Lil Wayne Opens Up About André 3000’s Comments On Aging In Hip Hop

In a recent episode of his Young Money Radio show on Apple Music, Lil Wayne candidly addressed his disappointment after reading André 3000’s remarks about the challenges of finding subject matter for rap in one’s 40s. Although Wayne didn’t explicitly name André 3000, it was evident who he was talking about. Expressing his thoughts, Wayne said, “I read a depressing quote or two from someone I respect a lot in music. In Hip Hop period, in music period.” Without naming names, he continued, “And they were asked, ‘Why you ain’t been doing music’ or whatever? And they was like, ‘Man, what I’ma talk about? I’m in my 40s. Like what am I supposed to talk about?’ I was like wow, that was so depressing. I’m like, I have everything to talk about!”

Tyga, Wayne’s guest on the show, shared his perspective, suggesting that staying engaged in the music scene is essential. “But I feel like that’s why you gotta stay in it, though. I feel like you can’t be too far removed,” Tyga remarked. Wayne, however, disagreed. He expressed concerns about the potential creative discouragement that could come with trying to keep up with current music trends at his age. “So that’s why I say I don’t listen,” he concluded. “I just go in my little hole. I love what I do, I just put it out and swing for the fences, man.”

Lil Wayne Makes It Clear He’s Disappointed

The sentiments made by Andre 3000 were featured in his recent interview with GQ. In the conversation about the absence of raps or lyrics in his latest album, New Blue Sun, André explained that, at his current age, he finds himself without significant topics to explore or discuss. While André 3000’s perspective suggests a struggle to find relevant content in his 40s, Lil Wayne remains committed to staying true to himself. Regardless of the changing landscape of the music industry. The conversation offers a glimpse into the challenges faced by artists as they navigate the evolving dynamics of the hip-hop genre.

“I don’t have anything to talk about in that way,” Andre 3000 said. “I’m 48 years old. And not to say that age is a thing that dictates what you rap about, but in a way it does. And things that happen in my life, like, what are you talking about? ‘I got to go get a colonoscopy.’ What are you rapping about? ‘My eyesight is going bad.’” While André 3000 raises valid concerns about the challenges of finding new inspiration in one’s 40s, Lil Wayne stands as a testament to the enduring power of passion and individuality. Ultimately, it’s a reminder that hip hop, at its core, remains a dynamic art form that thrives on the authentic and ever-evolving narratives that artists bring to the mic. What are your thoughts? Andre 3000 Says That He Sees Himself In Teezo Touchdown And Tyler, The Creator

Andre 3000 shocked the music industry with his brand-new album, New Blue Sun, this past Friday, November 17. It was a triumphant day, to say the least, to check out unheard music from the legend. While some were let down by the fact that it was an instrumental album, the pieces of music within the tracklist were absolutely beautiful. He made something that was true to him and it is easily one of the best projects of the year.

Because of this eight-song project, he has been the talk of the town recently. He has done some interviews with large publications like GQ. It was interesting to hear his insight on what compelled him to come out with this album. There were a lot of things to take away from this sit-down, one of them being who he feels represents him musically today.

Against popular belief, there are plentiful amounts of experimental artists in rap today. Two of those include Tyler, The Creator and Teezo Touchdown. Both have their idiosyncracies and are always looking toward the future of what still can be done with music. Well, both of them got a huge shoutout from Andre in the clip above. “I see it visually. I see it more in spirit and people pushing things and trying things, and I love the spirit.” He continues, “Like you see Tyler and them, you see Teezo Touchdown and those guys and you’re like, ‘ah.’” 3000 further explains that they are not copycats, but yet a new version of him that is unique. “The coolest thing is it’s not like a signing, it’s not like a copy. It’s the next, it’s a lineage.”

Travis Scott Thinks Back To A Car Ride With Stormi And How That Inspired “UTOPIA”

Travis Scott has revealed a lot to us and the rest of the music world over the past few hours with his feature in GQ magazine. From giving us an inside look at his thoughts on the Astroworld tragedy to his desire to hit the books and become an architect, and even turning UTOPIA into a musical, there is a lot to unpack. Travis is clearly one of the biggest rappers in the world and that is because of his excellent record. Fans waited five years and they got a GRAMMY-nominated tape. What was so cool about UTOPIA was that it ditched the traditional formula that the Houston artist has put forth.

While it does draw heavy inspiration from Kanye West’s Yeezus, it still feels uniquely Travis. One of the reasons for that is due in part to a car ride with his daughter, Stormi. In the interview, he details how he brought back the 2013-2014 La Flame era that many longtime fans would call it. “I was actually riding with Stormi… we were getting fireworks in Houston… Her favorite song is “Mamacita”—it’s like, her favorite song of all time. She plays it all the time in the car, over and over and over, and that’s from this mixtape Days Before Rodeo.”

Travis Scott Had A Special Moment With Stormi

He continues, “Just hearing that song over and over just reminded me of that time. I wanted to get back to the essence of who Travis Scott was as, like, a creator of music and sound, he said. “To just go back to the core, what got me here, which is producing and creating and the raw format of how I’ve started making music. And I got so excited about that.” It sounds like a special moment for the daddy and daughter and you can certainly hear elements of that time in his career. Prime examples of this are “LOOOVE,” “LOST FOREVER,” and “HYAENA.”

What are your initial thoughts on Travis Scott revealing that Stormi helped inspire UTOPIA? Do you think there would have been any chance of any older Travis without the car ride? Do you prefer his new sound or older stuff more? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section. Travis Scott Reveals He Is Looking To Attend Harvard For Architectural Design

Travis Scott does not want his success to be only tied to his music. There have been a few interesting nuggets to come out of this recent interview with GQ. The Houston rapper is currently on the first leg of his Circus Maximus tour. Travis recently announced that more dates were added, which will bleed into late January of 2024. Besides seeing more awesome performances, we will also get to witness the breathtaking set pieces. For almost every tour he goes on, La Flame is trying to create an atmosphere that is unmatched. He wants to transport you to another world, another UTOPIA, so to speak.

The hitmaker detailed plenty of things in an exclusive feature with GQ with the interview taking place on the road to his next stop. One of those topics includes his overflowing fascination with buildings and architecture. He has so much interest in it, that he is adamant about going to a certain prestigious university to pursue a degree in architectural design. “I’m going to Harvard for architecture school. I got to work hard to get in. They’re not letting me take any shortcuts.”

Travis Scott Is Looking To Become The Next Great Architect

With this information, it is clear that Scott has made visits and inquired about all the fine details. The interviewer was obviously a little shocked, doing a double take. “And how soon, realistically, could you imagine doing it?” Scott replies, “Well, I told myself after this album I was going to go in. So after the tour.” “Seriously?” “Yeah, seriously,” Scott confirms. Even though this would require a lot of focus and dedication from the rap superstar, especially after saying he would move to Boston for it, he says music will still be in the works. “It’d probably be like four years. I’m still going to make music, of course.”

What are your initial thoughts on Travis Scott’s comments about attending Harvard for architectural design? Do you think he will get into the university and complete his studies? Is Travis the greatest artist of the last 10 years? We would like to know what you have to say about all of this. Pharrell Suggests That New N.E.R.D Music Could Be On The Way

N.E.R.D has remained inactive since 2018 when they released a remix of their most popular song. “Lemon,” featuring Rihanna and Pharrell, gained quite the following back in 2017. It currently sits at around 162 million Spotify streams and was a quirky banger for its time. Then, when Drake hopped on the song it made for a cool moment between a hip-hop superstar and a unique multi-musical duo coming together for fireworks. Unfortunately, that was the last material the group put out and it might be too late for a resurgence, or could it?

Well, in a recent sit down with GQ, frequent collaborator to Pharrell Wiliiams, Tyler, The Creator took the time to talk about their insane jewelry collections as well as how they stay influenced on the creative side of things. During that part of the conversation, the superstar producer gave readers a peek behind the curtain so to speak about new music with N.E.R.D.

Pharell says, “I’m out here in Paris.” I just ended up doin’ twelve N.E.R.D records.” He continues to tell Tyler, “Listen, you’ll have something to ride to. I mean, look, like I told you, they’re big choruses, but you know, out of nowhere, I’ll just come out of nowhere with the three-bar, crazy-nuts chords that go three-bar to four-bar to eight-bar.” It sounds like very intriguing material that the producer and rapper says reminds him of their first record In Search Of… This is not the only music we are waiting on now, though, so this could be a Pharrell takeover hopefully in the near future.

What are your initial thoughts on Pharrell Williams’ comments about him and N.E.R.D having loads of music in the vault? Additionally, do you think a lot of people are ready for new material, or has the hype passed on this trio? What is your favorite song of theirs? The star-studded affair features appearances from NBA Youngboy, Lil Wayne, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, Pharrell, and many more. Earlier this year Tyler dropped The Estate Sale, a deluxe edition of the album. That version featured a number of new songs which also included new features from Vince Staples, A$AP Rocky, and YG. Tyler also mentions that he’s waiting on Pharrell to release music that was supposed to come out ages ago. “waiting for new sh*t that was supposed to come out ages ago. You playin’,” Tyler says. But in his response Pharrell didn’t just answer the question, but also hit back with an announcement of his own. “No, I’m not, I’m not, I’m out here in Paris, I just ended up doing twelve N.E.R.D records,” he said. But it turns out things weren’t exactly what they seemed from the sound of their conversation.

Meghann Cuniff Dishes Her Thoughts On The Tory Lanez Trial In New GQ Interview

If you’ve tried to stay up to date on the Tory Lanez trial, you most likely recognize Meghann Cuniff’s name. Moreover, she’s the reporter who provided (and is still providing) excellent stories, updates, and insights into the artist’s legal reckoning for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. In fact, her coverage became so acclaimed and impactful in the media that Tory and his team tried to discredit her. With that in mind, it’s only natural that other outlets like GQ would want to have a chat with her about her experience. Furthermore, in a new interview, the Oregon-raised journalist discussed multiple aspects of this high-profile case and her own notoriety.

For example, on the topic of her recent publishing of Iggy Azalea’s letter in support of Tory Lanez (and also Mario’s), Meghann Cuniff explained why she felt that was important. “[Social media is] the current medium where everyone is,” she remarked to the publication. “What I’ve noticed from researching court coverage and just looking at L.A. Superior Court over the years- because there’s so much history in that courthouse- they used to allow cameras all over the courthouse. There was a trial involving The Twilight Zone movie. It was a manslaughter trial. It was a huge, huge, high-profile case in the ’80s. And when you see the footage from it, have all the testimony on coverage. TV was just the medium back then. We’ve transitioned away from that.

Meghann Cuniff’s Latest Twitter Update

“The restrictions that courts place on access to coverage I think are hurtful to the public’s understanding of the court,” she continued. “When you’re talking about mainstream stuff and you’re trying to balance all the misinformation out there, I mean, you have to get on the same level.” Elsewhere, Meghann Cuniff also addressed misinformed and rapid coverage of the trial on blog spaces, making her mission that much more important. In addition, she addressed people both praising and attacking her online, the sentence’s fairness, Tory’s attitude throughout this process, and what she hopes people will take away from it.

“I hope people see this as just an example of how different internet life or blog life or your perception of a case from the internet comments can be from what actually is happening in the courtroom or what actually is happening in real life,” she shared. “The idea that this was such a high-profile case and so much interest in it, why aren’t all the court documents available online? I just think it’s totally shameful that the L.A. Superior Court has this stuff locked down, and you have to go through all these hoops just to get public documents on the case.” Check out the full interview with the via link below and stay up to date on HNHH for the latest Tory Lanez news. Also, thank you, Meghann, for all your hard work, integrity, and efforts to level the playing field.

Lil Uzi Vert Wowed By A Magic Trick In New Video

Lil Uzi Vert is on top of the world right now. The rapper just released their highly anticipated new album Pink Tape. The project became the first rap album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 this year. It sold 167k units in its first week which placed the album among the biggest first-week sales debuts of the year so far. In a recent interview with GQ, Uzi opened up on a number of things like their relationship with Yeat and their admiration for Young Thug. Now in a new video released as a part of an attached photo shoot, Uzi encounters an impressive magician.

In the clip, a magician starts by guessing what Lil Uzi Vert is thinking of. Perhaps unsurprisingly, she correctly guesses Pop-Tarts, a snack that the rapper has long been vocal about their love for. But Uzi’s mind isn’t really blown until she makes a full plate of snacks appear right before their very eyes. Consequently, Uzi’s reaction of sheer disbelief is something mirrored by many fans in the comments watching the same thing. “this sh*t really scary asf bruh” reads one of the top comments. “that’s witchcraft not magic” agrees another. Additionally others just point out how hilarious Uzi themselves is in the video. “Uzi shy asf😂,” reads one of the top comments on the post.

Lil Uzi Vert’s relationship with Young Thug seems to extend beyond just their friendship. Uzi has long credited Thugger as a musical influence, so much so that they’re planning to release an entire album tributing his sound. Uzi’s new album Barter 16 is expected to drop this year.

For the record, they worked with two frequent Young Thug collaborators Birdman and London On Da Track. Subsequently, promotion for the project has even gone as far as Uzi dressing up as Thug for public appearances. Though it doesn’t have a release date yet Uzi has been teasing the project to fans since Pink Tape dropped. What do you think of the clip of Lil Uzi Vert being amazed by a magician? Lil Uzi Vert Describes Themselves As The “Class Clown” Of Hip-Hop

Lil Uzi Vert says that they’re the “class clown” of hip-hop. Uzi discussed their image as an “outcast” during a recent interview with GQ, refuting the idea while discussing their relationship with “the industry.” Uzi admits they’re aesthetically an “outcast” but the dynamic is different in reality.

“I’m not really the outcast, even though I take on the outcast aesthetic,” they told the outlet. “You got the cool kids and the jocks. Then you got the nerds, then you got the kids with behavior problems. But I’m more of the class clown. Some days people will really like me. And then some days I get on they nerves. The class clown is just trying to make friends.”
