Joe Budden On Drake’s “For All The Dogs”: “He Rapping For The Children”

Drake’s For All The Dogs is obviously sparking a lot of conversation, whether around the album itself or around Drizzy as an artist. While many fans seem very satisfied, including some typical doubters, it’s not all peaches and cream. For example, Joe Budden recently shared his thoughts on the project on The Joe Budden Podcast… multiple times, in fact, to emphasize the passion. During his remarks, though, it’s not like he completely dragged the Toronto superstar through the mud entirely. One comment that die-hards might be surprised by is that the former Everyday Struggle host labeled the 6 God as the “golden child.”

Still, many of his issues seem to stem from Drake’s collaborators, who he’s associating himself with, and what he’s rapping about. A standout quote from his breakdown is the following: “I miss the Drake that was rapping for the rappers.” Joe Budden suggested that he shouldn’t be getting down with streamers like Kai Cenat and “rapping for the children.” Instead, the media commentator and MC believes that the 36-year-old should stick to topics and people more within his age group.

Joe Budden’s Initial Thoughts On Drake’s For All The Dogs

Of course, this is by no means a new conversation when it comes to Drake, and it’s not one that will end anytime soon. However, it’s also not nearly as one-sided as Joe Budden’s comments might have you think. After all, you don’t become arguably the biggest rapper ever in the commercial game by not making at least something click for your audience. Many could see Aubrey Graham’s connection to younger artists and creators as his way of putting them on, giving his cosign, or staying relevant despite the passage of time. When it comes to his proximity to, for example, younger women, though, that’s when people like Joe push back.

More Takedowns Of FATD

Meanwhile, it’s also clear that the podcast host doesn’t solely have that issue with For All The Dogs, and that it’s about much more than that. But do you think he missed the mark on this assessment or can you relate to his frustration? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Drake’s Esperanza Spalding Jab Has Fans Up In Arms

Drake dropped his new album For All The Dogs yesterday, following months of teasing. Fans couldn’t wait to hear the potential beef that’d be laid out on the project, and of course, they’ve been speculating since it arrived. Listeners are hard at work dissecting the project line for line, suspecting shots at Rihanna, The Weeknd, Kanye West, NBA YoungBoy, and more. One diss fans didn’t expect, however, was Drake’s line about Esperanza Spalding. The jazz performer took home a Grammy in 2011 for Best New Artist, which Drake was also nominated for.

On his track “Away From Home,” the Canadian-born artist calls her out directly by name. “Esperanza Spalding was gettin’ all the praises/ I’m tryna keep it humble, I’m tryna keep it gracious/ Who give a f*ck Michelle Obama put you on her playlist?/ Then we never hear from you again like you was taken,” he raps.

Drake Disses Esperanza Spalding On “Away From Home”

The unexpected jab has certainly managed to get social media users talking, and from the looks of things, most of them aren’t pleased. Countless users think the lyric was uncalled for, and are coming fiercely to Spalding’s defense. It’s safe to say that her fans will not be letting this one slide. Many note her unmatched musical abilities, and think Drake could still be holding on to some hard feelings over the Grammy loss. Several others have also brought up the fact that Spalding seems like an odd choice for a diss, considering the countless rappers that have come at him in the past.

For All The Dogs Expected To Sell 400-450k First Week

Rihanna’s Choreographer Reposts Drake Meme Amid “Fear Of Heights” Backlash

Drake pissed off a lot of fanbases with For All The Dogs. While the Barbz are mad that Drake seemingly lied about a Nicki feature, the Rihanna Navy has taken issue with the track “Fear Of Heights”, which appears to be a thinly-veiled Rihanna diss track. The track led Paris Goebel, Rihanna’s primary choreographer, to repost an image of Drake awkwardly kissing a woman to her Instagram story.

Drake and Rihanna were once thick as thieves and even reportedly dated on and off between 2009 and 2018. Both of Drake’s first two times hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 came as a feature on a Rihanna track (“What’s My Name?” and “Work”). However, that seems like ancient history given “Fear Of Heights”, which appears to reference her 2016 album Anti multiple times as well as taking direct shots at Rihanna and her long-time partner A$AP Rocky.

Rihanna Named As Dream Performer For Dancing With The Stars

However, outside of Drake, Rihanna is being spoken about in a much more positive light. Actor Tyson Beckford has said that Rihanna would be his dream live performance for Dancing With The Stars. Furthermore, he even teased that he might try to make it a reality this season. “I know her people,” he told Billboard this week. The show has a reputation for pulling out famous faces for occasion performances on the show, especially in the later weeks. Rihanna would be an absolutely massive grab for the show. Beckford is currently starring on the dance competition’s 32nd second season. He is partnered with Jenna Johnson, a seasoned veteran of the show who has won the show once and finished second twice.

Elsewhere, a rather adorable story about the Barbadian icon recently emerged. During her pregnancies, RiRi would reportedly binge-watch 90 Day Fiancé. The story was revealed by Yara Zaya, who had appeared on the show. “She DM’d me back in February 2021 when she was pregnant with her first baby. She told me she loved my storyline, and loves to watch the show. I always loved her. I reached out to her first, but had no idea that she would ever reply back to me,” Zaya told Page Six. Reportedly, Rihanna also contacted another person featured on the show, Angela Deem.

Drake And Lil Yachty Share Music Video For “Another Late Night”

The first visual from the album is here! Drake’s For All The Dogs dropped early this morning and the commentary has been circulating all day. For the most part, the project is growing on people, but where it ranks in Drake’s discography is still debatable. There’s 23 songs total on the project and each of them offer something different to the project. Some of the standout tracks from the project include, “Daylight,” “First Person Shooter,” featuring J. Cole, “Calling For You,” featuring 21 Savage, “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA, and “Another Late Night,” featuring Lil Yachty — to name a few. Now, “Another Late Night” just got an official music video and it’s directed and edited by Cole Bennett.

In a delightful surprise for fans, Drake and Lil Yachty have unveiled the music video for their collaborative track, “Another Late Night.” The video opens with the playful words, “Christmas came early,” setting the tone for what unfolds. Drake & Yachty Show Off Their Dance Moves

The track’s chorus, voiced by Drake, sets the mood perfectly as he croons, “Just another late night with my b***h,” emphasizing the essence of a cozy and memorable night. Lil Yachty takes the spotlight next with his verse, showcasing his dance moves as he steps into the frame. The collaboration between Drake and Lil Yachty in “Another Late Night” is a testament to their chemistry as a duo. The fusion of Drake’s smooth vocals and Lil Yachty’s lively verses creates a musical synergy that’s both catchy and compelling. It’s definitely one of the standouts of the project.

The video has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, who are actively embracing Cole Bennett’s remarkable journey as a director. Many have rallied behind his creative evolution, expressing a deep sense of pride in witnessing his remarkable growth in the industry and him working alongside Drake. “Proud of you Cole, you’re paving the way for a lot of us videographers!” one person wrote. “Drake has been dominating the Hip Hop conversation for almost 15 straight years. We may not be hearing anything new from Drake for a while, as the rapper has said he’ll be spending time away from music to focus on his health. How are you liking the album so far?

That Cole Bennett-Directed Drake Video Has Finally Arrived, And It’s For ‘Another Late Night’ Featuring Lil Yachty

Hours before For All The Dogs arrived, Drake set the table by releasing “8AM In Charlotte” alongside an adorable video co-starring his nearly six-year-old son, Adonis, who happens to be the artist of the album’s cover art. And tonight (October 6), Drake served fans some dessert to cap off an eventful release day: The video for “Another Late Night” featuring Lil Yachty, directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett.

Bennett directed and edited the three-minute video, shot in Maple Ridge in Vancouver, Canada. It has a Christmas-adjacent theme. A Christmas carol is the first sound we hear, followed by someone saying, “Christmas came early.” Christmas lights are everywhere, fully coating a luxurious car, while Lil Boat and Drake’s bars beam bright into the night.

On October 1 — the 10-year anniversary of Lyrical Lemonade — Bennett detailed his first-ever collaboration with Drake while visiting with Kids Take Over — putting fans on high alert.

“Drake had a few off-days in Vancouver, and he wanted to shoot a video while he was out there,” the prolific director said. “We’re working on a few different projects right now, one of which was to knock something out in Vancouver. With an artist of his size, you have to be aware of — you know, just, we looked at a few locations in Vancouver, it was a little hot. … The Maple Ridge location felt the most tucked away and ducked off, and it was surrounded by trees, and it just felt like the safest place to do it.”

He added, “I’ve known [Drake] for a few years. We’ve talked about working for a few years now, and I just knew it was gonna be when the time was right. I was supposed to do the ‘Search & Rescue‘ video.”

While this marks the first time Bennett and Drake have professionally linked, Bennett previously directed Lil Yachty’s videos for “Poland” and “Strike (Holster).”

Drake celebrated For All The Dogs by performing his It’s All A Blur Tour at his hometown Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, where he’ll return for another show on Saturday night (October 7).

Fans Are Debating Whether “For All The Dogs” Or “Utopia” Deserves Album Of The Year

Now that Drake’s album For All The Dogs has dropped, fans finally feel as though Travis Scott’s Utopia has a competitor. As the year comes to a close, the music industry has witnessed the release of several highly-anticipated albums that have ignited passionate discussions among fans and critics alike. Two of the biggest names in the rap and hip-hop scene, Drake and Travis Scott, have dropped albums that are the center of intense debate for the coveted title of “Album of the Year.” “Travis Scott made a better album than Drake this year,” one person stated on X. “Drake album is way better than Travis Scott. I skipped so many songs on Travis,” another contrasted.

Drake’s For All The Dogs arrived with a bang, living up to the hype that surrounds any project from the Canadian superstar. Well, mostly. Fans have had mixed reactions to the project, claiming that it’s not the Drake they expected. However, like most Drake projects, it will probably have a huge debut and at least chart on the Billboard Top 200 as all of his previous albums have. With an impressive 170 million records sold worldwide, Drake ranks among the most successful music artists in history. His impressive track record includes twelve chart-topping (No. 1) albums on the Billboard 200 and a remarkable eleven number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Only time will tell if For All The Dogs will live up to the hype.

Drake’s “For All The Dogs” Vs. Travis Scott’s “Utopia”

On the other side of the AOTY debate stands Travis Scott’s Utopia, an album that has been eagerly anticipated since he hinted at its existence. Known for his boundary-pushing creativity and ability to create immersive sonic experiences, Scott did not disappoint. Utopia was released in July of this year and people were impressed. With 19-tracks worth of listening, critics raved about the production. People have even said that it’s been some of the best rapping that Travis has ever done throughout his career. He also had a layered set of features which gave Utopia depth. From Beyonce to Teezo Touchdown, SZA, and several others, Utopia was an overall solid release.

The debate between For All The Dogs and Utopia is about the distinct approaches they bring to the table. Drake has an introspective storytelling and gift for making hits that resonate with a wide audience. This is somewhat of a contrast to Travis Scott’s experimental and genre-blurring soundscapes that push the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop. Both albums have received critical acclaim, and fans are divided along lines of personal preference. Drake’s emotional depth and lyrical prowess have earned him a devoted fan base that connects deeply with his music. In contrast, Scott’s ability to create an immersive experience through his music captivates a different set of fans. People who value innovation & creativity. Ultimately, the choice between these two albums may come down to individual taste. What are your thoughts? Let us know on HNHH!

Sexyy Red Thanks Drake For Including Her On “For All The Dogs”

Today, Drake dropped off his highly-anticipated new album, For All The Dogs. The LP includes appearances from the likes of J. Cole, Lil Yachty, Chief Keef, and even his 5-year-old son, Adonis. Sexyy Red is also featured on one track titled “Rich Baby Daddy” alongside SZA. Recently, the St. Louis-born rapper took to social media to thank Drake amid the release, showing her appreciation for the love he’s shown her throughout the year.

“Thank u Drake for supporting me all year and letting me b apart of your amazing album,” she wrote. The two of them teased a pseudo-fling over the summer, with Drake dubbing the “Pound Town” performer his “rightful wife.” Though their romantic relationship doesn’t seem to have been serious, it looks like their platonic relationship is. She later joined Drake as an opening act on his It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage. The Canadian hitmaker even recently gifted her a diamond Cartier watch, which she says she’s never seen anything like before.

What Did Drake Say About His Stomach Problems?

Few people can relate to Drake’s career achievements, but we know we share at least one thing in common with the record-breaking chart-topper: A stomach ache can still bring him to his knees.

On Friday, October 6, Drake finally released his For All The Dogs album, and, as is the case with every Drake project, the rest of the day was consumed by people dissecting everything about it. But Drake fans might want to especially savor this ritual because For All The Dogs could be his last drop for a while.

“I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” Drake said on his Table For One show on SiriusXM’s Sound 42. “I’mma be real with you. I need to focus on my health, first and foremost, and I’ll talk about that soon enough. Nothing crazy, but I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems, for years, with my stomach.”

He added, “I need to focus on my health, and I need to get right, and I’m gonna do that. […] I have a lot of other things that I would love to focus on, so I’m going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit. I don’t know what ‘a little bit’ is. Maybe a year or something. Maybe a little bit longer.”

In February, Drake told Lil Yachty that he had started contemplating what his rap retirement may eventually look like, and an excerpt of what he had to say then can be read below:

“I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit. I feel like a lot of people that I’ve watched as the years have gone on, it’s a really addictive, competitive space, and oftentimes, you’re addicted to the competition itself. And so, sometimes it’ll baffle you. Like, why are these people still making attempts at trying to present in the space? And then you’ll realize, like, their needs and desires and their soul was probably fed for so long off of being a guy or the guy that they can’t let it go.

I guess what’s left for me is just to find a way to gracefully — like, I’m not ready now, but to gracefully continue making projects that are extremely interesting and hopefully cherished by people, and then to find the right time to say, ‘I can’t wait to see what the next generation does.’ I’ll still be around to work with people or do a show here or there, but I’m not going to force myself to compete.”

Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage is winding down, with hometown dates at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena tonight (October 6) and tomorrow (October 7). See all of his remaining dates here.
