Over the weekend, chaos unfolded at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver, as Rick Ross was confronted by a group of alleged Drake fans. Reportedly, he had asked the DJ to play Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” at the event, prompting tension among attendees. In footage that circulated online after the incident, he’s seen getting punched in the face. Of course, this resulted in an all-out brawl between both crews.
As expected, the viral incident has earned Ross a great deal of clowning online. His ex-wife Tia Kemp has been particularly vocal, making it clear that she’s on Drizzy’s side with various posts. Recently, for example, he shared a photo of himself sipping orange juice on a jet. She took the opportunity to suggest that he was covering up his eye in order to hide injuries from the altercation.
“Hiding that [eye emoji],” she wrote in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section alongside a series of laughing emojis. According to him, however, he actually is unscathed. To prove it, he’s now shared a close-up of both of his eyes, laughing at the idea that he could have been hiding anything. Based on the clip, he didn’t walk away with any significant damage, though Kemp is likely to remind him of the attack any chance she gets from now on.
Earlier this week, for example, she said he was glad that the fight happened. She even went on to comment under one of Drake’s photos, prompting him to call her his “goat.” This got a response from Ross, who simply wrote, “pedo vs granny.” What do you think of Rick Ross getting jumped in Canada over the weekend? What about him taking to social media to refute his ex’s injury allegations? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
LaVar Ball is never afraid to give his unfiltered opinions on anything or anyone. Ever since his sons, LaMelo, Lonzo and LiAngelo were all over hoop mixtapes, the Big Ball Brand founder became a star in his own right. His personality is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but you have to respect how he has set up his sons for success. That is especially true for LaMelo and Lonzo, as both are valuable assets for their respective NBA franchises. However, they have not always been available due to recurring and long-lasting health complications. In fact, that is part of the reason why LaVar Ball feels that LaMelo and Zo keep piling up injuries.
The proud father of three recently sat down with CBS columnist Bill Reiter just days following the announcement from ESPN and the Hornets that LaMelo was done for the rest of the season. According to the Score, LaVar was not shy in calling out the “rooty-toot workouts” that the training staff puts together, as well as the “raggedy shoes” both of his sons wear. Mr. Ball explained that people feel he works his boys too hard when they train and that is why they keep accruing injuries. But he pushed back on that vehemently.
LaVar Ball Is Always Going To Protect LaMelo & Lonzo
“If you keep running them hills, you’re going to keep that power and that strength. But you start dealing with these rubber bands and doing this lightweight stuff, of course you’re going to start breaking down.” Later on, he also put some blame on the PUMA shoes that LaMelo sports every game. “A lot of things have to do with them raggedy shoes that Melo be wearing. Them shoes are not made the right way for him. That’s why he keeps tweaking his ankle every single time,” LaVar said. LaMelo Ball only played 58 games over the past two seasons, whereas Lonzo has not touched the NBA hardwood for about two years.
What are your thoughts on LaVar Ball blaming “raggedy shoes” and “rooty-toot workouts” for LaMelo and Lonzo’s injuries? Do you agree that training needs to be more rigorous in the NBA? Or is he just trying to deflect blame, why or why not? Will LaMelo and Lonzo go on to still be successful NBA players when they both return? Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding LaVar Ball, LaMelo Ball, Lonzo Ball, and the NBA. While the glitz and glamour of Hollywood often captivate audiences with larger-than-life spectacles, the reality of filmmaking is not always as glamorous as it seems. Behind the scenes, actors put their bodies on the line to bring characters to life, sometimes facing grave dangers in the process. From daring stunts to unexpected mishaps, the film set can be a perilous environment where serious accidents occur. Despite rigorous safety protocols put into place by studios and insurance agencies, there have been instances where actors have sustained severe injuries during production, serving as a stark reminder of the risks involved in the pursuit of cinematic excellence. Here are seven actors who were injured on set.
Tom Hanks delivered a truly inspired performance in the 2000 film Cast Away, including a shocking body transformation that required a prolonged break from production. What many fans may not realize when watching the film, however, is that the actor suffered a near-fatal injury on set while shooting on an island in Fiji. At some unidentified point during filming, Hanks developed a gash on his leg, which he had examined by a doctor.
After taking one look at the wound, the doctor informed Tom Hanks that he would need to go to an area hospital immediately, as the cut had contracted a serious infection that nearly claimed his life. The leading man fought the infection for three full days in a hospital room as production on the film paused. Thankfully, Hanks was able to make a full recovery and get back to work expeditiously, though the experience surely left him shaken.
6. Jeremy Renner – Tag (2018)
Jeremy Renner is another actor who experienced a serious injury on a film set. The MCU actor apparently broke both of his arms while shooting the 2018 film Tag, which centers on a group of adult friends who have continued the tradition of a long-running game of tag since childhood. During one particularly stunning sequence, Renner’s character attempts to evade his friends’ grasp by climbing up a 20-foot-high stack of more than two dozen chairs.
After some defective rigging caused one of the chairs to break, Renner tumbled from the mountain of chairs, leading to the action hero’s hospital admission. Portions of the finished movie reportedly required green-screening to obscure Jeremy Renner’s casts, as he returned to work almost immediately despite his broken bones. Renner has taken many licks in the past several years, both on and off the screen, and is currently still in recovery after a nearly fatal snow-plow accident that he suffered over a year ago. Luckily, the actor seems to be capable of bouncing back from nearly anything.
5. Jim Caviezel – The Passion Of The Christ (2004)
Mel Gibson’s 2004 feature The Passion Of The Christ has been the subject of a great deal of behind-the-scenes turmoil, leading many cast and crew members to believe that the production was cursed by God himself. Leading actor Jim Caviezel specifically suffered many injuries on the set of the 2004 film, including two lashings from a real whip, leaving behind a permanent 14-inch scar on his back. Caviezel also caught pneumonia and hypothermia from filming in extreme temperatures, and dislocated his shoulder from bearing the weight of a 150-pound cross, echoing the struggle of the real Jesus Christ.
The worst injury that Jim Caviezel experienced during the production of The Passion Of The Christ saw him being struck by lightning, which he was unable to take cover from because he was tied to the cross during the storm. The lightning strike caused Caviezel’s hair to burst into flames and resulted in injuries that required multiple surgeries and an untold number of prescription medications to get over.
4. Charlize Theron – Æon Flux (2005)
Charlize Theron starred in Æon Flux as a rebel spy working to free what’s left of humanity from their oppressive overlords in a sci-fi dystopia. The beloved actress, known for performing her own stunts in many of her films, nearly faced paralysis due to one particular scene in this 2005 thriller. While Theron has never explicitly identified the scene where the stunt occurred, she apparently fell and landed on her neck, resulting in long-term nerve damage. During an interview, Theron explained, “I ended up having a (neck) fusion four years ago, and it was the best thing I ever did. Now my body’s functioning perfectly again.”
3. Jackie Chan – Armour Of God II: Operation Condor (1991)
As one of the most prolific stunt performers in Hollywood history, Jackie Chan has sustained his fair share of serious injuries on set. Throughout his decades-long career, the 69-year-old actor has experienced broken bones, concussions, burns, and even a cracked skull. The worst injury that Chan ever suffered on set happened while filming the 1991 Hong Kong movie Armour of God II: Operation Condor.
During the scene, Jackie Chan was slated to leap onto a tree branch at a high height. After performing the stunt more than once to ensure the editors would have enough takes, the branch snapped, causing the actor to plummet to the ground and bash his head on a rock. A piece of Chan’s skull became fractured, and lodged itself in his brain, causing blood to stream from his ear. Despite the harrowing injury, Chan returned to finish the film shortly after receiving life-saving brain surgery.
George Clooney famously sustained an injury on the set of the 2005 film Syriana, with the tale of the gone-wrong stunt becoming arguably more well-known than the political thriller itself. During the filming of a torture scene, the Academy Award-winning actor, portraying a character tied to a chair, suffered an injury on set. The chair toppled over, causing Clooney to gonk his gourd, resulting in spinal fluid flowing out of his nostrils.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney explained, “I thought I’d had a stroke. It was like a train horn going off in your head, and you can’t see, and you can’t stand… Then we started doing these things called myelograms, where they shoot contrast into your system, and you can see what’s leaking out. I had a two-and-a-half-inch tear in the middle of my back and a half-inch tear in my neck.”
George Clooney fought for his life in the hospital for over three weeks suffering from excruciating pain after the ordeal, and ultimately considered taking his own life to put an end to the pain. Luckily, the Academy Award-winner was able to tough it out and eventually made a full recovery.
1. Brandon Lee – The Crow (1994)
The tragic story of Brandon Lee’s on-set accident while filming The Crow is one of the most infamous stories in all of Hollywood. While filming a scene where his character is shot by a group of thugs, a real revolver was utilized as a prop, and improperly loaded with dummy rounds. When shot while the cameras were rolling, Brandon Lee fell backward instead of forward, sustaining a fatal wound from a lead-tipped blank fired at close range.
The 28-year-old’s death was ruled an accident due to negligence and has been largely cited as a precedent for more stringent gun prop laws on film sets to this day. When a similar shooting incident occurred during the 2021 production of the still-not-yet-released film Rust, many film fans and film industry insiders cited the mishap as the worst misuse of a firearm on a set since The Crow. In the editing bay, with the use of body doubles and groundbreaking CGI techniques at the time, the filmmakers ultimately completed the film, allowing viewers to witness Lee’s final moments on the big screen.
Recently, Chrisean Rock took to social media to provide fans with some receipts from her latest battle with her ex, Blueface. According to her, she was recording some music with K Suave while her friend Marsh watched their son Chrisean Jr. when Blueface decided to stop by. He claimed that he had to “rescue” the child, popping off on Chrisean for leaving him with her friend to go hang out with another man. Marsh later revealed that he tried to fight her, however, she got away mostly unscathed. It appears to be a different story when it comes to Chrisean, however.
In new footage, she’s seen racing home to her son as she argues with Marsh and Blueface on the phone. It’s clear that Chrisean was distressed, attempting to get home as quickly as possible to avoid her child being taken. Though friends in the vehicle urged her to slow down, she refused, desperately trying to get to Chrisean Jr.
While Blueface claims that he was concerned about the child being left without a parent to look over him, Chrisean argues that he was simply jealous. During a recent Instagram Live, she talked about how volatile the rapper can be, accusing him of only ever visiting to have sex or to abuse her. She also revealed some injuries on her arms and legs, which she alleges were inflicted by him.
She recalled Blueface allegedly kicking her over a rug she received from K Suave, unveiling a gash on her shin. According to her, he even allegedly gave her a black eye during a recent physical altercation. Fans are urging the two of them to stay far away from each other. Clearly, things are only growing more dangerous as time goes on.

Contestants who starred in Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge reality show are seeking injury compensation for hypothermia and nerve damage. They argued poor health and safety regulations led to them sustaining the injuries in letters of claim to the streaming platform. The letters precede official legal action in England.
“From what we’ve been told they pushed the boundaries of safety in the name of “entertainment,” said David Slade, CEO at Express Solicitors, who sent the letters. “Production companies need to ensure that health and safety standards on their shows don’t leave people at risk of harm.”
During a response, a show spokesperson said the “welfare of our contestants extremely seriously,” as noted by Uproxx. Reports of injuries first began popping up back in January when the game, “Red Light, Green Light,” was filmed in freezing temperatures. “Everybody was warned that it was going to be cold, we took all the necessary steps to prepare them for that,” show officials said during the time. “Yes, a few anonymous people were unhappy about the fact they had been eliminated and it had been a cold, quite long experience. But it was no worse than many unscripted shows… when you’re giving away a huge prize it is always going to be clear to us it was going to be a tough show to take part in.”
The Trailer For “Squid Game: The Challenge”
“Contestants thought they were taking part in something fun and those injured did not expect to suffer as they did,” Slade further told The Sun. “Now they have been left with injuries after spending time being stuck in painful stress positions in cold temperatures. One client describes seeing someone faint, then people shouting for medics. We have a case where someone complains of hypothermia. One had his hands turn purple from the cold. Such injuries can have very serious long-term health implications. One of our clients complains of being given ill-fitting clothing despite the cold conditions.” Squid Game: The Challenge hit Netflix on Wednesday. It features 450 contestants competing for a prize of $4.56 million. Be on the lookout for further updates on the show on HotNewHipHop.
If you have been following the world of JELEEL!, then you know that he is one of the most energetic artists in the world. Overall, he is a mainstay of the festival circuit at this point. He is constantly delivering some spirited performances, and fans absolutely adore him. Over the last couple of years, he has been consistent with releasing new music. Furthermore, he is someone who is constantly going viral on social media, particularly TikTok.
Recently, however, JELEEL! was going viral on all corners of the internet. Unfortunately, it was for some pretty horrifying reasons. The artist was at the Nitro Circus event in California on Sunday. He tried to do their mega-ramp while on some sort of tricycle. However, halfway down the ramp, he careened off to the side and ended up falling face-first to the floor from a fairly high distance. It was extremely frightening, and fans were left wondering whether or not he was okay.
Following the fall, there was all sorts of speculation as to what went down. However, JELEEL! was able to quell people’s fears as he took to social media where he offered a relieving message. “I’m good y’all! Appreciate everyone’s concerns, walked out the hospital with a few stitches! Alhumdullilah!” he wrote. The artist looked a bit worse for wear considering one of his eyes was almost shut. Furthermore, the gash on his abdomen looked pretty gnarly. Regardless, he seems to be doing fine despite the height of the fall.
The Artist Responds
Hopefully, JELEEL! takes a bit of a break from being a daredevil. After all, getting involved in an incident like this would certainly act as a deterrent. Let us know what you thought of the stunt, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Foolio got shot in the foot in his home city of Jacksonville. “Keep Foolio my son in Yall prayers,” a post on his Instagram story read alongside a prayer emoji. “He was shot last night in his hating city.” For obvious reasons, the news sparked some concern among fans, who weren’t yet sure how critical his injuries were. “It appears that the suspect or suspects were waiting for the victim and ambushed him,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office claimed.
Fortunately, a photo of Foolio laying in a hospital bed started to circulate shortly after, suggesting that he was doing alright. Earlier this week, he hopped on Instagram Live, recounting the events that led to the shooting. According to him, he was on his way to buy a vape at a gas station when the incident occurred. “This vape is the reason I got shot,” he told viewers before taking another puff.
Now, the rapper has given fans an inside look at how his foot is healing up. He shared a clip of the wounded foot from what appears to be his bed, celebrating the fact that he can still move it. “Real sh*t do not mind the way my toes look,” he began. “I can’t wash my feet or clip them right now, but look, ain’t God good?” Foolio then proceeded to wiggle his toes around, sharing his excitement with fans. “Look! I can really move my sh*t now. I can move my toes now,” he explained. “And I can feel them b*tches now.”
Despite his warnings, it looks like Foolio got some backlash for his lengthy toenails, as he fired back in a subsequent post. “Stop saying ‘cut your toenails,’ I just said don’t mind my sh*t,” he told viewers. Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Foolio.
Travis Scott brought his new album, UTOPIA, to Rome earlier this week. After being originally scheduled to perform at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt near the time of the LP’s release, the date was ultimately canceled. He assured fans the Pyramids show will happen eventually. In the mean time, however, he announced a show at Rome’s Circus Maximus for this Monday (August 7). As expected, the performance brought in a massive crowd of somewhere around 60K fans. 60 of those fans, however, were reportedly injured and in need of medical treatment after the show.
Obviously, Travis is under a microscope following the 2021 Astroworld tragedy, which sadly cost 10 attendees their lives. Luckily, nobody at the Rome performance was gravely injured as far as we know. Euronews reports that one 14-year-old tried to bypass security and sneak in to the show, leading him to fall four-metres from an unnamed structure. Apparently, another person in the crowd was also pepper sprayed, and the incident of course led to chaos in the surrounding area.
It’s unclear exactly what type of injuries were reported, or how severe they were. The day after the performance, Travis Scott reacted to some footage of him performing on social media. He claimed it made him do “60 back flips.” It’s clear that both he and the audience were feeling it, after eagerly awaiting UTOPIA for so long.
The performance also featured a surprise-appearance from Kanye West, who took the stage to perform a couple of songs. He performed “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” and then they both performed their collab together, “Praise God.” “There is no UTOPIA without Kanye West,” Travis told the crowd. “There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West, there is no Rome without Kanye West.” On stage, he also reportedly dubbed Ye the “greatest of all time.”
If there’s one thing you can always expect Travis Scott to inspire in people, it’s the rage. The father of two has a natural enthusiasm for life that’s undeniably contagious. Still, some would argue that he’s taken things too far a number of times over the years. His 2021 Astroworld Festival resulted in a ton of backlash for Scott after multiple people lost their lives during a tragic crowd crush. The “goosebumps” hitmaker stepped out of the spotlight for a brief period at that time. He’s since headlined festivals and, earlier this week, performed for 60,000 in Rome.
Scott was initially due to perform in Egypt at the Pyramids of Giza when UTOPIA first dropped, but that show was ultimately cancelled. Regardless, the Houston native brought an exuberant amount of energy to the historic Circus Maximus on Monday (August 7). Scott also surprised fans with an appearance from Kanye West, who hasn’t taken the stage since his controversial anti-Semitic rants. This obviously had the audience acting out in an even rowdier manner, and reportedly even led to a pepper spray incident.
As per Euro News, dozens were injured by the attack, and at least 60 sought medical treatment. Elsewhere at the show, a 14-year-old was hospitalized after falling four metres. He was apparently trying to sneak into Circus Maximus without security noticing, but ultimately hurt himself in the process. Earlier this summer one of Scott’s performances resulted in an earthquake, and this week’s was no different. Residents of Rome felt the Cactus Jack founder’s presence all throughout the city, and not all of them were pleased.
As La Flame’s listeners continue to revel in his long-awaited UTOPIA LP and Circus Maximus film, the multi-talent has been sharing more secrets about the making of his album. While he worked with an impressive roster of collaborators, including SZA, The Weeknd, and Beyonce, it turns out J. Cole nearly appeared on the record as well. Read more about what Scott said about that missed opportunity at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news.
Rob49 has resurfaced on Instagram with new pictures featuring the injuries he sustained during the recent shooting on set at a music video for French Montana. The post comes after several weeks of radio silence from the rapper, which left fans concerned about his health. “U JUMPIN INAT WATER N***A U JUST LIKE ME. BIGGEST VULTURE,” he captioned the post. The shooting occurred back in early January.
Rob49 first confirmed that he was okay in a statement on social media, earlier this week. At the time, he also announced new music. “Thank You To Everybody Who Been Keeping Me In Dey Prayers, I Want Let Yall Kno I Been Doing Way Better & Thank God For Reminding Me Tah Live Everyday Like It’s My Last! What That Being Said Let’s FLOOD And Take OVA!! BIGGEST VULTURE,” he wrote.
Rob49’s Instagram Post
Rob was just one of 10 people injured on the set of French Montana‘s music video. The shooting took place outside The Licking restaurant in Miami Gardens, which is reportedly co-owned by DJ Khaled. C.E.D. Mogul was also present at the time of the shooting but made it out unscathed. He recounted the incident to FOX8 afterward. “[He asked to] call his mother and see if we can get spare car keys and make sure, you know, he’s OK, and then the gunshots went off,” Mogul told the outlet, before adding, “At least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle.”
French Montana shared a statement in the wake of the attack. “Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant,” he wrote on Twitter. “We unfortunately were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time.” In the days after the shooting, one of the victims threatened Montana with legal action. The man’s attorney, Josiah Graham, claimed that “there was no permit issued by the Miami Gardens Police Department for any type of authorized rap video.”
