SOURCE SPORTS: New Date Set for Netflix’s Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Fight

Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson at Mega-Event in Dallas

That was fast. Netflix’s highly anticipated live boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been rescheduled to Friday, November 15. This follows a postponement due to Tyson’s ulcer flare-up. So just when you thought it was a wrap, the “fight” is back on.

The sanctioned bout, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, will still take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with an undercard match featuring Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano.

Here’s what Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, had to say, “Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season.” He also praised the “outstanding dedication, collaboration, and flexibility” of their partners at Netflix and AT&T Stadium, emphasizing their commitment to providing fans with an “unforgettable night of boxing, live globally on Netflix.”

Get this, Netflix acquired global streaming rights to the fight as part of its live events strategy. JPMorgan analyst Doug Anmuth predicts this fight could be the “most watched boxing match ever given ease of access and Netflix’s large global subscriber base.” Sounds like a fair guesstimate. Success in this event might encourage Netflix to expand further into combat sports.

Iron Mike Tyson expressed gratitude to his medical team and the event organizers stating, “Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties.” Confident in his upcoming performance, Tyson added, “While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”

Health is wealth and hopefully Mike will be good to go as it seems nothing is stopping this from going down in history, one way or another.

Moneybagg Yo Promises “Classic” Lil Durk Verse On New Album

Late last month, Moneybagg Yo took to Instagram to delay the release of his upcoming album, Speak Now. The project was originally slated for release on May 24, however, it’s now expected to arrive on June 14. Of course, the announcement left many fans disappointed, though the rapper promised that the wait would be well worth it.

“Just Got A Crazyyyyy Feature In I Couldn’t Drop This Project Without,” he wrote alongside a photo of him at the drawing board. “Now Everything Locked In Fasho sho Its Worth Da Wait.” He didn’t share any more details at the time, leaving fans to speculate. While a definitive tracklist has yet to be released, listeners now know to expect an appearance from none other than Lil Durk.

Once again, Moneybagg Yo hopped on Instagram today to share the exciting news, praising the Chicago-born performer for wasting no time turning in his verse. “Dat N***a @lildurk Sent Me A Verse Back In Less Than 20 mins Of Me Sending It To Em Da Night Before I Had To Turn My Project In And Its 1 of Dem Classic Day 1 Smurk Verses ,” he revealed. “#SPEAKNOW JUNE 14th .” The post arrived alongside a screenshot of some tests the two artists exchanged, showing that Moneybagg Yo had nothing but nice things to say about Lil Durk’s verse.

Speak Now will follow the release of Moneybagg Yo’s recently unveiled single, “Play Da Fool.” It’s also scheduled to drop before yet another album he has in the works exclusively for his female fans. Hunxho Prepares For More To Come With New EP “Before The Album”

Yesterday, Hunxho unleashed his new EP, Before The Album. The nine-track project serves as a prelude to his upcoming third studio album, which does not yet have an official title. A timeline for the project has also yet to be announced, but luckily, fans now have something to listen to in the meantime. Before The Album follows the release of his sophomore album, For Her, which he unveiled in October of 2023.

Hunxho’s latest EP is his first official release of the year and certainly doesn’t disappoint. His signature, vulnerable lyricism shines through on tracks like “Ups & Downs” and “How It Feel,” giving listeners a taste of what’s to come on his junior effort. The songs are woven together by atmospheric instrumentals and mellow beats, serving as the perfect foundation for his introspective lyrics. Fans are certainly looking forward to hearing whatever it is that Hunxho has to offer on his upcoming third album, and it appears as though there may be even more to come after that.

Ciara recreated the cover artwork for her iconic debut studio album, Goodies, on social media in celebration of the project’s upcoming 20th anniversary on Saturday. Additionally, she announced pre-orders for a vinyl version of the project dropping on September 27th, 2024. In the caption of her post, she wrote: “20 Years later. Still CiCi. Happy 20th Anniversary Goodies! Pre Order Vinyl Here!”

Fans have been loving the post in the replies on X (formerly Twitter). One user wrote to the singer: “There’s no way to even put into words what this album/era means/meant to me growing up. You came in the game BLAZING! And to think that it’s been 20 years?! You are an ICON, Ci! So proud of you and all that you’ve accomplished! Thank you for never giving up!” Another added: “Ciara!!!! Ciara’s debut album was a commercial success from the jump, starting at number three on the US Billboard 200 after selling 124,750 copies in its opening week. The RIAA has since certified it triple platinum. Goodies also notched Ciara two Grammy nominations the following year including Best New Artist and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “1, 2 Step.” Across the tracklist, she worked with Missy Elliott, Ludacris, and more. On the track, “Next To You,” she featured R. Kelly but has reportedly chosen to omit that collaboration from the vinyl reissue.

While Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour is smashing records all across the country, trolls online are looking to crush her spirit. But in the words of her mentor Beyoncé, the “Boa” rapper won’t let them break her soul.

Today (June 8), Megan found herself at the center of another celebrity AI-generated deepfake controversy. A seemingly doctored clip of a sex tape video circulating online claims to feature the Grammy Award-winner. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Megan slammed the accusation and threatened to take action against anyone pushing it as authentic.

“It’s really sick how y’all go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning,” she wrote. “Y’all going too far, Fake ass shit. Just know today was your last day playing with me and I mean it.”

The origins of the video remain unknown. However, it gained popularity after blogger Mílagro Gramz liked the upload on X, then jokingly encouraged users to check it out. Fans of Megan quickly chimed in to encourage, the rapper to take legal action against not only the creator but Mílagro as well.

Yesterday (June 7), Kendrick dropped into Compton College’s 2024 commencement ceremony. In a surprising turn of events for graduates, the institution announced the “Not Like Us” emcee would deliver its official commencement speech.

Yelawolf has made his comeback to the studio album space with the new 25-track behemoth War Story, which is one of his most expansive and ambitious projects yet. While the LP contains features from Killer Mike, DJ Paul, Jelly Roll, his “Wolf Moon” collaborator Presley Vaughn, and more, he mostly carries this tracklist by himself and shows off his range as a rapper and songwriter. The Alabama native had previewed this new record with singles like “Make You Love Me” and is clearly set on giving his dear fans as much great content as he can.

Also, War Story arrives amid Yelawolf’s viral comments about relinquishing his possessions after the great Mac Miller passed away. “When Mac passed, dude, I was so hurt from that that I gave away everything I owned,” he said on The Bootleg Kev Podcast. “That’s a true story. I gave away every article of clothing that I owned when Mac passed, the next day. Just ’cause I felt like I needed to do something nice. No one really knew how cool he and I really were ’cause we didn’t do music.”

In it, they’re seen hugging each other, and fans can agree that it looks far from sibling-like. The rappers are no strangers to flirting with each other online, but this seems to have gone even further than usual.

It’s unclear exactly why Chief Keef and Sexyy Red are messing with their followers like this, however, it could be an attempt to promote their upcoming music video. Saint James Debuts As “Mr. Perfect” With Boldy James & Elcamino On New Single: Stream

London producer Saint James has been building up quite the roster of collaborators, making his big streaming service debut with two killer MCs. Moreover, he enlisted Boldy James and Elcamino for “Mr. Perfect,” a release that followed over two decades of amazing work in the underground with hip-hop’s old and new legends. This time around, the beatmaker provides a chime-heavy, wondrous, crisply percussive, and laidback instrumental for these spitters to skate over. They previously collaborated on the cut “No Fighting” from this year, and this continues a pretty cohesive working relationship that matches cold bars with measured deliveries.

Furthermore, Saint Jame$ didn’t reinvent the wheel here, but this is a bit more of a dreamy atmosphere than what you might be used to hearing Boldy James over. As far as the lyrical work here, it’s pretty raw, gritty, despondent, or at least accepting of the dire circumstances that the lyricists faced or still face. It’s the type of hardened street narrative that Elcamino’s crafted through previous work like the 38 Spesh collab EP Martyrs Prayer II and the They Spit On Jesus LP.

As for Boldy James’ other work as of late, he’s already got an AOTY contender with Penalty Of Leadership, a spot that tracks like these prove is a tough one to knock off. Some are beyond most folks’ control, such as a rescheduled Dallas show due to the NBA Finals. But others are much more sinister in nature, such as an alleged sex tape of hers that surfaced online but is reported to be A.I-.generated, according to social media discussion. Despite the content at hand and blazingly unverified Internet discussion, the Houston femcee took to Twitter on Saturday (June 8) to blast these supposed attempts to ruin her image.

“It’s really sick how yall go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning,” Megan Thee Stallion wrote to a mystery opp on the social media platform. “Yall going too far, Fake a** s**t. Just know today was your last day playing with me and I mean it.” Moreover, she just joined Latto and Flo Milli for the remix of “Sunday Service,” so at least she has some praise and earned commotion to counter this other side of online conversation.

Elsewhere, though, Megan Thee Stallion will likely address at least some of this reception, other struggles, and all her highs and lows on her upcoming album, Megan. It’s easily one of the summer’s most anticipated hip-hop releases, and will be her first solo full-length effort since 2022’s Traumanize. A lot happened in Tina Snow’s life since then, and we’re sure that it will make for a pretty engaging and well-rounded album experience. All we can hope for is that her efforts ring louder than those of her overzealous, disrespectful, or downright toxic detractors.

In fact, Megan Thee Stallion has a big rollout to contend with, and one that’s boosting morale amid some other canceled or postponed shows. It’s a lot of momentum and hype, and one that has a big risk of falling apart if the album doesn’t deliver. But our skepticism is more directed public opinion and discourse, not so much Meg’s talents or potential. Hopefully she claps back at folks who dislike her for all the wrong reasons through some amazing art.
