Jada previously expressed confidence in the return of Red Table Talk while speaking with PEOPLE back in June. At the time, she confirmed several platforms had reached out about publishing the series. “We’ve had a couple platforms reach out to us,” Smith revealed. “And we have some interesting avenues that we’re looking at now. You know me, I’m always looking for the next innovative thing. Actually, there’s one idea that we have in mind that I’m kind of excited about that will probably be happening, maybe, close to the release of the book. We’ve got some really interesting stuff happening with [Red Table Talk]. I’m excited about that journey as well.”

Red Table Talk previously aired on Facebook Watch, beginning in May 2018. It ran there for five seasons. Jada has hosted numerous celebrities on the show over those years. Diddy Nearly Fought Will & Jada Pinkett Smith For Flirting With Jennifer Lopez, Body Guard Claims

Diddy’s former bodyguard, Gene Deal, says that the Bad Boy founder once nearly came to blows with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Speaking with The Art of Dialogue, Deal explained that the couple had “made advances” on Diddy’s then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez. He also joked that Will would mostly likely “beat the shit” out of Diddy, although he did admit the music industry mogul can “scrap.”

“We were at a birthday party that I think Matt Damon was giving for Ben Affleck. It was just a little gathering at the Four Seasons,” Deal began. “Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Puff, Will Smith and Jada were sitting on [one] side of the room.”

“[Puff] stood up. And when he stood up, he walked and did his arms a certain kind of way like [crossing them]. I go over towards him and he said to me, ‘Yo, I think Will and Jada are trying to scoop up Jennifer. I want you to stay close ’cause I’ma snuff him.’” Deal added that he found the entire situation funny and even hoped Will would get a few good shots in on Diddy: “I could move slow enough that Will could probably get two or three punches back in,” he remembered thinking, “That shit was funny. He thought that Jada and Will were coming on too strong to Jennifer, making advances.” Check out Deal’s full comments on working with Diddy below.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s 7 Best Movies: From “Jason’s Lyric” To “Set It Off”

Despite her ongoing controversies, there was a time in Hollywood history when Jada Pinkett Smith wasn’t commanding tabloid headlines. In recent years, the actress has been met with rumors and scandals about “entanglements.” Now, news of her official separation from Will Smith thrust her back into social media chatter. The attention has often caused the global audience to associate Jada with just about anything other than her illustrious acting career. However, we think it’s the perfect opportunity to walk down memory lane.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s step into acting began in the 1990s. She picked up bit parts in several television series before landing a role in 1993’s cult classic Menace II Society. Since then, Smith’s filmography has diversified to include production and voice-over credits, as well as hosting, most famously on her family-centered Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk.

Although several of Smith’s films have been blockbusters, not all have made it to this list. Many movies included here are some of her most influential, as they arrived during her transition from small-time actress to major player in the industry. There are some fan favorites, expected arrivals, and a few surprises. Take a look at seven of Jada Pinkett Smith’s best films (in no particular order!), and let us know which is your favorite.

Jason’s Lyric (1994)

In Jason’s Lyric, the narrative centers on Jason (Allen Payne), a man constrained by family trauma. It comes after the violent choices of his brother Joshua (Bokeem Woodbine). Into this tangled web strides Lyric (Jada Pinkett Smith), who is far from a mere love interest. Lyric is a catalytic force, thrusting Jason’s life with new dimensions. She embodies the dreams and limitations of their community, pulling Jason toward a more hopeful future.

The Nutty Professor (1996)

In the 1996 comedy The Nutty Professor, Eddie Murphy’s multiple characters might command the spotlight, but Smith’s Carla Purty subtly enriches the film’s emotional landscape. As a chemistry grad student and Sherman Klump’s love interest, Carla brings a sense of compassion to a movie where Murphy does some of his best comedic lifting. Purdy is an intellectual force in her own right, providing the audience and Sherman—a character otherwise swamped in insecurities—with a moral and emotional anchor. Her portrayal elevates the narrative from a comedy about physical transformation to a story that also questions societal beauty norms.

The Inkwell (1994)

In the 1994’s The Inkwell, Smith is Lauren Kelly, a young woman on a coming-of-age journey. The socially awkward protagonist is Drew (Larenz Tate). Set against the backdrop of a family vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, the movie delves into the complexities of Black family life and youthful exploration. Lauren becomes more than simply the object of affection. She’s a prism through which the film explores varied aspects of Black youth and identity. With confidence and free-spirited energy, Lauren provides a foil for Drew’s social anxieties and family dynamics. It forces him to confront his insecurities while still maintaining nuanced character depth.

Girls Trip (2017)

The 2017 box-office hit Girls Trip saw Jada Pinkett Smith in the ensemble cast as Lisa Cooper, a nurse and devoted mother undertaking a transformative journey with her college friends. While the film is awash with raucous humor and audacious escapades, Pinkett Smith’s character presents an intriguing divergence. Lisa starts as a conservative, somewhat stifled member of the group. She’s by the responsibilities of motherhood and a life that revolves around caregiving. Yet, as the escapades in New Orleans unfold, she undergoes a vibrant metamorphosis.

Matrix Reloaded (2003)

In 2003’s The Matrix Reloaded, Smith takes on the role of Niobe, a rebel ship captain whose contributions to the resistance go beyond mere tokenism. Niobe helps Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity, played by Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, and Carrie-Anne Moss, respectively, in their monumental struggle against the machines. Niobe’s decisions factor into the rebellion’s strategy, making her not a periphery but an essential element in this sci-fi universe. With Smith’s enactment, Niobe embodies a leadership model that’s analytical, independent, and compassionate. She offers audiences an entry point into the film’s twisted themes of destiny, choice, and resistance.

Set It Off (1996)

In the gritty crime drama Set It Off, Smith portrays Lida “Stony” Newsom, a woman caught in the inescapable cycle of systemic poverty and disenfranchisement. Stony isn’t a mere caricature of struggle. She’s a fully realized character grappling with losing her brother, navigating toxic relationships, and facing harsh economic realities. Alongside Queen Latifah’s Cleo, Vivica A. Fox’s Frankie, and Kimberly Elise’s Tisean, Stony becomes a co-conspirator in a series of bank heists. They aim at seizing a semblance of control over her destiny. Pinkett Smith brings a riveting authenticity to Stony, navigating her evolution from a beleaguered individual to a reluctant anti-heroine.

Menace II Society (1993)

In Menace II Society‘s harrowing drama, Jada Pinkett Smith plays Ronnie, a grounding force amid a storm of violence and systemic neglect. The film primarily focuses on the life of Caine Lawson (Tyrin Turner) as he navigates the treacherous landscape of inner-city Los Angeles. Ronnie serves as a moral compass, offering Caine fleeting glimpses of a life less burdened by the weight of circumstance. Smith delivers a potent counter-narrative to the destructive masculinity surrounding her.

J. Cole Skips “Jada And Will Love” Line While Performing “No Role Modelz”

J. Cole recently made headlines when he noticeably skipped a line from his hit song “No Role Modelz” during a live performance. Specifically the line he skipped referenced “that Jada and that Will love.” However, this particular lyric from the song had garnered significant attention due to its allusion to the personal lives of the famous Hollywood couple, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. J. Cole’s decision to omit the line during his performance immediately sparked curiosity and discussion among fans and media outlets. The verse in question originally reads: “I want a real love, dark-skinned Aunt Viv love. That Jada and that Will love. That leave a toothbrush at your crib love. And you ain’t gotta wonder whether that’s your kid love.”

Moreover, the change in the performance was seen by many as a deliberate move by J. Cole, potentially aimed at respecting the privacy of the Smiths and not engaging further in a topic that had already gained substantial media attention. In recent years, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith had been at the center of several controversies and discussions surrounding their marriage and personal lives, making it a sensitive subject for public commentary. Furthermore, Jada Pinkett Smith in particular has been speaking out lately on their relationship and revealing that the two of them have actually been separated for some time.

However, the altered rendition of “No Role Modelz” raised commentary from social media. Many fans and observers expressed their support for J. Cole’s decision to skip the line, seeing it as a respectful gesture that prioritizes the feelings and privacy of those mentioned in the song. However, others saw it as him saying Will and Jada aren’t couple goals anymore. “He know don’t nobody want that “it’s complicated” type of love. Lol” one person wrote. “Please leave Cole out of that mess lol he always does that when performing the song to let the crowd sing along,” another person chimed in. “Lol I’m glad he skipped that line. He tired of her too,” someone else said.

Moreover, in other news, J. Cole just landed his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He’s featured on “First Person Shooter” with Drake on the For All The Dogs album. It’s safe to say Cole is enjoying the moment. What do you think about J. Cole skipping the Will and Jada line? Let us know your thoughts on HNHH.

50 Cent Trolled Jada Pinkett Smith With A Post Online To Demand That She ‘Free Will’ Following Her Recent Confession

50 Cent doesn’t back down in the recording booth or on social media. When he’s not brokering a business deal or performing in front of a sold-out crowd, the legendary rapper is maybe browsing his favorite apps for the day’s news. No one is off limits when it comes time for him to provide snarky commentary.

Last month, 50 Cent poked fun at Busta Rhymes for his NSFW onstage antics. Earlier in the week, he shared his opinion on who he believed was involved in Tupac’s murder. He even took aim at himself for his surprise performance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show. On Sunday, October 15, he decided to troll Jada Pinkett Smith with a social media post, demanding that she “Free Will Smith,” her longtime husband.

In the Instagram post, 50 Cent uploaded a screenshot of her latest confession to The New York Times, in which she admitted to sell illicit drugs when she was a teenager. In the caption, he wrote, “Alright, enough is enough. Free Will Smith. Wtf is going on,”

Pinkett Smith’s admission is one of the stories featured in her latest memoir, Worthy, which will hit book sleeves and online retailers on October 17. Find more information here.

Jada Pinkett Smith Gifted Terror Squad AF1s, Fabolous Suggets Initials Are For Tupac Shakur

By now, most of the internet has grown tired of the never-ending headlines surrounding Jada Pinkett Smith and her juicy new memoir. The mother of two didn’t hold back when reflecting on the ups and downs of her life, from her marriage to Will Smith (which she’s since confirmed has seen them living separate lives since 2016) to her close friendship with the late Tupac Shakur. Though she says she didn’t have romantic feelings for him, Jada is under the impression that the “All Eyez On Me” hitmaker was her “soulmate,” and also alleged that he struggled with alopecia, similarly to her.

Even before we knew the finer details of what was going on behind closed doors in Will and Jada’s life, the internet often clowned The Fresh Prince actor for his wife’s inability to let Tupac go. Things are only becoming more intense amid the memoir’s debut. Still, Will remains unbothered and focused on his own energy. For her part, The Matrix actress continues to promote her book while linking up with other celebs – some of whom have given her epic gifts.

Among them is Fat Joe, who came through with an exclusive pair of Terror Squad Air Force 1 sneakers for Jada. Of course, she was happy to add the shoes to her collection, but there are still some who are trying to bring Tupac into the situation. As Fabolous pointed out, the TS initials on the kicks could just as easily represent the Baltimore native’s full name as it does Joe’s New York-based rap group. Elsewhere online, others have pointed out that they might even be seen as standing for “The Slap,” when Will struck Chris Rock across the face at the Oscars for insulting his co-parent.

The hottest topic in pop culture news this week has definitely been the controversy surrounding Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir. Besides addressing her unconventional marriage to Will, the Girls Trip actress also reflected on her past selling hard drugs as a teenager. Jada Pinkett Smith Wants Will Smith & Her To Heal & Get Closer After Revelations

Despite all the drama and discussion around her upcoming memoir Worthy, Jada Pinkett Smith seems like she’s already looking to the future. Moreover, she recently joined The Today Show on Monday morning (October 16) and spoke to Hoda Kotb about her relationship with Will Smith. What’s more is that the actor even posted a hilarious and cheeky response to all this on Instagram. His latest post is captioned “Notifications off :),” and shows him taking a nap on a boat amid a flurry of notifications. The message is clear: the 55-year-old is not letting any of this gossip and heated debate get to his head, and his wife even commented on it with some laughing emojis.

Jokes aside, we actually did get his first public response to all this thanks to an email sent to The New York Times. During their interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, they said that her memoir “kind of woke [Will Smith] up,” or rather, that said feeling is how he would describe it. “She had lived a life more on the edge than he’d realized. She is more resilient, clever and compassionate than he’d understood,” they paraphrased his thoughts on the matter, and later directly quoted him. “When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in. You can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties,” the Philly native expressed. As such, it seems like she has his full support, and that the couple is sticking together amid all this.

Will Smith Slyly Addresses Jada Pinkett Smith Revelations On Instagram

With this in mind, for this new Today interview, Jada Pinkett Smith spoke on what she wants her future with Will Smith to be like. “There’s no finding another great love, and I think that’s the point,” the Baltimore native shared “It’s like we are in a place now that we are in a deep, healing space. And we are really concentrating on healing the relationship between us. There’s no divorce on paper. We really have been working hard. That’s the whole thing. We are working very hard at bringing our relationship together. Back to a life partnership.

“Here’s the thing about husband-wife marriage for me, for my healing process,” she continued. “I came into that with very specific ideas that were blocks to me seeing Will as who he is. He can’t be this perfect, ideal guy husband. I have to be able to accept him for the human that he is, he accepts me for the human that I am. And we want to love each other there.” She thinks that this memoir experience has brought them even closer together, and only brought things publicly now because they needed time to figure out who they were and what they wanted to be. Jim Jones Skeptical About Jada Pinkett Smith Selling Crack As A Teen: “We Need To Go See If They Got Some Fiends That Can Verify”

More revelations about Jada Pinkett Smith’s discoveries of hard drugs and psychedelics continue to be shared with the world. The actress and “wife” of Will Smith recently put out her controversial memoir, Worthy, back on October 4. As of now, it is receiving plenty of backlash and comments from everyone. Names like Chris Rock, who was involved with the viral Academy Awards slap, have made plenty of remarks around it. Others include Will, of course, 50 Cent, Stephen A. Smith, and plenty more.

One more we can add to the list is Dipset rap legend, Jim Jones. In a recent AllHipHop piece, Jim is calling out Jada for her drug-dealing past as a teenager. In her memoir, she details that selling crack and other hard substances was the way to make money in Baltimore. “I decided to sell drugs.” Smith continues,  “Growing up, the drug dealers were the ones that had affluence. That’s what we readily saw as success.” Jim is wanting to hear from the supposed fiends that Jada was selling to back in the day.

Jim Jones Wants Answers About Jada Pinkett Smith’s Past

In the video above, Jim appears to be flabbergasted at the idea that she was moving like that as a kid. The rapper now wants to hear from Smith’s customers. “If you sold crack in the nineties, nine times out of ten, there’s still some crackheads in the neighborhood that can vouch that you were selling that butter.” He continues, “We need to go check and see if they got some fiends that can verify, validify that she was selling that she had that butter on the block for sale.” While Jim and others are skeptical about this, Jada has heavily references to drugs in her book, so maybe she is being truthful?

What are your initial thoughts on Jim Jones calling out Jada Pinkett Smith and her selling crack during her childhood? Are you on Jones’ side, or do you trust that Jada Pinkett Smith is telling the truth? If Jada and Will Smith did not have such a rocky relationship, would her memoir be this controversial? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Will Smith’s Reaction to Jada Pinkett Smith’s Book and Interviews: ‘I Applaud and Honor You’

Will Smith 1024x679 1

Will Smith has an official quote out regarding various reveals from Jada Pinkett Smith across the media last week. The New York Times quoted the A-list actor in another interview with his wife.

“When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties,” Smith said.

Smith added a letter to another appearance of an estranged wife, which will be on the On Purpose podcast hosted by Jay Shetty.

“I applaud and honor you. If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would’ve hugged you more,” Smith wrote. “I’ll start now. Welcome to the Authors Club. I love you endlessly. Now go get some Merlot and take a rest.”

Last week, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she could have been Tupac’s wife. Sitting with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson for the All the Smoke podcast, Pinkett Smith revealed that Pac proposed to her while he was locked up in Rikers Island.

“Seeing him there, the condition that he was in and having to leave him there,” Pinkett Smith said. “He was in bad shape. And so, when he asked me to get married, he was at Rikers

“I knew at that time that he needed somebody to do time with him, which I was gonna do anyway. He didn’t have to marry me to do that. I’m here. He needed a rock. Because of our friendship and everything we had been through together, he just wanted to feel that solidified foundation.”

Pinkett Smith believes that Tupac would have divorced her as soon as he exited prison. You can hear it all from her below.

In a separate interview, Jada Pinkett Smith officially stated what many across Hip-Hop believed was in her heart: Tupac was her soulmate.

Speaking with journalist Christal Jordan at RollingOut, Pinkett revealed that Tupac was her soulmate and believed they shared past lives.

“There is all kinds of definitons of soulmates,” Pinkett Smith said. “If there is such a thing as past lives I definitely think Pac and I have traveled a few together.”

Pinkett Smith says she never regretted attempting to make a romance because there was no chemistry between the two.
