Snoop Dogg Reveals Spotify Earnings, Recalls Nearly Filing For Bankruptcy

Back in May, Snoop Dogg stopped by The Milken Institute’s 2023 Global Conference in Beverly Hills, where the hitmaker shared his thoughts on artificial intelligence. At one point in the conversation, Snoop went off topic momentarily to express his frustrations with streaming, noting how artists’ success is typically not reflected by their earnings.

“Can someone explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a million dollars? That sh*t don’t make sense to me,” he explained. “I don’t know who the f*ck is running the streaming industry if you in here or not? But you need to give us some information on how to f*cking track this money down… Because one plus one ain’t adding up to two.”

Snoop Dogg Didn’t Even Make $45K From A Billion Streams

The Long Beach native continued, revealing how much he earned from hitting a billion streams on Spotify. “They just sent me some sh*t from Spotify where I got a billion streams,” he shared. “My publisher hit me. I said, ‘Break that down. How much money is that?’ That sh*t wasn’t even $45K.” Unfortunately, this isn’t the only time that Snoop’s talents haven’t paid off financially. During a recent appearance on the Business Untitled podcast, he advocated for schools teaching students financial literacy, reflecting on some of the most difficult points of his career.

“There were times in my career where it got so bad my accountant was like, ‘We should just do bankruptcy,’” he recalled. “My pride got involved. F*ck that. If I say bankruptcy then I look like I f*cked off everything.” He went on, calling for better education when it comes to managing finances. “You got these athletes, you teaching them how to run routes, how to dunk, do interviews and convert into analysts after they finish their career; how about teaching them to be businessmen at the end of their career?”

Taylor Swift’s 2023 Spotify Earnings Are Over $100M: Report

This week, Taylor Swift was named the most-streamed artist of 2023 on Spotify. It didn’t come as a huge surprise, as the hitmaker has had a major year. She kicked off her record-breaking Eras tour in March, which is expected to earn her roughly $4 billion.

She went on to release an Eras concert film in October, which has grossed an additional $250 million worldwide since it came out. On top of the massive success the Pennsylvania native has had with her tour, she also released several re-recorded “Taylor’s Versions” of her albums. Swift dropped the deluxe edition of her 2022 LP Midnights in May, as well. The 33-year-old has had a busy year, to say the least. Luckily for her, however, her hard work has truly paid off.

Her music garnered a staggering total of 26.1 billion streams worldwide on Spotify this year so far, passing up artists like Drake, The Weeknd, Peso Pluma, and more. She even topped Bad Bunny, who was named the most-streamed artist of the past three years in a row. According to Billboard, this also means a massive payday for the “Karma” performer, who’s expected to earn roughly $101 million in Spotify royalties alone by the end of the year. Once publishing revenue is factored in, that totals up to about $131 million.

This number also doesn’t include other major streaming platforms, such as Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music. On those three services combined, the outlet estimates that she’s gotten around 38.3 billion streams in 2023. That equates to roughly $160 million in recorded royalties, and with publishing also added in, $200 million total. What do you think of Taylor Swift’s 2023 Spotify earnings? Are you surprised by how much she’s earned this year? What about her earning the title of most-streamed artist of the year on Spotify? Iggy Azalea OnlyFans Earnings Revealed

Iggy Azalea stunned fans earlier this year when she revealed that she would be starting an OnlyFans. Azalea had been known for her provocative snaps on Instagram. However, no one would have guessed that she would go all the way and end up on OF. Overall, it is a website with a certain reputation attached to it. However, she decided to do it anyway as a means to connect with fans and properly preview new music, without a label getting in the way.

Now, it seems like Azalea’s OnlyFans endeavors have worked out in her favor. Currently, the rapper charges $25 per month for her OnlyFans account. According to Adult Toy Company LELO, her earnings for the entire year were $48 million. This makes her the biggest celebrity on the entire platform. Cardi B made $45 million, however, so she is not far behind. Amber Rose and Tyga also did well for themselves, making upwards of $26 and $20 million, respectively.

So far, it seems as though fans are loving the film. It’s currently boasting perfect scores on both Rotten Tomatoes and CinemaScore. Swift hosted the world premiere of the film at The Grove in Los Angeles earlier this week, sharing some heartfelt words with fans. “I’ve always had fun doing this. I can’t believe I get to do music as a career. That’s cr*zy,” Swift expressed. “I’ve always had so much fun doing it. I’ve never had this much fun in my life as I have had on The Eras Tour. Russ’ Shocking Earnings Revealed

Russ recently hopped on social media to share some motivation for aspiring musicians. He unveiled how much he made this week from his masters, explaining that you don’t have to be the most popular artist in the game to make a lot of money. The rapper also shared that his secret to maximizing his profit is owning his own music, which allows him to keep everything his songs bring in.

His post includes two screenshots of his balances on TuneCore and Vydia. One of them shows a balance of over $79k, while the other shows a balance of over $152k. This means that the performer earned more than $232k this week alone. Clearly, he must be doing something right.

Russ Made Over $232k This Week

He shared a message to followers alongside the reveal. “I know this is redundant to a lotta people but I really believe in trying to help artists understand THEIR potential and I hope to give the artists looking up to me and even my peers in the industry just a peek into an alternative possibility of doing this career,” he explained.

“Create a catalogue of a bunch of good songs that you own. They don’t have to be the biggest in the world but this is a volume game. Record labels make billions a year because of how much catalogue they own. They don’t tour [laughing emoji] you can build up an audience and generate enough money to outsource the same people the major labels hire. I’m blessed and I’m very grateful for my fans and I appreciate you guys for making all this possible. Without y’all I’d still just be chuggin away at this dream so thank you forever.” What do you think of Russ’ earnings? DaBaby Speaks On The Early Days Of His Career

Though he had a lot of good things going for himself at the time, he claims that he was navigating some things in his personal life that he’s glad to have gotten past. Bhad Bhabie’s OnlyFans Saved Her From Being “Broke”

During her recent appearance on Emily Ratajkowski’s High Low podcast, Bhad Bhabie opened up about her life before OnlyFans. The 20-year-old shared that prior to her earnings from the subscription-based site starting to roll in, she was actually “broke.” According to her, her mother had been in control of her money before she turned 18, and had put spending limits on her daughter’s card.

“I wasn’t really thinking much of it at the time,” she began. “But I was actually broke as f*ck before I started OnlyFans. Like, I was actually broke as f*ck. I barely had sh*t. My mom was in control of my money, so she was doing whatever she wanted to do, and I had a $500 limit on my card.” Despite having dropped a few bangers prior to launching her OF, Bhad Bhabie says she never saw any money from her music.

Tyler Perry Gives His Hot Take On Splitting Bills In Relationships

During a recent appearance on Keep It Positive, Sweetie, Tyler Perry shared his take on splitting bills in relationships. The actor and filmmaker started out the conversation by saying that Black women earn more than Black men in society. From there, he shared that he thinks as long as a man is treating his partner well and contributes what he can, there shouldn’t be a problem if he earns less than she does.

“A lot of women, especially Black women, and I might get in trouble for saying this but I will,” he began. “In our society right now, Black women are making a lot more money, for the most part, than Black men.” Perry continued, “If you can find love, if that man works at whatever job and is a good man, and is good to you, and honors you, and honors the house, and honors his wife, and does what he can… because his gift might not be your gift, that is okay. That’s not somebody that’s beneath you. That’s somebody who came to love you at your worth.”

Tyler Perry Says Money Can’t Buy Love

“As long as he’s secure in himself to know that ‘yeah, she makes most of the money, all I can pay is the light bill.’ As long as she’s comfortable enough to say ‘I’m gonna cover the mortgage and all the other stuff,’” he went on. “That is fine.” Perry later explained that when it comes down to someone’s ability to love and support their partner, money doesn’t make a difference.

“I know people whose men can’t touch what they make,” Perry described. “But when you see them together? That love, that support, that ‘I got you, babe,’ it’s a beautiful thing.” Do you agree with Tyler Perry’s take on splitting bills in relationships? T-Pain Reveals Shocking “Buy U A Drank” Earnings

During a recent Twitch stream, T-Pain opened up about his earnings from his 2007 Epiphany hit, “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’).” The song was major at the time of its release, and continues to be a memorable token of the era. Fans would expect that the artist made a killing off the self-produced banger, but according to him, he didn’t make as much as one would expect.

The song also famously features various references to other notable hip hop songs, including Lil Scrappy’s “Money in the Bank,” “Walk It Out” by Unk, and more. Unfortunately, when the song started getting popular, the people behind the songs that he referenced came looking for credit. Nappy Boy Gaming shared a clip of the conversation on Instagram, joking about the surprising revelation. “‘We’ got money in the bank I guess [laughing emoji],” the post is captioned. “Those publishing splits can get the best of us.”

“‘I got money in the bank,’ Scrappy and his writers came for that,” he continued. “Or ‘Snap ya fingers/ Do ya step,’ Lil Jon and E-40 and everybody on that song came for me. They said this is ‘Our money in the bank.’” Are you surprised that “publishing-wise,” T-Pain made nearly nothing?
