Sharing with Vevo’s Footnotes, Havoc revealed he was involved in a chaotic fight on the site of the video, which could have led to his death.

The note reads, “One shocking moment was when me and a guy from my block got into an argument because he felt he wasn’t getting enough shine in the video. We started fighting and we both fell into a puddle of water, and one of the movie lights fell in with us. We could have gotten electrocuted to death. That was wild.”

JAY-Z’s Team ROC Enlists Attorney Alex Spiro to Seek Justice for Wrongful Arrest of Jermelle English Jr.

JAY-Z Becomes First Black Male Artist to Have 10 Albums Go Double-Platinum

Team ROC, the social justice and philanthropic arm of Roc Nation, has taken up the cause of Jermelle English Jr., who was unjustly and forcefully apprehended by the Kenosha Police Department at an Applebee’s in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Attorney Alex Spiro, renowned for representing prominent figures like Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, Elon Musk, Robert Kraft, and Naomi Osaka, will lead the legal effort to clear English’s name and explore potential civil suits against those responsible.

The incident, which unfolded in mid-July, saw Kenosha police officers entering the restaurant in pursuit of hit-and-run suspects. Disturbing video footage shows English Jr. pleading his innocence before multiple officers aggressively subdued him while he held his infant child.

Team ROC Managing Director Dania Diaz condemned the incident, stating, “The reckless arrest of Jermelle English Jr. and the careless endangerment of his infant child by the Kenosha Police Department is an absolute travesty.” The organization is committed to supporting English Jr. and his family, demanding justice, and holding the involved officers accountable.

This incident comes three years after the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, a tragic event that further underscored the nationwide issue of police brutality.

Team ROC has a history of advocating for justice, previously organizing rallies and providing legal assistance to those affected by police-related issues, including paying legal fees for peaceful demonstrators arrested during their advocacy for justice in the Alvin Cole case.

Chance the Rapper Revealed He Once Considered His Rap Name to be Tony Jizzle

Chance the Rapper also went by a different name. Chance The Rapper joined Ebro Darden for an in-person conversation at Chicago’s flagship Apple Michigan Avenue Store. Their discussion centered the momentous 10th anniversary of Chance’s breakthrough mixtape, Acid Rap. In this engaging interview, Chance shared he almost was “Tony Jizzle.”

“My original name for a short period of time was Tony Jizzle,” Chance revealed. “It would’ve been a whole different trajectory. Still in the same space I’m in, but just a different path to getting right back here.”

He added, “I could rhyme a lot of things with Jizzle and it was just like I always wanted the name Tony. Tony or Max when I was a kid. I wanted to be white when I was little, man, I wanted a name like Tony or Max or I don’t know, some cool Scott.”

As we all know, Chance decided to stick with a variation of his birth name, bringing him much success.

“I feel like Chance the Rapper is also a cool name,” Chance said. “You don’t know that many people named Chance and then it’s like you could just be like it’s Chance. I’d be like Chance who? You know in Chicago they call me Chance da Rapper. Really they say Chandler rapper.”

Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Nelly Furtado Reunite for New Single “Keep Going Up”

Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Nelly Furtado Reunite for New Single "Keep Going Up"

In a musical reunion that’s been long-awaited, legendary producer Timbaland is back with a bang on his latest single, “Keep Going Up,” featuring the dynamic talents of Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. This track not only marks Timbaland’s triumphant return but also serves as his debut as an artist under the partnership between his Mosley Music Group and Def Jam Recordings.

Fans will remember this iconic trio from their 2007 hit, “Give It To Me,” which skyrocketed to #1 on the Billboard 200 and has since amassed nearly a billion streams. The track was a pivotal part of Timbaland’s platinum-certified full-length album, Shock Value, which dominated the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.

“Keep Going Up” showcases Timbaland’s signature sound, with a head-nodding drum groove and a thick bassline laying the foundation for dynamic verses by Nelly Furtado. Justin Timberlake adds his hypnotic high-register vocals, weaving seamlessly into the rich layers of production.

The origins of this musical gem trace back to Timbaland’s Beatclub, a thriving music creator platform. Collaborating with Beatclub members Last Trip to the Moon, Timbaland found his inspiration. After a session with production team members Brandon Stewart and Brandon Cordoba, who created the beat, Timbaland was ignited with creative energy. With his signature production style, he brought together Timberlake and Furtado as featured vocalists.

You can hear the new single below.

Oprah Winfrey And Dwayne Johnson Donate $10 million To Launch Immediate Funding For Maui Residents

Screen Shot 2023 09 01 at 6.38.04 AM

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne Johnson have donated $10 million to establish a fund that will give direct cash assistance to Maui residents displaced by catastrophic wildfires that destroyed hundreds of homes on the island.

The People’s Fund of Maui will give $1,200 a month to adults who are not able to return to their primary residences because of the recent wildfires, including people who owned and rented their homes, according to the fund’s website. The fund will also seek donations to extend the length of time it can provide the support.

“How do we help?” the “Young Rock” star said he and Winfrey asked each other during the wildfires, saying in a video released along with the announcement that they grappled with how to best direct their efforts. “You want to take care of the greatest need of the people, and that’s giving them money.”

They are looking forward to the help of “every person who called me and said, ‘What can I do?’” Winfrey said in the video. “This is what you can do.”
Winfrey, who lives on Maui part-time, visited an emergency shelter on Maui in the days after the wildfire hit and worried about effectively getting resources to residents. At least 115 people were killed in the fires, though an unknown number are still missing. The fire that ripped through the historic town of Lahaina on Aug. 8 was the deadliest in the U.S. in more than a century.

In the announcement, Winfrey and Johnson said they consulted with “community elders, leaders and residents including Hōkūlani Holt-Padilla, Keali’i Reichel, Archie Kalepa, Ekolu Lindsey, Kimo Falconer, Tiare Lawrence, Kaimana Brummel, Kaleikoa Ka’eo, Brian Keaulana, Kaimi Kaneholani, Henohea Kāne, Paele Kiakona, Ed Suwanjindar, Shep Gordon and Jason Momoa.”

T.I. and Tiny Seeking Legal Fees from Ex-Friend Sabrina Peterson

sabrina

Two years ago rapper T.I. and his wife, singer Tiny Harris were sued by their former friend Sabrina Peterson for defamation of character, invasion of privacy, interference with prospective economic advantage, and emotional distress. Peterson publicly accused the couple of being sexual predators and luring women with drugs for their sexual pleasure.

Now T.I. and Tiny are seeking reimbursement of their legal fees after Peterson quietly dropped the case.

Radar Online reports:

Rapper T.I. and his wife Tiny want their ex-friend Sabrina Peterson to pay a 6-figure sum to cover the legal fees they racked up defending themselves in the lawsuit she brought accusing the couple of a coordinated harassment attack, RadarOnline.com has learned.

According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, T.I. [real name: Clifford Harris] and Tiny have demanded $164,650.56 from Sabrina.

Now, in a newly filed document, T.I. and Tiny asked the court to award them $164,650.

“The Harrises’ request for $164,650.56 in attorneys’ fees and costs is reasonable and in line with fee awards regularly affirmed in this district. Given the complexity of the legal issues, the time necessary to adjudicate Peterson’s seven causes of action over a two-year period, and the additional costs of appeal, the amount requested should be awarded in full,” the couple’s lawyer wrote.

A judge has yet to rule. The case remains ongoing with the remaining claims.

Thoughts?

50 Cent Brings Out Nas, Chris Brown, DaBaby & Jeremih At Sold-Out Los Angeles Show

50 on G-Unit Biopic: 'I'd Like to Forget G-Unit'

If you were in Los Angeles last night, there was only one place to be: 50 Cent at crypto.com Arena (formerly known as Staples Center)! Presented by Live Nation, this was The Final Lap Tour 2023, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of his standout debut album, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ — a project that has remained a staple in Hip-Hop to this date.

And with it being the city of Angels, there was no doubt in the world that the New York spitter had a few surprises under his belt. Especially after he brought out J. Cole in Brooklyn, New York!

To kick things off, Jeremih was the first to open the show, performing smash hits such as “Planez” featuring J. Cole and even bringing out Dreezy to do their smash hit “Body.” He’d later come back out closer to the end of 50’s set, as they performed “Down On Me” — a song that not only solidified their working relationship, but their long-standing friendship too.

Busta Rhymes was next to take the stage; you already know he’s bringing the energy. While performing his own jams, he also brought out the West Coast’s Problem, who stole the show with “Like Whaaat.” If that wasn’t enough, B-Real from Cypress Hill was next to pop on stage, performing “Hand on the Pump.”

50 Cent’s headlining set was the moment everyone was waiting for. 20 years later, and he truly hasn’t missed a beat. The “In Da Club” rapper graced the stage alongside his Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, and suddenly it became a G-Unit show. “What Up Gangsta” kicked off a string of hits to follow: “I Run New York,” “Hate It Or Love It,” “Magic Stick,” and “p.i.m.p.”

But no one was prepared for the first special guest of the evening: Nas. “Hate Me Now” and “Made You Look” had the whole arena bursting in applause.

This might be a good time to talk about how hilarious 50 Cent is, trolling Snoop Dogg earlier in the day by telling everyone that he had all the comped tickets to tonight’s Los Angeles show. Snoop even made a PSA stating that he didn’t have the tickets and to stop hitting his line.

YG was next to come out, performing his radio hit “Big Bank” and “Toot It And Boot It.” He then shouted out Lebron James who was present. James currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, with crypto.com Arena being their home stadium. Tyler The Creator was also cited talking to Top Dawg from TDE.

Before you know it, DaBaby pops out on stage to perform “Suge” and “SHAKE SUMN.” He also told 50 he loved him, following it with a Pop Smoke tribute.

Overall, the evening was lit already. But just before his last songs, Chris Brown came out to bless the fans. After performing “No Guidance,” he told 50 Cent he loved him in front of a sold-out crowd..

For everyone who purchased tickets to see 50 tonight, they certainly got their money’s worth. He closed the show with “Many Men” and “In Da Club.”

Mase Takes Shots at Cam'Ron in New Song "The Oracle"

Yesterday (Aug. 30), Dipset general and ‘It Is What It Is” host Cam’Ron shared some celebratory news about his It Is What It Is co-host and longtime friend Ma$e.
