Marvel Studios Severes Ties With Jonathan Majors Following Guilty Verdict

Marvel Studios has cut ties with Jonathan Majors, who played Kang the Conqueror in various MCU projects, after a New York jury found the actor guilty of assault on Monday. The jury found him guilty of one misdemeanor assault and one harassment violation in his trial regarding an alleged attack on Grace Jabbari. A Marvel studio representative confirmed the decision to Deadline.

While he received two guilty verdicts, the jury also found Majors not guilty of intentional assault in the third degree and of aggravated harassment in the second degree. Altogether the trial stems from an incident during a cab ride in Manhattan back in March.

New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg addressed the verdict in a statement on Monday: “At the Manhattan D.A.’s Office, we are committed to centering survivors in all of our work. The evidence presented throughout this trial illustrated a cycle of psychological and emotional abuse, and escalating patterns of coercion far too common across the many intimate partner violence cases we see each and every day. Today, a jury determined that pattern of abuse and coercion culminated with Mr. Majors assaulting and harassing his girlfriend. We thank the jury for its service and the survivor for bravely telling her story despite having to relive her trauma on the stand.”

Marvel Studios Announce Three Series for Disney+ in 2024

Marvel is loading their Disney+ series for 2024. According to Comic Book, with What If…? season two set for December, three new shows will arrive next year.

The series on the way will be TV-MA Hawkeye spinoff Echo, set for January 10 release, Wandavision spinoff Agatha: Darkhold diaries, and X-Men: The Series, revival in X-Men ’97.

Marvel will also have new movies, with Deadpool 3 set for July 26. It may be the loan film released in the year.

Disney also has series for Ironheart, Wakanda, Wonderman, Daredevil, and more set for the future. Ultimately, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is holding to the plan of putting out shows at a pace where “each get a chance to shine.”

Nick Cannon says he drops $200,000 a year at Disneyland for his family. During Friday’s episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne welcomed the Wild ‘N Out creator on the show, during which he discussed the amount of time he spends at the theme park.

“I make sure that every kid that wants to do something we have certain things set up,” the father of 12 began. “I make time and go do it… I’m all over the damn place but it’s fun y’all see my IG. You see me I’m at the Grinchmas one day and Candy Cane Lane the other day… We f*cking having a ball like you know how much money I spent at Disneyland a year?”

“The crazy thing is I used to host Christmas morning at Disneyland so I used to get that Disney bag. Before rap, Kodak Black wanted to appear on television. The rapper recently caught up with HipHopDX at One Music Festival where he shed some light on his aspirations to dive into the world of television. If you recall, a video went viral of a young Kodak declaring that he was on his way to an audition for a Nickelodeon show. However, Yak revealed that he didn’t actually audition for Nickelodeon but instead, Disney for the sake of meeting Zendaya. “I never did [audition for Nick],” he revealed. “I wanted to audition for Shake It Up so I could push up on Zendaya.”

Evidently, things worked out for Kodak Black in the long-run. However, the video shed new light on Kodak’s childhood. Although it’s unclear when the video was shot, Yak’s looking babyfaced as ever. “Yeah, auditioning with Nickelodeon ’cause you know a new show coming out, feel me,” Kodak Black said. “Just, just stay tuned. Outside of his acting aspirations, Kodak Black found himself in hot water this weekend following his appearance on Drink Champs. The rapper caught heat from 21 Savage following his comments on the podcast after accusing the ATL rapper of “switching up” on him. Savage fired back, claiming that Yak continues to drag out whatever tension is between them with public comments. He also suggested that Kodak sounded jealous of his success.

Additionally, Kodak Black has been going back and forth with Ray J, who expressed concern over the interview. Ray J recalled bringing the Florida rapper to Mar-A-Lago to meet Trump. However, he felt as though Kodak “did the most” during the trip. Jonathan Majors’ “Magazine Dreams” Has Release Date Scrapped By Disney

Magazine Dreams, an upcoming drama starring Jonathan Majors, will no longer be released on December 8. Speaking with CNN, Disney confirmed that the film did not currently have a release date. Searchlight Pictures, a subsidiary of Disney, acquired the distribution rights to the film after it opened to rave reviews at Sundance. Furthermore, Disney’s live-action Snow White film starring Rachel Zegler has been pushed back from March 2024 to March 2025.

However, the decision to delay Magazine Dreams was widely expected by industry experts. Majors’ trial for assault charges begins in late November. That makes early December an inopportune time to promote and release the film. Furthermore, the film features Majors as an amateur bodybuilder who resorts to increasingly violent means to pursue his dreams. Given the charges that Majors is facing in court, Disney would likely face backlash for being “tasteless” if they were to release the film. However, Majors still appeared in Season 2 of Loki, which was released earlier this month. Despite this, his future as Kang in the MCU is still unclear.

Jonathan Majors Accuser Surrenders To Police

Meanwhile, Grace Jabbari, the ex-girlfriend of Majors, surrendered to police in New York this week after her arrest was sought for an assault against Majors. Majors filed a cross-complaint against Jabbari in June amid an investigation into assault charges she filed against him in March. Jabbari is accused of hitting Majors’ hand and face, as well as damaging his coat. The confrontation reportedly occurred in the back of a New York cab.

Jabbari was charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. However, the DA has reportedly told the NYPD that they will not prosecute Jabbari. Per TMZ, a spokesperson for the DA’s office said that they have “no intention of prosecuting Jabbari for the belated allegations made by defendant [Majors] regarding the incident on March 25, 2023.” In short, the DA is not interested in pursuing their key witness for charges their primary defendant raised three months after the incident in question. It’s unknown if Jabbari will testify at Majors’ trial next month.

Now, Hannah Montana alum Mitchel Musso joins them.TMZ reports he was arrested in Texas on Saturday (August 26) night.

The incident took place at a hotel in the city of Rockwall, according to the outlet. Officers responded to a call claiming that a man (now known to be Musso) was acting belligerent after allegedly stealing a bag of chips from the food market. Staff approached the 32-year-old to demand that he pay for the product, at which point he became verbally abusive toward them and walked away. When authorities arrived on the scene, Musso was waiting outside the hotel and determined to be under the influence.

Work on the live-action Snow White remake is underway, and some photos from the production have caused some drama online. The images, published by The Daily Mail last week, indicated that the roles of the seven dwarves will all, except for one, be played by average-sized people.

This ignited criticism over the movie’s casting and revived questioning about Rachel Zegler portraying the traditionally fair-skinned Snow White character. In particular, Ben Shapiro took exception to Zegler’s casting, saying in part, “[The word ‘white’] is literally in her name. That’s why she has her name. So I guess just to like, screw with people, they’re casting… Rachel Zegler’s a very talented person. It’s weird casting, you might say.”

Now, Halle Bailey, who herself faced some criticism when she was cast as Ariel in the remake of The Little Mermaid, showed support for Zegler.

Sharing some childhood photo of herself wearing various princess outfits, Zegler tweeted on July 15, “extremely appreciative of the love i feel from those defending me online, but please don’t tag me in the nonsensical discourse about my casting. i really, truly do not want to see it. so i leave you w these photos! i hope every child knows they can be a princess no matter what.”

Bailey quote-tweeted the post and added, “we love you so much [heart emoji] truly the perfect princess.” Zegler responded, “my sweetest girl [heart emoji] i love you always.”
