Wack 100 Clarifies Alleged Issues With Fat Joe Regarding Big Pun’s Widow

Wack 100 found himself in another controversy. This time, it’s surrounding Fat Joe’s long-standing issues with Big Pun’s widow, Liza Rios. During a recent Instagram video post, the West Coast executive detailed that he worked things out with Rios to help her family. However, he seemingly called out Fat Joe over allegations that he withheld Pun’s royalties from the late rapper’s family. In 2016, Joe and Rios settled their suit for an undisclosed amount, though some industry experts said Pun was owed closer to $2 million.

Wack took to Instagram where he clarified the things that he said during the call, including his stance with Fat Joe. “I never had a conversation with Fat Joe about Big Pun or business with Big Pun,” he said to begin with. However, Wack said that his most recent interaction with Joe was pleasant. “Last time I seen Fat Joe, we was at Prime 112, 25 deep, and he covered the whole bill. That’s Game’s friend. He been my friend,” he said in an attempt to clarify their suspected issues.

Wack 100 & Big Pun’s Widow Speak

Wack explained that he wasn’t entirely knowledgeable about the issues between Fat Joe and Liza Rios before meeting with her. “Big Pun’s wife came to see me, Liza. Told me she was looking for a situation that would be healthy for her,” he said. “Big Pun, I feel like is part of the culture, like, that’s Big Pun. His story needs to be told. What I did do is line up a situation that was healthy for her,” he added. Wack said that he reached out to his team to push a series on Big Pun, which he said is now on the way.

Ultimately, Wack 100 didn’t want anyone, including Fat Joe, to think there were any actual issues. He said that he and Fat Joe have never had a conversation surrounding Big Pun in the past. “As far as I’m concerned, he wanna see Pun win and his family win. The Fat Joe I know,” he said. “Let’s kill that narrative. Fat Joe’s a friend of mine… Let’s kill the narrative that Wack stood up to Fat Joe,” he said. Check out the full clip above.

“Yo, the realest beef was with Terror Squad,” Tony Yayo said. “He was a real n-gga, I gotta give it up. The realest beef was with Fat Joe and them. We outside.” Pistol Pete resplied, “Tony Yayo, we fuck with you, though. We out here in the trenches, n-gga. We out here, fuck all that. We out here together, n-gga, a bunch of real n-ggas.”

Fat Joe Explains Why He Turned Down $150K For Virgil Abloh Louis Vuitton Shoes

Fat Joe is someone who has always been considered a sneakerhead. Overall, he loves his sneakers. He has an extensive collection that can rival anybody in the hip-hop world. Consequently, when you reach a certain level of fame, you start to get a whole lot of gifts. Over the years, brands have reached out to him with seeded sneakers. Moreover, his connections have oftentimes led him to receive “friends and family” sneakers. These are shoes that are very limited and were made just for specific people related to the designer or influencer.

One of the larger collections that people have been fawning over as of late, is the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection. Ultimately, this was one of Virgil Abloh’s final pieces prior to his untimely passing. Overall, these shoes are extremely expensive. Moreover, there were some friends and family colorways that were divided up amongst some very famous people. As it turns out, Fat Joe was one of the beneficiaries of this. In a recent video on his Instagram, the legendary artist even revealed that people have been making wild offers.

Fat Joe Reveals His Logic

In the video above, reposted by @thehiphopwolf, you can see Fat Joe explain some of the offers he has received. Overall, the highest bid so far has been a whopping $150K. However, Fat Joe has no intentions of selling the shoes. Although it has been hard for him to not accept the various offers that have come in, he believes it would be against his morals to sell. This is because the shoes were a gift. Moreover, when you contemplate just how much Virgil Abloh means to so many, you can see why he would hang on to these. Either way, this just goes to show how wild the sneaker market can be sometimes.

Virgil Abloh’s work with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Nike was the stuff of legend. Even now, he is considered to be one of the greatest streetwear designers ever. That said, it should come as no surprise that people are looking to pay top dollar for some ultra-rare kicks. Let us know what you think of Fat Joe and his rationale, in the comments below.

Today in Hip Hop History: Big Pun’s Posthumous Sophomore LP ‘Yeeeah Baby’ Dropped 23 Years Ago

Screen Shot 2023 04 04 at 9.37.31 AM

On this day in 2000, the first posthumous L.P. to be released by the first “Latin to go platinum” entitled Yeeeah Baby was released on the Loud/Terror Squad imprint.

Christopher “Big Pun” Rios passed away just shy of two months before his sophomore L.P.’s release and anticipated success, which came on the heels of his debut album, Capital Punishment. With appearances from the entire Terror Squad and executive production by the T.S. general Fat Joe, the 16-track album showed Pun’s acute diversity in his lyricism and approach to song-making, which yielded some of the most memorable songs of his career. The album took longer to record because of Pun’s extreme obesity since his breathing problems couldn’t permit him to spit his custom, rapid-fire flow freely.

Some of the L.P.’s favorites are the Puerto Rican anthem “100%” with Terror Squad crooner Tony Sunshine on the hook, “New York Giants” featuring M.O.P., “Ms. Martin,” an ode to his protege Remy Ma and the touching single “It’s So Hard” featuring Donnell Jones.

Salute to Big Pun, Pun Jr., and the entire Terror Squad for this remarkable piece of Hip Hop History!

Fat Joe Says Ja Morant’s Father Tee Needs To Step Up Instead Of Getting Drunk At Games

Just about everyone has something to say about Ja Morant, and it’s Fat Joe’s turn to weigh in. The young Memphis Grizzlies star has been at the center of controversy, first after reports of an altercation with a 17-year-old. The incident reportedly occurred during a pick-up game. Reports stated Morant assaulted the teen and displayed a firearm. Later, the 23-year-old was hit with more trouble after he showed off a gun while on Livestream.

Sports commentators have been dishing out advice to Morant. Shaquille O’Neal, Shannon Sharpe, and Stephen A. Smith have all taken to their platforms to address the ongoing scandal. Others have claimed Morant has put the future of his NBA career in jeopardy in order to look tough. Fat Joe chimed into the conversation, and he had quite a bit to say about Ja’s father, Tee Morant.

Fat Joe Shares His Thoughts

“Ja Morant always got his father there. Instead of his father enjoying the scene and getting drunk at the game, he better school his son,” said Joe. Tee Morant is often seen at games enjoying himself, and the rapper thinks he’s a negative influence. Tee and Shannon Sharpe recently had a tense confrontation at a basketball game. They were able to lay their differences aside.

Like others, Fat Joe also delivered words of guidance to Ja. “Bro, you did not come this far to f*ck your sh*t up. Your family has to really be your family and talk to you. I hope somebody gets him a copy of this because I don’t make money off Ja Morant. I’m just telling you the truth.”

Joe also advised against the ‘keeping to real’ persona. He calls it “the dumbest shit I ever heard in my life,” warning that this path leads to being broke and jobless. “I don’t care how nice he is, he will be playing in Serbia-Montenegro. And his father who likes to go like this and the three-pointer at every game. He better love the game in Turkey.”

This is a similar take to that of Shaq, who took a straightforward approach in his message to Ja Morant. Stephen Jackson wanted Ja to know that everyone makes mistakes, but it’s how you learn from them and push forward. Check out Fat Joe above.

Nelly Is Starting His Own Music Festival And Of Course It’s Named After One Of His Biggest Hits

It seems like every star in music has their own music festival these days. J. Cole’s got Dreamville, Tyler The Creator’s got Flog Gnaw, and Usher has taken over the Lovers And Friends Fest. Well, another contender has thrown their name in the ring, and like Usher, he’s a millennial favorite who’s named his event after one of his biggest hits and stocked its lineup with a bunch of his contemporaries.

Nelly‘s Hot In Herre festival is aimed for June 24 at Toronto’s Downsview Park with a lineup consisting of millennial favorites like Akon, Chingy, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, and T.I. Not bad for a one-day festival that isn’t in any of the booked artists’ usual stomping grounds. You’d think it’d be in St. Louis, right?

In the press release, Nelly sort of explains the location. “Toronto is one of my favorite cities to perform in, and the fact that I get to come back and bring all the people that came up with me in the industry means everything,” he says. “We have a lot of surprises in store for you, Toronto, and the Hot in Herre team can’t wait for this summer.”

General admission tickets are already online starting at $170. You can find more information on the official website.
