Chris Brown Gets Personal With New Quavo Diss “Weakest Link”

Chris Brown is done playing around. The R&B singer has spent years throwing subtle shots at Quavo, but the gloves have officially come off. He dropped the song “Weakest Link” on April 19, and it establishes a level of ferocity that the beef previously lacked. Brown not only calls Quavo the worst member of Migos, but he goes after the rapper’s love life. More specifically, he claims to have slept with Quavo’s girlfriend while the couple were still together. Like we said, gloves off.

Brown uploaded “Weakest Link” to YouTube and Instagram. The title refers to the aforementioned criticism the singer made about Quavo’s status within Migos. The verses range in quality, with Brown sometimes dipping into forgettable bars about dropping “facts” and being “dripped in red.” Fortunately, he brings the heat out of the gate. He targets Quavo’s past with violence, specifically the 2021 incident where he fought Saweetie in an elevator. He also talks about running into Quavo at Fashion Week, and resisting the urge to beat the rapper up. “All I kept thinkin’ ’bout was breakin’ yo’ face, but I gave you a pass,” Brown raps. “You lucky I ain’t wanna f**k the money up.”

All these shots are low caliber in comparison to the girlfriend bombshell, however. Brown and Quavo fell out due to the fact that the former dated Brown’s ex, Karrueche Tran. Brown brings it back to this point and then takes it a step further. “You f**ked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no f**k, lil n***a,” he raps. “‘Cause I f**ked yo’ ex when you were still with her, b***h, I’m up.” This piece of information, if true, is a signifier that things were much worse between Brown and Quavo than fans realized. It’s unclear whether the woman Brown is referring to is Saweetie.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new diss, “Weakest Link” by Chris Brown? Does Brown cross the line with his claims? Does this give him the leg up in the feud? Will Quavo be able to deliver a worthwhile response? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:

Put you to bed
Night, night, that’s Sudafed
Show me that I’m tender, b***h, time to prove what you just said
R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one, I got true respect
Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead

Is Chris Brown Dissing Quavo On “Freak”?

The longstanding feud with Chris Brown and Quavo is somehow still relevant to hip-hop discourse in 2024. Over the years, Chris Breezy’s picked up feuds with several artists, whether R&B stars or rappers, for petty reasons. Frank Ocean, for example, allegedly got into it with Chris Brown over a parking spot and also had a rift with Drake that reportedly resulted in a club brawl. In the latter circumstance, their shared affection for Rihanna led to the kerfuffle, though she isn’t the only woman whom Breezy has been noticeably willing to go to war for.

In the wee hours of Thursday morning (April 11th), Chris Brown unveiled the deluxe edition of his latest project 11:11 containing the single, “Freak.” Though the record serves as a posse cut with verses from Lil Wayne, Tee Grizzley and Joyner Lucas, the singer’s bars have already taken over the timeline, though not necessarily for the right reasons.  On the song, Chris Brown disses Quavo, and the Migos, by extension.

Chris Brown’s “Freak”: What Did He Say About Quavo?

In “Freak,” Chris Brown plays with phonetics between the name of the Migos rapper and a famous tequila brand as a means to get his point across. “Okay, now f**kin’ my old bitches ain’t gon’ make us equal/ Sippin’ that 1942 ’cause I don’t do no Cuervo (Quavo)/ Freak bitch, she like Casamigos, not the Migos,” Breezy raps over the nostalgic sample of Nelly’s hit record, “Air Force 1s.”

Though certainly not a scathing bar that would warrant a response, the issues between the two surround their romance with Karrueche Tran. For context, Quavo and Karrueche were the subject of dating rumors shortly after her split from Chris Brown. And while Tran has gone as far as filing a restraining order against the R&B star, it seems that he still hasn’t entirely gotten over her, nor the fact that Quavo, his then-friend and collaborator, had supposedly “betrayed” him.

Did Quavo Respond?

Quavo has yet to acknowledge Chris Brown’s recent bars. Considering their history, it seems unlikely that Quavo engages with this on wax. Over the years, the two haven’t necessarily made any attempts to bury the hatchet, either. In 2017, they nearly got into a physical altercation at the BET Awards After-Party, nothing really came of it after. Even at the top of the year, when organizers seated Chris Brown and Quavo next to each other, the former explained that he didn’t really have any control over the situation. “Can’t pick who u sit by. F*ck all that growth sh*t. N***a not finna fumble my bag for little n***as,” Brown said on Instagram.

Interestingly enough, that specific seating arrangement sparked an even bigger dialogue about who the bigger star is between Quavo and Chris Brown. Though Breezy remained mum on the matter, Quavo later poked his head out and stated that his star-power is undeniable, writing, “The biggest QUAVO HUNCHO!! Aint goin back and forth.” With the release of Chris Brown’s “Freak,” perhaps we can expect a word from Quavo in the future.

Tokyo Toni Sings Defamatory Song About Spice Amid Erica Mena Racism Scandal

Tokyo Toni just threw her hat into the Spice and Erica Mena ring, which is inspiring a lot of debate online over the latter “Love & Hip Hop” star calling the former a “monkey” after she spoke on her kids. Moreover, Toni even wrote a whole song about it that unfortunately perpetuates that insult and justifies its racially charged impact. In a new clip on social media, Angela White (formerly known as Blac Chyna)’s mother hits some dance moves while singing along. “Blue monkey Spice” and “talkin’ on people kids ain’t f***in’ nice” are among the few lyrics on display. Of course, this contributed to already fiery and contested back-and-forths on the Internet about whether Mena’s insult was warranted.

On one hand, many agree with Tokyo Toni that mentioning Erica’s relationship with her kids was a step too far for Spice. On the other, many felt that a wrong doesn’t make a right, and that this is still an egregious comment to make. What’s more is that this incident added to a long history of controversy surrounding Mena’s racial identity and treatment of Black individuals. However, some didn’t even have a set opinion on all this, and just thought that it was strange for Toni to make a song about it in the first place.

Tokyo Toni’s Bizarre Diss Towards Spice

Still, she’s known for being outspoken and unfiltered, such as when he demanded that Tyga pay her daughter’s child support. “@tyga you should be paying child support,” Tokyo Toni expressed on social media. “What kind of man are you? She never asked you for a dime her son. You should be ashamed of yourself. Why are you putting pressure where it doesn’t have to be? You could’ve come in here but you think it’s good don’t you.

“Tyga does not have full custody of my grandson,” she continued. “He has never paid child support in 11 years. It’s about time this boy is growing. Let me put my take on this he has never pay child support and 11 years my daughter takes care of her kids. What woman today would not ask money when you can see that the man is getting money!” For more news and the latest updates on Tokyo Toni, Spice, and Erica Mena, come back to HNHH.
