After months of anticipation — and a few delays — Kid Cudi’s ninth studio album Insano will finally be released this Friday, January 12. With a tracklist featuring guest appearances from the likes of ASAP Rocky, DJ Drama, Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Pharrell Williams, Travis Scott, and Young Thug, the album follows 2022’s ambitious multimedia project Entergalactic and was preceded by the single “At The Party.” He’s also got a whole slew of further projects coming this year, including a memoir and book tour. So, when can you expect to be able to hit “play” on Cudi’s latest?

Tour

Right now, Kid Cudi does not have any upcoming tour dates released. But he might in the future. A few days ago, he did confirm that there would be a world tour tied to the album that would start in June.

Kid Cudi’s ‘Insano’ Tracklist Includes Records With Travis Scott, ASAP Rocky, And Pharrell

It happened. This morning, January 8, Kid Cudi finally revealed the tracklist for Insano. In September, Cudi announced that he had “to push Insano back til January,” and now, it is one of Uproxx’s “Most Anticipated Albums Of 2024” list. It will also be one of the first significant drops of the year, as Insano is due out this Friday, January 12.

The 21-song tracklist boasts features from A$AP Rocky, DJ Drama, Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Pharrell, Travis Scott, Young Thug, and the late XXXTentacion. “At The Party” featuring Pharrell and Scott arrived in November, a worthy consolation prize to fans still crushed from December 2022, when Cudi put to bed any hope of a collaborative album from Cudi and Scott.

“INSANO is to be enjoyed from the beginning to the end,” Cudi wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Please if u can, refrain from jumpin around just to hear the features. Experience it like a film, put it on and let it ride. Trust me. I designed it that way for the best experience possible [smiley emoji, peace-sign emoji, praying-hands emoji, stars emoji] thanx.”

“INSANO” Tracklist Out Monday, Kid Cudi Encourages Fans To Listen On Shrooms

Kid Cudi has revealed that the tracklist for INSANO will drop on Monday. Furthermore, Cudi also noted that he would be revealing the album’s features at the same time. Fans were overjoyed at news about the album that has been a long time in the making. It will be Cudi’s ninth album and his first since 2022’s Entergalatic. However, Cudi will be hoping to break back into the top five for the first time since 2020’s Man on the Moon III: The Chosen.

Furthermore, Cudi encouraged his fans to experience the album while under the influence of shrooms. “@KiDCuDi me and my gf were wondering if you’d recommend taking shrooms and listening to the album. We took shrooms once and had a crazy visual trip, but we didn’t listen to any music. This would be our 2nd time. We love you cudi ♥🙏,” one fan asked. “Go for it!” Cudi said in response.

Kid Cudi Starring In Animated Sci-Fi Horror

However, INSANO is not Cudi’s only project in the works. He also revealed that he is returning to acting with a new animated vehicle, Slime. The Cleveland musician is set to star in and produce the film about two individuals who set off on a quest to find a cure for the side effects of a medical trial. The film will serve as the directorial debut of Jeron Braxton, an animator best known for Baby Demon. The script is the work of Brian Ash, best known for The Boondocks.

Cudi is set to play Glenn, a lab worker kidnapped by protagonist Muna as she searches for a cure for the trial that she underwent and that Glenn was involved in. It has not been revealed at this time who will be voicing Muna. This year, Cudi won an Emmy for his work in the trippy Netflix special, Entergalatic. He also had a supporting role in the Disney+ series Crater. However, the series was controversially pulled by the streaming platform after just a few weeks.

Not everyone’s been a fan of the teased material, but you can’t deny that his closeness and dedication to his fanbase brings a genuine sincerity to his craft.

Nevertheless, let’s get into Kid Cudi’s wild producer list for INSANO, which hints at a variety of sounds. Some standouts: BNYX, Pharrell, WondaGurl, Clams Casino, Cubeatz, Take A Daytrip, Da Honorable C.N.O.T.E., sadpony, Dot Da Genius, Plain Pat, John Cunningham, Keyon Christ, and so many more. The “Show Out” creative, as such, will probably offer fans a wealth of styles and appeals when it comes to this record’s tracklist. Will Kid Cudi Go On Tour In 2024?

So far, a highlight of the set of albums that are expected to be released in 2024 is Kid Cudi’s Insano. As fans wait on that, they may be wondering:

Will Kid Cudi go on tour in 2024?

It appears so, yes.

Currently, Cudi’s website does not list any upcoming tour dates, and none have been officially announced elsewhere. But, on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday (January 2), somebody asked Cudi if there will be a world tour in support of the album. He responded, “Yes!! Startin in June!”

Aside from his own tour dates, Cudi is set to open a couple of shows for Red Hot Chili Peppers this summer. In December, Cudi said that in support of his upcoming memoir, he plans to do “a little tour to bookstores around the globe doing signings.”

Meanwhile, another fan asked Cudi yesterday about when he’ll reveal the Insano tracklist and Cudi replied, “Day before the album. Features will be hidden. Ull discover when it drops.”

Somebody else asked Cudi what makes Insano stand out from his previous albums and he answered, “None of my albums was I truly this happy. None. Thats why this one means more than anything else. I went in surrounded by light. I hope u enjoy it.”

Kid Cudi has been hard at work on his new album, Insano. A few months ago, the rapper revealed that it will truly be a stacked record, as he is planning for it to have more than 40 songs.

“I ended up makin some more sh*t cuz I was in the f*ckin’ zone and I wanted to make something undeniable and change my entire live experience,” he posted on social media. “This album was made for tour next year. Get ready.”

According to Cudi’s bio on Twitter/X, his new album will be dropping on January 12. This has also been confirmed as a pre-order date on Republic Records’ official store. While not much else is known about Insano yet, it will likely include his recent “At The Party” collaboration with Pharrell and Travis Scott.

Back in September, the rapper had delayed the record’s release, pushing it instead a few months back. “I have to push Insano back until January,” Cudi announced at the time. “I want to make sure that everything lines up and I give y’all the best version of myself.”
