Tokyo Toni Sings Defamatory Song About Spice Amid Erica Mena Racism Scandal

Tokyo Toni just threw her hat into the Spice and Erica Mena ring, which is inspiring a lot of debate online over the latter “Love & Hip Hop” star calling the former a “monkey” after she spoke on her kids. Moreover, Toni even wrote a whole song about it that unfortunately perpetuates that insult and justifies its racially charged impact. In a new clip on social media, Angela White (formerly known as Blac Chyna)’s mother hits some dance moves while singing along. “Blue monkey Spice” and “talkin’ on people kids ain’t f***in’ nice” are among the few lyrics on display. Of course, this contributed to already fiery and contested back-and-forths on the Internet about whether Mena’s insult was warranted.

On one hand, many agree with Tokyo Toni that mentioning Erica’s relationship with her kids was a step too far for Spice. On the other, many felt that a wrong doesn’t make a right, and that this is still an egregious comment to make. What’s more is that this incident added to a long history of controversy surrounding Mena’s racial identity and treatment of Black individuals. However, some didn’t even have a set opinion on all this, and just thought that it was strange for Toni to make a song about it in the first place.

She never asked you for a dime her son. You should be ashamed of yourself. Why are you putting pressure where it doesn’t have to be? You could’ve come in here but you think it’s good don’t you.

Some have even condemned Mena after perceiving her word choice as a racial slur. Others, like Jess Hilarious, don’t think that the socialite’s intention is as heinous as the public is making it out to be.

Safaree Speaks On Erica Mena Drama, Reality Star Allegedly Lied About Pregnancy During Atlanta Arrest

Those closest to Mena have had plenty to say about the situation, with some of them defending her and insisting that she had no ill intent in calling Spice a “monkey.” Others, including her baby daddy, Safaree, seem far less impressed with the New Yorker’s actions.

Surprisingly, the 42-year-old chose to take the high road when sharing his statement on Sunday (September 3). Erica “regrets some of the circumstances of that night,” however an officer admitted to using “unnecessary force” against her in his report as well.

Lil Scrappy Walks Back Defense Of Erica Mena After Seeing “Monkey” Clip For Himself

Earlier this week, it was announced that Erica Mena’s time on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta had come to an end. The news broke following the airing of an episode after Mena referred to fellow cast member Spice as a “monkey”. “Working hand-in-hand with our partners, viewers will see the impact of Erica Mena’s remarks play out over the final three episodes of the season. Effective immediately, she will not appear in the next season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” read a statement from the show’s producers.

Fans and the wider community have been mixed about the news. While some see it as justified, others see it as exploitative. “They waited until AFTER they recorded it, edited it, promoted it and aired it. Then fired her months after it happened. You know, I don’t ever want to wish someone be fired or put in jail or dead,” Scrappy began. “I don’t want that shit for Erica. But she was wrong. Erica Mena was wrong. Erica Mena was wrong….Colorism is real. We do know that. Racism is real. Hate is real.” It’s clear that, with context, Scrappy wanted no part in defending Mena’s actions.

While her comments towards Spice are the reason she is being fired, it’s not the only issue that Mena is currently facing. Last weekend, Mena was arrested alongside some of her co-stars following a drunken altercation. Erica Mena Under Fire For Calling Spice A “Monkey” During LHHATL Altercation

Things got heated on a recent episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Erica Mena and Spice sat down to hash out some beef, but things quickly got out of control. Spice told Mena that her oldest son doesn’t like her, and things went south from there. Mena flipped the table they were sitting at over onto Spice, and the insult hurling began. She’s now under fire for calling Spice a racial slur during the altercation, with social media users noting that she took things way too far.

“You should have died, b*tch,” Mena told Spice, referencing the 41-year-old’s recent, nearly-fatal hospitalization. Spice continued to shout that Mena’s son “hates” her, and eventually, Mena called Spice a “monkey.” The Puerto Rican and Dominican personality is now being accused of being racist, colorist, and more. Some have also taken the opportunity to dig up some old reports about her, in which she’s accused of using the same slur against a club promoter.

Back in 2015, a promoter alleged that Mena was given cash for a scheduled appearance at an Ohio nightclub. Unfortunately, they claim she failed to ever actually appear. The promoter says that she went to the hotel Mena was staying at, where staff informed her of some comments the personality had allegedly made about her. Staff members accused Erica of making racist statements like “I don’t like working with these Black monkeys” and ” I don’t usually do business with these Black monkeys.”

At the time, the promoter claims that she wasn’t sure if the staff’s accounts were legitimate, or if they were just trying to provoke drama.
