More people were lined up to meet Beyonce at the 2024 Grammy Awards than there were in line to actually win an award. It seemed like every celebrity at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 4) wanted to get a picture with her and hear her voice if only for a fleeting moment. One of these stars was 2023’s breakout hitmaker Ice Spice, who greeted the Houston icon in a clip that surfaced online. Their interaction was quick and respectful, with Queen Bey also greeting the Bronx native’s producer RIOTUSA. However, many fans noticed that she was much more excited when Coco Jones came into her sightline, extending a hug to her fellow R&B artist as Spice seemed to bask in the moment with Blue Ivy and Jay-Z beside her.

But if you see a longer version of the first clip below, you’ll see that this wasn’t really the case. Moreover, Coco Jones basically got in line after hugging Beyonce, and she went back to her conversation with Ice Spice. They spoke for a while longer, posed for a picture, and exchanged a hug, as well. As such, folks are likely exaggerating when they say that the RENAISSANCE artist cast Spice aside dismissively. Regardless, it was a big night for both rising titans, with a couple of nominations for both Beyhive members and a win for Coco in the Best R&B Performance category.

Unfortunately, Ice Spice didn’t win for her nominations, including Best Rap Song with the Nicki Minaj collab “Barbie World.” Her team-up with Taylor Swift on “Karma” remix also missed out on the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. At least the 24-year-old shares something with Coco Jones beyond great artistry and Beyonce fandom: respect and love for Victoria Monét. She beat out both of them in the Best New Artist field (plus other awards), and all three of them were worthy of the praise.

Ahead of the new year, he’s among those feeling in a reflective mood, taking time to type out a list of his favourite songs from the past 12 months. It’s worth noting that not all of the tracks are brand new releases – in fact, most of them are throwbacks, beginning with salute’s “Colourblind” featuring ABRA, which came out over eight years ago.

Titles on Tyler’s list that did actually arrive in 2023 include “NuWhip” from Paris Texas, “b 4 we kiss goodnight” by Tammy Lucas, and Lil Yachty’s collaboration with Southside on “Gimme Da Lite.” The 32-year-old also mentions his own release from this spring, “DOGTOOTH,” a previous cut from his Call Me If You Get Lost LP. Moreover, he recently chose what his least favorite track off the record was during an interview with The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1 in the United Kingdom. Fif’s answer will definitely shock you, but it speaks to how well this song has aged.

“‘Many Men’ was my least favorite at that point,” 50 Cent revealed during their conversation. “Because, musically we was in the boom-bap phase. We was in that hard-hitting intensity, the energy on the records, and it’s the slowest song on Get Rich or Die Tryin’. And it’s now the tempo that the artists are rapping to. So the fast tempo, hard-hitting beats, that was that era, that time period. And the whole album had it.

I have this friend and he ended up having this unfortunate run-in with the law. He ends up coming out and he was such a trustworthy person before he went to jail. He was like, ‘I been researching medical transportation.’ Basically, we would get these vans and put them with wheelchair lifts and pick up people who need rides. It has helped my mother, sick cousins, family members and friends. I built so many great relationships with so many great people behind this business. Moreover, Weezy recently revealed to Rolling Stone that Stunna once chastised him for sounding too much like Jay-Z, a weird comparison with today’s context in mind. Furthermore, the New Orleans legend told the publication the story when asked whether he listens to any hip-hop these days.

“When it comes to rap, I don’t listen to no one,” Lil Wayne revealed. “I just don’t have time to, because I’m trying to get better every day. I tell my own artist that, too. When you find a favorite artist, you’re going to start sounding like them. It took Birdman and them to pull my a** aside and be like, ‘Bro, I’m tired of every song you doing sounding like damn Jay-Z. 50 Cent just named Method Man his favorite MC in the legendary Wu-Tang Clan after the NAACP Image Awards. Moreover, Meth won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series award for portraying criminal defense attorney Davis MacLean in Power Book II: Ghost. Of course, it’s no surprise that series head honcho Fif would shout out his collaborator, but the Long Island native is still one of the most respected Wu members. Also, the ceremony nominated him for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for appearing in the hip-hop musical drama On The Come Up.

“@methodmanofficial is no joke,” 50 wrote via Instagram. “He was always #1 in Wu Tang to me but he has transitioned into something that has to be celebrated” he wrote. “This train won’t stop, shout out to @naacp for recognizing and the ZARS network.” Furthermore, the Queens MC co-created and executive produces the Power universe, which has been a big factor in establishing his TV empire. Afterwards, Method Man (real name Clifford Smith) replied “Boom!!!” in the comments, adding trophy and fire emojis.
