Drake vs Kendrick Lamar will go down as the rap story of 2024. They are two of the biggest stars the genre has ever seen, and they dropped some scathing disses. None were more scathing that Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams,” however. Over a menacing Alchemist beat, the Compton spitter claimed that his opponent was hiding a second child from the world. A daughter, to be exact, and the internet seemed to track down the alleged daughter in question. Nobody had proof, but Drake had also been caught hiding a child from the public before. Was it true?

Well, according to DM screenshots, the answer is seemingly no. DJ Akademiks posted a screenshot that dates back to July 15, 2018. The DM appears to be sent to Drake from the woman that Lamar’s camp has suggested is the mother of his daughter. The alleged daughter is even mentioned by name. “My baby Eternity is five and she really adores you,” the woman wrote. “Eternity and I have tixs to your your [sic] Los Angeles show and she really just wants to meet you. I will pay anything to make this happen for my five year old please.”

Drake’s 2018 DM Was Posted By DJ Akademiks

DJ Akademiks neatly summarized the takeaways from this alleged screenshot in his caption. He told followers that there is no way Drake is the father of this woman’s daughter if they had never met prior to 2018. Furthermore, the DM exchange implies that Drake and the woman in question do not know each other at all. “Apparently the woman as of early as 2018 was hitting up Drake to meet him,” Ak explained. “Which makes it impossible he fathered her child.” The hip hop personality also made sure to highlight the fact that Kendrick Lamar and his camp said otherwise.

The legitimacy of Lamar’s claim on “Meet the Grahams” has been a talking point since it dropped. Elliott Wilson of Rap Radar released a version of the song with the verse about the alleged daughter removed. He felt it damaged an otherwise great song, which led to social media tension between Wilson and the TDE camp. Well, DJ Akademiks recently took to his livestream to address the issue, making the bombshell claim that they split up a while ago. Even though he didn’t choose to provide proof or read into the situation too deeply, he did recall a recent conversation with the Michigan rapper.

“[A] breakup letter, if you want to call it,” DJ Akademiks said of DDG’s breakup message. “I understood it. You know why I understood it? On DJ Akademiks’ latest stream, he turned his eye towards Jay-Z, since Spiro is reportedly also his lawyer. Moreover, the media personality alleged that Hov sent Spiro to Tupac’s family in order to further taint the Bad Boy mogul’s reputation, an allegation with no sort of confirmation or charge at press time.

DJ Akademiks Plays New Lil Durk And Drake Song On Live Stream: Watch

DJ Akademiks is on the short list of streamers who get to play exclusive music. He’s on there with Adin Ross and Kai Cenat. This makes sense, given his connections to numerous high profile rappers. DJ Ak is someone who regularly claims to have messages from Drake to relay to the fans. This link seemed to be in full effect on Friday, October 4. DJ Akademiks played the full music video version of the upcoming Lil Durk and Drake “Discontinuing Wockhardt.” He didn’t even realize it hadn’t been released until halfway through.

DJ Akademiks threw the song on and started vibing to it during his live stream. The stream window was partially in the way, but it appears as though the streamer threw up the unreleased music video for the song on stream as well. It’s difficult to tell for sure, but it definitely looks like Lil Durk is rapping along to the lyrics. Ak then second-guesses whether the song is out or not. He stops the song, googles the drop date, and realizes he’s playing “Discontinuing Wockhardt” early. The internet personality shrugs and puts the song back on. He gets especially excited when Drake’s verse kicks in.

The Lil Durk Song Was Originally Teased By Adin Ross

Drake’s inclusion on the song has actually been a point of contention in recent weeks. The song was first previewed by Adin Ross back in September. It turned heads because Drake alluded to quitting lean, and then people quickly forgot about the snippet. “Discontinuing Wockhardt” then appeared on the tracklist for Lil Durk’s upcoming album, Love Songs 4 the Streets 3. All good, right? Well, not quite. Drake was the only artist seemingly not listed as a feature. The tracklist boasted appearances from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Kai Cenat, but “Discontinuing Wockhardt” was listed as a solo song.

Rumors began to swirl that this was yet another instance of Drake running into clearance issues. The rapper previously had to take Playboi Carti off the song “No Face,” and he allegedly removed Lil Boat from the final version “Supersoak.” Some even theorized that the exclusion meant there were issues between Lil Durk and Drizzy. Fortunately, Lil Durk came out and claimed that the tracklist circulating online was fake. When taken into consideration with Akademiks previews, it seems like Drake will be making the final cut.
