In a recent tweet, Asian Da Brat stated that the documentary King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer falsely labeled him as a serial killer. Following the release of the documentary, fans took to Twitter to share their own reactions, with some alleging that Von was indeed a serial killer. On April 11, a documentary titled […]
The documentary about King Von, Rap’s First Serial Killer, has been divisive, to say the least. The documentary, released on YouTube, was briefly removed before being restored to the site on Wednesday. However, fans of the late rapper have sprung to his defense. They call the documentary “speculation” and criticize the presentation of theory as fact.
Rap’s First Serial Killer, created by Trap Lore Ross, alleges that King Von was responsible for at least ten murders prior to his 2020 death. This includes the death of Malcolm Stuckey, for which King Von was acquitted in 2017. Now Von’s former partner, rapper Asian Doll, is speaking out about the documentary.
Asian Doll Calls Documentary “Not True”
In now-deleted tweets, Asian hit back about Rap’s First Serial Killer, calling it “not true.”. She also argued, “How They Tell A Story About Somebody That DIED before he could tell his own.” Furthermore, the second tweet reposted to Instagram by theneighborhoodtalk is in reference to a claim that the documentary isn’t saying anything that King Von hadn’t already said. As a top comment on the documentary reads, “The wild part is folks can’t be mad at dude for making this documentary the same information he’s sharing is the same information that Von HIMSELF and his peers put out there, NOBODY ELSE. This information was already there he just cumulated all of it into one complete video.” Despite this belief, Asian makes a valid point.
The claim that Von was a “serial killer” is a heavily disputed one. Aside from the Stuckey murder that he was acquitted of, Von was attached to two other murders. He was arrested in 2019 in connection with the robbery and murder of Alexander Witherspoon in Atlanta. Von was released on a $300,000 bond. Additionally, in 2021, nearly a year after Von’s death, Chicago police labeled Von as responsible for the 2014 murder of Gakirah “K.I.” Barnes. However, they stated that they had been unable to prosecute him due to a lack of cooperating witnesses. Despite this, and whatever supporters of the documentary may have, Von’s case will forever be unsolved. Unless full-proof evidence emerges, the claims that he was a “serial killer” are merely theories.

Ye returns the favor on “City of Gods” after Fivio was featured on his song “Off the Grid.” The song is another New York anthem that floats over Fivio Foreign’s signature drill beat.
“City of Gods” peaked at No. 46 on the US Billboard Chart and No. 15 on the R&B and Hip-Hop chart. The RIAA has certified the song Gold for half a million equivalent units sold. The single peaked at No. 20 on the R&B Chart and No. 34 on the US Chart. JB Made It produced the beat.

“Zoo York” comes off Lil Tjay’s third EP, State of Emergency, distributed by Columbia Records. The song features Fivio Foreign and the late drill rapper Pop Smoke. The words ‘Zoo York’ are a play on words extrapolated from New York, which the artists on the song call home. “Zoo York” has been certified platinum by the RIAA. It peaked at No. 28 on the R&B and Hip-Hop chart and No. 65 on the US Chart. Bordeaux and Non Native produced “Zoo York.” The song has been viewed 57 million times on YouTube since it was uploaded two years ago.
1. “Off The Grid” – Kanye West feat. Fivio Foreign & Playboy Carti (2021)
Fivio Foreign jumps on the “Off the Grid” single from the then highly anticipated Donda album from Kanye West. This is Fivio’s highest-peaking featured single. The song reached No. 4 on the US R&B and Hih-Hop Chart and No. 11 on the US Chart. “Off the Grid” also features an eerie verse from Playboy Carti. King Von’s mom posted some sweet photos of him as part of a throwback on her social media. The post comes just days after the release of a Youtube documentary about Von that alleges he murdered ten people before he himself was killed. The video was made by Youtuber Trap Lore Ross. After it was posted, it was subsequently taken down. The reasons for this are still unknown. When it happened, Ross simply took to Twitter to announce that he was working on getting it back up. It could have been a simple copyright strike for something in the video. On the other hand, Von’s team may have been trying to get it taken down. It has since been reinstated.
The documentary isn’t the only thing that’s come out in the press about King Von. In 2021, the FBI named Von as the culprit in the killing of 17-year-old Gakirah “K.I.” Barnes. Both the rapper and Barnes were members of Chicago gangs. Earlier this year, FBI witnesses also revealed that he had put a $100k hit out on FBG Duck. Just days later, Duck’s mother took to Instagram to reveal that Von was also involved in the killing of Boss Trell. “Von allegedly killed Trell, him, and T. Roy,” she said. “Only the streets know and only the people who did it know, so that’s why I’m saying ‘allegedly’.”
Von’s Mom Remembers Him Fondly
Although King Von may have been “Rap’s First Serial Killer,” as the documentary alleges, his mother remembers him as a son. In her throwback post, there are two pictures of a young Von. The first is a picture of the late rapper on what looks to be graduation day. The second is a school picture in which Von wears a green button-up shirt dress shirt. The pictures show King Von in a very different light than the documentary, and it shows that he was a complex person. Commenters, however, were quick to point out that he was not so innocent.
Instagram account No Jumper reposted the photos, and many users took to the comments to sound off their opinions. One pointed out, “Already had 2 bodies.” This is in reference to the fact that Von had allegedly already begun killing as a teenager. Another user chimed in to say, “Bro was a literal living baby demon catching bodies.” Regardless of King Von’s history, it is always heartbreaking to see a mother that has to grieve a dead child. What do you think of the photos? Let us know in the comments!
King Von was killed almost three years ago in a lounge shooting in Atlanta. A fight broke out between Von’s people and another group, resulting in two dead and four injured. The rapper’s murder remains unsolved, but plenty of information about him has come out in the years following his death.
Last week, Youtube documentarian Trap Lore Ross added a pretty serious accusation to the mounting number of disturbing headlines about King Von. Ross’ new documentary is a nearly four-hour exposé on the late rapper and his history of violence, titled King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer. According to the video, Von had committed at least ten murders. The video didn’t last long, however.
Hiding Von’s Alleged Murderous Past
The YouTube documentary alleging that King Von was a serial killer didn’t last very long on the video platform. It was removed just two days after being posted. Trap Lore Ross tweeted a simple response, only saying, “Video got taken down.” The reason for the video’s removal is still unclear. It could simply be that there was a copyright claim on some of the material used for the documentary. This is often the case with Youtube videos. Still, given the serious accusations, it could very well be that the late rapper’s team is doing what they can to suppress them.
The documentary received mixed reactions from social media. “Ain’t gona lie I’ve just watched like 10mins of this documentary, and man o man,” said one Twitter user, praising the video. “The amount of effort that went into this is INSANE…” While there were plenty of compliments for Ross’ video, some felt the need to call him out for allegedly lying about Von. “Video taken down like I said,” one commented. “Any other bloggers wanna defame his character?” King Von may or may not have been a serial killer. Still, the late rapper was clearly involved in a number of violent crimes. What do you think of the allegations? Let us know in the comments below.
Fresh off of the release of his new album Recovery, Quando Rondo continues to face questions surrounding his feud with Lil Durk’s crew. The “Soul Reaper” rapper recently sat down with Say Cheese TV! where he was confronted with questions about Lil Durk and King Von. On the question of the Durk look-a-like, Quando Rondo denied that he attempted to make a mockery out of the “What Happened To Virgil” rapper. He explained that a lot of people have blonde hair these days, including his friend who starred in the video. In Quando’s view, it was a mere coincidence.
However, Say Cheese TV! also dove into the topic of King Von’s death. If you recall, it was Quando’s associate, Lul Tim, who’s accused of being the triggerman on the night that the Chicago rapper died in Atlanta. And while Quando seemingly gloated about Von’s death in his music and social media after the fact, he feigned ignorance when he was asked about the situation specifically. “I don’t even remember that night,” he said as he sparked a blunt. “That was so long ago. You know how that go.”
Quando Rondo Pleads The Fifth
While Quando Rondo said that he can’t remember what happened “two months ago,” and stated that he only remembers when the next Jordan’s drop. However, a lot of people in the comments of MyMixtapez’s post pointed out the scuffle that occurred between Quando Rondo and King Von right before the shooting. Others clowned Quando Rondo, especially after his interview with Angela Yee where he said he experienced an out-of-body experience. “Big Brah… it was the outer body experience that I don’t remember big brah,” one person wrote.
King Von died on November 6th, 2020 in Atlanta following an altercation between himself and Quando Rondo’s associate. Lul Tim was later charged in relation to the fatal shooting though he later posted bond and was released. However, the shooting spurred high tension between Lil Durk’s OTF camp and NBA Youngboy’s Never Broke Again clique, who have continued to take shots at each other over on records and social media. Most recently, Quando Rondo and Lil Durk appeared to throw shade at each other over release dates, though the former said he had issues with his label, not Durk.
Following his release from prison, Lil Reese unloaded plenty of tales about the Chicago streets during his recent interview with Cam Capone News, where he shared untold stories about Chief Keef, Lil Durk, and King Von. In one clip, the Supa Savage 3 rapper explained how he got Lil Durk to join him in an attempt to rob someone from a dice game. As he planned the robbery, he asked Durk knowing that no one else would’ve helped him. And while they successfully went through with getting Reese’s money back from the dice game, they eventually had to hand it over after a big homie intervened.
However, King Von became a major point in Reese’s recent interview. At one point, he detailed how he, along with Von and the late Fredo Santana, once stole a bike. The interviewer recalled a story he heard about DJ Univercity claiming that Reese once stole his bicycle. Though the Chicago rapper denied knowing the DJ, he explained that it’s likely true because he and his friends got into many mischievous acts when they grew up in the South Side Of Chicago.
DJ Univercity Responds To Lil Reese & King Von
Reese said that much of his time in the street began with a petty crime like stealing bikes. “I used to take n***as bikes back then… All them n***as from 63rd, we used to go down on they block and beat them up and take they bikes, real shit. Catch them on the bus and up guns on them and shit. We used to torture them boys,” he explained. “Fredo was out there with us. Von was out there. T-Roy was out there. A lot of n***as was out there that’s still around. Basically.”
Though he doesn’t seem too remorseful about the scenario, DJ Univercity reacted to the confirmation that Reese and Von jacked him for his bike. “My grandma gave me that bike @reesemoney300 [red angry face emoji],” he posted on his Instagram page. Reese has yet to respond to Univercity’s post but he clearly looks back at those moments fondly. Check out DJ Univercity’s response to Lil Reese’s interview above and share your thoughts in the comment section below.
People are wondering if Lil Durk and King Von are related. King Von passed away on November 6, 2020. Tribute posts flooded social media. These came from listeners and of course, those who knew him personally. Lil Durk was one of the people who posted one. The caption he used referred to King Von as his “baby bro”. Listeners began to speculate if there was something deeper behind this. Lil Durk is an artist that had very close ties to him. Their relationship was strong outside the booth too.
King Von and Lil Durk were a very well-known pair in the Chicago rap music world. They did not have an official name as a duo. At least, not musically or one that was known by the general public. The two of them never officially dropped a collab project. Durk had been a figure in the Chicago music scene for years. Von’s come-up came after his but their come-up journeys were still aligned. They mostly stuck to the music but were also involved in serious criminal situations.
Lil Durk and King Von Have Had Criminal Charges
Their verses are a product of the things they grew up around. They have both shared many situations in their music that were a part of their upbringing. Many of these situations were still around them as adults. Multiple artists have spoken out against the type of music they made. The argument is that someone has to share their experiences with the world. Also, the situations happened in the past and they have moved past them. They did not want to encourage people to do the things they used to do.
Lil Durk and King Von were involved in a criminal case together. The situation was quite complex but it resulted in the charges for Lil Durk being dropped. Before this, Lil Durk released an appropriately titled song “Turn Myself In” that had multiple references to the situation. Also amidst the situation, King Von began handing out bundles of cash to residents of Chicago’s O’ Block area. They both handled the reality of the charges they faced differently. The situation brought more ears to their music and more attention to their social media too.
Many people were commenting “Slide for Von” on Lil Durk’s posts after King Von passed. This meant they wanted Durk to get revenge for Von’s death. This is something many people had an issue with. It would only continue the cycle. Rappers have spoken about wanting this cycle to end. Durk responded to the comments in a line by saying the people were trolls. He did not want to jeopardize his career over revenge.
Lil Durk and King Von Have a Long Musical History
Durk and Von have been on multiple songs together. Lil Durk signed him to his label Only The Family in 2018. King Von’s first mixtape, Grandson, Vol. 1 had two appearances from Lil Durk on it. His first album, Welcome to O’Block, also had two appearances from Lil Durk. The Only The Family label released two projects and Durk and Von had a song together on the second one.King’s Von posthumous album, What It Means to be King, has one appearance from Lil Durk. His posthumous mixtape, Levon James, has two.
King Von has made appearances on projects from Lil Durk as well. The first one was on Lil Durk’s album Love Songs 4 The Streets 2. Another Only The Family album, Family Over Everything also has King Von on it. Lil Durk’s album, The Voice is credited as a tribute to King Von. The cover art has both of them on it. Additionally, it also has “Long Live Grandson” on the cover. As I previously mentioned, Grandson, Vol. 1, was the name of Von’s debut mixtape.
Lil Durk and King Von are not related. However, they are both from the same area of Chicago. Throughout the years, they have formed a strong bond. Often people will refer to each other as brothers because of this. The bond may not be blood but it feels like one. Sometimes, the older person in the relationship becomes a mentor. Lil Durk was older than King Von and a mentor of sorts to him. He helped him focus on his music.
Durk referred to Von as “baby bro” because of the relationship they had. Due to their similar music and lifestyle, he also called him his twin. This shows how he feels they mirrored each other. Von was someone Durk was able to uplift. He treated him like a brother. They were not related but family does not always involve blood.
King Von’s death came just a week after he released his debut album, Welcome To O’Block. The album was a promising body of work that provided fans with a better glimpse into Von’s world as he navigates with one foot in the streets and the other in the music industry. Although he passed away just a week after it dropped, his fans continue to carry his legacy and keep his name alive nearly two and a half years later.
However, it appears that he had an abundance of music in the stash prior to his passing. Though we got our first glimpse at the vault with What It Means To Be King, fans haven’t been entirely sure of what his estate will do with unreleased material. Fortunately, it seems as though they’re gearing up to deliver a new posthumous album in the near future. There isn’t much information surrounding the project. However, one of the most trusted voices in the OTF camp appears to be trying to secure a number of features.
DJ Bandz Calls On Lil Baby To Deliver A Verse For King Von
Lil Durk’s official DJ chimed in this week with an update of sorts surrounding the follow-up to What It Means To Be King. DJ Bandz hit up Instagram to get fans to call on Lil Baby to deliver a verse for Von’s next project. “Tag Lil Baby. Tell him we need him on the album, man. I know folks be real busy, like one of the biggest in the world, but we need him on this album,” he said. “It’s mandatory. We gotta have him on here. Tell Wham we need him on this album.
It didn’t take long for fans to remind Bandz about Baby and Lil Durk’s friendship. Instead of a public call-out, he could’ve got Durk to put in phone call for the verse. Though Von clocked in many collaborations during his short career, he surprisingly never worked alongside Lil Baby. Hopefully, we get more information on the upcoming posthumous project from King Von soon. Check out DJ Bandz’s video for Lil Baby above and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below.
King Von’s legacy will forever live on through his music and his manager has made sure of that with a teaser of a new LP from KV on his label Empire Records.
100K Tracks posted that another album from Von could be in the released by the end of the year.
“Yup it’s that time again @kingvonfrmdao ?/?/23 Album Ready @nima_empire @ghazi @empire @otf @_gbg_gbg_ @100kmgmt @__tmac__1 @_djbandz – what would von name it though,” Tracks wrote.
While his team is celebrating new music reports, a witness speaking to the FBI last week claimed that the “Crazy Story” rapper placed a$100,000 bounty on FBG Duck.
An FBI report cites a confidential witness they spoke to in August 2020, just weeks after Duck’s murder, who claimed that King Von first offered $50,000 for anyone who killed Duck, before later upping the reward to $100,000.
The witness, who claims the Von celebrated FBG Duck’s death by purchasing new chains for everyone on O’Block, also identified the alleged shooters, including Marcus “Muwop” Smart, who the witness alleges committed several murders on behalf of O’Block.
King Von was shot and killed during a huge melee with Quando Rondo’s crew on November 6, 2020, outside of a club in Atlanta. He was only 26 years old.
