DDG Says Female Rappers Are “Sh*ttin On Male Rappers”

DDG has gone by many names, such as PontiacMadeDDG or his birthname, Darryl Dwayne Granberry, Jr. However, it’s time to add another moniker to his list: Female Rapper Advocate. In a recent Tweet, the 25-year-old rapper lauded the efforts of the ladies in the rap game. He said the men were essentially getting lapped in terms of effort and output. And while this is his opinion, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest he’s speaking the truth.

DDG has been part of the rap industry since around 2016. He’s had plenty of experience in grinding to get what he wants. He made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for music in 2023. He released his second studio album, It’s Not Me It’s You, in September of last year. As of this writing, he’s still dating Halle Bailey of The Little Mermaid remake, with the actress calling the romance “transformative.” Despite all of this success, DDG believes female rappers are killing it while the men are getting sh*t on.

The rapper might be right when he says “Female rapper sh*ttin on male rappers frfr.” Some of the mainstay artists — Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion — are at the height of their powers. Other up-and-comers — Ice Spice, GloRilla, Saweetie — are getting plenty of limelight. Three female artists cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Year-End Hot Rap Songs Chart: Latto’s “Big Energy,” Doja Cat’s “Vegas,” and “Sweetest Pie” by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Dua Lipa. (Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” was at number 11.)

All of this is to say that DDG has some credibility behind his statement. While the guys still dominate the airtime overall, it’s no secret that the women are coming for the crown. And they’re doing it quickly. The 2024 Grammys might see ladies sweep the rap genre, considering many of the top-tier men released music last year. For this summer at least, we can all trust in DDG’s comment and watch as the women sh*t on the men in rap…and we’re all the better for it.

Halle Bailey Hilariously Pops Off In New DDG YouTube Vlog

Since The Little Mermaid hit theatres in late May, the world has only fallen more in love with Halle Bailey. While racists may disagree, the 23-year-old actress was arguably the best choice to play Ariel, perfectly personifying the redheaded princess alongside friends like Sebastian, Flounder, and Scuttle. Halle continued to carry herself with regal grace all through the movie’s press tour, but according to DDG’s most recent YouTube vlog, she’s now back at home and feeling much freer to be herself around loved ones.

In a brief clip reposted by @theneighborhoodtalk on Instagram, the Atlanta-born vocalist sits with her boyfriend in a room full of friends and family members. Rather than the stunning designer gowns we’ve seen her sauntering down the red carpet in over the past month, Bailey opted to keep it cozy in a matching sweatsuit, also letting her natural beauty shine, sans makeup. She still looks every bit as radiant as Ariel, but the words that come out of her mouth prove that she’s officially out of Disney mode (for now).

Halle Bailey Lets Her Hair Down

“Y’all are stupid,” she boldly declares as those around her chatter. Then, pointing at DDG, Bailey yells, “This n*gga get y’all every mother*cking time!” Her tone becomes increasingly loud with every word, and her man can’t help but laugh as she pushes her finger toward his face. “Y’ALL ARE STUPID!” the “Do It” hitmaker adds one more time for effect.

While the moment is undeniably hilarious, many have left replies suggesting that it would’ve been wise for DDG to leave the moment out when editing his vlog. “Why would he post this private moment video? She’s currently in a whole Disney movie,” one of them pondered. “I hope she sees this for what it is. He don’t care about her, this a clout move on his part,” they further speculated. Have you seen The Little Mermaid yet? If yes, tell us your thoughts on the film in the comments. Afterward, check out our recent story on Halle Bailey’s trip to the theatre to watch herself on the big screen in disguise at the link below.

Halle Bailey Jumps For Joy When Seeing DDG Before Covering Him In Kisses For TikTok

Yesterday (May 25), Halle Bailey’s big moment finally came as Disney’s The Little Mermaid hit theatres all around the world. After facing racist backlash over the casting decision for months now, the 23-year-old is shutting haters up with her heart-warming performance that’s already earning plenty of praise. Ahead of the project’s public debut, Bailey and her cast members travelled around the world on a press tour, which she’s obviously happy to be wrapping up based on her latest TikTok.

On Thursday, her profile lit up with a new video soundtracked to a remixed clip of Beyoncé happily singing about being back in the company of Jay-Z. “I am going to see my husband / I’m happy, I’m happy, to see my husband,” the Houston native croons on the viral track. For her part, Bailey synced it with a clip of her jumping for joy while approaching her boyfriend, DDG, who’s been incredibly supportive throughout her time as Ariel.

Halle Bailey is Happy to See Her “Husband”

After the young couple shares a sweet embrace in the middle of a crowd, Halle excitedly plants a string of kisses on his face, which the rapper happily receives. “On my last day of press like… 🤣🤭😉,” the “Do It” songstress wrote in her caption. The heartwarming moment comes just months after fans speculated that she and DDG were ready to call it quits.

Bailey has made it clear that people on social media cause more problems in her relationship than there actually are, as many longtime fans feel entitles to an opinion on every move that she makes. As a result, the Atlanta native prefers to mostly stay off of the internet – or at least avoid reading comments on her relationship – in favour of spending time in the real world. Halle Bailey On Dating DDG: “I Have To Step Away From [Social Media] & Live In The Real World”

Just like her character in The Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey prefers to live in the real world. In a recent interview ahead of the film’s premiere next week, the Atlanta-born artist spoke candidly about her relationship with DDG, and how constantly being bombarded with the opinions of strangers on social media can be troubling to her. Rather than doom-scroll through all the drama, Bailey prefers to log off and spend time focusing on the things in front of her.

“The biggest thing I’ve learned in dating when it comes to dating in the public eye, is that everybody’s gonna have an opinion about you, whether it’s good or bad” she reflected. “I’ve had this since I was younger. I think because I’ve grown up, kind of in the public eye, people think they have this sort of… I don’t know, that they can say what they feel about my life. Like they do with everyone in the public eye,” the 23-year-old further explained. “But I’ve realized, for me, I just go with my heart.”

Halle Bailey Discusses DDG Relationship

The “Do It” hitmaker’s approach to life is to follow her heart, and “cherish what makes [her] happy.” One way that she’s able to do that and keep her mindset in a positive space is by taking breaks from being online. “It’s hard when you’re in the public eye because social media is also a part of your work, it’s a big part of what I do! I have to set healthy boundaries for myself, ‘cuz just like anyone, if you see all these people saying whatever they want about you, your life, what you choose to decide… That could take a toll on anyone, so I just have to choose to step aside and not look at any of that.”

“Just live in the real world,” the Disney starlet added. “That’s what makes me happy.” Do you ship Halle Bailey and DDG as a couple? Let us know in the comments, and tap back in with HNHH later for more music/pop culture news updates.

DDG Remixed ‘I’m Geekin’ With Some New Assistance From Luh Tyler On The Added Verses

DDG has put a new spin on his “I’m Geekin” song by dropping an added remix with Luh Tyler.

“Pull up in Maybach, yeah, we finna swerve (Skrrt) / Like my bitch stick with a whole lot of curve / They payin’ the kid just to say all these words / Gotta go drop them bands, tryna get you a verse,” Tyler raps through the second verse.

“I’m countin’ pape’ while you sleep, countin’ sheep / Tell your b*tch pour me up, I ain’t sippin’ no tea / Tell that boy tie his lace, ain’t no trippin’ on me / In a Wraith, slidin’ round, b*tch, I’m with DDG,” he adds.

DDG also adds his new third verse after, even tossing a namedrop in for his collaborator. “I heard Luh Tyler wanna f*ck with one of my exes,” he said, before taking some time to comment on his haters. “I be in the blogs, topic of discussion / They say I’m a dog, always gon’ be somethin’ / I do somethin’ positive, they don’t discuss it / But when it be negative, them people love it, huh?”

Meanwhile, the original song continues to rack up streams on various platforms, with this likely giving it another added boost of popularity.

Halle Bailey & DDG Are All Smiles In Sweet New Couple Photo

Just a few months ago, it looked as though Halle Bailey and DDG might be calling it quits. Around Valentine’s Day, rumours began brewing about trouble in paradise, which were only made worse by the YouTuber’s ex, Rubi Rose, sharing alleged receipts of their interesting DMs. He went on to write a song about the situation, called “Way Too Petty,” before also addressing all of the gossip in a video on his channel. “Y’all know me deep down, and y’all know I’m a good n*gga. I always been positive, ain’t that right?” DDG reminded his fans.

Regardless of how messily things played out on social media, he and Bailey appear to have worked through their problems. They attended Gucci’s runway presentation during Milan Fashion Week at the end of February, and have since made several appearances on each other’s social media profiles. On Friday (April 28), an image of the young lovers smiling together in a luscious green park began circulating online, proving that they look happier than ever after a few weeks of turmoil.

Halle Bailey and Her Man

While DDG kept it casual in a white tee and black pants, The Little Mermaid actress brought in some sunshine with her outfit, donning a bright yellow three-piece set. She looks undeniably adorable, though the angle the snapshot was taken at has some internet sleuths speculating about pregnancy. “I’m not gonna say it or even ask,” one of the most-liked comments on the post reads, proving that many are seeing the same thing. “Everyone saying pregnant lmao. Maybe she bloated, damn 😂😂😂,” someone else wrote.

It seems highly unlikely that the 23-year-old is with child, though we’ll wait for her to confirm or deny the speculation herself. Interestingly, her beau trolled the world on April Fools Day with a pregnancy announcement, initially shocking some into believing that he and the Atlanta native are actually starting a family together. If the rumours are untrue now, perhaps it’s in the cards for them in the future. Do you think DDG and Halle Bailey are endgame? DDG Is Back With “I’m Geekin” Single & Music Video: Stream

DDG’s love life may have faced a few rough patches so far in 2023, but that hasn’t stopped the Michigan native from delivering new music to his fans. His first single of the year, “Way Too Petty,” was actually inspired by his Twitter beef with ex-girlfriend Rubi Rose, which went down while he was seemingly having problems with current partner Halle Bailey. Following that, the YouTuber also gave us “Reminiscing” and “This Summer,” setting the vibe for the energy he’ll be bringing over the coming months.

Today (April 21), DDG returns with “I’m Geekin,” a short and sweet single accompanied by a Ronnie Lewis-directed music video. In the footage, we see the 25-year-old living lavishly with his family as they catch a flight on a fancy private jet. As expected, his lyrics mostly reflect on the lifestyle he’s built for himself since rising to fame. “I’m on a whole ‘nother level, I’m geekin’ / You think you f*ckin’ with me? Boy, you tweakin’,” DDG cautions any potential ops on the chorus.

DDG Taps Ronnie Lewis to Direct “I’m Geekin” Visual

It remains unclear if “I’m Geekin” and the multi-talent’s other recent singles will appear on a project, or are simply solo efforts. His last LP, It’s Not Me It’s You, arrived last year with a slew of noteworthy appearances from the likes of Polo G, Gunna, Kevin Gates, and more. He later returned with a deluxe cut of the album, which boasted four new titles on the tracklist and more guest features coming from Coi Leray, Offset, and finally, Lakeyah.

The year before last, we heard the Pontiac-born entertainer’s Die 4 Respect EP in tandem with OG Parker, which earned the dup plenty of praise. Watch DDG’s “I’m Geekin” music video on YouTube above, or add the single to your playlist on Spotify/Apple Music. Afterward, tell us your thoughts in the comments below. Blueface Squares Up With DDG While Swae Lee Moderates

Blueface is an artist who knows how to maneuver around social media. Overall, his rise to fame was largely due to Twitter and his propensity to go viral. He came onto the scene with a unique sound and a flow that was chasing the beat. Although some hated this stylistic choice, others loved it, which led to his popularity. Since that time, Blue has focused more on the entertainment side of things. He has a reality show with Chrisean Rock, and previously, he had a reality show on OnlyFans.

Subsequently, he has been getting involved in the world of professional boxing. As many of you know, boxing has proven to be lucrative for entertainers. People like Jake Paul, Lamar Odom, and Le’Veon Bell have all shown quite a bit of talent in the ring. Consequently, Blueface has joined the sport as well, where he has even clinched a win. Now, he has a new fight on the horizon, and he is willing to go up against anyone. He is fearless, and it seems like his fellow rappers are aware of this.

Blueface Vs. DDG

The latest rapper to seemingly challenge Blueface in the realm of combat is none other than DDG. However, we should note that this was simply a staged exhibition for social media. Although, the presence of Swae Lee as the referee certainly brings it all together. In the video above, you can see Blue and DDG square up on the beach. While they throw some punches, they are weak and not made to actually connect with anything. It was all for fun, but it still had fans theorizing about who would actually win.

For the most part, fans thought Blueface would be the likely victor of this fight. However, there was quite a bit of love for DDG who has also shown some skill in the boxing ring. Either way, Blueface will have to win his next fight before he even thinks about stepping in the ring again. Let us know who you believe would be victorious here, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

DDG Trolls Twitter With Fake Halle Bailey Pregnancy Announcement On April Fool’s Day

DDG may have admitted that he is indeed “way too petty” on his latest single, but fans of his girlfriend, singer and actress Halle Bailey, are adding that he also jokes way too much. For the large part, most musicians held back from participating in any over-the-top April Fool’s Day pranks. But apparently Usher and DDG didn’t get the memo.

While Usher’s was a short-lived professional prank that he would be joined on stage on April 1 by his former collaborator Beyoncé within seconds, he revealed that it wasn’t going to happen. On the other hand, DDG’s prank took things a bit further.

In a tweet posted at 9:53 am, the rapper uploaded a picture of an ultrasound with the caption “can’t wait to be your dad 😭😭❤.” Although he didn’t explicitly state who the expecting mother was, fans assumed that the mommy-to-be was The Little Mermaid actress, sending social media into a spiral.

Fans quickly headed over to Bailey’s social media profiles to see if they had missed anything. But her last post was of herself in a bikini with her mid-drift exposed on vacation, celebrating her birthday on March 27.

Later, just before 2 pm, the rapper returned to Twitter to confirm that it was just an April Fool’s Day prank. DDG is known for trolling and even pulling pranks on fans. In fact, there’s a long-running conspiracy theory prank that the rapper continues to do, known as the “real DDG voice.”

Even DDG’s family isn’t shielded from his trolling, as shown across his YouTube page.

So, no, Halle Bailey is not pregnant.
