Drake Gave A Heartfelt Speech Explaining Why LeBron James Is His ‘Brother’ During An LA Concert

Drake and 21 Savage continued their It’s All A Blur Tour in Los Angeles over the weekend — and keeping with the trend of bringing surprise guests. While Kendall Jenner and SZA have already popped up at past LA dates, the recent celebs had the crowd going wild.

None other than LeBron James and his son Bronny (who is doing “great” after his recent health scare) joined the rappers on stage. On the way through the crowd to get there, Drake also signed a fan’s copy of his poetry book. The Toronto performer was also paying tribute by wearing the Lakers colors.

Then, when Drake was on stage, he gave a heartfelt speech to LeBron. “The gentleman that walked me to stage tonight is my brother,” he said. “In 2009, when nobody believed in anything I had going on, that same guy showed up to a release party for a mixtape that was called So Far Gone.”

“He came all the way to Toronto, Canada to support me, when I was trying to figure out how I can live my dreams,” Drake added.

Drake and LeBron have continued to stay close for a while. Back in 2018, he appeared on an episode of LeBron’s HBO series, The Shop, where he opened up about his son, Adonis, and the two dads bonded over raising their kids.

A few years later in 2020, Drake went with LeBron to watch Bronny play at his high school basketball game. “My young demons doing numbers,” Drake posted when Bronny’s team won, according to HotNewHipHop.

This makes the fact that LeBron brought his son to Drake’s show all the more special.

Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ Album Release Date Was Revealed Thanks To Amazon Music

Last night (August 21), Drake came through with the adorable cover art for his new album, For All The Dogs, which features an illustration (of a dog, it would seem) by his son Adonis. He hasn’t yet revealed the official release date, but now it appears Amazon Music has let the cat (or dog?) out of the bag.

The streaming platform wrote in a tweet today, “drizzy’s son has a future as a cover artist. new @drake august 25th!!”

The release date is in accordance with the timeline Drake established at a July 26 concert, when he told the audience, “Make new friends. If you drink, drink some liquor. If you smoke, smoke some weed. And if you like somebody, like my dad says, keep f*cking. I will be back soon. I have an album dropping for you in, like, two weeks or some sh*t. But until then, just know, you’re always with me and I’m always thinking of you. Everything I do is for you. Every time I step in that booth, I hope I make you proud.”

In other It’s All A Blur Tour news, it was reported recently that so far, the tour is pulling in about $4.5 million in revenue per show.

Drake has revealed the cover art for his album FOR ALL OF THE DOGS. It is drawn by his son Adonis.

Signs are now pointing to an Aug. 25 release date for the album.

Drake has made a trending moment out of his walkouts to the stage, evoking the same style as boxers getting to the ring for the big fight. For his opening night at the building formerly known as Staples Center, Drake brought out its current King, LeBron James, and maybe the future one in Bronny.

Fans from Los Angeles capture Drake strolling to the stage with Bronny on his right, Chubbs on his left, and King James behind him, making for an impressive visual. Once they reached the bottom, Drake and LeBron James embraced before the OVO superstar hit the stage to perform “Look What You’ve Done.”

Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ Album Cover Was Custom Designed By One Of The Rapper’s Favorite Artists

The It’s All A Blur Tour has not only been a significant payday thus far for Drake, but it has been a platform for him to share instant music updates with fans. On July 20, Drake revealed that his next album, For All The Dogs, would soon hit streaming platforms. Although he hasn’t revealed the official release date, Drake has hinted that it could feature collaborations with Bad Bunny and J. Cole.

On Monday, August 21, Drake took to Instagram to unveil the album’s cover, designed by one of his favorite artists, his 5-year-old son Adonis Graham. The young kid took some creative liberties with the album’s title. Instead of an adorable household canine, the image errs more on the side of a haunting werewolf, making the forthcoming project all the more intriguing.

Before Drake’s poetry book was released in June, he suggested that the literary work and his forthcoming album were linked, writing, “I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl; don’t tempt me.” Below the message was the phrase, “For all the dogs.” Could this be the return of Drake’s certified lover boy era?

No further information is known about For All The Dogs at this time.

Drake Consoled A Fan At His ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’ By Condemning His Cheating Girlfriend

“Seen you from the stage in the 100s / Must be eagle eyes,” Drake rapped in his and Central Cee’s On The Radar freestyle, and it wasn’t an empty line. Drake sees everything while on stage for his It’s All A Blur Tour, from a human-sized bra and sleeping, Yeezy-wearing attendee to a handwritten sign.

“This man been holding this sign up all night. I gotta read it,” Drake said in a clip circulated by Our Generation Music over the weekend, presumably from one of his It’s All A Blur Tour stops in San Francisco, California. “This man got a sign that says, ‘My girlfriend cheated on me; she was supposed to be here with me tonight.’”

Drake leaned over and asked the sign-holder for his girlfriend’s — or, ex-girlfriend’s? — name. After a back-and-forth, Drake was confused as to whether her name is Scarlett or Starlet, “like the strip clubs.” The man wrote her name down to confirm it is, indeed, Scarlett. Once that was cleared up, Drake instructed the crowd to shout “Sorry, Scarlett!” on the count of three, and then he added, “Sorry, Scarlett. You can’t be cheating on my dawg like that.”

The It’s All A Blur Tour is headed to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Monday (August 21) and Tuesday (August 22). See all of the remaining dates here.

Drake’s ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’ Reported Earnings Are Just As Massive As The Bras He Receives Onstage

When he’s not dodging random items tossed at him on stage, Drake is being buried with massive bras at each stop of the It’s All A Blur Tour. Despite the tour’s rough start, including accusations by fans that Ticketmaster price gouged tickets and reported logistical issues that caused the Memphis date to be canceled, it’s one of the most sought-after tickets for a rap performance.

According to Touring Data, of the nine shows reported, the tour has brought in $41,195,428 in revenue — or, on average, $4,577,270 per show. The tour has 55 concert dates across North America. Ticket prices range, but the outlet shared that the medium cost is just above $284.

After the tour’s Brooklyn, New York, stops between July 17 and 21, Touring Data revealed Drake broke a grossing record. “Drake earns the highest grossing boxscore report by a rapper in history, with $18.02 million from 64,747 tickets sold at Barclays Center in New York as part of the ‘It’s All a Blur Tour’ (4 shows),” wrote the company on social media.

Although Drake has a long way to catch up with Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour or Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, Drake is undoubtedly leading the way for rap acts—the perfect way to commemorate the genre’s 50th anniversary.

“For All The Dogs” Release Date: Drake’s New Album Reportedly Dropping This Week

Ever since Drake first announced his For All The Dogs LP along with his new poetry book earlier this summer, we’ve been seriously curious to see what the Canadian has up his sleeve. Fans are already speculating that his frequent collaborator Travis Scott will be joining him on the tracklist, and the 36-year-old suggested that we could hear him returning to the sounds of “old Drake,” as hip-hop heads have been begging him for some time now.

The “Way 2 Sexy” hitmaker hasn’t confirmed anything quite yet, but on Sunday (August 20) afternoon, @ThePopTingz on Twitter reported that we could be hearing new heat from Champagne Papi as soon as this week. “Drake’s new album, ‘For All The Dogs,’ will reportedly be released next Friday, August 25th,” they wrote. If true, this could mean that Drake plans to surprise us with a single over the next few days to generate hype for his work.

For All The Dogs May Finally Be Coming This Weekend

At this point, we also know that Nicki Minaj will reunite with Drake on For All The Dogs. This is the collaboration that the internet is arguably most looking forward to hearing. In the past, we’ve heard them make magic together on tracks like “Moment 4 Life” and “Make Me Proud,” as well as “Only” and “Truffle Butter” with Lil Wayne. The father of one has been building the buzz by wearing canine-themed attire during his travels across the country this summer, and we’re willing to bet that we’ll see more of those before his album arrives in the near future.

The timing for Drake’s For All The Dogs album feels undeniably odd considering he’s currently in the midst of touring his past three albums alongside 21 Sav. Regardless, we’re sure he’ll perfectly incorporate his new hits into his career-spanning setlist when his highly anticipated LP does arrive. Drake Performs “God’s Plan” With A Fan, Gets Massive Praise From FUBU Founder Daymond John

Whether you love Drake or love to hate him, you can’t deny that the Canadian has always been a pro at walking to the beat of his own drum. Rather than looking outside of himself for inspiration, the legendary lyricist follows his intuition, even if it leads him toward some serious fashion risks. So far this year he’s been clowned for getting a pink manicure, and more recently, wearing clips of the same colour while switching up his usual hairstyle. It’s clear that not everyone was feeling those, but the FUBU shirt Drizzy donned at the same time is earning him some major flowers from founder Daymond John.

“Drake, I mean one of the world’s top artists,” the creative gushed in a video shared by TMZ on Saturday (August 19). “Wearing a shirt – I’ve seen Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown, and now Drake,” John added. “These people are defining our culture today, and I think that to think about the fact that it’s something that my partners and I came up with 35 years ago in our basement.”

The brain behind FUBU went on to point out that “trends come and go,” but it’s interesting to see the resurgence of the ’90s sportswear brand come together with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. “It’s just an amazing thing, and if I can do it, anybody can do it,” John encouraged any other aspiring designers out there.

“Shoutout to Drake and all the amazing artists that go back in the vault and educate people on part of the culture. I love it,” his public message to the rap world ended. Elsewhere in the news, the 6ix God has been entertaining crowds all across the country on his It’s All a Blur tour, even bringing one lucky fan out on stage to perform one of Drake’s biggest hits together.
