Tha Dogg Pound Talks New Album “We All We Got” And Weighs In On Drake Vs. Kendrick Lamar

You can’t have a conversation about West Coast Hip-Hop without mentioning Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound. In fact, they serve as the pioneers who paved the way for gangsta rap, especially on this side of the country. Back in the day, if you saw Snoop Dogg, you saw Kurupt and Daz Dillinger with him. The Hip-Hop duo was first featured on Snoop’s debut solo album, Doggystyle, in the song “For All My N****z & Bitchez”… and it’s been up ever since. And with Doggystyle being released over three decades ago, fans have been wondering: will we ever see another Dogg Pound album? 

With Snoop being the marketing genius he is, he had to capitalize on the moment. The trio recently shook up the rap game by dropping their single and visual to “Smoke Up,” with a montage of celebrity cameos asking: “what’s up with Tha Dogg Pound? I heard they broke up.” Everyone including Ray J, Xzibit, Tyrese Gibson, Flavor Flav, NLE Choppa, and Druski joined in on the festivities. “Smoke Up” serves as the first single off Tha Dogg Pound’s forthcoming album titled We All We Got. The project is executive produced by Snoop Dogg, dropping on May 31st. 

HotNewHipHop had the opportunity to chat with Daz Dillinger and Kurupt at their private album listening session at Snoop’s compound in Inglewood, California. 

“Smoke Up” is going crazy. What’re you most excited for and why?

Daz Dillinger: Everybody to share their weed and smoke up. [laughs]

Kurupt: I’m excited to see what people’s reaction is to this great music that we’re finna to give to them. To get on our page, and it’s bonafide West Coast shit. 

Why We All We Got? Explain that title. 

Kurupt: Because that’s real. We all we got. 

Daz Dillinger: We all we got. Look at your family. You got your mother, father. They’re still here, right? See, we don’t have our moms. And Del Mar doesn’t have his father. Me and Snoopy still have ours, so we all we got. What else do we get? Besides us. Through our 30 semi venture year venture in this game, Delmar and Snoop — shit, since they were kids. We All We Got is self-explanatory.

What was the best memory from creating this album?

Kurupt: When I came in the studio, I didn’t know Daz was gonna be there. I talked to Daz, trying to get his mind right. I talked to Snoop, trying to get his mind right. They both was doing their family shit, so ain’t too much I can do. The next thing you know, I walked in the studio in and Delmar’s there. I walk in with Snoop and Daz is there. I’m like oh shit, you motherfuckers think y’all slick? Good job. That was the greatest thing ever.

Daz Dillinger: He’s been smiling ever since. [laughs]

Kurupt: Ever since.

What about you Daz?

Daz Dillinger: Digging in Snoop’s weed bag again. Half ounce. Sack got bigger.

Kurupt: Did you just tell on yourself?

Daz Dillinger: He don’t give a damn. He’s happy I’m back. Have it all.

Snoop executive produced the album, how smoked out were those sessions? 

Daz Dillinger: It was pretty smoke-aful.

Kurupt: Oh yeah, it was smoke-aful.

How do y’all feel about the Kendrick versus Drake beef?

Daz Dillinger: That’s Kurupt, that’s his little kid right there.

Kurupt: He’s grown, but that is my killer. 

Daz Dillinger: He’s a grown kid.

Who, Kendrick? 

Kurupt: Hell yeah.

Daz Dillinger: He said the KDot stands for Kurupt. [laughs]

Kurupt: I just found out about the situation a couple of days ago. I listened to one of Kendrick’s records that they played for me, then my nephew MarMar Oso that night played me Drake’s. I heard that one like damn, they both bussin’ though. See, ‘cause they both my friends. Except, Drake’s my favorite artist. 

Damn, for real?

Kurupt: Hell yeah, I tell everybody in every interview. They say “who ya favorite artist?” Drake, because his style man. He’s all over the place with his shit. He could give you melodies to your heart ass, he can give you this mic. He’s everywhere. And when he gives you the mic, he’s Trump tight on it. He’s got rhymes. But Kendrick is my killer, see? So it’s awkward. It’s like ah.

I don’t know how they got into it, but I hope people didn’t forget about KDot. The Kendrick thing, maybe they got it confused. Kendrick Lamar. That’s like me calling myself Ricardo Brown, but they forget about Kurupt Young Gotti. See, they forget about Kurupt. Well, I got three spectrums. Ricardo Brown, I could make that work. Then there’s Kurupt, then there’s Gotti.

Daz Dillinger: Kurupt the Kingpin. 

Kurupt: People must have forgotten about KDot or something, because why would you want to feud with this guy? This guy is a beast. This kid, he got the key to the city. From murder though. Not because he’s a great artist, he got it from the mic. War. I’m just like ah. I don’t know enough to really give up an opinion.

What about you Daz?

Daz Dillinger: I love it all, ain’t nobody got killed.

Are things going too far?

Daz Dillinger: Ummm, if they never see each other. They can keep it on wax. LL Cool J and Ice T did.

Who do you believe is winning?

Daz Dillinger: KDot. Because every n*gga in the hood banging and dancing. Drake’s shit in the club, but Kendrick’s shit in the street. A lot of n*ggas in the streets can’t get to the club, so we in the street.

Do you believe it will continue?

Daz Dillinger: I thought Drake pulled out the white flag. It’s wearing him out.

Best song from the battle overall?

Daz Dillinger: Kendrick rapped about what, eight minutes or something? [laughs]

Kurupt: Was that Kendrick or was that Drake?

Daz Dillinger: Both of them, shit. They did about nine minutes a piece.

Kurupt: I’m such an old man. I’m so out of touch.

How does this beef today compared to when you guys were coming up?

Daz Dillinger: It don’t. It don’t compare. Ain’t no ambulance being called.

Kendrick Lamar Copyright Strikes Edited Version Of “Meet The Grahams”

Kendrick Lamar is standing by what he said. “Meet the Grahams” was one of the most devastating diss songs ever put out. Over a haunting Alchemist beat, Lamar laid into his opponent, Drake, and laid out all the reasons why the Toronto rapper is a phony. He addressed Drake’s son and both his parents, but the biggest revelation came in the song’s third verse. Lamar addressed an unnamed daughter, claiming the rapper has an 11-year-old that he has neglected to raise since rising to fame. It was a shocking moment, and one that’s been examined with a lot of scrutiny.

Many claim Lamar is making the daughter up. Some have even posited that Drake fed the rapper’s camp bad information in an attempt to bait him. There’s been no evidence to prove either theory. Fans have to decide what the truth is for themselves.

Some are so put off by the so-called “lie” Lamar told that they went the extra mile and took the third verse out of “Meet the Grahams.” Rap Radar‘s Elliot Wilson posted an edited version of the song on May 8. Lamar was not a fan of this change, however.

Kendrick Lamar Removed A Version With Omitted Lyrics

The rapper filed a copyright violation against the edited version of “Meet the Grahams.” It was quickly taken down from social media platforms. Punch, Lamar’s former label mate at Top Dawg Entertainment, criticized the very concept of the edited version. He reposted Wilson’s tweet with a rhetorical question for the journalist. “Why would you request for it to be edited anyway,” he asked. “Did you ask for edits on anything else?”

Kendrick Lamar’s decision to take down the edited “Meet the Grahams” was no accident. The rapper has been very hands-on with song rollout over the last few months. He removed the copyrights for his Drake disses, meaning content creators who review “Meet the Grahams” or “Not Like Us” can profit from their videos. This was an unprecedented move, and one that earned Lamar lots of praise from online creators. It’s obvious the censoring of his work is not something he’s willing to tolerate, however.

The version of “Meet the Grahams” without mention of Drake’s daughter is no more. All that remains is the rapper’s original, brutal version.

Drake Gets Second Trespasser At His Toronto Home In Two Days

Drake is the rap kingpin of Toronto. His moniker “6 God” is literally in reference to the city’s area code. Things have been dicey for Drake in the city, however, since he became embroiled in the Kendrick Lamar battle. His OVO store was vandalized with the title of Lamar’s latest diss, and a shooting led to a member of his security being shot in the chest. The misfortune continued on May 9. According to TMZ, the rapper was paid a visit by an unidentified trespasser.

The Toronto Police Department told TMZ they received a call around 3:30 pm ET on Thursday. The caller stated that a trespasser was walking around Drake’s property. The trespasser was arguing with Drake’s security by the time police arrived on the scene. It’s unclear what transpired between the trespasser and the rapper’s security. The former was, however, subsequently taken to the hospital. The information lines up with reports from earlier in the day, which stated that an ambulance was spotted near the rapper’s mansion. The trespasser has not been identified.

It’s the second time in two days this bizarre interaction has taken place. On May 8, a different trespasser approached the front gate of Drake’s estate. Police subsequently detained the man. The rapper has not issued a statement regarding either incident. He has, however, talked about the issue of gun violence as it pertains to Toronto.

Drake appeared in the 2019 documentary Remember Me, Toronto to assert that he was firmly against it. He also spoke on how his fame makes him a target, and the difficulty he has balancing that with a desire to give back to the community.

“It’s a daunting path to try and be the biggest and baddest from your ends,” he explained. “It’s just way more impactful if you put all that energy into a grind that people remember you and say, ‘I remember that guy came around and gave us all a chance.’ Those are the people who get the glory story.” Hopefully the trend of trespassers at the rapper’s home doesn’t continue.

Kendrick Lamar Continues To Out-Stream Drake With “Not Like Us” Diss Track

Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s lyrical feud continues to have a chokehold on hip-hop fans everywhere, and it looks like K-Dot is coming out on top, at least in terms of streams. According to a new Tweet by Kurrco, the Compton-born performer’s diss track “Not Like Us” got three times the amount of streams on Spotify than Drake’s “Family Matters” yesterday. It earned a whopping 12.2M, while Drizzy’s garnered 4.2M.

“Not Like Us” is what many would consider the most hard-hitting song of the entire beef. On it, Kendrick accuses Drake of being a “pedophile” and more. Kendrick’s other disses, including “Euphoria,” “Like That,” and his Future and Metro Boomin collab “Like That,” were also streamed more than any of Drake’s yesterday.

Kendrick Lamar & Drake Beef Results In Massive Streaming Numbers

While this is certainly unfortunate for Drake’s camp, it doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise. Ultimately, many have decided that Kendrick Lamar washed Drake, though it’s not exactly clear if the battle is over. Yesterday, DJ Akademiks hopped online to reveal that he’s “waiting on a few records,” which led fans to speculate that new diss tracks are on the way. Whether or not anything could outshine what’s already been released, however, remains to be seen. As for where Drake’s at with all of this, he recently shared a cryptic post on his Instagram Story, highlighting a scene from the series “A Man In Full.”

In the scene, the main character lies dead on the ground, delivering a dramatic posthumous monologue. “I don’t mean this as a criticism,” he begins. “Maybe I do. But when you die, will people notice? When I go, there are gonna a lot of memories of me by a lot of people, many who hate me. Even so, a person needs to live with vigor. DJ Vlad’s Biggest Controversies

DJ Vlad is better known as the founder of VladTV. To many, he has established himself as a prominent figure in Hip Hop media. However, this sentiment isn’t unanimously shared. After all, DJ Vlad has had his fair share of controversial moments, led by his interviews, which many have found to be exploitative in nature.  Most recently, he’s been under intense fire for trying to get a Black Professor fired from Princeton, which many have attributed to white fragility. But a couple more controversies have surrounded DJ Vlad over the years. 

His Interview Style

One of the primary criticisms directed at DJ Vlad revolves around his interview techniques. Numerous Hip Hop artists have publicly criticized DJ Vlad for his interview style, particularly his choice of questions. Some feel he crosses boundaries and exploits sensitive topics for clicks and views. Many of his questions are provocative, taking aim at crime, violence, and legal issues among predominantly Black artists. This approach has led to accusations that he sensationalizes serious issues for entertainment value.

Further, DJ Vlad employs a distinctive style of interview that many view as interrogative. For example, the New Jersey rapper Tsu Surf called him out on this, saying, “Realistically, there is such a thing as bait. You’re a baiter. Of course, you wouldn’t say, ‘I got anybody indicted,’ but you fish. You feel me? And some of my peers, some of the people that sat in this seat aren’t smart or witty enough to know when there is bait being swung their way, or when they are supposed to dip the bait.”

Suspected Involvement With Law Enforcement

Another contentious aspect of DJ Vlad’s career is suspicion about his cooperation with law enforcement. Several interviewees have raised concerns about statements made during interviews being used against them in legal proceedings. And if we’re being honest, his interview style doesn’t help his case. During discussions, guests sit in front of the camera. At the same time, Vlad, reportedly at another location, asks probing questions that can come across as highly incriminating and potentially suggestive of a setup.

This has given the platform a reputation for having a curse—the “Vlad Curse.” People have alleged that whoever Vlad interviews gets arrested. Some examples of artists include Keefe D, who was arrested for the murder of Tupac Shakur, and Ralo, who was apprehended and accused of running a cross-country drug operation. Speaking to RevoltTV about the curse, Vlad said he didn’t believe it to be true. “I mean, apart from the Keffe D situation, I’ve never heard of that actually happening,” he said. “Just to keep it 100. Like, I’ve never heard of our stuff actually being used, an interview being used against someone in a case that they actually talked about. In my rationale, for the Keefe D situation, he wrote a f*cking book.” 

Weaponizing Whiteness

Most recently, DJ Vlad shared his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar’s new Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” via X. He commented on the mix, suggesting potential improvements. In response, Morgan Jerkins, an author, editor, Princeton University professor, and famed producer Darkchild’s niece, advised against involvement in the viral conversation. She wrote: “You are WHITE. This is a BLACK FOLK AFFAIR.”

Vlad responded swiftly and firmly to the remark. He even went as far as tagging Princeton directly in his reply, which many have remarked was in extremely poor taste: “Wait, so a professor at @Princeton is telling me that a white person shouldn’t be allowed to voice their opinion about Hip Hop? Is that how you interact with your students?”

The exchange continued as Vlad threatened to contact Princeton, again tagging the university. He then insinuated that she might lose her job at Princeton if he followed this action. Although Vlad tried to backtrack on his tweets the next day, saying he was only defending himself, Jerkins pointed out that he had already contacted the university by tagging them. Even the author Marc Lamont Hill tried to call Vlad out for weaponizing his whiteness, but Vlad instead made scalding comments about Lamont losing his job. Altogether, this entire exchange felt like something out of a Karen playbook, as DJ Vlad allegedly weaponized his white fragility in an attempt to get a Black woman fired.  

Employing The Use Of Click Bait Headlines

VladTV is also known for giving his videos certain titles that are sure to stir up trouble. In 2021, he titled an episode of his show, “Kal Dawson was in the car when 50 Cent Got Shot 9 Times, Kal Got Shot Also.” According to The Source, the video was focused on the harrowing incident where 50 Cent was shot multiple times. 50 Cent subsequently posted a screenshot of the video with the word “FRAUDULENT” put over the video. He also asked for the video to be taken down. “I want this video taken down now!” he said. 

Accusations Of Being A Culture Vulture

DJ Vlad’s real name is Vladislav Lyubovny, and he is a white Ukrainian man. Therefore, his work in primarily Black culture has worked both for him and against him. As a result, Vlad has also been tagged as a “culture vulture.” Folks have accused him of preying on Black culture. Moreover, he mostly focuses on the negative side of Black artistry and communities. 

Marvin Shadi Powers, the uncle of the late rapper Bankroll Fresh, was one of the first to label DJ Vlad a “culture vulture.” VladTV debuted an interview with No Plug, the individual accused of Bankroll’s murder, during which No Plug claimed the shooting was an act of self-defense. Soon after, Powers sent a passionate letter to Vlad, calling him out on his bias. 

“You disrespectful culture vulture,” he began. “When I asked you to interview Bankroll PJ and how he was continuing the legacy, you had a subordinate call me to tell me you’re passing on PJ. He had just released a new single out, plus he’s starring in a new FX TV show (Atlanta) this fall with Childish Gambino, but no that was too positive, huh? Not enough Black-on-Black crime?”

Drake Toronto Mansion Shooting: What We Know So Far

Drake’s Toronto home, nicknamed “The Embassy” became the subject of intense media coverage following its unveiling on Architectural Digest in 2020. The $100 million mansion is now in the news for something other than its grandeur. Drake now joins the long list of music stars whose homes have become the target of shootings. On Tuesday, the 7th of April, the Toronto police released reports of a shooting that occurred. As of this moment, there has been only one major casualty, which is a seriously injured security personnel who was outside the mansion at the time of the incident. There has since been growing speculation that perhaps this incident is connected to Drake and Kendrick’s ongoing beef, though authorities haven’t confirmed whether that’s the case. Here are all the facts we know so far about the attack on “The Embassy.”

The Shooting

At about 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8th, a shooting occurred outside Drake’s massive 50,000 square feet mansion in Toronto. The victim was a security guard employed at the property, who was standing outside the gates when the incident took place. According to police, the guard was shot and sustained serious injuries around his chest region in what has been speculated to be a drive-by shooting (police didn’t confirm whether that’s the case). However, authorities have stated that he is presently receiving care.

Investigation And Speculation

The Toronto Police are actively investigating the shooting incident at Drake’s home. However, they have not released any descriptions of potential suspects. Furthermore, information about the getaway vehicle involved has also not been disclosed at the moment. Police said that they did collect “some video evidence which captures the incident,” though that has yet to surface. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, May 8, the police were called back to the home, where an intruder was finally apprehended, according to Toronto’s City News. 

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack, which remains unknown at this stage. The police have not confirmed whether Drake was present at his mansion during the shooting. However, pictures show that there were cars packed in the home. Lead inspector Paul Krawczyk has informed the public that the suspect(s) made their escape on wheels. 

This incident has raised eyebrows due to the rapper’s recent high-profile feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The two have been engaged in a heated exchange, trading diss tracks and leveling unsubstantiated allegations against each other. However, authorities have cautioned against drawing any premature conclusions about a potential connection between Drake’s rap beef and the shooting. That won’t stop the rumor from circulating like wildfire though. As celebrity culture and “stans” are often the cause of these stalker-like attacks, it’s not surprising that this is a theory that the public has entertained.

Security Measures And Neighborhood Impact 

Drake’s $100 million mansion is known for its grandeur and robust security measures, including guards, fencing, and surveillance systems. The shooting has undoubtedly caused concern among residents of the luxurious Bridle Path neighborhood. The local residents have also expressed shock and dismay over the incident. They are now voicing concerns about the potential impact on the community’s sense of safety. Drake and his team have not issued any official statements regarding the shooting. Regardless, the incident has sparked reactions from fans worldwide.

So far, Drake’s team have been cooperating with the Toronto police in the background. There has also been a call for any support in identifying the attackers. It is no shock that Toronto is slowly gaining a reputation for becoming more expensive, and thus, prone to these kinds of crimes. DJ Akademiks Hints At New Drake Song Following Days Of Silence

DJ Akademiks has been one of the main sources of inside information throughout the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud. Overall, this makes a whole lot of sense when you consider how Drake is friendly with Ak. In fact, Drizzy was the one who informed Akademiks that “Family Matters” would be dropping on Friday night. At this stage, fans are curious as to whether or not the Canadian megastar is going to release again. Akademiks has been teasing a new song, and Drake has been pretty ambiguous on his Instagram page. That said, no one knows for sure what is going down.

Well, taking to Twitter today, Akademiks had a message for the fans. It was a cryptic one at that as he simply said “Appreciate the silence. What comes after it is usually great.” Ultimately, fans have no real idea what this means. It could have a whole plethora of meanings for all we know. That said, it does appear as though Drake has something up his sleeve. “The Heart Part 6” was not it for a lot of people, and they would have loved for him to have finished the feud with something a lot stronger.

One such person is Marcellus Wiley, who used to be a co-host on the ESPN show Sportsnation. In a new video posted to Twitter, Wiley claimed that Drake was on the show in 2014 and dissed Kendrick Lamar on it. Subsequently, he allegedly did everything he could to block the interview from going out. He even allegedly threatened to not host the ESPYs.

Marcellus Wiley On Drake

Overall, Wiley doesn’t have proof that this happened and simply expects the audience to take his word for it. That said, Drake was definitely a regular on ESPN at the time. This would have been a year after the “Control” verse, which Drizzy was reportedly offended by. However, there is no concrete proof that he did this, and considering the footage was scrubbed, we will probably never see it with our own two eyes.

Drake Doubles Down On “The Heart Pt 6”: Breaking Down The Allegations

In the ongoing Hip Hop saga, “The Heart Part 6” is the latest entry in the ongoing lyrical battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The track is a response to Kendrick’s heavy-hitting “Not Like Us” and “Meet The Grahams.” Drake announced the song with the caption, “The Heart Part 6 out now. And we know you’re dropping 6 mins after so instead of posting my address you have a lot to address.”

Drake’s track is a clever inversion of Kendrick’s own “The Heart” series, a collection of songs that have been a recurring theme throughout Kendrick’s career. By naming his diss track “The Heart Part 6,” Drake not only mocks Kendrick’s series but also implies a continuation of the narrative, suggesting that he’s now taking over the story Kendrick began. In this latest installment, Drake addresses head-on the allegations thrown at him by Kendrick in his last two diss tracks, “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us.” Moreover, he backs it up with his allegations of his own. However, Drake’s latest release isn’t sitting well with fans.

Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” featured an aerial map view of Drake’s mansion, splattered with red tags to imply sex offenders inhabit the house. Unsurprisingly, the cover art for Drake’s response similarly intends to be provocative. It features a screenshot of an Instagram comment left by pgLang co-founder Dave Free, on a post about Whitney Alford’s children. Whitney Alford, who is the mother to Lamar’s two children, does not follow him on Instagram. The cover art is thus a strategic jab at Kendrick. Drake is referencing his previous accusation on “Family Matters” that Alford had been unfaithful with Free, and fathered the son who Kendrick is now raising.

The Secret Daughter And The Mole

Kendrick accused Drake of having an 11-year-old secret daughter he wouldn’t publicly claim in his previous track “Meet the Grahams.” In “The Heart Part 6,” Drake flips the script. He claims that OVO planted the story as bait to trick Kendrick. “We plotted for a week and then we fed you the information / A daughter that’s eleven years old, I bet he takes it / We thought about givin’ a fake name or a destination,” he raps. This aligns with Kendrick admitting he received the information about Drake’s alleged hidden child from someone close to Drizzy. 

The Pedophilia Allegations

Kendrick also called out Drake and the OVO crew as child molesters on multiple of his diss tracks. Specifically, on “Not Like Us,” he referred to Drake and his crew as “certified pedophiles.” Drake vehemently denies this, multiple times on “The Heart Part 6.” “I never been with no one underage but now I understand why this is the angle that you really mess with / If I was f**king young girls, I promised I’d have been arrested / I’m way too famous for this sh*t you just suggested,” Drake insists.

He also suggests that the allegations were Kendrick’s way of misdirecting the beef instead of focusing on music solely. “Speaking of anything with a child, let’s get to that now / This Epstein angle was the shit I expected / TikTok videos you collected and dissected / Instead of being on some dis-direct sh*t / You rather fu*king grab your pen and misdirect sh*t,” Drake raps. Listeners would later point out that Kendrick had referred to Weinstein on his track, and not Epstein.

On “The Heart Part 6,” Drake also brings up Lamar’s alleged domestic troubles. For example, he touches on Lamar’s relationship with his fiancee, Whitney Alford. Drake alleges she was cheating on and planning to leave Kendrick for allegedly physically abusing her. Drake questions why Whitney hasn’t publicly denied the allegations. “And why isn’t Whitney denying all of the allegations / Why is she following Dave Free and not Mr. Morale / You haven’t seen the kids in six months, the distance is wild / Dave leaving heart emojis underneath pics of the child,” he raps.

Elsewhere in the song, he continues to suggest that Dave Free is actually the father of his son, rapping, “Like if Dave really fu*ked your girl and got her pregnant, talk about breedin’ resentment.” He also ties together his response to the allegations of grooming minors, specifically Millie Bobby Brown and Kendrick’s speculated split from Alford. “I’m your baby mama’s screen saver / only fu*king with Whitney’s, not Millie Bobby Brown’s.”

Another Domestic Drama

Drake mocks Kendrick’s signature series, “The Heart,” by naming his diss track “The Heart Part 6.” This move mirrors Kendrick’s own mockery of Drake’s AM/PM series with “6:16 In LA.” However, he also took a shot at Kendrick by referencing another song from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. “My mom came over today and I was like/ ‘Mother I-, mother I-, mother I-‘ / Wait a second, that’s that one record where you say you got molested / Aw, f**k me, I just made the whole connection,” he raps. “This is trauma from your own confessions / This when your father leave you home alone with no protection, so neglected / That’s why these pedophile raps is shit you so obsessed with, it’s so excessive.”

This is a direct reference to Kendrick’s confessions from 2022’s “Mother I Sober.” Here, he tells a story of his mom forcing him to admit to a sexual molestation by his cousin that never happened. Kendrick, who is a child at the time tries to convince his mother he hadn’t been molested, but it’s futile. Kendrick explains her refusal to believe him as being a result of her own childhood trauma. Some argued Drake’s reference attempts to make Kendrick relive the experience of not being believed. It’s a twist on Lamar’s pedophile accusations against Drake.

Conclusion

The release of Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” has certainly made waves. As a result, the song garnered a wide array of reactions from fans, critics, and fellow artists alike. Metro Boomin reacted to the track with a meme of Chris Paul. This suggests that despite Drake’s efforts, he is still trailing in the battle with Kendrick.

In the outro of “The Heart Part 6,” Drake raps on the feud with Kendrick Lamar in the past tense, saying he got “some good exercise.” This retrospective view hints at the possibility that Drake may be bowing out of the diss track exchange. Whether or not this puts the beef on pause is still unknown. Regardless, the public is still patiently waiting to see if Kendrick decides to retaliate or not. The ball, it seems, is in Kendrick’s court to decide if this is the final chapter of one of Hip Hop’s biggest beefs.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are currently in the midst of one of the most shocking rap beefs we have seen in quite some time. Overall, the feud started with some light jabs. However, things have devolved past the point of reconciliation. In fact, it is pretty clear that these two will never be cool. After all, one man is accusing the other of being a pedophile, while the other is making domestic violence accusations. Needless to say, the hate for one another is very real, and there is a real possibility that more songs are released.

For the last couple of days, Drake has been dealing with some scary situations at his home. On Tuesday, a security guard was shot outside of his home. Subsequently, a trespasser was arrested on Wednesday after trying to get onto the premises. Throughout all of this, Drake has remained calm and seems to be spending time in his home theater. In a video posted to his Instagram story, Drake showcased a scene from the show “A Man In Full.” The scene depicts the main character lying dead on the floor, with a voice-over offering up a message that one could interpret as near and dear to Drake’s heart right now.

Drake Resonates With “A Man In Full”

“I don’t mean this as a criticism,” the monologue begins. “Maybe I do. But when you die, will people notice? When I go, there are gonna a lot of memories of me by a lot of people, many who hate me. Even so, a person needs to live with vigor. Otherwise, what’s the point?” Whether or not this means another diss track is coming, remains to be seen.
