Andre 3000 Reveals He And Big Boi Used To Pray To Become Good Rappers

Andre 3000 is back in the news in a major way this week. Overnight, he released his highly anticipated first solo album. The project is called New Blue Sun and was only announced earlier this week. With the announcement 3 Stacks was sure to temper fan expectations by letting them know that the album had “no bars.” The project is now officially out and features nearly 90 minutes of ambient and jazz inspired instrumental music.

In a recent interview with GQ, Andre discussed his new album, fan expectations, and his life after Outkast. He also discussed the fallout from the duo’s breakthrough as rap stars. “That’s life — you want what you want, ’til you don’t want it. Me and Big Boi used to literally pray every night. ‘Lord, really, really, we just wanna be good rappers.’ That was our prayer. It was called, like, a rapper’s prayer. And we did that,” he explained. But as it turned out, the fame wasn’t everything for the pair. “And now we’re seeing that it’s happened. I love that it’s happened. I don’t regret any of that. But it’s kind of like now that I’m at a certain level, I miss certain things about normalcy,” Andre concluded. Check out the full interview below.

Andre 3000 On Praying To Be A Good Rapper

Andre 3000’s new album has just 8 songs, but he makes the most out of the song titles. Many of them are hilariously long and detailed. “I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A “Rap” Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time” and “Dreams Once Buried Beneath The Dungeon Floor Slowly Sprout Into Undying Gardens” are just two examples of the silly song titles.

Though the album isn’t exactly what many fans were hoping for, it’s received some good initial buzz. Additionally many of other rappers like Lupe Fiasco have expressed their excitement for the record. Before it was even released Andre played the project for Frank Ocean and Tyler, The Creator. Travis Scott Reveals Why He Won’t Look At The Camera During Photoshoots

Travis Scott is someone who has had a fairly big year as far as the music world is concerned. Overall, this is all thanks to the fact that he dropped his new album Utopia. This is a project that topped the charts and is still doing well in terms of sales. Furthermore, his tour is going on right now and it has been able to gross a whole bunch of money. Simply, Scott is having a huge moment right now and that will continue to be true. In fact, GQ thought the same as they made him “Man Of The Year.”

The artist was on the cover of GQ and it led to a pretty interesting interview. You can see the cover of the magazine below, which will also feature the likes of Kim Kardashian. During this interview, GQ touched on the fact that Travis never seems to look at the camera whenever he is being photographed. As Scott explained, a lot of this has to do with him being a bit camera-shy. Ultimately, it is something we can all probably relate to on some sort of level.

“Yeah, my head’s down. I’m not a picture guy,” Scott said. “I just put my head down because people are just snapping away. I think people think I’m posing. I’m not. I’m just really just looking down. No, just looking down. And then when it’s over, we can laugh and do whatever again.” Needless to say, this is something that is hard to get over. However, with some practice, you can definitely overcome that fear in one way or another.

Andre 3000 Reveals He’s Secretly Contributed To Other Artist’s Songs

Andre 3000 guest spots may not be as rare as they seem. In recent years his collaborations have been rare but very memorable. He’s lent his voice to standout features on songs by Frank Ocean, James Blake, Future, Killer Mike, A Tribe Called Quest, and more. But during a recent interview with GQ, Andre revealed that there’s even more music he recorded out there than fans may realize.

One of the reasons fans may not have noticed Andre was contributing to a song is because he isn’t talking about raps. In the interview, he discusses playing instruments, in particular flute, on a variety of other artists’ work. “I’ve actually played some wind things that I’ve put out in the world that I called myself another name under different artists that are out there that, you know, I was just kinda testing it out in a way. From known artists, and they’ve been cool about keeping it secret.” The revelation of his other alias had fans digging through old material looking for where he might pop up. She also broke down how her experience as a kid informed how she handled divorce as an adult.

“Ultimately, what matters is that kids feel loved and heard,” Kim began. “You want to be sensitive because they’re just kids, and it’s hard to go through no matter what age. You have to make sure that you only go to a level that they can understand. It’s okay to show a vulnerable side. You never go to a negative side,” she explained. Kim Kardashian covers GQ’s 28th annual Men of the Year issue. In the vast cover story, she speaks on her divorce from Kanye West, specifically addressing how watching her parents’ divorce impacted how she approached her own.

Kim reveals she was nine when her parent’s divorce happened, citing a family meeting led to the divorce conversation. Now, she uses those experiences for herself.

“I did think about how my parents handled it with us,” Kardashian said. “I just remember them being open…Ultimately, what matters is that kids feel loved and heard. You want to be sensitive because they’re just kids, and it’s hard to go through no matter what age. You have to make sure that you only go to a level that they can understand. It’s okay to show a vulnerable side. You never go to a negative side.”

Kardashian also revealed she is “more religious than most people guess” and prays to her children before bed. The practice replicates what Robert Kardashian did to Kim and her siblings. “That’s how I manage life. I look at everything as lessons. Hailey Bieber Shoots Down Pregnancy Rumors

Hailey Bieber addressed rumors about being pregnant during a new interview with GQ. The model labeled them “disheartening” while admitting that do affect her. The rumors come after she and her husband, Justin, celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary over the summer.

“Recently, everybody was like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s pregnant,’ and that’s happened to me multiple times before,” Hailey began. “There is something that’s disheartening about, ‘Damn, I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant?’ It would be a lie if I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I don’t give a sh*t.’” She also admitted that she used to want her relationship with her future kids to be completely private, but admits now that it’s “probably totally unavoidable.” She added: “That was before I was married. Didn’t know who I was going to be married to at the time, I’m sure.”

Odell Beckham Jr. Clarifies Comments About Living With Drake

Odell Beckham Jr. has cleared up some confusion that stemmed from comments he made about living with Drake in 2016. “Well, I think people have a misunderstanding of that. He was actually on tour and I was living there. Everyone was like, ‘Oh, they’re roommates!’ That wasn’t really it,” Beckham Jr. told GQ this week. Previously, the Ravens receiver had spoken on living at Drake’s Calabasas mansion during the 2016 offseason.

However, Beckham Jr. did speak on his long-standing friendship with Drake and how he spent some time linking up with the rapper around Europe. “I actually stayed in London [once] for two or three months with Von Miller. This was back when Drake was on tour, so our home base was London for a little bit of time. It was our offseason, so we went to Norway, Stockholm, Amsterdam, but London was the home base. That was my favorite hotel, actually. The Rosewood, they always take care of me.”

Back in 2023, Beckham Jr. is now a Raven after sitting out the 2022 season. He had a fairly quiet game during the Ravens win over the Texans. Beckham Jr. caught two passes for 37 yards. This comes as Lamar Jackson found a new favorite target in rookie Zay Flowers, who caught nine passes for 78 yards in his NFL debut. The Ravens next face the Bengals this weekend.

However, it’s clear that Beckham Jr. has a major soft spot for Drizzy. “That’s my guy right there. That was the first time we really hung out… Just somebody who I’m sure you can relate to. Somebody whose mindset is the same as yours. And they want nothing but success. They want to be the best. We just clicked on a level like that. And this really was the start of a friendship that’ll carry through a lifetime,” Beckham Jr. said of Drake back in 2016.

2 Chainz Says “Hell naw!” To Vegan Weed, Son Reveals A Booking Costs $50K

Over the weekend, Georgia rapper 2 Chainz shared his feelings on organic vegan weed in an episode of GQ‘s Most Expensivest. The series, hosted by the rapper, showcases him trying high-priced items and discussing them on the show. This episode was centered on organic weed. The rapper was also joined by comedian Sarah Silverman, and the two talked with cannabis cultivator Kyle Kushman. As they dsicuss the weed with Kushman, which he calls “Veganic,” he shares with 2 Chainz that it costs “pretty damn near a $1,000 an ounce.” 2 Chainz promptly shouted “What?!?” He went on to say, “Hell naw!” Asking, “A $1,000 for a zip? $1,000 for 28 grams?” “That s**t, sometimes when you make it that expensive, it make people want it, you know what I’m saying?” the rapper adds.

Kushman then revealed that he sold so much vegan weed that he didn’t leave his home for five years. He said, “People would come to my house and just bring me money.” The rapper responded to the entrepreneur with, “That’s trappin’! That’s trappin’! That’s trappin’, man!”

2 Chainz’s Son Says It Costs $50K to Book Him

In other news, the rapper’s son Halo also recently shared on the pair’s podcast Me and Halo that it costs a pretty penny for him to make an appearance. In the episode, he asks the 6-year-old how much he charges to be booked. Halo then responds to his father with, “Somebody wanna book me, I’m talking at least like $50,000.” He responds to his son’s answer, asking “50 grand? $50k?” He went on to say, “$50k to book Halo, man.” The child then said, “If not, at least $500.” The rapper laughs as his son later specifies, “If you got a lot of money, ten hundred or $500.” The boy doubled down with, “If you’re really really rich, I’m talking $50k.”

Last week, the rapper also shared another cute moment with his son on his Instagram. In the post, screenshots of text messages between the father and son show the boy responding to a photo of his dad, telling him he needs to “do some push-ups.” Halo is one of 2 Chainz’s three children he has with businesswoman Kesha Ward.
