Moreover, after the former’s opening performance at the 2024 BET Awards last night (Sunday, June 30), she joined the latter for her own medley of some of her big 2024 singles so far. They performed their collab “Wanna Be” together (sadly, no Cardi B for the remix version) and even had a twerk-off onstage. Overall, it seems like the “Hot Girl Summer” tour mates had a very great time at the ceremony, and their collaborative and personal bond is heartening to witness.

You are my sister 4L , you and cola never getting rid of me,” the Houston femcee shared via an Instagram caption. “I luv you 4L Meg [heart emoji, teary-eyed emoji],” her Memphis counterpart responded. “I’m so glad I got to do dis tour with you I wouldn’t have had it no other way [party emoji]. GloRilla Taps Megan Thee Stallion For 2024 BET Awards Performance
“Da hot s**t,” of course, was their collaboration on Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN, which follows GloRilla’s own project Ehhthang Ehhthang. They both stand as some of the hottest releases of 2024 so far, and we’re sure that they have much more to offer fans throughout the rest of the year. Also, their dance battles are nothing new, as Latto challenged them to one while backstage at the “Hot Girl Summer” tour.
Meanwhile, they all also linked up with Flo Milli on this trek, and with many collabs in between all of them this year, fans hope that they continue with even fresher and more unique ideas. Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla share a lot of chemistry with each other and with these other femcees. If all is just, they will continue to collaborate and stun fans. If not, then at least they already gave us plenty of material.

From there, she ran through an energetic medley featuring “Yeah Glo!,” “TGIF,” and “Wanna Be.” “Wanna Be,” of course, is a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Meg opened the BET Awards with a performance of her own, so she stuck around and gave Glo an assist by joining for the song, even wrapping things up with an on-stage twerk-off.

Unsurprisingly, Megan Thee Stallion claimed the snake is also named “Megan.” It is promotion for a self-titled album, after all. The decision to bring a snake to the release party makes perfect sense, given the serpent motif that’s been running throughout Megan’s new album. Her lead singles were called “HISS,” “Cobra” and and “BOA.” She laid out her decision to go in a “snake” direction during the Megan teaser. In the teaser, the rapper can be heard saying: “Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past, over and over again.”
Megan Thee Stallion expanded upon this concept during an interview with L’Officiel USA. She made it clear that she doesn’t condone so-called “snake behavior,” which talks about a lot on the album. She’s using serpent imagery to relay the concept of “renewal and rebirth.” This ambition also aligns with the rapper’s previous comments have having a difficult period in her personal life. Megan Thee Stallion had to contend with public criticism in light of her court battle with Tory Lanez. It was the release, and major success of “HISS,” that restored her confidence. Renewal, rebirth.
“We don’t just stop at the snake,” Megan Thee Stallion told the outlet. “We started with the snake because, first of all, I love snakes. But I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in western culture. Snakes represent rebirth, spirituality.” The rapper also admitted that she liked the threatening connotations that come with snakes. “I like darker things,” she added. “Things that are a little scary. I like things that are unique. I picked the snake because… it’s kind of like an antihero.” Megan’s anti-hero era is off to a great start.

The announcement comes as Megan extends her prolific “Hot Girl Summer Tour” with new dates in Atlanta, GA at State Farm Arena on July 2 and a domestic finale in Charlotte, NC at PNC Music Pavilion on July 3. To date, Megan’s tour has sold over 280,000 tickets and sold out 23 shows. Throughout the tour, she has brought a wide array of special guests at select stops, including Cardi B, Latto, Flo Milli, Bun B, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Monaleo, Lil Keke, and Z-Ro.
This Sunday (June 30) at 8 p.m., all eyes will be on BET as the 2024 BET Awards take place. We know who’s nominated: That was announced in May, and leading the pack are Drake, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, Victoria Monét, 21 Savage, Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, and Usher.
The other big piece of the puzzle is who is set to perform during the broadcast. Well, now we know.
Who’s Performing At The 2024 BET Awards?
It was announced today (June 26) that Megan Thee Stallion has joined the lineup, as she’ll perform to open the show.
Meanwhile, added to the lineup two days ago was Will Smith, who is set to perform a new original song.
Also performing during the broadcast will be GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Lauryn Hill and YG Marley, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tyla, and Victoria Monét. Tanner Adell will also perform, on the BET Amplified stage.
Usher, meanwhile, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement BET Award. Taraji P. Henson is returning to host the show.
Aside from getting ready for the BET Awards, Megan also just had a fresh Amazon Prime Day ad campaign drop, which included a brand-new song made specifically for the commercial.
Back in October, Megan Thee Stallion first began teasing her new era after freeing herself from her old record deal and going independent. In just a few days, she’ll reveal the culmination of her efforts in the form of her third album, Megan, which she announced just after launching her Hot Girl Summer Tour.
