Drake Drops ‘For All The Dogs’ Merch Line

Drake is now letting you take For All The Dogs along with you in fashion. Hitting Drake Related, The Boy released merch items for the album, including t-shirts and hoodies. Dropping on his birthday, an Instagram message accompanying the release reads, “More life, more everything. Happy Birthday to The Boy.”

Drake’s For All The Dogs took the No. 1 spot on Billboard behind a 402,000 first week in sales, according to Luminate. The album is Drake’s 13th No. 1 and the fourth-largest total of the year for an album.

For All The Dogs‘ songs were streamed 514.01 million times, the largest streaming week of 2023 for any album and the fourth-largest ever. Drake holds the distinction of holding four of the top five spots for the largest streaming ever.

Drake is now behind JAY-Z as far as No. 1s. Hov has 14, and the chart leader is The Beatles with 19. Taylor Swift is behind Drake at 12.

In other Drake album news, nearly two years after he removed Certified Lover Boy from Grammy consideration, Drake is ready to put his best foot forward with Her Loss.

According to Billboard, Drake has submitted his collaborative album with 21 Savage to the Album of the Year and Best Rap Album categories. In addition, “Rick Flex” and “Spun Bout U” have been added to the record of the year, song of the year, and other considerations.

According to Variety, Drake withdrew his 2022 Grammy nominations almost two years ago. Drake and his management reportedly decided, and the Recording Academy honored his request. There was not direct reason for wanting to be removed.

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy was nominated for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for “Way 2 Sexy,” which featured Young Thug and Future.

The Recording Academy will not add a replacement for Drake, instead opting to move forward with just four nominees in those categories.

The year before, Drake spoke out against the GRAMMYs while supporting The Weeknd.

“I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artist that exist now and the ones that come after,” he wrote in his Instagram Story. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just won’t change their ways. The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way. This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up overtime and pass on to the generations to come.”

Does J. Cole Have A No. 1 Record?

With the release of Drake’s long-awaited album For All The Dogs, he helped his friend and infrequent collaborator J. Cole reach a new career milestone. Their song from the album, “First Person Shooter,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this month, giving Drake a history-making 13 chart-topping hits.

However, it may surprise some longtime listeners of the two blog rap icons that it’s only J. Cole’s first No. 1 on the Hot 100. Despite entering the public consciousness around the same time as Drake, J. Cole had yet to reach the pinnacle of the hot singles chart. The closest he’d ever come to date was No. 2, twice: once in 2021 with his The Off Season single “My Life” featuring Morray, and again earlier this year as a feature on Lil Durk’s “All My Life.” Prior to those peaks, his Revenge Of The Dreamers III single “Middle Child” topped out at No. 4.

Meanwhile, Cole has fared better on the hip-hop-centric charts. All of the above-mentioned songs reached No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, with the exception of “Middle Child,” which peaked at No. 2.

Regardless of how long it took Cole to reach this high watermark, it’s an accomplishment that no one can take away — and that may make it easier to return, if prior chart histories of acts like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and Doja Cat are anything to judge by. He should be getting the chance to do so soon; he’s been teasing his album The Fall-Off for some time, and many fans believe it’s due sometime next year.

Will Drake & Lil Yachty Make A Collab Album?

Over the past few months, Drake and Lil Yachty have formed what appears to be a fast friendship. Early in the year, the duo sat down for an insightful interview in which Drake revealed some of his regrets and hinted at retirement. Instead of retiring, though, he dropped a new album, For All The Dogs, which features Yachty on the song “Another Late Night,” then said he’d be taking a break from music.

Still, with the pair’s chemistry, it’s not a short leap to wonder if they might expand on it with a joint album, the way Drake did with Future on What A Time To Be Alive. Lil Yachty addressed the possibility in a vlog for his ongoing Field Trip Tour by Our Generation Music, saying around the 8:30 mark in the video above, “I think he gon’ take a little second to breathe. Imma take next year to figure out my situation and we’ll look into it in the future.” Yachty also demurred when asked about his and Drake’s working relationship, saying, “It’s a story… it’s deep as hell, though.”

Considering that Drake and Yachty’s “Another Late Night” was one of the songs that caught the most attention from For All The Dogs — including from the subject of one of Yachty’s lyrics, Billie Eilish — that could be something to look forward to whenever Drake is done with his hiatus.

Drake often alludes to liquor and spirit brands in his music. On his 2021 single “Girls Want Girls,” he parties in the club with Casamigos. He proudly carries Hennesy in his hand on his 2016 single, “One Dance.” But one particular beverage stands out as the rapper’s favorite.

In a recent interview shared to TikTok, Drake revealed that his favorite drink is Onda, a seltzer with a tequila base.

Drake is often seen in clubs and at parties with the drink in hand. While the drink comes in a can, Drake often pours it over ice, into a spherical glass.

“Everybody always sees me with this drink and they ask me what it is and they ask me for one,” said Drake in the TikTok clip. “It’s an Onda; a tequila spritz-esque cocktail, passion fruit flavor by the way.”

Onda Tequila Seltzer was founded in July of 2020 by Noah Gray, the Chief Executive Officer; Max Dworin, Chief Operating Officer; Kelli Adams, Chief Creative Officer; and Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell, Chief Brand Officer.

In the clip, Drake shouts out the fellow Canadian, and reiterates his love for the drink.

“Shout out to my brother Matt, shout out to Shay — of course, Shay Mitchell — who came up with this product,” said Drake. “And now I drink it every day. I’m probably on my millionth glass.”
