Saweetie Reveals Warner Wouldn’t Clear Single She Teased, Defends Making “Retail” Music

Saweetie has been making some revelations on Twitter recently. That included responding to fans who are both asking for updates on new music and criticizing her for the music she has released. One fan pulled out receipts of a track the rapper shared that featured a sample of the Aqua song “Barbie Girl.” The track famously served as part of the instrumental for Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s hit “Barbie Girl” from the Barbie film soundtrack last year. Her response to the question was pretty candid. “Warner wouldn’t clear it,” she said in a quote tweet of the fan’s question.

In a different tweet, she was able to turn something negative into something positive. When someone criticized her on Twitter claiming that she makes “retail music” she had a hilarious response. In yet another quote tweet she said “retail music makes ppl wanna shop more i guess im helping the economy” she responded. In the replies of an Instagram post recapping the interaction, fans loved her response. “she always turns a negative into a positive,” one comment reads. “On gawd I be at the store holding my shazam to the ceiling when some fire sh*t playin” another hilariously jokes. Check out the interaction between the rapper and an online hater below.

Much of the fan buzz surrounding Saweetie recently has been over her relationship with YG. After the two broke it off earlier this year it didn’t take long for rumors of a rekindled romance to start. That began with Rolling Loud where YG performed alongside Tyga. He brought out Saweetie as a guest and the two shared a sensual moment on stage that grabbed fan’s attention. A few weeks later they went social media official all over again.

What do you think of Warner refusing to clear a song Saweetie shared a popular snippet of? Do you think the criticism that she makes retail music is fair, or does it have to do with what her label lets her release? Let us know in the comment section below.

Just an observation…” Check out the comparison between the two posts below.

Cam’ron Reveals What Caused His Beef With Nas & 50 Cent

Cam’ron went into detail while recalling his past feuds with Nas and 50 Cent on social media. Filming himself on a boat, he discussed how he ended up beefing with the rappers despite liking both of them. The comments come as Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J Cole, and many more artists have been involved in feuds in recent weeks.

“Nas is one of my favorite artists, if not my favorite artist,” Cam began. “When Nas dissed me, that sh*t hurt. I was like, ‘Damn, we grew up on Nas. What did Nas diss us for? Damn, this is crazy.’ So when he dissed me for no reason, I’m like, ‘Damn, I didn’t do nothing to Nas.’ But it was when I just signed to Roc-A-Fella. And I was like, ‘Damn man. Do we ignore Nas or do we respond to Nas?’ To me, our back was against the wall because we didn’t have no platinum album yet. Dipset was just developing. We didn’t have no albums out. When we dissed Nas, that was our second mixtape. We put out one mixtape and then Nas dissed us. The whole second mixtape is because of Nas. But we had to do that because I’m like, ‘Damn, we just getting in the door after a f*cked up deal I had at Sony.’ I’m like, ‘Our backs are against the wall. I would never diss Nas for no reason.”

From there, he discussed his relationship with 50 Cent. “That’s why I did it because I felt our back was against the door. When me and 50 Cent was going at it, that was fun,” he said. “Shout to my n***a 50. We good now too. But when 50 dissed me, it started with an argument on the phone. When me and 50’s battle started, it was because 50 had said, ‘Koch is a graveyard for a lot of rappers.’ At the time, Jim Jones had just went to Koch and some other deals we had at Koch. And you know, Jim Jones is Dipset. So we sitting there saying, ‘Damn, he called Koch the graveyard and Jim just did a deal.’ So we got into a little argument on the phone. To me, all that sh*t was just music. Even when me and 50 spoke, we was like, ‘Yo, let’s get to this money because certain sh*t is music and certain sh*t is not music.’ When it goes past music, that’s something different.”

Eminem Celebrates 16 Years Of Sobriety

Eminem celebrated 16 years of sobriety in a post on Instagram, on Saturday, by sharing a coin marking the number of years it’s been. While he didn’t provide any context in the caption, the coin has the number 16 on it. The legendary rapper famously suffered an overdose in 2007 that nearly cost him his life. He’s been sober since.

Paul Rosenberg, John Mayer, and many more voices congratulated him on his sobriety journey in the comments section. One fan wrote: “Well done and thanks for sharing the journey with us.” Another added: “Congratulations and thanks for sharing, especially to the ones who are trying to get through Day 1.”

Eminem previously reflected on his sobriety journey during a candid op-ed for XXL back in 2022. “Drugs became a part of the way I was living my life once I got signed,” he wrote at the time. “When I first came out to L.A., me and some guys I was hanging out with used to go to Tijuana and we would buy drugs. Vicodin and that kinda sh*t. I don’t know how many times we did it, but it was so easy to go back and forth to do it. The last time we went, we’re second in line and this dude in front of us starts arguing with the guy in Customs, and they f*ckin’ throw him down on the ground and start pulling pills out his pockets and sh*t. We were scared shitless, but we got through.” He explained that, had he been arrested, he “would’ve been done right then.”

DaBaby Walks Off The Set Of A YouTube Video In Newly Emerged Footage

Earlier today, footage hit the internet of DaBaby walking out of a planned YouTube video shoot. He was collaborating with YouTuber Michael Wright for his 20v1 series. A few rappers have already stopped by the show to talk to some of the 20 girls selected to participate and it’s spawned a few viral moments in recent months. But the “Suge” rappers episode didn’t seem to go quite as smoothly as a newly leaked video reveals.

In the footage, one particular woman is clearly making the rapper uncomfortable. She asks him a particularly NSFW question that he has no desire to respond to and when she refuses to let up he claims he’s being verbally harassed. The situation escalates with no intervention of any kind until he eventually walks off set and attempts to get that portion of the video deleted. In the comments, fans largely take DaBaby’s side and agree that it was the job of the production to do something as soon as they saw he was uncomfortable. Check out the video and fan reactions to it below.

Fans Defend DaBaby Walking Off Set

The top comments on the post nearly all take DaBaby’s side. “No lie, Baby kept his cool and tried to move forward . They let it drag . Good shi on his part” a top comment reads. “He was the special guest, they should’ve made that girl leave as soon as they saw he was uncomfortable” another agrees.

DaBaby dropped a pair of freestyles earlier this week that proves his work ethic is unmatched. He’s frequently tried his hand at the instrumentals behind some of the biggest rap hits of the day. That was the case when he released freestyles over “Like That” and “Get It Sexyy” in quick succession. What do you think of DaBaby walking off set of a YouTube video shoot after a woman clearly makes him uncomfortable? Do you think the production should have moved on to a different contestant when the situation started? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake Continues Trolling Kendrick Lamar With Diss Track Announcement

Over the weekend, Drake’s new diss track hit the internet. On the song “Push Ups,” he took shots at numerous superstars who have criticized him in recent weeks. That mainly focused on Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, and Rick Ross but is also rumored to include Future and The Weeknd. Fans got to hear the song and break down all of it’s lyrics for almost a week before it was officially released. Earlier today, the song finally hit streaming services.

Drake took to his Instagram story where he announced the songs release on Spotify and Apple Music. Unsurprisingly, he used the announcement as yet another opportunity to take a shot at Kendrick Lamar. “All platforms like the shoes you need… let’s get it bro.” the caption of his announcement reads. The song’s artwork also hilarious features the mark of a size seven shoe. Both the caption and art are references to a lyric in the song where he takes shots at Kendrick for his height and shoe size. Check out the announcement he made below.

Drake Cracks Joke About Kendrick Lamar Needing Platform Shoes

Throughout the beef, Joe Budden has been calling together podcast episodes to break down every new development. Some of the insight he and his guests provide to the proceedings has gotten fans pretty excited. During the newest episode one of his co-hosts compared Kendrick’s response track to 2pac’s “Hit Em Up” which got fans even more pumped to hear it.

Nicki Minaj is currently in the thick of her Pink Friday 2 world tour. She hit a pair of Canadian stops recently and in Toronto she had out a surprise guest. Though it wasn’t actually that surprising given the city she was in, Drake joined her on stage. What do you think of Drake using his single announcement as another opportunity to take shots at Kendrick Lamar? Do you think Kendrick needs to respond to the song with a diss track of his own soon? Let us know in the comment section below.

Tyga And Blac Chyna Drop Custody Battle, Agree To Joint Custody

Since last year, rapper Tyga and model Blac Chyna began a custody battle over their son King. At first, things seemed pretty hostile as stories leaked out into the media of dissonance between the pair. One memorable story claimed that Chyna was attempting to settle things outside of court, but the rapper refused. As a part of the custody feud, both parents were required to take court-mandated parenting classes, which they both completed last year.

News of their legal battle has slowed down quite a bit since then. Back in December, it was reported that the pair were close to a solution but the legal process itself took a few months. Now the two have formally agreed on a solution to their custody dispute. The pair have agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their son while also settling matters like visitation and attorney fees. The full details of their agreement aren’t available but it appears to be about as amicable an ending to the situation as possible. Check out what is known about their agreement below.

Tyga And Blac Chyna End Custody Battle

Last month, Tyga made a surprise appearance on one of the biggest tours of 2024 so far. He joined Nicki Minaj on stage during an early stop on her Pink Friday 2 world tour, which just made a pair of stops in Canada. Afterwards Minaj showed the “Taste” rapper some love on social media thanking him for joining her on stage.

Another strange story that spawned from the couples custody battle was their son King’s baptism. Attendees reportedly had to sign a hefty non-disclosure agreement just to get in. The agreement allegedly included $500k in fines for anybody who broke the agreement and shared information or video from the event. What do you think of Tyga and Black Chyna ending their custody battle with seemingly amicable results? Do you think the agreement they settled on is more of a victory for one parent than another? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake Taunts Kendrick Lamar Camp: “They Have Nothing To Drop”

Drake has been doing lots of typing since he dropped “Push Ups.” The rapper has trolled several of his enemies on Instagram, but the one he’s been most adamant about targeting is Kendrick Lamar. K. Dot’s lack of social media engagement had led Drake to target those close to the rapper. This include Lamar’s manager, Anthony Saleh, and Lamar affiliate DJHed. Drake taunted the latter after an IG post made note of the fact that Lamar hasn’t responded to the “Push Ups” diss. Not yet, at least.

The whole thing started as a string of tweets from DJHed. The music industry veteran criticized Drake for not putting “Push Ups” on streaming services. “The Canadian ‘responded’ after over a decade of being dared to come outside,” he wrote. “Still has yet to claim said ‘response.’ He’s now taunting Ant in an attempt to garner a reaction.” Ant, in this case, is the aforementioned Anthony Saleh. DJHed ended his tweet by insulting the quality of Drake’s music. “If you enjoy microwaved meal that’s on you,” he asserted. “We prefer cooked food on this side.”

Drake Suggests K. Dot Doesn’t Have A Diss Ready

DJ Akademiks posted the tweet on his Instagram, which led Drake to respond. The rapper dismissed DJHed’s claims and clowned Lamar for not having a response ready. “Use me as a ‘they have nothing to drop’ button,” he wrote in the comments section. It hasn’t been long since Drake released “Push Ups,” but the constant trolling, coupled with controversy surrounding Lamar’s fake AI diss, has made it seem longer. DJHed kept it moving by pointing out Drake’s reluctance to drop “Push Ups” on streaming. “‘B2B’ is up, ‘Duppy’ is up,” he wrote back. “Your ‘Push Ups’ song is not…”

DJHed’s reply is only partially correct. “Back to Back,” Drake’s 2015 diss against Meek Mill, is indeed on streaming. So is the Meek diss that preceded it, “Charged Up.” DJHed is incorrect in stating that “Duppy Freestyle,” however, Drake’s 2018 diss against Pusha T, is streaming. The song is not available on Apple Music or Spotify, so there’s a precedent for Drizzy keeping his disses “unofficial.” DJHed reposted the exchange on his IG with one final dig. He told Drake not to wait until the numbers come out before he “claims” his diss track, implying the rapper is only concerned about chart performance.

Regardless of who’s right, the next move from Lamar’s camp is going to be crucial.
