Cam’ron & Mase Beef: Former Takes Responsibility For Past Falling Out With “It Is What It Is” Co-Host

After seeing how well Cam’ron and Mase work together on It Is What It Is, viewers who are less educated in the subject of hip-hop history are beginning to question why the two stars were ever at odds in the first place. To help satisfy their curosity, the Dipset alum addressed the situation during a new interview on the All the Smoke podcast, which finally landed on YouTube this week. During his sitdown, Killa Cam recalls taking Jim Jones’ advice to bring a real gun to his Paid in Full audition, and takes responsibility for the role he played in his drama with Mase.

“Mase gave me an opportunity to get my first record deal,” the 47-year-old said. “He did a video for me – my first video ‘357,’ which was dope. And then I had another single with him, ‘Horse & Carriage,’ and he didn’t do that video so my label started gassing me like, ‘Yo why your man ain’t doing the video? He want $50,000 to do the video.’” At that time, Cam’ron was younger and more ego based, allowing himself to feed into the narratives about his friend, leading to them falling out but eventually becoming cool again.

He also told the podcasters that seeing Mase spending time strengthening his connection to God put a rift between them. “Then you know, he went to church. I kinda didn’t understand it at the time because that’s my man all day and I’m like, where church come from?” the multi-talent recalled pondering. “So I started bugging out on him because of that. To be honest with you, the whole s**t was my fault and just not understanding the kind of path he was on at the time. So I kinda was going at him on records and shit and he was ignoring me and shit, then one day he made ‘The Oracle’  and kinda flushed me one day. I was like, ‘That was pretty tough.’”

Anthony Edwards Receives Staunch Advice From Cam’ron & Mase Amid Abortion Scandal

Anthony Edwards is currently in the news for a huge story that broke over the weekend. Essentially, a woman came out and leaked text messages in which he can be seen asking the woman to get an abortion. Overall, she claims that she was pregnant with his child at the same time that Edwards’ girlfriend was also pregnant. Of course, Edwards did not want the child and immediately resorted to demanding an abortion. Subsequently, the woman obliged although she was clearly uncomfortable with the entire scenario.

Following this leak, Edwards told reporters that he was sorry for what took place and that it was not in his character. It was a heartfelt apology although the damage was already done, in a sense. Now, many are commenting on the Edwards situation as they want to give the young man some guidance. Among those to do this was Cam’ron and Mase. Taking to It Is What It Is early this week, the two offered some sage advice for the young NBA superstar.

Cam & Mase Speak On Anthony Edwards

In the video above, Cam and Mase waste no time tackling the situation. In the eyes of Mase, Edwards needs to be more sensitive moving forward. He additionally noted that Edwards can’t rely on money to solve all of his problems. Furthermore, Cam chimed in noting that some women do not have good intentions. Consequently, you have to move properly, especially when you know that you have a large contract that may be attractive to people with bad motives. Needless to say, they just want the young man to be more careful.

Hopefully, Edwards is able to learn from this situation, moving forward. Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section below. According to the official YouTube channel that hosts each episode, as well as the podcast’s Instagram page, It Is What It Is streams at 8 a.m. on Monday through Friday and on Sundays.

During an interview with the outlet, Cam’ron spoke about his rise in sports media. “People just like to hear me talk ’cause they know it’s really no filter when I talk,” he said. “So, I’m offered all types of podcasts daily, from being a host to being a guest. I argue when I am on the phone with my n****s, and by the time I look at the phone, it says two hours and seven minutes. I’ll be like, yo, I’m getting the f*ck off the phone with you… So you got people who debate all day about sports. So when I said, “I want to do this sh*t,” I was like, yo, “a professional setting with real n**** dialogue or barbershop talk or beauty salon.”

Cam’ron Details Nia Long Run-In From Rich Paul’s Birthday Party

Cam’ron has detailed his recent run-in with Nia Long, after the two posed for a photo together at Rich Paul’s birthday party over the weekend. Their meet-up came after Cam revealed he once slid into Long’s DMs during an episode of It Is What It Is.

“I’m not with Nia. People are doing exactly what you’re saying. ‘Yo, Cam don’t fumble this.’ Look, I met Nia Long. She was very, very cool,” Cam began. From there, he revealed that the two shared a laugh over the bit, while Long described him as “funny” and “Hilarious.” Cam then asked, “Did you see my DM?” to which Long replied, “I seen it… Now, that was fly.” Cam concluded: “That’s it people. We took a couple pictures.”

Cam’ron Trolls Skip Bayless As “Complex” Ranks Him And Mase Higher On Sports Personalities List

Cam’ron took a shot at Skip Bayless after he and Ma$e were ranked higher than the Undisputed host on Complex‘s list of sports personalities. “Congrats 2 my big bros @stephenasmith and @shannonsharpe84 for securing the top spots!! And Thx @complex for the write up. Number 6 ain’t bad for our 9th month in business. And everyone before us is on TV.. we appreciate y’all!! Here’s some others on the list!! Hey skip!! Down there lol Yeah Murder!!! @rsvpmase @itiswhatitis_talk And thank you @underdogfantasy,” Cam’ron wrote on Instagram.

It Is What It Is has quickly become a fan-favorite sports show, despite the lack of sports expertise and it’s unorthodox home on YouTube. While there were rumblings earlier in the year that a major network was in talks to acquire the show, that does not appear to have come to pass. However, Cam’ron has been transparent about aiming high. His latest hints suggested that a major NBA legend will soon be joining the show’s main cast. It remains to be seen if that will still occur. However, It Is What It Is‘ star is shining bright and set to only shine brighter in 2024.

First Take Dominating Undisputed

However, losing out to Cam’ron and Ma$e isn’t the only thing that Bayless has had to deal with this week. According to Front Office Sports, over the last week of November and the first week of December, First Take averaged more than 5.5 times the viewership of Undisputed. Furthermore, November finished with the best monthly viewership figures in the 16-year history of First Take.

The gap between the two shows has only continued to grow over the second half of 2023. Despite a complete retooling, Undisputed has been unable to bounce back from losing Shannon Sharpe to ESPN back in June. No matter what Skip Bayless tries, including getting a live college commitment announcement on the show, nothing is helping close the gap with the Stephen A. Smith-led vehicle. Not even adding the likes of Lil Wayne has helped Undisputed catch up.

Cam’ron Reveals How He Wanted Jadakiss To Be His “It Is What It Is” Co-Host

Cam’ron and Mase have been killing it when it comes to It Is What It Is. Overall, this is a show that a lot of people have been loving as of late, and for good reason. It is a sports talk show that flips the traditional format on its head. Ultimately, it feels like a show that centers on two friends having a good time while talking about sports. These two are absolutely hilarious together, and there is never a dull moment to be found on the show. Furthermore, they continue to bring on some great guests.

Recently, Complex named them as part of their top 10 sports media personalities list. As part of this, Cam was interviewed and he gave some interesting information on the show’s origins. For instance, originally, the show was going to be with Jadakiss. However, due to some scheduling conflicts, Cam was set on doing the show by himself. Luckily, Mase stepped up to the plate, and the rest was history. Now, the show is doing better than anyone could have imagined.

He kept saying he’s gonna come, and it’s not his fault but he’s busy as well. But that was my plan to do this show with me and Kiss. One day I was like, I’ll do this shit by myself. I’m gonna just have guests, and I had Ma$e as a guest.”

Cam’ron Blasts Joe Budden For Defending Melyssa Ford

Cam’ron has responded to Joe Budden defending Melyssa Ford for her recent comments about Killa. “Ohh she’s an expensive escort? How much bro?” Cam’ron wrote over a clip of Budden’s defense. “Looking bad and sad! This wasn’t a wise decision! Move on y’all best bet,” the rapper also wrote as a caption for his post. Budden had gone in hard on Cam’ron over his original response to Ford’s comments. “I don’t give a shi-t about what any of these goofy a– n-ggas got to say. That sh-t is performative. I’m not with none of this performative sh-t. You think you got a lawsuit? Call your lawyer. You got enough lawyers, I think they’ll advise you against it.”

Furthermore, Budden had been incensed by Cam’ron wild threats against Ford. The It What It Is host had originally gone after the fact that Ford is Canadian. “Tread lightly. Be careful ’cause I’ll tell you one thing: I know a lot of people at ICE. I’ll have you escorted back up across the border. It screams desperation. We’ll get a petition to get you out the country. Cut it out,” Cam’ron warned.

Additionally, Ford was originally commenting on a wild story that Cam’ron told on It Is What It Is at the end of November. “Well, we was gangbanging b-tches. I remember one time — don’t let me talk about the past — we was at this whore house, me and Murda. So we left the b-tch out the wh-re house. I had a lil’ stash crib over there between 7th and Lennox and we brought this b-tch over there,” Cam’ron began beside a mortified Ma$e.

However, Cam’ron was far from finished. “Mase was on the way up, he was popping, he didn’t have his deal but it was about to happen. We so Harlem the b-tch sucked — pardon me ladies — sucking his d-ck so I gotta wait to get my d-ck sucked because I’m not hard yet, pause. So when he’s done hitting it I go get head. And he’s hitting it from the back. He started hitting her, ‘You wasn’t sucking my d-ck like that.’ Yeah, that’s my n-gga,” Cam’ron continued.

Cam’ron Is “Goofy” And “Performative” According To Joe Budden As Podcaster Defends Melyssa Ford

Joe Budden has come to the defense of Melyssa Ford after Cam’ron went after her for comments she made about a story he told on It Is What It Is. “I don’t give a shi-t about what any of these goofy a– n-ggas got to say. That sh-t is performative. I’m not with none of this performative sh-t. You think you got a lawsuit? Call your lawyer. You got enough lawyers, I think they’ll advise you against it.”

Budden was speaking after Cam’ron went absolutely scorched earth on Ford for implying Cam’ron and Ma$e had sex with an underage sex worker. “Tread lightly. Be careful ’cause I’ll tell you one thing: I know a lot of people at ICE. I’ll have you escorted back up across the border. It screams desperation. We’ll get a petition to get you out the country. Cut it out,” Cam’ron warned.

Why Is Cam’ron Dissing Melyssa Ford From The ‘Joe Budden Podcast?’

cam'ron podcast

For the past few days, podcast hosts Cam’ron and Melyssa Ford have been going back and forth, generating quite a bit of buzz among the fans of both shows as the two millennial favorites unfurl their friction for all the world to see.

If you are up on everything that’s happened, here’s a quick refresher.

Who Is Melyssa Ford?

Ford, who currently appears as a co-host on The Joe Budden Podcast, started her career much like her co-host and her new rival — in the world of rap. However, where they rose to fame behind the mic, she did so in front of the camera as an in-demand video vixen, appearing in clips from the likes of Jay-Z, Ghostface Killah, Mystikal, Jadakiss, and Usher. In the mid-2010s, after making a run at a film and television career, she made the pivot to podcasting, appearing on the Hollywood Unlocked show until 2020 when she started her own show. She joined the Joe Budden Podcast earlier this year.

What Did Melyssa Ford Say About Cam’ron?

It was during a recent episode of Joe’s show that Ford started the feud. Responding to Cam’s on-air anecdote about a wild trip to a brothel in the ’90s, Ford wondered aloud, “Is there a distinct possibility that there may have been underage girls in that whore house?” While she was chastised by her co-host, when Cam learned of her comments, he went all the way off.

What Did Cam’ron Say About Melyssa Ford?

Back on Cam’ron’s show, It Is What It Is with fellow Harlem rapper Mase, the de facto Dipset top man addressed Ford’s remarks, saying, “Tread lightly. Be careful ’cause I’ll tell you one thing: I know a lot of people at ICE [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement]. I’ll have you escorted back up across the border [Ford is originally from Canada]… It screams desperation. We’ll get a petition to get you out the country. Cut it out.”

Ford later apologized, but Cam wasn’t having it. During an Instagram Live stream, he denied her suggestion that and Mase had sex with underage girls, then called her apology “fake” and accused her of escorting herself.

“First of all, I only like older b*ches,” he said. “Second of all, it was 1992 — we were underage! I just turned 16!” Shutting down her apology, he fumed, “You can’t just say sh*t like that and two days later be like, ‘Oh, my bad. I wasn’t thinking.’ You damn right you wasn’t thinking! Why say that in the beginning?… I could’ve went straight to: Ice-T f*cked you in the bathroom for $2,000 when you was doing waitressing. I didn’t even go there! You used to f*ck in the bathroom at the Kit Kat Club or one of them old-ass clubs. Stop, you a video vixen!”

He also couldn’t help getting in a jab at his fellow rapper turned show host (who can’t seem to stop getting himself into these situations). “Shout out to Joe Buddens for hiring all these washed n****s,” he cracked. “You should open up a dry cleaning.”

Cam’ron & Mase Seemingly Suggest They Once Slept With Lil Kim & Foxy Brown

Cam’ron and Mase insinuated that they both slept with Lil Kim and Foxy Brown back in the day during the latest episode of It Is What It Is. While discussing NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki’s recent admission that the two rappers were his childhood crushes, Cam and Mase jokingly referred to them as their “old joints.”

“Dirk’s one of us!” Mase joked. “I knew Dirk was a n***a, yo. I knew there was a reason we liked Dirk. Foxy Brown and Lil Kim? The n***a got ratchet taste! He definitely does. He’s the leader in ratchet. Shout out to Foxy, shout out to Lil Kim. Those are my peoples, I love them.” From there, Cam added: “He like our old joints. You had one, I had one. I think. I don’t know, maybe I’m buggin.’”

As for Dirk, he revealed Brown and Kim as his crushes during an episode of Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson’s All the Smoke podcast. He said: “Childhood crush? I mean the ’90s? I mean, Lil Kim. Foxy Brown.” Foxy ended up responding to Dirk’s admission in a comment on social media. She wrote: “[Love] u DIRK Haaaaaaaa![fire emojis] HEAVY ON DAT OREO LIFE!!!!! @swish41 [laughing emoji] WHAT WOULD Y’ALL NAME IT? [laughing emojis].”

A fling with either Foxy Brown or Lil Kim isn’t the only romantic relationship Cam’ron has discussed on It Is What It Is lately. Following Nia Long’s split from Ime Udoka, Cam’ron sent the actress a DM in an attempt to win her over. Unfortunately for Cam, he was unsuccessful. Be on the lookout for further updates on Cam’ron and Mase on HotNewHipHop.
