Megan Thee Stallion Documentary Series Gets An Official Release Date

Megan Thee Stallion has been one of the biggest rappers of the 2020s. She’s also been one of the most polarizing. Megan has been able top drop massive singles, including a few number ones. She’s also been involved in behind-the-scenes drama that has boosted her public profile. The rapper has won a criminal trial against Tory Lanez, and a beef against Nicki Minaj. There’s no shortage of things to talk about when it comes to Megan Thee Stallion, which is why she’s getting her own documentary.

In Her Own Words will be a multi-part series, according to Variety. The documentary will chronicle the last two years of Megan Thee Stallion’s life. Years that have been characterized, as we mentioned, by staggering highs and very public lows. In Her Own Words is directed by Nneka Onuorah, who did an exemplary job with the Lizzo release, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. The documentary was announced back in 2022, and fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to watch it. In Her Own Words will land on Amazon Prime Video on October 31.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Doc Will Detail Her Struggles

The overriding goal of the documentary is to set the record straight on Megan Thee Stallion’s life. She’s been the focus of countless allegations and rumors. “You’ve heard the hot takes and read the stories — now go straight to the source,” the description for In Her Own Words stated. This is not the first time the rapper has been the subject of a documentary. Megan’s legal battle with Tory Lanez was a topic of exploration in the recent Max release Megan Thee Stallion vs Tory Lanez: Five Shots.

Megan has not spoken at length about the documentary, but she talk to Billboard about her business ventures. She made it clear that she’s in complete control of her image at this point. “I’m proud of all my business deals because everything I do is personal to me,” she stated. “I put 100% into my partnerships, and I’m always so grateful when people want to step into my world.” This includes her endorsement of Presidential nominee Kamala Harris as well as her music. The rapper recently performed at a Kamala Harris rally, and her self-titled album topped Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in June.

Lil Durk continues to prove himself to be one of the most in-demand rappers in the world. He’s dropped hit singles, won Grammy Awards, and now he’s prepping for the release of his new album, Love Songs 4 the Streets 3. Durk has not only released the tracklist for the album, but the list of features as well. And we’ll be honest with you. The rapper might have the most eclectic and star-studded list of collabs of any rapper in 2024. Truly, Love Songs 4 the Streets 3 is going to be an incredible snapshot of this year in pop culture.

Let’s start with the most surprising features. Lil Durk has always linked up with other notable rappers. But nobody could have predicted that he would land a Sabrina Carpenter feature. Carpenter has been one of the breakout stars of 2024, if not the breakout star. It’ll be fascinating to hear how they sound together. The other names that are surprising to see on Lil Durk’s tracklist aren’t even rappers! iShowSpeed and Kai Cenat are two of the biggest streamers in the world. Yet, they will appear on the song “War Scars” together. We really have no clue what to expect there.

Lil Durk Seemingly Cut His Drake Collaboration

Where do you go after pop stars and streamers? Country, of course. Lil Durk is going to drip into another genre bag thanks to his Morgan Wallen collab “Come Home.” Rod Wave is also featured on what’s bound to be one of the biggest stylistic switch-ups of Durk’s entire career. Lil Baby and Future are slated to be on the songs “Sing this Song” and “Anti Hero,” respectively. Though their inclusion makes way more sense given the style Durk usually works in. The biggest question, though, revolves around the 6 God. Drake was supposed to be on the song “Discontinuing Wockhardt,” but it looks like he was cut from the album version. Since the other features are listed, it’s safe to assume Drake isn’t merely being hidden for dramatic effect.

Iran Launches 200 Ballistic Missiles At Israel While Suspected Gunmen Attack in Tel Aviv

Tuesday (Oct. 1) Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, targeting cities including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

The Iron Dome defense system, with U.S. assistance, intercepted many of the missiles, and no casualties were reported by the Israeli military. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed retaliation, stating, “Iran made a big mistake tonight—and it will pay for it.”

He extended his warning to other adversaries like Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iran, emphasizing Israel’s stance: “Whoever attacks us, we will attack them.”

The U.S. State Department condemned the attack, calling it a “significant escalation” and affirming Israel’s right to defend itself. While it did not rule out targeting Iran’s nuclear program, the U.S. committed to working closely with Israel on a response and discussing next steps with regional partners.

In a separate incident earlier in the day, a terrorist attack in southern Tel Aviv left eight people dead.

Get this, the Palestinian Mujahidin Movement, also known as Palestinian Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for the shooting and stabbing spree at a tram station. Israeli police labeled it a terror attack, with two suspects killed by authorities. Twelve people were injured, six seriously. Emergency responders described arriving amidst ongoing gunfire and treating victims with gunshot wounds at the scene.

This violence follows Israel’s ongoing military operations in Lebanon, aimed at pushing Hezbollah forces away from its border after weeks of conflict. Israeli strikes have killed over 1,000 people and displaced nearly 1 million in Lebanon, according to local officials.

Chanel Brand Names Lupita Nyong’o Newest Esteemed Ambassador

Fashion season is in full swing, especially with Paris Fashion Week being a global extravaganza. Now, A-list actor Lupita Nyong’o has been named Chanel’s newest ambassador, as reported exclusively by WWD.

Check this out, the French fashion house made the announcement following the actress’s appearance at its Spring 2025 ready-to-wear show, held at the Grand Palais on the final day of Paris Fashion Week.

When it comes to Chanel’s track record, Nyong’o, 41, joins the ranks of previous esteemed ambassadors, including Whitney Peak, Margot Robbie, Riley Keough, Charlotte Casiraghi, and Kristen Stewart.

While speaking to the Associated Press, the actress expressed her excitement about this new role, stating, “It’s a great honor. Chanel is a legacy brand with a long history. And to be the newest face of it feels monumental. I feel very, very proud and excited to take this new journey with a brand that I think is dynamic and always feminine and regal.”

When reflecting on the influence of fashion, Nyong’o reflected on the impact of fashion icon Bethann Hardison, whose pioneering work for diversity in the industry during the 1960s and 1970s left a lasting impact. Hardison gained recognition after participating in the historic 1973 Battle of Versailles fashion show and became one of the first prominent Black models.

“I would hope that there is a message for little girls,” Nyong’o said. “My work as an actor and as an author, as a podcast maker, and now as a brand ambassador, is to change that by just occupying the space.” She emphasized how representation in these roles can inspire others and reshape perceptions, saying that when someone occupies a space that was once empty, it alters how people see themselves and the world around them.

As for Hollywood, Nyong’o voiced the lead character in The Wild Robot, a DreamWorks Animation feature that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 8, 2024, and was released in U.S. theaters on Sept. 27, 2024.

RiTchie Links With Producer FearDorian For Six-Track EP “Quiet Warp Xpress”

It was just several months ago that RiTchie (Nathaniel Ritchie of Injury Reserve) began his solo career. The Phoenix, Arizona multi-genre talent did so by delivering “RiTchie Valens”. That would eventually go on to be the lead-off track for his solo debut album, Triple Digits [112]. The 14-song offering went on to receive some pretty decent reviews from fans and critics for its wild experimentation. It boasted features from the likes of Amine, Quelle Chris, and Niontay. After that, RiTchie decided to keep up the production just earlier this month with another single, “Cc Me”. For it, he recruited FearDorian, another fellow undergrounder who has been making some noise working with the likes of AyooLi and Polo Perks.

They put out their collaborative record, A Dog’s Chance, this past June. “Cc Me” would go on to serve as a lead single for this new joint EP between RiTchie and Dorian, Quiet Warp Xpress. This new duo would give us one more just a few days prior to this six-track effort’s release with the second-to-last cut, “Broke The Mold”. Both artists overall have very quirky and off-the-wall tendencies, so them linking for an extended play isn’t too surprising. However, what is a little shocking is the lack of cohesion and how rough it sounds. Reviews online are pointing to the loose song structures and nonchalant performances by RiTchie. We have to say we sort of agree with those opinions, sadly, However, we still want you to check out as much new music as possible so spin Quiet Warp Xpress and let us know what you think.

Rich Homie Quan’s Cause of Death Revealed

Rich Homie Quan died from an overdose after taking several drugs, including fentanyl, according to a new report from TMZ. The Fulton County Medical Examiner in Georgia is reportedly ruling his death an accident after fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine were all found in his system. Additionally, there were no signs of trauma on his body when police discovered it.

The iconic Atlanta rapper died back on September 5th at the age of 34. Lamar’s girlfriend, Amber Williams, says she saw Quan asleep on the couch on the morning of his death before taking her son to school. When she returned home, she checked on him and noticed his body was cold, at which point she dialed 911. “While on scene, I did not observe any foul play. Mr. Lamar did not appear to be alert, conscious, or breathing,” the responding officer wrote in his report, as caught by Fox 5 Atlanta. “Ms. Williams advised me that Mr. Lamar did not have any medical or underlying diseases.”

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s report comes after Quan’s estate released the music video for his first posthumous song, “Song Cry,” on Monday. It features the late rapper getting more emotional than usual while footage from his recent funeral service plays. “Aye, this one here personal,” he says in the intro. “I know a lot of my songs, y’all don’t take serious in a way, but I want y’all to turn this one up.” His estate held the massive service back on September 17, welcoming Killer Mike, DC Young Fly, and more to come pay tribute.
