Kodak Black spent the first few weeks of 2024 in prison. That came after he was hit with some possession charges when police found him passed out in his car. Though the charges were eventually dropped by the judge, Kodak remained in police custody. But after a few weeks behind bars, he navigated through the legal system enough to secure his release. That wasn’t without the help of his lawyer though and the impact he had isn’t lost on Kodak. That’s why it’s no surprise that the rapper took to Instagram to shout out his legal advisor.

In a recent post to his story, Kodak shared a picture of the pair together. While it’s an older pic from May of last year, the timing of the post makes its intention clear. Underneath a repost of the picture fans react to Kodak’s lawyer once again coming in clutch for him. “His lawyer might be the goat no lie” one of the top comments on the post reads. “He got a gta lawyer fasho” another top comment reads. Kodak Black Hypes Up His Lawyer

At one point it looked like Kodak’s new legal battles could bring back some old struggles the rapper dealt with. He was famously pardoned by Donald Trump during the former president’s time in office. But in the days following his most recent arrest the sentence that was pardoned was brought back up. It was suspected that if Kodak pleaded guilty to another charge he might have to also serve the original sentence that was pardoned.

Last year, Kodak dropped his new album When I Was Dead. Numerous songs on the project like “Lemme See” and “Hope You Know” have racked up millions of streams in the months since it came out. Meek Mill Shouts Out Mystery Woman Who Raps His Song Perfectly, Fans Question It

Meek Mill is a big fan of his fans, often shouting out their praises on his social media or advocating for them in his messages and industry moves. Moreover, it’s no surprise that he would want to shout out a mystery woman (well, not mystery: she’s content creator Aggy Baby) that rapped his track “Whatever I Want” with Fivio Foreign on her Instagram Story on his own IG page. The Philly MC has always engaged in this type of behavior online, yet recent context seems to have made fans forget that. For example, many folks such as this commenter had another interpretation of this: “he’s still on this ‘look at me, I’m not gay’ tour!“

Furthermore, this narrative is something that has plagued Meek Mill in a nastily homophobic way (a sad two-way street) ever since he was implicitly mentioned in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy. This was his response to comedian Andrew Schulz making fun of this matter. “the first time I laughed at being gay,” the HEATHENISM rapper tweeted in response to Schulz’s joke with a bunch of laughing emojis. “But don’t with me in real life I May swing lol.”

French Montana Claims Streaming Numbers “Brainwash Artists” Despite Dropping 126-Track Album

French Montana has had a fascinating few weeks as far as sales numbers go. It started back in January when he announced his new album Mac & Cheese 5. He sold vinyl editions of the album for just $5, leading many fans to purchase copies who might not have otherwise. That turned out to be the first of a few tactics used to try and boost the total sales numbers of the album. But the most notable tactic came from its various releases on streaming services.

Platforms like Spotify and Apple Music got numerous versions of Mac & Cheese 5. In addition to the regular version of the album he also shared a Sped-Up version, slowed-down version, instrumental version, acapella version, and deluxe edition. All of those versions were additionally compiled together into a massive 126-track “Versions” album. The move was roundly criticized online and Montana was forced to defend his move, but didn’t do a great job at convincing fans. Now some new comments he’s making about streaming numbers have fans rolling their eyes in the wake of his move. Check out the remarks he made below.

French Montana Calls Out Streaming Numbers

In a recent interview, Montana claimed that artists are being “brainwashed” to try and get the highest possible streaming numbers. Additionally he expanded on his point saying that it’s changing the way people make music. “It’s taking the love out of music. People are not making the music that they love no more. People are chasing those numbers.”

The comments look even more hypocritical in the wake of his alleged vinyl fraud. Fans who ordered the $5 vinyls back in January are reporting that they were never received. 6ix9ine has had a pretty difficult past few months. Last year, he was arrested for assault in the Dominican Republic. He was accused of attacking two men at a recording studio. Clearly the rapper still has plenty of fans in the country as they mobbed both the spot he was arrested and the jail he was booked in and ultimately released from. Part of his release required him to stay in the Dominican Republic for 6 months, though it could end up being even longer than that. Now, a picture made the rounds online of the rapper participating in another condition of his release, anger management classes.

The picture shows the rapper sitting in a class looking like he isn’t paying very close attention to what’s going on. He’s staring at his phone while also being the only person in the photo not wearing a mask. As you’d expect, fans pulled up in the comments of the post with jokes. “Daniel papi you not paying the attention” the top comment on the post reads. “All them n*ggas look angry because they there 🤣🤣” another comment jokes. Jay Rock Shares New Snippet Filled With 2pac References

Last month, Top Dawg Entertainment promised that it would be a big year for the label. They revealed that all of their major artists would be releasing new projects in 2024. That big year is already underway as ScHoolboy Q released his first new album in 5 years earlier this month to major critical acclaim. SiR has his third album for TDE dropping later this month while SZA just shared “Saturn” the lead single from her upcoming SOS deluxe edition LANA. At some point Jay Rock is expected to join that release schedule and he just shared snippet to prove that he’s hard at work.

The snippet he shared has a vintage hip-hop flavor and isn’t shy about who it’s inspired by. Across just a few bars that he shared there are numerous references to 2pac. “Why we gotta die a legend like 2Pac?/ .38 special like Bishop, get your crew shot,” the opening lyric reads. It features a reference to Bishop, Pac’s character from the movie Juice. “t’s been 30-something years and they still beefing?/ Hit different when that bad blood be the reason,” the snippet concludes. The most recent of which is an R&B hitmaker in his own right, Robin Thicke. The “Blurred Lines” singer took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal how much he liked the song and even share his own cover version of it. “on repeat” he captioned a video of himself performing the track at his home playing keyboard and singing. The lawsuit heavily implies that the two may have had a sexual encounter, something Meek Mill has repeatedly refuted online since.
