DJ Akademiks Calls Out Drake, Kendrick Lamar, & J. Cole For Avoiding Hip Hop Outlets

True to his form, DJ Akademiks is back with commentary about a few of Rap’s heavy hitters. He’s not one to mince words, and it seems that this time, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake are in his crosshairs. Cole’s recent intimate interview with Bob Myers has been the talk of sports and Hip Hop, so it isn’t surprising that Ak had a thing or two to say about the chat. The look wasn’t something Akademiks was a fan of because he believes K-Dot, Cole World, and Drizzy actively avoid certain outlets.

“J. Cole and the rest of y’all big rappers,” Ak began. “No wonder y’all get sh*tted on by Hip Hop outlets. Y’all get so big in the game—they use the culture, and they use all these blogs. Not saying you need to—I don’t care if they do an interview with me. But I know a lot of journalists in the game, and they won’t speak up. And a lot of them still really hope to get an interview. I say f*ck all these n*ggas.”

DJ Akademiks Details His Disapproval

“I just look at n*ggas, like J. Cole. When I see you doing some sh*t on ESPN but you won’t do an interview with a n*gga in the culture, you won’t hop on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, you won’t hop on motherf*cking Drink Champs. You won’t be with Joe Budden or something like that. I look at it as some weird sh*t.” Akademiks further stated he was “speaking for all the little journalists in the game.” He also suggested many rappers don’t want to sit down with these outlets because they can’t control the narrative.

This is something that Akademiks regularly faces due to his controversial connections in the industry. He’s been called out for the way he reports on the culture; still, his blog continues to increase in popularity. “If Kendrick don’t wanna f*ck with you, tell that n*gga to kick rocks,” he added. Ak insisted he would never beg anyone for an interview. “They’re gonna go to some whitewashed outlet and go sit with some random n*gga, or some random white dude and not talk to you.” There were many more noteworthy moments in DJ Akademiks’s Livestream, so check that out above. Does he make a point, or are his criticisms too much?

Akademiks & Charleston White’s Show Canceled After Racist Remarks About Asians, China Mac Reacts

A week after Math Hoffa called out Charleston White for the disgusting remarks about the podcaster’s daughters, more news about the controversial social media star was shared. White is a polarizing figure in the online community. He’s often seen targeting celebrities, particularly in Hip Hop culture, and sharing scathing hot takes about their personal lives. Additionally, he’s known for antagonizing people with questionable relationships with the law. If they retaliate or make verbal threats, White calls the police and reports them.

Things have intensified after White dropped off another video, this time targeting the Asian community. He called for Asian women to be sexually assaulted “brutally” as he specifically disparaged all things associated with Chinese people. The remarks were damning, and it was no surprise that White received backlash over them. China Mac, a rapper and ex-gang member, responded with a reaction that has ignited an online beef. Mac wants to see White face-to-face.

China Mac Responds To Charleson White

“Let me make this very clear, Charleston White don’t speak for all Black people,” China Mac said in a response video. “He don’t! This ain’t a Black and Asian thing. This is a Charleston White thing, so we gon’ keep it on Charleston White. Charleston White, you a b*tch, right? You also got a lotta foul stuff to say about my people, and we gon’ hold you accountable for that. Facts.”

Mac then mentioned an upcoming live show DJ Akademiks reportedly put together. He was said to have booked White. “April 30, you gon’ be in New York City, right? You got a show at the Gramercy Theater with Akademiks, right?” Mac further questioned. “Akademiks, you stand by this, bro? Are you consigning this? You consigning this, this racism, this rhetoric, this bullsh*t? Are you consigning that? ‘Cause inquiring minds wanna know, bro. Gramercy Theater, right? April 30, right? Say less.”

Akademiks Says He Isn’t Involved

On Twitch, Akademiks also addressed the controversy. It’s evident that he doesn’t want anything to do with the back and forth, although he is in the middle. Also, in a video, White went off on Math Hoffa. In his rant, he additionally alleged he would sexually assault Hoffa’s young daughters if given the opportunity. Hoffa responded as any father would, including delivering a message to Akademiks. It wasn’t lost on the blogger.

However, it’s now reported that the show was canceled by Live Nation following White’s bigoted comments about the Asian community. No Jumper shared the information; in the comments, Wack 100 also wrote, “I SUPPORT THIS DECISION.” Check it out above.

Wack 100 Calls Akademiks Thirsty Over Fake News About J. Prince Being Arrested Because Of Offset

The public is determined to continue the rift between J. Prince and Offset. Since the untimely death of rapper Takeoff, a line has been drawn in the sand. Prosecutors are diligently working on a case against Patrick Clark, the suspect accused of murdering the Migos star during a dice game last November in Houston. Takeoff was also with several of J. Prince’s relatives, thrusting the family into the spotlight of criticism. Prince’s son was heavily ridiculed for appearing to walk past Takeoff’s dead body. The family has repeatedly expressed their distress over his loss.

However, Offset apparently hasn’t been as forgiving. J. Prince suggested there was more behind the scenes with Set and issued scathing insults toward the grieving rapper. The backlash was swift, and the viral moment was widely shared. Things dissipated, but a news report on social media claimed Prince had been arrested for threatening Offset.

Offset & J. Prince Lay Rumors To Rest

Thr rumor seems to have started after MyMixtapez posted a screenshot. It read, “Wack100 & his sources say J Prince has been arrested by Feds for threatening Offset & the remaining Migos are in protective custody.” It was a far-fetched story, especially because no one else reported on the findings. Akademiks quickly reposted, earning a reaction from Offset, who called the report false. Wack 100 also chimed in because he certainly wasn’t happy to see his name dragged through a fake scandal. He fired off a direct message to Ak.

“[Akademiks] thirst move,” the music manager wrote. “If you don’t have the content of me saying this don’t stamp it.. But I get it #clickBait is the New New Testament….. Dude ain’t nobody to hide from #Gtfoh @offsetyrn you have a good day today.” Prince also entered the chat, albeit without saying too much. He shared a video of himself enjoying gray skies in a lavish estate, and in the caption, wrote, “A lie ain’t nothin to tell.”

Meanwhile, Akademiks has continued to share updates about him being called out. However, he didn’t address using his platform to fuel the fire of this beef with fake news. Check out more about this above from all involved.

Math Hoffa Slams Charleston White For Threatening His Daughters, Calls Out Akademiks

Charleston White is a character that often gets under people’s skin, but his comments about Math Hoffa’s children understandably received a scathing response from the My Expert Opinion star. White is known for his unfiltered takes on Hip Hop culture and regularly engages in verbal, social media wars with artists, gangsters, and industry professionals. These spats usually end with him either threatening to call the police or contacting the authorities. Whenever someone says anything negative about him, he returns with comments that light up the internet, and he did just that when responding to Math Hoffa.

Instead of keeping the argument between him and Hoffa, White makes disgusting remarks about Hoffa’s young daughters. White detailed how he would sexually assault them, and it is something that no doting father could ignore. Hoffa shared a video addressing the statements and called out Akademiks for scheduling an interview with White.

Math Hoffa Unleashes His Ire

“Y’all see this sh*t? Y’all see this clown?” Hoffa says at the opening of his video. “Last night, I told this n*gga, ‘F*ck your life.’ And today, this n*gga got online and tooted it. Tooted it up in the air. We gon’ help you get outta here, homie. We gon’ help your pedophile ass get out of here, homie.” Hoffa also stated that White was trying to turn the controversy into a “New York thing” to cover up that he “tried to threaten my six or seven-year-old daughters. Threatened to rape them. Online.”

“This is what some people call entertainment,” Hoffa added. “It’s funny, ’til it’s you. So, how about you just imagine it being you. And then, you understand me.” He then turned his attention to Akademiks. “Yo, shout out to Akademiks! Tag Akademiks in this sh*t. He booked this n*gga for a show in New York. What a alley-oop. Ak, let me know wherever you put this n*gga at.”

A History Of Scandals

Within the last year alone, White has been busy. He’s aimed at T.I., Soulja Boy, and J. Prince, to name a handful of artists. He was said to have even pepper-sprayed Soulja after the rapper approached him publicly. White also threatened to call the police on Tip and his song King. Check out much more from Math Hoffa above.

DJ Akademiks Claims Gunna Wants Out Of YSL, Has An Album Ready

Hip Hop fans are still wondering what Gunna’s next move will be. After being released from jail in December, the rapper hasn’t made much movement in his career or social media. He was initially a part of the first string of arrests tied to the YSL RICO case. Gunna, Young Thug, and over two dozen of their purported associates were detained on charges related to several crimes. It was alleged that YSL was a criminal street organization, but Thugger and his supporters have insisted it is only a record label.

Meanwhile, Gunna was the first to accept a plea deal to taste freedom. He has flown under the radar, but DJ Akademiks claims to have inside information. “I think he’s cooked up an album. From what I heard, he has an album ready,” Akademiks said while on Livestream. “He has an album discussing a bunch of sh*t. He’s got an album, he’s got some sh*t to say. But there’s nobody down to stand with him.”

Akademiks Speculates About Gunna’s Future

“So, it becomes one of those situations where, yeah, how good could you make a case if everybody’s leaving you on an island. So, I think Gunna is kinda in limbo, waiting to see what happens with Thug. I think he’s praying that Thug gets a favorable outcome. Or he’s probably praying that, you know, despite what might happen to Thug, that Thug has some type of grace for him.”

The rant was all speculative, as Gunna hasn’t spoken out much. He and his lawyer have repeatedly denied snitching allegations, and Gunna emerged on Instagram to give a shoutout to Thug. However, Akademiks shared what he’s heard down the grapevine, while Hip Hop awaits more from Gunna himself. “I think, if you ask me, these are just my thoughts. I think if Thugger gets 20 years or 15 years, I think Gunna will try to proposition this offer to them: ‘Yo, how ’bout if y’all give me that co-sign that I need to get the snitch thing off of me, to get that jacket off of me, I’ll give a bigger percentage of my earnings to Thugger.’”

Akademiks Claims Gunna Wants Out Of YSL

Additionally, Akademiks claimed that he also heard that Gunna was making moves to leave YSL. Because the relationship is “fractured,” Akademiks said there is no way Gunna can go through something like this with the label and come out on the other side. Check out more from DJ Akademiks above.

Blueface & Akademiks Reignite Beef Over Lil Baby & Chrisean Rock

At this point, Blueface is making sure he’s in your face—or at least on social media—every single day. It seems as if the rapper has been steadily involved in some sort of news cycle drama from one week to the next. Usually, it pertains to his tumultuous relationship with Chrisean Rock, and today’s unraveling wasn’t any different. This morning, Blueface was accused of clout chasing after he called out Lil Baby for reaching out to Rock.

There were rumors about Baby and Rock having some sort of sexual encounter. However, the Atlanta hitmaker seemingly contacted Blueface’s girlfriend to tell her that he only wanted to be like a brother. He laid gossip to rest, but Blueface used it to shine a light on himself once again. As the drama unfolded, DJ Akademiks jumped in with a few hot takes of his own.

Akademiks Refreshes Beef With Blueface

There is no love lost between Akademiks and Blue, as they have often attacked one another on social media. “Blueface claiming the sh*t outta his girl these days once he see other lit n*ggas in her inbox,” tweeted Ak. “And the fact that she’s more lit than him. Remember at first this n*gga was acting like she was dirt. Yall see how when n*ggas down bad they come back around? Take note ladies.”

He then went through a scenario of Blueface “stealing” Rock’s phone and going through it just to see who was messaging her. “N*gga, instead of worrying bout him saved as ‘Big Brother’ in her phone.. ask for a verse n*gga.. u need it.” Blueface seeming reacted by saying he supports his girl with whatever she does. Yet, he claimed that people are pretending to be a “big brother” without making business moves.

Blueface Claims Akademiks Didn’t Support Chrisean Rock

The California rapper also called out Akademiks for only recently supporting Rock. “Been did music with rock put money up an budgets for videos an promo for rock for 3 years now,” said Blueface. “Win lose or draw you really think I’m not finna keep it going.” He added, “Ak hated on rock the whole time now he all of a sudden a advocate for her when he mad cuz she lit an I got some to do wit it.”

It doesn’t look like these two will be making nice anytime soon. Blueface and Rock continue to hop on Instagram Live to comment on almost everything. If there is one thing they’re learning to master, is that controversy sells. Check out more from this chaos above and below.

Vic Mensa Explains Why He Got Upset With Akademiks: “Parasitic Platform”

He may not be firing off new music like his peers, but that doesn’t mean Vic Mensa’s schedule isn’t stacked. The Chicago artist is fresh off helping organize the Black Star Line Festival in Ghana alongside Chance The Rapper. In an interview with Paper Magazine, Mensa detailed traveling to Ghana in January last year. When he reached out to friends about being in Africa, only Chance asked to come to visit. It was a spiritual experience that bonded the friends, sparking the idea to host a music festival overseas.

Additionally, activism is something that Mensa continues to be involved in, especially in the Windy City. His non-profit SaveMoneySaveLife has helped thousands of residents in need, and Mensa is active in the local music scene to support rising artists. Paper asked about Chi-Town’s Drill scene and Mensa’s tense reaction to DJ Akademiks during an interview in 2017.

It was then Mensa was a guest on Everyday Struggle, a show co-hosted by Akademiks. The rapper took issue with how the blogger covered Chicago Drill artists, and Paper asked what it was like to see the genre accepted worldwide. “It’s really astounding, man. It’s beautiful. Ghanaian Drill is interesting too because it’s this ping-pong effect where Drill music from Chicago then inspired the UK, who transformed that sound plus Grime into a UK Drill scene; which then ping-ponged and inspired Pop Smoke and them to do the New York Drill scene, which then ping-ponged and inspired the Ghanaian kids to make Ghanaian Drill.”

Mensa explained that each scene is rooted in something different. In the U.S., Rap is heavily centered on experiences connected to violence. In Ghana, Mensa says the struggle isn’t the same. “The Drill movement was always conflicting for me,” he shares. “While I loved the artistic expression in the music, I also had a front-row seat to the real-life accompaniment to that music. Friends of mine were killed in the midst of Drill rap beef and all that sh*t. That was why I got into it with Akademiks.”

He continued, “Because a kid that I grew up with and went to karate with when we were five years old ended up being a street n***a, gang banging, et cetera. He was also a very talented rapper. When he got killed, there was music involved, there were big Drill artists involved, and I heard about it on Akademiks’ parasitic platform. So that’s why I was upset.”

Akademiks Thinks Quavo Should Address J. Prince Targeting Offset

Nobody wins when the family feuds, or so they say, and DJ Akademiks thinks Offset and Quavo should unite. The Migos rappers are still mourning the loss of Takeoff, who was killed at the top of November 2022. He was at a private event in Houston with several others when a verbal argument turned deadly. Takeoff wasn’t involved in the fight but was said to be an innocent bystander who sadly lost his life.

J. Prince and his family have been enveloped in controversy after it was learned that J. Prince Jr. was at the fatal event. They were criticized for their proximity to the killing, but J. Prince has defended his family every step of the way. Things took a turn when he targeted Offset during his Million Dollaz Worth of Game interview. He fired off insults and claimed Offset’s family doesn’t have much contact with him.

Offset answered with a video of his own, but that only caused Prince to return. He alleged that Offset and Cardi B called him when they were having issues with purported gangs in Los Angeles. Prince also called Offset a “fake motherf*cka” and a “clown,” ushering in a beef that many don’t want to see unravel. Hip Hop commentators have chimed in with their hot takes, including DJ Akademiks, who believes Quavo should step forward in Offset’s defense. It’s rumored that the two relatives have been on the outs, including a near-spat that occurred backstage at the Grammys.

“You know the weirdest thing about it? I feel like more than Offset, J. Prince has disrespected Quavo,” said Akademiks. He then quickly corrected himself, saying it was less “disrespect” and more putting “Quavo on the spot.” He claimed that Prince insinuated that Quavo was responsible for Takeoff’s death. “They’re talking so much sh*t and we’re not hearing a motherf*ckin word from Quavo.

Following Prince’s vicious call-out, Offset and Cardi B denied his allegations. Cardi fired off a tweet that read “BIG LIES” while Offset went a different route. He tweeted that Prince was the police and added he wouldn’t speak on the tension any further.

Blueface Continues To Call Out DJ Akademiks Over Fight

Blueface isn’t backing down from a fight with DJ Akademiks. The “Thotiana” rapper continued to go at Akademiks on Twitter during a series of posts fired off on Tuesday.

Before Blueface began tweeting again, Akademiks targeted the rapper’s partner: “I got $5 K per N***a who F*cked BLUEFACE girl who down to get on my twitch stream breaking it down how it happened. DNA test included, F*ck maury, BIG AK finna do a paternity test for that broke Ass N***a BLUEFACE. Im pledging $50k for this effort, WHO GOT BLUEFACE girl pregnant.”

Blueface later tweeted: “Ak want me to fight a female instead of him at 31 years old give it up bro squabble up or shut up.”

“We all know when a N***a turning a fade down an @Akademiks is clearly turning it down the best way he know how to,” he added.

“N****s always use a bitch as a cop out sound like a bitch ass N***a to me,” he continued. “N***a said MMA he must wanna wrestle or some lol cuz ak fasho can’t throw no kicks with his fat ass.”

Afterward, he accused Akademiks of being in a “committed relationship” with Celina Powell.

“Ak is offering 5k to 10 n****s to take the fade for him,” he further wrote. “I must be the big bad wolf or some cuz he was so gangsta for lil baby.”

The feud between Akademiks and Blueface has been going on for quite some time, but has been feverishly heating up in the last 24 hours. Blueface previously criticized Akademiks on No Jumper. Later, Akademiks reported that the rapper’s $1.5M home is in pre-foreclosure.

Blueface & DJ Akademiks Trade Shots On Twitter

Blueface and DJ Akademiks just started some beef over Twitter, and a lot’s been said in a couple of days. Moreover, they sent shots back and forth at each other about their careers and exploits in music. Also, Blueface has been making rounds for his reality show Crazy In Love with his girlfriend Chrisean Rock. However, Ak brought music into the conversation and they fought over their careers.

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA – JUNE 24: Rapper Blueface Onstage at the 2nd annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards at The Beverly Hilton on June 24, 2022 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo by Prince Williams/Getty Images)

It all started on Thursday (January 12) when the L.A. MC tweeted “I got way more money then ak why he playing like this.” Furthermore, just a few days prior, the former Complex host tweeted a viral video from Blueface’s show where his girlfriend struck him in the head. However, he later clarified he doesn’t actually have beef with Akademiks.

“I got no beef with ak guys I just use him for promo at this point if he tell y’all what I got going on I don’t have to say much just respond to him every once Ina while an he gone do his job for me for free…W promo,” he tweeted.

When Akademiks clapped back, he said he still supports Blueface. Still, he did tell the rapper to focus more on his music career instead of his other entertainment ventures.

“I fw and love Blueface,” the 31-year-old wrote. While he had his criticisms, he cited good intentions. “I want him not to be in abusive relationship and I don’t want his career and reputation ruined. I want him back focused on rap.”

Even though Ak’s message wasn’t entirely negative, Blueface quickly turned around and heated things up.

“Im the EP of my docu-series,” the “Bleed Em” star wrote. “Ak I’m bigger then rap I’m past rap stop tryna keep me Ina box cuz yo rap career ain’t take off.

“I son ak an let him know he a pawn on my chest board,” he continued. “Now it’s fake care an love I’m to good at the mind games, thin line between love an hate.”

Afterwards, it seems the media personality took that “son” jab seriously. Moreover, he called Blueface his son in his clapback. Also, he clowned the rapper’s head tattoos.

“Please y’all go watch my SON Blueface get knocked out on camera by his girl on her reality show… so that he can get a lil paycheck to pay his mortgage and finance that cheap ass C8. We don’t want him getting no more tattoos of JEWELERS on the side of his head,” he replied.

Then on Saturday (January 14), Blueface took aim at Ak’s music career, comparing their Spotify monthly listeners. Moreover, he made it clear that he doesn’t take his advice seriously.

“Ak please stop talking about people music career,” he asked. “Clearly you don’t have the answers you failed at rap.”

However, the most recent chapter in this saga came swiftly after, with DJ Akademiks reaffirming his support and expressed his disappointment.

“Good morning Blue. Lol just do better bruh. That’s all. I’m rooting for you,” Ak expressed. “U better than being a stand in stunt double for domestic abuse on a reality show on Zeus. Sorry if I want better for u than u want ur self. That $4.99 subscription shouldn’t have u compromising character.”

What do you think of this spout of beef between Blueface and DJ Akademiks? Moreover, where do you think it will go from here? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for more updates on this story.
