Joe Budden Reveals Private DMs from Drake During New Podcast Episode

Joe Budden Reacts to Logic’s “It Was a Good Day” Cover

Joe Budden is back with episode 665 of his podcast, which is a reaction to an onslaught of disses and mentions from Drake and his team following criticism of the For All the Dogs album.

Budden details what being on the receiving end of a big moment on the Internet was like, and Drake DM’d him a voice note after he slandered his lifestyle.

“He jumps in my DMs,” Budden said, receiving the message during his girlfriend’s son’s birthday party. “I ain’t lying. He jumped right in my DMs, and I’m pacing around, smoking. He DMs me with a 55-second voice note. I can’t tell you what it said cause I didn’t listen to it. You gotta speak to me with love.”

JBP co-host Meylssa Ford asked if he wanted to play it on air, to which Budden replied no. “If I was one of these clout-chasing ass niggas that’s exactly what I would come in here and do. But I’m too thorough at my core and my soul. Protecting energy is a thing. Y’all don’t talk to me when I say favorable things any other time, don’t fucking talk to me now.”

He added, “The way y’all appear to feel about Hip-Hop media, who the fuck are y’all to think you should be granted the luxury of dishonesty.”

You can hear it from Budden below.

Joe Budden’s Former Co-Host Mal Shows Drake’s Instagram Lots Of Love Amid Beef

At this point in his career, Drake has become accustomed to the polarized reactions that pour in whenever he drops new music. The father of one’s impressive list of accolades speaks for itself in terms of his commercial success, but still, not everyone is a fan of Champagne Papi’s sound. Joe Budden made it clear during a recent episode of his podcast that he’s not feeling For All The Dogs, which has since caused the Toronto native to lash out at him on Instagram.

“I thank God for this life and not having to come to rushed conclusions on Best Buy podcast mics 💘,” Drake captioned a recent upload. While he obviously didn’t name-drop Budden, it’s hard to deny that the 36-year-old seemed to be taking shots at the media personality. Interstingly, Joe’s former co-host, Mal, looks to be taking the 6ix God’s side in the internet beef, as he’s been flooding Drake’s comment section with emojis for the past few days.

Mal Seemingly Supports Drake as Joe Budden Bashes For All The Dogs

At least four of the “Way 2 Sexy” hitmaker’s recent uploads have “💰💰💰” dropped beneath them from Mal. As some IG users have pointed out in @thejasminebrand’s comments, it’s not unusual for the Rory & Mal host to leave money bags under posts on the app. However, seeing as Drake and Budden are currently breaking the internet with their beef, it seems a bit too convenient for the sudden show of support amid his old boss’ hate train rolling in to be a coincidence.

Since For All The Dogs arrived this past weekend, it’s become glaringly obvious who in the industry is on Drake’s side these days. Joe Budden may not be a supporter of the Canadian, but his baby mama, Sophie Brussaux, was more than happy to show off a tattoo of the rapper’s face while attending one of his Toronto tour dates. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Azealia Banks Has Words for Drake and Birdman After They Came for Joe Budden

Azealia Banks Cancels Album Following 'Wild n Out' Taping

Azealia Banks has seen all the smoke sent Joe Budden‘s way from Drake and Birdman and has some words to say. Hitting Instagram, Banks told Drake what is not Hip-Hop.

Does Drake know his nose job and liposuction is not hip hop?
Does Drake know that no one who actually understands hip hop — a culture born from oppressed, don’t reeeeeeeallly care about his soft-toothed colonized confused mixed-race facsimile attempts to exhibit the true authenticity of an actual MC? Does Drake know his desperate attempts to gangsterize Canadian “street life” is an all-encompassing failure in and of itself?

– Azealia Banks

She then turned her attention to Birdman:

Also, can hip hop get ANYMORE TRASHY? Does Birdman know how low IQ, tacky, and how much of a fucking loser he looks threatening Joe Budden via the internet? Like… You can get arrested for that, Birdman.

– Azealia Banks

You can see it from Banks below and read more about the threats to Joe Budden here.

Birdman Speaks on Joe Budden’s Criticism of Drake: ‘He Can’t Play with the G.O.A.T.’

Birdman Want his Face Tattoos Removed

Birdman has entered the conversation of those who are critical of Drake. Speaking on Clubhouse with Wack 100, Birdman stated he always respected Joe, but it can go left.

“I don’t have no ill feelings with Joe Budden. I personally always respected Joe Budden. I don’t have nothing ill about Joe Budden. But he can’t play with the G.O.A.T. And if you playing with the G.O.A.T., then you want a problem. If you want a problem, we’ll give you a problem. On God, we’ll give you one.”

– Birdman

Before the Clubhouse room, Birdman issued a statement on Instagram: “Joe Budden calm down brother you not built 4 this real gangsta shit.”

Drake continued to shade Joe Budden following the rapper-turned-podcaster’s opinion of For All The Dogs. Azealia Banks Didn’t Hold Back With Comments To Drake About His Response To Joe Budden’s Criticism

As one of the biggest names in hip-hop today, Drake’s always a lightning rod for controversy and criticism, but the target on his back always gets bigger and glows brighter in the wake of a new album release. For All The Dogs is no exception, as the Canadian rapper’s eighth solo studio album has brought with it a clamorous reaction from both fans and media personalities like Charlamagne The God and Joe Budden.

Of course, this time around, Drake’s been as ready with a spicy retort of his own every time they’ve dissed him. However, even his replies are catching flak now. After Drake sent a sassy sally at Joe Budden for the former rapper’s salty review, Azealia Banks, of all people, chimed in with some scathing commentary of her own, reviving a few derogatory rumors about Drake in the process.

“Does drake know his nose job and liposuction is not hiphop??” she wrote on Instagram. “Does drake know that no one who actually understands hiphop – a culture born from oppressed, don’t reeeeeeeeallly care about his soft-toothed colonized confused mixed-race facsimile attempts to exhibit the true authenticity of an actual MC? Does drake know his desperate attempts to gangsterize Canadian ‘street life’ is an all encompassing failure in and of it itself?”

Of course, you can’t always take everything Banks says seriously. After all, if plastic surgery is a mark against Drake, Banks is standing in a glass house throwing one hell of a stone. She’s also been pretty wrong about everything from West Coast hip-hop to Cardi B’s popularity, and her comments generally reek of sour grapes and Haterade. We’ll see if Drake responds to her the same way he did Charlamagne and Budden, but to be honest, I think we’d all be better off just letting Azealia yell at the clouds.

Azealia Banks Claps Back At Drake After Joe Budden Comments

Over the weekend Drake released his highly anticipated new album For All The Dogs. The album turned out to be 23 tracks long and round out at over 80 minutes, providing plenty of material for the rapper’s die-hard fans. It also sports a number of high-profile features including SZA, J. Cole, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, and many more. Despite how much hype there was for the project, ultimately some online aren’t big fans.

Rapper turned podcast host Joe Budden had plenty to say about For All The Dogs. Budden’s biggest complaint appeared to be about who the music was aimed at. He claimed that Drake was “rapping for children” and advised the rapper to start hanging out with more people his own age. When Drizzy clapped back he pointed out that Budden failed as a rapper and is now critiquing one of the most successful rappers of all time. In particular, he slammed Budden describing his show in hard-hitting terms. “You are watching a failure give their opinion on his recipe for success,” he said of Budden’s show.

Azealia Banks Weighs In On Drake

One person who is clearly taking Budden’s side in the beef is Azealia Banks. The rapper has criticized Drake in the past and clearly thought his rap critiques rang hollow. “Does Drake know his nose job and liposuction is not hiphop?” she began her response statement. That’s only the beginning of her response which is short but extremely hard-hitting calling out just how far she thinks the rapper has strayed from the lens of “hip-hop.”

In the comments of a recapping of the beef, fans generally agreed with Banks’s take. That hasn’t stopped Drake from doubling down as he once again took shots at Budden overnight. He shared the phrase “rushed conclusions on Podcast mics” to Instagram seeming to take aim at Budden again. What do you think of Azealia Banks’s critiques of Drake following his beef with Joe Budden? Let us know in the comment section below.

Charlamagne Tha God Weighs In On Drake’s Feud With Joe Budden

Charlamagne Tha God says that fans hold Drake to a higher standard than other artists and compared him to LeBron James. The radio host spoke about the expectations for Drake’s new album, For All The Dogs, while discussing his feud with Joe Budden on Monday morning.

“I was watching some of the criticism of Drake’s album this weekend,” Charlamange began. “I don’t know if it’s the fairest, but he is held to a different standard because of the high levels– I mean, the reality of the high levels of criticism that he gets is it comes with the territory of the rare air that he’s in. It feels very reminiscent of LeBron critique. Like, I think folks want Drake to be JAY-Z just like they want Bron to be Jordan and we’ll never truly appreciate either one of them if we keep comparing them to those individuals. So, it’s the ultimate compliment to be mentioned and compared to those icons but it’s an impossible hurdle to overcome.”

The feud between Drake and Budden began while Budden was sharing his negative feelings on For All The Dogs, last week. “He rappin’ for the children. Yo dog, I had to look up how old this n—a was when I finished listening to the album,” Budden complained. “You are 36. Your birthday is in 20 days. I Googled that, too. You’re going to be 37 years old. Get the f— away from some of these younger n—as. And stop f—ing these 25-year-olds.” Check out Charlamagne’s comments on the feud below.

Drake Seemingly Shades Joe Budden: “Rushed Conclusions On Best Buy Podcast Mics”

Drake seemed to call out Joe Budden in a post on Instagram, Sunday night, following recent criticism from the podcast host. While sharing pictures from his It’s All A Blur tour, Drake noted that he’s appreciative of the life he has and that he isn’t somewhere podcasting.

“I thank god for this life and not having to come to rushed conclusions on Best Buy podcast mics,” Drake wrote. The remark mirrors Drake’s previous criticism of Budden, during which he labeled him a failed rapper.

As for what made Drake so mad, Budden discussed his negative response to For All The Dogs on an episode of his podcast. “He rappin’ for the children. Yo dog, I had to look up how old this n—a was when I finished listening to the album,” Budden said. “You are 36. Your birthday is in 20 days. I Googled that, too. You’re going to be 37 years old. For any artist watching this just remember you are watching a failure give their opinion on his idea of a recipe for success… a quitter give their opinion on how to achieve longevity…” He added: “You switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat…” Check out Drake’s latest jab above and be on the lookout for further updates on For All The Dogs on HotNewHipHop.
