone Cover Story

“I can understand a friendly competition, but I feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s not even funny,” said Ice Spice. The perceived feud between the two has gone for over a year, with neither of them making direct statements toward each other. Latto recently said that she has no desire to battle Ice, as they operate in two different lanes. Ice seemingly confirmed that with her words in the Rolling Stone interview.

As far as their music careers are concerned, both Ice Spice and Latto are enjoying success. Latto recently featured on the K-pop singer Jung Kook’s track “Seven.” The track received platinum certification and became Latto’s first track to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ice had two popular singles with Nicki Minaj, “Princess Diana” and “Barbie World,” the latter of which appeared on the Barbie soundtrack in 2023. “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress went viral, becoming one of the biggest songs of last year. She also collaborated with Taylor Swift on a remix of Swift’s track “Karma,” nearly earning her a #1 single of her own. Y2K, her debut album, releases on July 26.

Latto & Ice Spice Smack Talk Each Other As Their Beef Continues At The BET Awards

Latto and Ice Spice are two of the most impactful female hip-hop artists right now. You could even make the argument for overall, especially this year. Both have turned in hit after hit, and they are nearing the releases of their highly-anticipated projects in the ensuing months. For Ice Spice, she will finally be delivering her debut album Y2K! on July 26th. Then, there is the self-proclaimed Queen of da Souf’s record Sugar Honey Iced Tea. Each album looks to do run up the streams and sales when they hit the market, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

That is partially because these two leading ladies are still butting heads. Each femcee has taken their respective shots via social media and the booth over these last several months. That animosity was on further display during the 2024 BET Awards last night (June 30), as Latto and Ice Spice were dragging each other for their performances. They both showcased their respective disses, “Think U The S*** (Fart)” and “Sunday Service”, in addition to some other cuts.

However, it seems Latto and Ice Spice were locked into those two songs in particular. Following the latter’s time onstage, the Atlanta-based artist claimed that she is in indeed a “fart” and the “stankiest” one at that. The New York native followed up with a retort on X (formerly Twitter) dispelling Latto’s statement. “U NOT EVEN THE FART B!TCH🧡now gimmie my 10ss”.

What are your thoughts on Latto making fun of Ice Spice’s performance at the BET Awards? If these two get into a diss track battle, who do you have winning? Who do you think had the better showing onstage? Additionally, who has been having the better year so far and who will at the end?
