Donald Trump Turns Himself Into Authorities In NYC

Donald Trump has turned himself in to authorities in the Manhattan district attorney’s office for his alleged role in a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The former president of the United States arrived at the district attorney’s office around 1:30 PM, ET, where he was met by both supporters and protesters. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and George Santos were both in attendance.

“Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL,” he posted on Truth social minutes before his arrival. “WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Can’t believe this is happening in America.” Politico reports that it is unlikely he has his mug shot taken, although he will be fingerprinted. Trump will remain in custody throughout the day until his arraignment. Afterward, he will be free to leave without posting bail.

Trump announced on Truth Social that he expected to be arrested in the near future, last month. He’s since slammed the merits of the case against him many times. “The Corrupt D.A. has no case. What he does have is a venue where it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a Fair Trial (it must be changed!), and a Trump Hating Judge, hand selected by the Soros backed D.A. (he must be changed!). Also has the DOJ working in the D.A.’s Office – Unprecedented!” he wrote in one post.

The indictment against him is still under seal so the exact charges are unknown to the public. However, NBC reports that there are about 30 counts related to document fraud. For Tuesday’s arraignment, cameras will not be allowed in the courtroom, although a number of photographers have been given permission to take pictures for a brief period.

The former president reportedly plans to give a speech tonight from Mar-a-Lago after he returns home. The speech is scheduled for 8:15 PM, ET. With the arrest, Trump has become the first former president in U.S. history to be charged with a crime.

One Of Trump’s Wacky Lawyers Actually Thinks His Indictment Will Make Him An Iconic Figure Like Tupac And Biggie

Donald Trump’s recent indictment has everyone talking. While most are elated that he’s finally getting his just desserts, some delusional Trumpers think this will only make him more appealing during election season. Some are even likening him to two rap legends.

In a clip from right-wing podcast The Benny Show, Donald Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba spoke to host Benny Johnson, saying that Trump’s indictment and impending arrest put him up there with some of hip-hop’s most revered acts.

“Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump’s Biggie Smalls, he’s better than Tupac. I’m east coast, so I love Biggie,” she said. “Donald Trump is his own brand. He is everything. This is just gonna boost him, we’ve seen it in the polls. It’s not a question, it’s a fact.”

Last Thursday (March 30), Trump was indicted for paying hush money to Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their alleged affair. He is expected to be arrested today (April 4).

All the while, several have shared images of themselves celebrating Trump’s arrest, including one group of people who flipped off Trump Tower in a photo shared to Twitter.

Several reporters have been waiting outside of the New York City criminal courthouse, waiting to watch Trump’s arrest in real-time.

In the meantime, you can watch the clip from The Benny Show above (if you must).

Donald Trump’s Attorney Compares Him To Tupac & Biggie

Things aren’t looking great for Donald Trump these days. The former president of the United States faces several investigations but only recently did allegations of fraud manifest into an actual indictment. He’s expected to turn himself in on Tuesday for his arraignment on charges reportedly related to fraud. The investigation surrounds the alleged hush money he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of his presidential campaign. However, he and his allies feel like this is an attack orchestrated by the Democrats.

The former president already left Florida to head back to New York City for his arraignment on Tuesday. Though he won’t be put in cuffs, he’ll have to be photographed and fingerprinted. Moreover, the grand jury will ultimately reveal what laws he broke. However, a few publications have asked the judge to make the indictment public. According to reports, Trump is facing roughly 30 charges including at least one felony related to the Stormy Daniels controversy.

Donald Trump Is Tupac & Biggie, His Attorney Argues

Trump’s attorney Alina Habbais recently sat down with Benny Johnson on The Benny Show where she made one of the weirdest comparisons of his political career. While discussing the arraignment, Johnson pointed out how some politicians and pundits have said Trump would become a figure like Johnny Cash or Tupac. “Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump is Biggie Smalls,” Habbais said. “But no, Donald Trump is his own brand. He is everything. This is just going to boost him. We have seen it in the polls. This is not a question. This is a fact.”

Habbais encouraged members of the GOP to get behind Trump ahead of his upcoming bid for president instead of running against him. Though there’s been a huge divide within the Republican party, Trump will have a few supporters in NYC tomorrow including Marjorie Taylor Greene, who said she’d be protesting the indictment. Furthermore, on Truth Social, Trump said that he wouldn’t be able to get a fair trial. “The Corrupt D.A. has no case,” he said via Truth Social. “What he does have is a venue where it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a Fair Trial (it must be changed!), and a Trump Hating Judge, hand selected by the Soros backed D.A. (he must be changed!” We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates.

Donald Trump Arrives In NYC Ahead Of Arraignment

Donald Trump has arrived in New York City for an arraignment on Tuesday after being indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, last week. The former president faces criminal charges for organizing hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 campaign. Trump’s motorcade pulled up to Trump Tower in Manhattan shortly after 4:00 PM. There, they were met by dozens of his supporters. He waved back at them as they showed off different signs and flags.

Trump previously confirmed to supporters on Truth Social that he would be flying from Mar-a-Lago to turn himself in. “I will be leaving Mar-a-Lago on Monday at 12 noon, heading to Trump Tower in New York. On Tuesday morning I will be going to, believe it or not, the Courthouse. America was not supposed to be this way!” he wrote in a post from the weekend.

In another statement on his social media site, Trump complained about the merits of the case against him. “The Corrupt D.A. has no case. What he does have is a venue where it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a Fair Trial (it must be changed!), and a Trump Hating Judge, hand selected by the Soros backed D.A. (he must be changed!). Also has the DOJ working in the D.A.’s Office – Unprecedented!” he wrote. With the charges, Trump has become the first-ever former U.S. president to face criminal charges. The indictment comes after an investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

As for future coverage of the trial, Trump’s lawyers have argued that they do not want cameras in the court room. “It will create a circus-like atmosphere at the arraignment, raise unique security concerns, and is inconsistent with President Trump’s presumption of innocence,” Trump’s attorney Susan Necheles said. Judge Juan Merchan has not yet ruled one way or another.

Donald Trump Remixes Ice Spice’s “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” On “SNL”: Video

As expected, this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live couldn’t help but poke fun at some of the biggest news of the year so far – Donald Trump’s indictment. In case you missed it, the former president is now facing criminal charges for allegedly giving hush money to Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their previous sexual relationship. He’s expected to turn himself into the New York Police Department in the coming days, at which time the world will see a highly anticipated mugshot of the reality star.

In their usual fashion, the late-night comedy show used other relevant pop culture tropes to commentate on Trump’s situation. James Austin Johnson stepped into character as the politician, announcing to audiences that he’s ready to head into custody. “It’s time I come clean and admit I broke the law and go quietly to prison,” he reluctantly says, before adding, “April Fools!” As XXL notes, the embattled entertainer then jokes about needing more money for his legal defense team, which he’s raising by dropping two cover albums – NOW That’s What I Call My Legal Defense Fund and Trump Bopz.

SNL Pokes Fun at Donald Trump’s Indictment

According to the skit, the projects feature 30 songs, all covered by Trump. Among the titles are Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream,” as well as Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic.” Additionally, his son Donald Trump Jr. (played by Mikey Day) joined him to remix Ice Spice and Pink Pantheress’ “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” which has become incredibly popular on TikTok over the past few weeks. “This is really emotional. It might be the last time I see you,” the younger of the two men confessed before their hilarious performance.

After finishing their song, the Trump family patriarch declared, “We love Ice Spice. Beautiful hair, beautiful hair.” Of course, social media users have been loving the skit, and it’s surely only a matter of time until the Bronx Baddie herself replies. Besides those antics, many SNL viewers were eager to see Lil Yachty’s performance of “The Black Seminole” and “Drive Me Crazy” on last night’s episode. Check those out for yourself here, and tap back in later for any updates on Donald Trump’s impending arrest.

Yusef Salaam of Exonerated Central Park Five Calls Trump Indictment ‘Karma’

Yusef Salaam calls Trump indictment karma

Former President Donald Trump’s recent 34-count indictment has stirred a range of public opinion with everyone from politicians to celebrities to ordinary people chiming in. However, Yusef Salaam, one of the exonerated “Central Park Five,” has a unique perspective on the situation, simply calling it “karma.”

Salaam tweeted the following after news of the indictment broke:

For those who may not remember, in 1989, Trump, who was then a prominent New York City businessman, took out several full-page newspaper advertisements calling for New York City politicians to reinstate the death penalty following the brutal rape and attack of a female jogger in New York City. Five youth, Salaam, Korey Wise, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson, were wrongfully imprisoned for 7-13 years until the attacker was caught. They had been coerced into giving false confessions and received substantial settlements. All are involved in criminal justice activism efforts now. Trump never formally apologized to the five, especially since he took out the ads before their trials began.

Salaam recently announced his candidacy for New York City Council.

Former President Donald Trump Reacts To Indictment

Donald Trump may be in for a world of trouble. After weeks of anticipation and anxiety from both sides of the political spectrum, a Manhattan grand jury has indicted former President Donald Trump. However, those who hoped this would have an effect on his ability to run for office again may be disappointed. Even a felon can run for office. Still, It is a landmark decision. No current or former president in history has ever been indicted. The inquiry that led to the grand jury’s decision began five years ago. At the time, Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen was charged with illegal campaign contributions. He pled guilty and was charged. It is yet another embarrassment for Trump, who has spent the last several years shirking responsibility for his actions.

The charges being brought against Trump have not yet been made public. However, it is speculated that they are related to hush money paid near the end of his 2016 campaign for president. Michael Cohen, who was disbarred and served prison time for his crimes, arranged the payment of two women that allegedly had relationships with Trump. In court, the former lawyer admitted to paying $130,000 in exchange for their discretion. Cohen was then paid back by way of installments that were billed as “legal fees.” He has claimed that Trump knew at the time what he was paying for. This information could be part of what serves as the basis for the indictment against the former president.

Trump Points The Finger In Social Media Rant

Trump, of course, responded to the indictment in his usual fashion. The former president took to social media to point the finger at Democrats. He claimed, once again, that there has been a “Witch-Hunt” since before he took office. He also accused the left of cheating and stealing. This is likely in reference to the widely debunked conspiracy that the 2020 election results were falsified. He also claimed that the indictment was simply a ploy to interfere with his 2024 campaign. “The Democrats have lied, cheated and stolen in their obsession with trying to ‘Get Trump’,” the former president wrote. “But now they’ve done the unthinkable – indicting a completely innocent person in an act of blatant Election Interference.”

Noticeably missing from Trump’s rant was any sort of explanation for the alleged charges that are being brought against him. In fact, the only reference to the indictment directly is his assertion that the Manhattan grand jury is indicting an “innocent” person. The result of the decision to indict him remains to be seen, but the cards certainly seem to be stacked against the former president. We can expect more news about the specific charges being brought against Trump in the following days. In the meantime, Trump will surely have plenty more to say about it.

Donald Trump Indicted By Grand Jury Over Stormy Daniels Hush Money

Earlier this month, Donald Trump suggested on Truth Social that an arrest could be in his near future. While the former President got the date wrong, word of him being taken into custody was on point, according to TMZ. On Thursday (March 30), it was officially announced that a Manhattan grand jury has voted to indict the embattled politician. The charges are specifically regarding his alleged involvement in giving adult actress Stormy Daniels hush money to stay quiet about their intimate past.

An exact timetable of events remains unknown for now. However, it has been said that Trump will turn himself into authorities in the near future. The jury involved in the investigation has been listening to witness testimony since January. Among those who shared their experience of events include The Apprentice creator’s former attorney/fixer, Michael Cohen. He previously served prison time for his involvement in the Daniels scandal. It’s worth noting that the New York native himself didn’t appear before the group.

Donald Trump Indicted in New York City

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has yet to announce the charges, though they’ll likely come within the next few days. At this time, Trump is believed to be at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida but will fly to the Big Apple to cooperate. In his initial post warning followers of a potential impending arrest, the 76-year-old questionably called for other Republicans to protest, even threatening “death and destruction” coming if he were to be indicted. As a result, the city has been placed on high alert in preparation for any wild antics.

With this indictment, Donald Trump is officially the first U.S. President to receive criminal charges. He’s been accused of brokering a $130,000 payment to Daniels during his first political campaign, in 2016, as she attempted to publicly expose their 2006 affair. Cohen claims he was at the centre of the deal, and was responsible for cutting the check to the pornstar before later being reimbursed by the embattled star’s organization. DT has consistently denied these allegations, calling both witnesses liars. Where do you think the famous blonde’s fate lies after his arrest? Sound off in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Mike Pence Ordered to Testify in Jan 6. Federal Case

j

Former vice president Mike Pence is headed to court. A federal judge has ordered Pence to appear in front of a grand jury that is investigating former president Donald J. Trump.

The request for Pence comes in an investigation of Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. According to the New York Times, Judge James E. Boasberg’s rulings impact Trump’s attempt to limit the type of questions that can be positioned against him in court.

Pence is being requested after Trump asked for him to delay or block the Electoral College vote count, cementing Trump’s loss. Before the court order, Trump’s lawyer asked for the court’s chief judge, Beryl A. Howell, to limit what Pence could deliver in testimony.

On the other hand, Pence’s lawyers also asked for limited testimony due to his role as president of the Senate, which would exclude him from any legal issues.

You can learn more about Pence’s order here.
