Memphis Bleek Has A Theory On Why Nicki Minaj Hates JAY-Z So Much

Memphis Bleek knows JAY-Z about as well as anybody in hip hop. He was Hov’s right hand man during the peak of Roc-A-Fella Records. When he has something to say about the man, there’s a lot of street cred that comes with it. This is why Memphis Bleek’s input on September 10 was so welcome. The hip hop world was still shocked by Nicki Minaj’s vitriol towards JAY-Z after the Super Bowl Halftime Show controversy. It seemed to come out of nowhere. According to Bleek, though, there’s a specific reason why Minaj despises JAY-Z.

Memphis Bleek took to Twitter to present his theory. He didn’t air out Nicki Minaj, or even call her out by name, but the message was pretty clear. The rapper reposted a Hot 97 clip of JAY-Z talking way back in 2009. The Roc-A-Fella co-founder claimed that fellow artists only get mad at him whenever he fails to do something for them. “They don’t say I did anything to them,” JAY-Z says in the clip. “They say I didn’t do something for them.” Memphis Bleek implies that Nicki Minaj is one of the artists who fall under this tired pattern. “N**gas is mad mad,” he added.

Memphis Bleek Thinks Nicki Minaj Is Acting Entitled

Memphis Bleek may have a point. Nicki Minaj and JAY-Z both hail from New York, but there has never been a particularly close dynamic between them. Minaj and Hov rapped together on Kanye West’s hit “Monster” in 2010, but have never appeared on each other’s respective albums. Nicki Minaj also said that she wanted to “dethrone” JAY-Z during a 2012 interview with Allure Magazine. She explained that she made her bold proclamation to the rapper’s face during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m coming for you,’” Minaj recalled. “‘I’m coming for your spot, Mr. Mogul.’”

It doesn’t help, of course, that Nicki Minaj’s boss, Lil Wayne, and label mate, Drake, has also had tense dynamics with Hov over the years. Roc Nation and Young Money don’t seem to mix, which does support Memphis Bleek’s theory. The notion that JAY-Z didn’t pick Weezy for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, or the Young Money crew as a whole, is an instance of him not doing something for Minaj. There’s decades of additional history and context to take into account. At the end of the day, though, Bleek’s theory is still pretty solid.

Slim Jxmmi Threatens To “Slap The ‘A Bay Bay’” Out Of Hurricane Chris Amid Super Bowl Argument

Hurricane Chris and Slim Jxmmi have been trading shots on social media over the NFL’s choice to have Kendrick Lamar perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. After Chris compared the situation to his recent complaints about 50 Cent’s lineup to his Humor & Harmony festival in Shreveport, the Rae Sremmurd rapper trolled him on social media.

“So now you n****s understand it, huh? Same sh*t that I was just saying 50 Cent did in Shreveport, now it’s happening in New Orleans on a bigger scale,” Chris said. “People like Master P come in on it, so now everybody understand? I just made this same f*cking statement.” In response, Jxmmi commented: “BRUH! AINT NO WAY YOU STILL REACHING! [crying face emoji].” That prompted Chris to respond with, “@slimjxmmi mind yo business unless you wanna see these hands bruh on god what’s poppin,” to which Jxmmi threatened, “I’ll slap the ‘A Bay Bay’ out this n***a [100 emoji].”

As for the rest of Chris’ argument, he explained: “When you come to the South, y’all gotta show more respect than this. We got our own culture here. N****s coming down here laughing, playing games, thinking they just gonna use their money and take over everything. It ain’t going down like that. We going back to that old f*cking law. You n****s stepping on turf gon’ do what you supposed to do, or you gon’ pack your sh*t up and get the f*ck on.”

Trick Daddy Embarrasses Yung Miami With Childhood Throwback

Trick Daddy shared a throwback photo of himself and Yung Miami on Instagram on Monday without clueing fans into the identity of the young girl. “I’ve taken so many pics thru out my career but who can guess who these kids here!!” Trick asked in the caption of the post. When The Shade Room reshared the image, Yung Miami hopped in the comments section to reveal she’s one of the girls. “Fr shaderoom delete me,” she wrote with laughing emojis. “That’s me and my sister yall @itsmekcee25 we was to ugly omg.”

Other fans in the comments made plenty of jokes about the image. “Trick looking like he finna beat up the cameraman after he get done taking pictures,” one user wrote. Others brought up Miami’s past relationship with Diddy. One fan came to her defense in that regard: “Can yall stop bringing up Diddy every time you see her please? She had a name before him and she’s still doing her after him. Let it go.”

Trick Daddy previously made headlines for claiming that fans are more interested in Yung Miami than her City Girls partner, JT. He had been referring to Miami’s Revolt series, Caresha Please, while discussing her on It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper. “I’m not saying that to the talent-wise, ’cause the City Girls is the hottest group out there talent-wise,” he clarified at the time. “I’m talking about for the stuff that she is promoting. Now, I seen Caresha on her podcast, she had P. Diddy on there blushing like a 14-year-old boy. She got something down there, you feel me? Tyler, The Creator Calls Out Kanye West For Using Backing Tracks In Concert

Tyler, The Creator and Kanye West admire each other’s music. They’ve collaborated multiple times over the last decade. The former has cited West as a major musical influence on several occasions. Tyler will speak his mind when something annoys him, though. Kanye West posted footage of him performing the track “On Sight” during his recent concert in Korea, and Tyler, The Creator took to the comment section with some feedback. He wasn’t mean about it, but he did make it clear to West and the fans that he was annoyed with what he saw.

First, the footage. Kanye West is clearly letting the backing tracks do most of the work during the show. “On Sight” is a high energy song, but the rapper seems pretty laid back and content to just vibe out while the crowd sings along. Tyler, The Creator wasn’t thrilled. He left a comment on West’s page calling him out for being lazy on stage. “N**ga u was right there,” Tyler wrote. “Just say the words!!!!” He tried to take some of the sting out of his critique by throwing a few heart eye emojis, but his point stood.

Tyler The Creator Has Worked With Ye For Over A Decade

Tyler, The Creator may have songs with Kanye West, but he’s been accused of dissing the rapper in the past. A fan theory developed around the 2023 song “Stuntman,” in which many fans assumed Tyler was taking aim at the “Carnival” hitmaker. He was not. Tyler, The Creator clarified this misconception during an interview with Rap Radar. “[People] have terrible comprehension skills,” he told the podcast hosts. “I would never diss—like, no, I love that n**ga. And that is not about him. It’s actually about the rest of the world.”

Kanye West has reciprocated the positive energy. He praised Tyler, The Creator’s fashion sense as far back as 2013. “[He’s an] artist, innovator, and a good mentor,” West told 97.1 AMP Radio. “Because he’s so talented and understands things.” It goes without saying that Kanye West and Tyler, The Creator are very different people than they were in 2013 (especially West), but mutual admiration still seems strong. Hopefully West starts rapping live again, and the two of them can continue to work together.

The Weeknd Announces Release Date For New Single “Dancing In The Flames”

The Weeknd loves to be cryptic. It’s been a foundational element of his persona since he broke out in 2011. The pop star has kept it going strong with the rollout for his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. There’s been teaser videos, cryptic messages, and now we finally have a proper single. Well, at least, a release date for a proper single. The Weeknd took to social media on September 9 to unveil the title and release date for his lead single, “Dancing In the Flames.” And it’s sooner than you’d think.

The Weeknd broke the news to excited fans via Instagam. He posted the artwork for “Dancing In the Flames,” which is, of course, very dramatic. The teasers for Hurry Up Tomorrow suggest a lot of deep reflection and emotional examination. Liberation, and perhaps even growth, seem to be themes hinted at in the promo rollout. “Dancing In the Flames” is no different. The Weeknd is posited in the lower left hand corner, adorned in sunglasses. Meanwhile, a bright orange, sun-like object is in the top right, shining on him. The release date? Friday, September 13. That’s right, fans will get to hear the first phase of the new Weeknd era in less than a week.

The Weeknd is known for having a tight grip on his rollouts. Unfortunately, Hurry Up Tomorrow has not gone according to plan, so far. The album was reportedly leaked online on Sunday, September 8. It was widely theorized that the leak came as a result of pre-order vinyls being shipped. Not only were songs leaked online, but the entire tracklist was as well. Assuming the leaks are accurate, Hurry Up Tomorrow will include a lone guest appearances from Coldplay.

The single that has since been announced, however, “Dancing In the Flames,” was not on leaked vinyl tracklist. This could be mean numerous things. For one, the vinyl leaks that made their way online could be fake. It wouldn’t be the first time a high profile release fell victim to clout-chasers online. It could also mean The Weeknd made tweaks to the tracklist if the leak was indeed legitimate. Big Sean had to deal with a similar situation when his album Better Me Than You leaked online weeks before its release. We hope The Weeknd manages to sell better, though.

Mariah Carey Getting Ready To Perform Again After “Couple Of Rough Weeks”

According to TMZ, Mariah Carey is getting ready to tour once again. In a recent Instagram post, the R&B icon shared a short clip of her powerfully singing and prepping for said upcoming performances. She will be heading across the globe to China and then eventually Brazil (or vice versa) very soon. However, at the time of writing, nothing is officially set in stone just yet. But despite all that’s happened, she seems to be excited to get back onstage and perform in front of thousands. “Back at work. It’s been a couple of rough weeks, but I appreciate everyone’s love and support so much”, she said. “I can’t wait to see my fans in China & Brazil. Love you! ”.

Of course, those “couple of rough weeks” are a reference to the passing of her mother and sister. Both Patricia (87) and Alison (63) died on the same day during the weekend of August 23. Still, no one knows the causes of their deaths. There’s also the off chance that Mariah is talking about catching some flak from a friend of Alison’s in regard to not reaching out and that the singer knew about her sibling’s condition.

Carey never addressed the matter publicly, but there’s probably a chance she talked to David Baker behind closed doors. He accused her of being aware about her dwindling life expectancy for about a month. Alison was reportedly heartbroken about never getting a “phone call or, better still, a video call”. Tyrese Claims That He Could Be Arrested Soon Over Ongoing Divorce & Child Support Drama

Tyrese Gibson dropped another bombshell claim about his ongoing divorce with Samantha Lee on his Instagram on Sunday (September 8). Moreover, he fears that authorities will arrest him in Atlanta court tomorrow due to Lee’s lawyers allegedly being allies of the judge in the case, Kevin M. Farmer. The judge apparently demanded that the actor and singer cancel his press run for his movie and album, and Gibson said that they will appeal all the rulings after trying multiple times to assure Farmer’s recusal. Also, he claims that the judge illegally cracked his prenup agreement to increase one of his child support payments.

As you can see in the IG post below, this is all a very complicated and contentious situation, one that Tyrese has been very open and emotional in speaking on. His recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, for example, was a tough moment for him. It didn’t help that Joe Budden and others online called this appearance “bitter” and felt like the Los Angeles native was doing too much. Gibson actually called Budden out on social media, stating that he can’t relate to how he actually feels because he’s never been married.

Another point of contention for Tyrese was how there are co-hosts on Joe Budden’s podcast that are more loyal and respectful to him than the Slaughterhouse MC himself, despite their long bond. This all arrived at a very difficult time, because Gibson had planned a social media break. As we see now, this clearly didn’t last long. Considering all that’s going on right now, we don’t even know if this is a possible avenue anymore. Nevertheless, all we can hope for is that he prioritizes real-life fulfillment, peace, and satisfaction rather than ignoring that to seek online validation.

Meanwhile, on a lighter note, Tyrese discussed an interesting question with Shannon Sharpe during their Club Shay Shay conversation. “Who’s a bigger rapper globally? Most famous of the two. Jay-Z or Snoop Dogg?” he inquired. “If Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg were in a mall in Moscow, who would shut the mall down? [Snoop Dogg is the] biggest f***ing superstar in the world. That’s my big homie. Rich Homie Quan’s Dad Recalls One Of His Last Conversations With The Late Rapper

Rich Homie Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, has addressed his son’s death on social media, after he passed away, earlier this week at the age of 34. He said he is in “unbearable pain” after the tragedy and described himself as feeling like he’d been “crushed to a million pieces.” In another post the following day, he also recalled a conversation they had about spending time together while Quan was in Miami for an upcoming show. “I booked my flight, booked us a nice mansion to stay in not knowing my son wouldn’t be here to go with me. Moral of the tomorrow’s not promised. Enjoy life and make memories with your love ones!!!” he wrote.

When The Shade Room shared the posts on Instagram, fans showed love for their apparent bond in the comments section. “Man they had the coolest father and son relationship I’ve seen,” one user remarked. “They were best friends. Quan didn’t make a financial decision or business move without his daddy approval. They were so close. This shatters me.” Another wrote: “That man didn’t play about his daddy and his daddy didn’t play about him.”

Lamar isn’t the only person in Quan’s life to react to the news on social media. His girlfriend, Amber Williams, who found his body at their home in Atlanta, also shared a statement on Saturday. “This pain is unbearable,” Williams wrote. “The love you all have shown is an over flow. I truly appreciate everyone who’s reached out. I’m traumatized from a moment that’ll forever be in my head. I have nothing to prove because my love for my other half was ALWAYS shown, I had nothing to hide. Please respect me and the family at this time. Our house is no longer a home. Brian McKnight Slammed For Celebrating His Stepson With Moving Tribute As Biological Son Battles Cancer

Brian McKnight is facing backlash on social media for a pair of posts on his Instagram page from Friday. In one, he paid tribute to his stepson in honor of his birthday while in another, he discussed parenting for a new series he described as “Fatherhood Fridays.” In the episode, he didn’t mention his biological son, Niko, who is currently battling cancer.

“Trolling your biological children is childish especially at a time like this. You’re doing all that for an audience forgetting that GOD is the one truly watching,” one user commented on the birthday tribute. In response to the “Fatherhood Friday” video, one fan posted: “What about your other biological children. Are you not proud of them? Where are they in this?” Others did come to his defense. “Keep your head up B! Don’t listen to the haters!” one user wrote under the birthday tribute. “Your talent will always stand above the rest.” One more added: “He probably get more love from him then he do from his real son so that’s who he acknowledges. And I get it. Period. Celebrate those who celebrate you.”

Speaking about the situation during an Instagram Q&A in April, the singer put the blame on his ex-wife, Julie. He argued she told him to stay away, to which she labeled him a “liar” in a statement to Page Six.

In the “Fatherhood Friday” video, McKnight also called out someone by the name of Rick. “I wanted to have a guest today, but as you can see, I’m here by myself so I guess he wasn’t man enough to have a conversation about fatherhood,” he said.
