For months, the “Angel” singer managed to avoid discussing future plans with her boyfriend DDG. That all changed on January 6, when the first-time parents confirmed the birth of their son, Halo.

Now that the news is out, Bailey has begun sharing content she recorded while pregnant. But some aren’t particularly fond of the light-hearted material, given how secretive Bailey had been. Some have even called her out for gaslighting and lying to her followers when they asked if she was with child. Well, Bailey has had enough. On January 28, Bailey took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam folks for pushing the narrative.

“I never lied or even said anything about it, honey,” she wrote. “Making a joke about my nose was the farthest I went. I’ll never understand why you are mad i protected my own peace, wouldn’t you do the same? And I’m gonna share my pics now if I want to because my son is here safely. If you don’t wanna see it, just keep scrolling, baby LOL. God bless you! 😘♥”

Bailey previously revealed that she stirred clear from social media to maintain her sanity while pregnant. Her sister, Uproxx cover star Chlöe, echoed this decision and encouraged her to enjoy the pregnancy offline to avoid people’s opinions online.

Insiders claimed that the couple were aiming to “protect” their unborn child by keeping his existence a secret.” Halle told friends it was to protect their baby and relationship from scrutiny. But it was all very strange to those around them, especially when she has had such a huge year in movies,” a source told US Weekly.

Halle did have a pretty big 2023. She took on the leading role in a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. She also released her debut single as a solo artist “Angel” in August. Halle Bailey Said She ‘Stayed Off Of All Social Media’ During Her Pregnancy In Order To Keep Herself ‘Sane And Okay’

Halle Bailey had an incredible 2023, with the premiere of two blockbuster films, as well as her debut solo single. And she’s already kicking off 2024 with a bang. Earlier this month, Bailey revealed that she and her beau, rapper DDG, welcomed a baby boy named Halo last year.

Though she remained mum about the pregnancy throughout much of last year, keeping her body hidden with large flowing dresses and garments, Bailey finally took some time to answer fans’ questions via Snapchat.

One fan asked “Was the [sic] blogs and cameras stressful while pregnant?”

Bailey responded, saying “I mean, a little bit, but honestly I stayed off of all social media. I really tried to, just to keep myself sane and okay.”

Though she was quiet on social, that didn’t stop fans from coming up with their own theories, and attempting to catch Bailey or DDG slipping up. But the couple was committed to sharing the news on their own terms.

“I know that there was a lot of people who would always, like, comment and be like, ‘We know, girl, we know.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s great that you know. But I’m gonna just chill, you know, and that’s wonderful if you support me, and if not, that’s okay too. I hope you have a wonderful life.”

Now, it appears DDG and Bailey are enjoying their new parenthood. So much so, they created an Instagram account for Halo.

Halle Bailey And DDG’s Baby Halo Was Just Born And He Already Has More Instagram Followers Than You

It’s only been a few days since Halle Bailey and DDG announced the birth of their son, Halo, but they are already introducing him to the world of social media. Yesterday (January 9), the new parents launched an Instagram for him, and fans instantly flocked to follow it.

The account, @therealbabyhalo, has over 38,000 followers as of this post. “My stylist & dada @ddg run this page.. the flyest baby alive,” the bio reads.

However, for those who might have been expecting to see what Halo looked like, it might not happen for a while. In the first post on Halo’s Instagram, they blurred out the baby’s face for privacy reasons. All that can be seen is that he is rocking a black Nike onesie.

“Went all black nike tech today for doctor check ups… nun too crazy,” the caption reads.

This has left those interested a bit confused by the purpose. “What’s tha point in makin ah instagram for a baby who’s face yall don’t wanna show?” one user commented.

“Creating a page but don’t wanna show the face is wild,” another wrote with laughing emojis. “We supposed to like the baby feet?!?”

Others took a different approach and appreciated DDG for having fun with being a new father.
