Kai Cenat Premieres New Drake And Lil Yachty Song During Live Stream

Kai Cenat has skin in the hip-hop game. At least, he’s notable enough to warrant a mention. Drake referenced the Twitch streamer by name on his Kendrick Lamar diss, “Push Ups.” He also showed love to Cenat during a 2023 show. “Make some noise for my brother Kai Cenat one time in here, you know,” the rapper told the Atlanta crowd. The two appear to be on good terms, but fans were still totally caught off guard on July 23, when Cenat played a previously unreleased collab between Drake and Lil Yachty.

The song doesn’t have an official title, but Kai Cenat lets the entire thing play while he reacts in real time. The Twitch streamer counts down from ten before premiering the song, which he seemingly had never heard before. The beat and smooth cadence of the opening verse is classic Drake, or at least, the Drake that fans have gotten in the 2020s. His flow is reminiscent of numerous tracks on Her Loss (2022) and For All the Dogs (2023). Mileage may vary. That being said, Kai Cenat loves it. He struts around the room while Drizzy makes reference to an unfaithful woman.

Drake And Lil Yachty Skate Over A Moody Instrumental

The rapper also drops the line “Cleopatra working at the Pyramid tonight.” This seems like a direct nod to Frank Ocean’s 2012 single “Pyramids.” There’s a brief instrumental break in between Drake and Yachty’s verse, and Kai Cenat grows impatient. “Where you at, Boat,” he asks. The rapper then hops on the track with his trademark vocal warble. Yachty doesn’t flow as smoothly as Drake, but his bizarre inflections are more in line with what his fans like. Overall, the untitled song is pleasantly catchy. Not a smash, but the kind of deep cut that could anchor the back end of an album.

The timing of the song’s premiere makes sense, given Drake’s recent remarks. The rapper recently told DJ Akademiks that he plans to get back to making hits. “This is him to me,” Ak told his viewers. “He says, ‘Yo Ak, I’m back to giving everybody who loves me what they love from me.’” There’s no word on when fans will get a CDQ version of this Yachty collab. In the meantime, though, Drake will appear on the new Gordo album Diamante, which is out July 27. Maybe the rapper has a 2024 comeback in him after all.

DJ Retracts Claim That Drake Banned Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” In Texas

Drake’s influence is far and wide. He’s been one of the biggest artists in the world for half a decade. He has a particularly noteworthy influence in Texas, through his connections with J Prince. When it was rumored that Drake and J Prince had banned Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” in Texas clubs, it wasn’t entirely out of the question. The 6 God is known for being petty behind closed doors. J Prince, on the other hand, claims to have been involved with the Pusha T battle back in 2018. His input mad sense too. It turns out, though, that the rumor was untrue.

Ari the DJ was the woman who started the Texas rumor in the first place. She claimed she’d gotten in trouble multiple times for spinning “Not Like Us” via Twitter, which was quickly picked up by various outlets. Ari decided to set the record straight, however, on Instagram. She posted a screenshot of her original tweet, along with a headline detailing the alleged ban. According to Ari the DJ, things got lost in translation. “Headlines can be misleading,” she wrote on her IG Story. “Drake nor J Prince never told me to not play the song.” Ari the DJ then clarified that the orders to avoid “Not Like Us” came from people who respected Drake.

Drake Did Not Tell Club Promoters To Ban The Song

“Promoters and people that respect those guys told me not to and it was understood,” she explained. “That’s it, that’s all.” This isn’t the first time Drake has been accused of making life difficult for Kendrick Lamar and his TDE cohorts. ScHoolboy Q accused the rapper of getting his recent concert in Toronto shut down due to the ongoing beef. “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH” Q tweeted. Partynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium. If we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…”

There’s no evidence to link Drake to the cancelation of ScHoolboy Q’s concert. That being said, the venue for the show did have affiliates with the 6 God, as well as Live Nation. Drake has been quiet on record when it comes to the Kendrick Lamar beef, but rumors have continued to swirl that he has more music coming. The rapper has fueled these rumors on social media. On July 22, Drake posted a photo wearing a Tupac shirt reading: “Only God Can Judge Me.” Sounds like the war is still going on to us…

Elliott Wilson Is Avoiding Drake And Toronto After Rick Ross Incident

Elliott Wilson used to have a solid relationship with Drake. He interview the rapper for his CRWN series in 2013, and again for Rap Radar in 2019. The latter is the most comprehensive interview the 6 God has had to date, in fact. Unfortunately, things have soured between the journalist and the hitmaker. Wilson’s very public critiques of Drake during the Kendrick Lamar battle have landed him on Drake’s no-fly list. In other words, Wilson is not welcome in Drake’s hometown of Toronto anytime soon. The journalist talked about this awkward situation during a recent appearance on BagFuel.

Elliott Wilson believes the Toronto ban is fair. “This is his country,” the journalist posited. “It should be respected, right.” He also reflected on the monopoly that Drake has with regards to Canadian hip-hop. It’s something Wilson noticed as soon as the rapper became successful. “I remember the first OVO fest,” the journalist recalled. “When he brought [JAY-Z] and Eminem out, it’s like you gotta go to his country, with your passport and sh*t.” Wilson knew that the experience signified a major change in hip-hop, and acted accordingly. “This is big,” he admitted. “So yes, if I’m not cool with him… I don’t feel comfortable going to Toronto.”

Elliott Wilson Still Has Respect For Drake As An Artist

Elliott Wilson clarified that he didn’t fear for his safety, but wanted to respect Drake’s territory. He went on to admit that obsessive fans can sometimes be more dangerous than the artists and their entourages. “It could be fans nowadays,” he posited. “They thirsty and crazy. This Trumpian type era of n**gas. I don’t want that cornball sh*t.” This is not the first time Elliott Wilson has discussed his falling out with Drizzy. He revealed that the rapper unfollowed him on social media after he criticized the song “The Heart Part 6.”

Elliott Wilson also talked about his so-called “Toronto ban” during an appearance on the Bigger Picture podcast. He admitted that he was disappointed to see his relationship with the Toronto rapper go by the wayside. “I got my emotions about it,” he admitted. “But look it’s hard… That’s my guy, I respect him. You develop these connections with them, and then you have to manage these relationships and it’s ups and downs with that.” Hopefully the two men will be able to squash their differences down the line.

Drake’s Long-Anticipated Gordo Collab Finally Has A Release Date

Drake and Gordo have a strong track record together. The rapper and producer have worked together on “Sticky,” “Massive” and “Rich Baby Daddy” among several others. Gordo was a big influence on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind, an album that’s slowly developing a cult fandom. He’s also been touting another Drake collab for months. The producer posted a photo alongside the 6 God back in May. He seemingly cried wolf again when he posted an IG Story with the text “July 12.” Thankfully, a proper release date for their collab has finally dropped. And it’s soon.

Gordo will release his debut solo album, Diamante, on July 26. The album boasts a star-studded tracklist, with features from the likes of Feid and T-Pain but Drake is the real standout. The Toronto rapper will not only feature on the song “Sideways,” but reportedly served as a consultant on the album overall. Gordo discussed this unique partnership during a recent profile with Rolling Stone. If Drake says, ‘This is it, and this is what you should listen to, this is what I listen to, and this is an incredible piece of work,” he stated. “He rides for me that heavy and he’s letting the world know that, then that says a lot.”

Drake Was A Creative Consultant On Gordo’s Album

Gordo promises that Diamante will be a wide-ranging album in terms of sound. He will incorporate all of the musical genres he listens to, despite primarily being known for his hip-hop production. “It’s so hard when you’re talking to a guy like me,” he told the outlet. “Because I’m trying to keep up with rap, with dance music, house, with techno, with Mexican corridos. Everyone here is doing their job.” While the vision for the album is undoubtedly his, Gordo again praised Drake for working with him, and providing his expertise on songs in which he wasn’t even involved.

Obviously, Drake has been busy with other things in 2024. The Kendrick Lamar battle being the most obvious of these distractions. Gordo also mentioned the battle, and how little it ultimately means for the rapper’s musical legacy. “F*ck all the bullsh*t to the side with everything that’s happening right now,” the producer asserted. “Drake is Drake, right.” The Gordo and Drake collab will be track two on Diamante. The last track is being kept a secret, with many fans hoping that the 6 God pops up a second time.

Joe Budden Hilariously Dubs Drake His Son After Angering A Drizzy Stan

It seems like Twitter Spaces is the new platform for rappers and the hip-hop community to really get some conversations going. Over the last 72 hours or so, Lupe Fiasco and Joe Budden have been trending on the social media platform for their headline-rich debates with fans. The latter of the two was the latest to host one and the Chicago native decided to join the chat room. In their dialogue, Lupe cleared up some comments he made on his Spaces event this past weekend about his alleged beef with Kendrick Lamar. That subsequently led Joe Budden to address the narrative surrounding him that he dislikes Drake as well.

Another thing that both of their Twitter Spaces share is that at least one fan became upset with the host. As you can hear below, this passionate Drake Stan was not having any of Joe’s slander. He likened the rapper turned podcaster hopping on Spaces to Lamar’s “I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk” bar on “euphoria”. The fan continued to grow more enraged, telling Joe to “eat a d**” and even referencing the time he was accused of masturbating dogs a few years ago.

This Drake Fan Goes Toe-To-Toe With Joe Budden

However, Budden remained fairly calm during this heated exchange. You can tell that he was getting under this guy’s skin, so he dug a little deeper. He started by saying that instead of hating him, the fan actually loves him. Then, to really send this dude over the edge, Budden hilariously mocks the Drizzy supporter by saying the rapper is his son and that “you are my grandson”. The multi-media star continues to show why he is one of the biggest voices in the hip-hop world.

What are your thoughts on Joe Budden deeming Drake his son while taunting a fan on Twitter Spaces? Do you foresee Drizzy responding to this in any sort of way, why or why not? What are your thoughts on these recent Twitter Spaces from Joe and Lupe Fiasco? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Joe Budden and Drake. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Lupe Fiasco Claims He Hasn’t Even Heard Either Of Drake Or Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Tracks

Despite fans trying to pull him into the feud, Lupe Fiasco claims he hasn’t even heard either of Drake or Kendrick Lamar’s diss tracks. While many hip-hop fans were mesmerized by tracks like “Family Matters“, “Not Like Us“, “Meet The Grahams” and “6:16 In LA,” Lupe told fans during a chat on Twitter Spaces (never calling it “X”) that he tuned out after Rick Ross dropped “Champagne Moments.” You can listen to the Space below.

Lupe also dismissed long-running speculation that he dislikes Kendrick Lamar. “I genuinely don’t have any issues, I really don’t,” he said. “I do not have a problem. No matter what was said in the past, what you think happened, what happened, what didn’t happen. I personally and professionally do not have a problem with my brother in arms, Kendrick Lamar.”

Perhaps Lupe was just too busy finalizing preparations for his new album, Samurai, and his upcoming Samurai tour, which starts in October. Or maybe he just tired of the conflict, as he pointed out during a separate Spaces chat that it undermined hip-hop as a whole to fight about who deserves to be “in” or “out.” “I don’t think we should be choosing who comes in and out and making decisions on that sh*t anyway… I think it is going to do more harm than good,” he said. “I think you are going to miss out on a lot of beautiful things because of it. I think you are going to ostracize people and like I said, there are going to be a group of motherf*ckers that you think you actually control and sh*t and its dudes doing 50 city tours who you ain’t never heard of. ‘Cause they like, ‘F*ck that dude. I’m finna do this because I love it.’ But now, they are the ‘out group,’ but they are selling more records than you and selling more tour dates than you. But you are the spokesperson for hip-hop? That don’t make no sense.”

The Drake And Kendrick Lamar Beef Has Spilled Into Video Games As There’s A New ‘Family Matters’ Game You Can Play Right Now

Earlier this month, some Kendrick Lamar fans inserted themselves into the Drake beef by releasing an online video game based on the “Not Like Us” diss track. The game, inspired by the piñata scene from the song’s video, is basically a take on whack-a-mole but with OVO owls.

Now, a Drake fan has fired back with Family Matters: The Game, which can be played in your browser, here.

Once you start the game, on-screen text reads, “Kendrick just opened his mouth, someone go feed him a Grammy right now. Tap the Grammy to feed Kenny. Don’t miss or he’ll be sad.” From there, the gameplay is simple: A moving arrow determines where the Grammy will be thrown when you click/tap, but a pixel art rendering of Lamar is also moving side-to-side. If you miss, Lamar grimaces and makes a sad sound as a tear runs down his face.

The theme of the game is a reference to the “Family Matters” lyric, “Kendrick just opened his mouth, someone go hand him a Grammy right now.”

The beef has not only reached the realm of video games, but now it’s Jeopardy!-famous, too: It was just featured as a clue on the game show, in a category focused on famous rap feuds.

Drake Poses In Tupac Shirt Amidst Ongoing Kendrick Lamar Feud

Drake loves giving mixed messages. The rapper has “officially” put the Kendrick Lamar battle behind him. Per DJ Akademiks, Drake is getting back to giving fans who love him “what they love.” That being said, he hasn’t eased up on the trolling. Drizzy may no longer be in the diss record mode, but he hasn’t let up when it comes to sending subliminals K. Dot’s way. The latest is arguably his most obvious yet. Drake decided to post a photo of him wearing a Tupac shirt with the text “Only God Can Judge Me.”

Anybody with a cursory knowledge of the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle know the relevance that the late Tupac Shakur has for both men. Drake used Tupac’s voice to diss Lamar on the AI-assisted “Taylor Made Freestyle.” He also flaunted the fact that he bought Tupac’s personalized ring for $1 million. Dot, meanwhile, considers Tupac to be his favorite artist. He famously conversed with the “ghost” of ‘Pac on To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), and has tributed him multiple times over the years. He took Drake’s slander of the rapper to heart, and incorporated it into his number one hit “Not Like Us.” “You think the Bay ‘gon let you disrespect ‘Pac, n**ga,” he raps. “I think that Oakland show gon’ be your last stop, n**ga.”

Drake Continues To Troll Kendrick Lamar On Instagram

Kendrick Lamar worked in yet another dig at Drake during his “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth. He changed the lyrics to “Euphoria” to send a message directly to the 6 God: return Tupac’s ring and the Compton king will afford him some respect. Naturally, Drake rejected the offer. Instead, he’s decided to double down on the Lamar trolling with his new shirt. “Only God Can Judge Me” is a song from Tupac’s penultimate album, All Eyez on Me, and the kind of grandiose sentiment that the 6 God would apply to his own legacy.

Drake has, admittedly, voiced his adoration for Tupac in the past. During a 2011 interview with The Boombox, the rapper claimed that he aspired to be more like ‘Pac in his own life. “He was somebody who was a free spirit and he did not care,” he opined. “He just did what he felt. I wish I could have a little more ‘Pac to my persona. I’m working on it.” Things have obviously taken a different turn for the 6 God in the intervening years.

50 Cent Has Kendrick Lamar Fans Saying He’s ‘Not Like Us’ After He Teased A Collaboration With Drake

While a huge part of the rap world has seemingly sided with Kendrick Lamar in his feud with Drake, there’s one cultural titan who isn’t letting their conflict get in the way of potentially collaborating with the Canadian hitmaker. 50, whose involvement in the vendetta has to date been limited to teasing his longtime rival Rick Ross for supposedly being attacked by Drake fans in Canada, shared a photo of himself hanging out with Drake at a club with a caption that suggested that they might be working together in the near future.

“Brain 🧠 storming last night me and @champagnepapi gonna get the 🎥 rolling,” he wrote. “Biggest ting on your TV.”

Of course, that prompted a bit of a backlash in 50’s comments section, with fans quoting lines from Kendrick’s infamous diss track “Not Like Us” and comparing the Toronto rapper to 50’s own onetime (possibly forever) enemy, Ja Rule. “Nah 50 he ain’t it,” wrote one fan. “That’s Kendrick’s Ja Rule.” Meanwhile, others cited 50’s connection to Dr. Dre, who co-signed Kendrick way back in the day and appeared at K. Dot’s Ken & Friend concerts to introduce “Not Like Us” — proving once again, that a lot of rap fans take this stuff WAY too seriously.

With 50 looking to expand his Power universe, perhaps the project they “brainstormed” on has something to do with Drake’s history as an actor and a producer — Top Boy crossover incoming? Now, that’s something worth getting excited about.

50 Cent Teases Drake Collab, Is Accused Of Betraying Kendrick Lamar

Fans are accusing 50 Cent of betraying Kendrick Lamar after meeting up with Drake at a party in Toronto over the weekend and teasing a collaboration. 50 posted a picture of the two together on Instagram on Sunday afternoon. “Brain [brain emoji] storming last night me and @champagnepapi gonna get the [camera emoji] rolling biggest ting on your TV GLG,” the caption reads. This suggests that 50 and Drake’s collaboration is related to television, not music. 50’s an accomplished TV producer, with his Power franchise celebrating ten years on the air last month. Drake is an executive producer on Netflix’s Top Boy revival and Euphoria. The latter is one of the most popular shows on HBO.

50 Cent meeting with Drake angered fans of Lamar. Some of them pointed out 50’s own history of attacking those who sided with his rivals. “You can’t do Ja Rule like that and go hang with the modern day Ja Rule,” said one user. Another user mentioned Drake’s own history as an actor, saying that they “don’t want to see [Drake] in Power” after this.

50 Cent Accused Of Betraying Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent have shared history. The two of them collaborated on the 2013 track “We Up.” Lamar also made a cameo in the fifth season of Power as Laces, a homeless drug addict who gets shot in the head by Kanan Stark, portrayed by 50 himself. Of course, the two of them have connections to Dr. Dre and Eminem. Both signed to Aftermath Entertainment at different points in the last two decades and found massive success. The two have since departed to forge their own paths. 50 went into TV and Lamar founded the pgLang production company.

Fans have also pointed out that 50 Cent and Drake’s meetup was likely in part because of a shared enemy: Rick Ross. Ross and 50 have had beef since the 2000s. Drake and Ross’s relationship deteriorated earlier this year, with the two of them taking petty shots at each other during the much bigger battle between the former and Kendrick Lamar. Drake claimed credit for Ross’s crossover success. Ross referred to Drake as “BBL Drizzy,” alleging that Drake uses Ozempic and paid for ab sculpting surgery. Ross recently got into a fight for playing “Not Like Us” in Vancouver. Drake’s and 50’s meetup is a hot topic, and it will be interesting to see what comes of it.
