Kevin Gates Talks Splitting Finances, Calls Wealth “Of The Heart” His Priority

Rapper Kevin Gates recently took to Instagram to share his thoughts surrounding splitting finances in relationships. In the Instagram Live hosted by Gates, a viewer asked to hear his thoughts on her “going 50/50 with [her] man.” Gates responded by sharing his personal experience, saying that he has been with a woman who was able to provide him with something money can’t buy.

The rapper begins, “I have been in a relationship where the woman provided me intangible wealth.” He elaborated, saying there “was no amount of money that could pay for” what she gave him. “[The woman] did everything to make [his life] peaceful and it motivated [him] and allowed [him] to focus and make more money,” Gates explained. About the relationship, he says “50/50 wasn’t half of the rent, but she provided a place of peace to me in order to reach my highest potential.” He cites, “different types of wealth,” saying he doesn’t “look at wealth as something that’s of the pocket.” The rapper claims he looks at it instead as “of the heart and of the mind.”

Gates Puts Love Above Money

Following Gates’ story, a viewer commented, “Especially if she’s the mother of your kid.” He responded, “I’m gonna be honest with you, all my children’s mothers is good.” The rapper additionally discussed “hearing dudes talk about baby mama drama.” He says that it’s not something he personally deals with. “I dont have that problem,” the rapper shares. “I don’t have no bad relationships with none of my children’s mothers,” he revealed. Gates went on to say that, “They all love me and support me,” calling himself “very very blessed and fortunate.”

In April, Gates also shared in an interview that he prefers hunting for his own meat over buying it at the grocery store. He added that his love for hunting is also good for his mental health. “It takes pure focus. It’s almost like meditation,” the rapper shared. He added, “You got to be in sync with it.” Gates then went on to explain his appreciation and respect for the animals he hunts. “I know I’m not going to get instant results,” he shares. “I know I got to put work in… to cultivate it and develop it.”

More recently, the 25-year-old used her Twitter platform to share some thoughts about modern dating, seemingly hinting that she hasn’t been getting the treatment she desires from men. “I feel like the man is supposed to pursue the woman,” Rubi vented in a post from this past weekend.

“[I don’t] text/call guys first, ever,” she went on to add, before clarifying, “Unless it’s my man and we locked in. Am I childish or that’s how it’s supposed to be?” In response to this, plenty of followers wrote back with their take on Rubi’s inquiry. “It’s childish,” one user confirmed. “You have to project what you want to receive. It’s not about gender roles or power trips, no one is going to pursue anyone who comes off like they’re not into it or don’t need anybody.” Rather than getting defensive, the “Pretty MF” artist replied, “I like this take.”

Elsewhere, Blueface also joined in on the conversation, though his message was far less positive. “That’s because she never seen a Bible, Lord bless her heart,” the Californian wrote in response to a repost of Rubi’s message. On his own profile, he later added, “The Bible says men should never chase women” before launching into a lengthy rant both praising his first baby mama, Jaidyn Alexis, and subliminally bashing his soon-to-be second, Chrisean Rock.

Elon Musk Is Considering A Twitter Dating App

Elon Musk shared his response to a tweet suggesting a dating feature be added to his newly-acquired social media platform, Twitter. When content creator Steven Mark Ryan of the Youtube channel Solving The Money Problem shared a Tweet suggesting the new feature, Musk quickly replied. The tech mogul called the idea “interesting,” adding that the feature could potentially lead to “jobs too.” Ryan’s tweet called for Musk to consider the feature’s potential, claiming it “Might actually save humanity from extinction.” The YouTuber’s tweet also called the idea “Very low hanging fruit,” adding, “Twinder would be HUGE.”

Ryan offered to “make an entire video on how this opt-in app would work and why it would be 10x better than conventional dating apps.” He also called Twitter “the EVERYTHING app.” The content creator’s tweet came as a reply to Musk’s tweet expressing concern for “population collapse.” Musk’s expression of concern for a population crisis comes after he already made public claims that he believes “a collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.”

Musk Adding Features To Twitter

Since acquiring Twitter in 2022, he made changes to the platform’s verification process. Now, users can pay to become verified on Twitter, which many users feel is counterintuitive. The change in the site’s verification feature has also led to various public figures having blue checkmarks removed from their profiles. Moreover, several public figures have spoken out about Musk’s decision to change the feature. Artists like Doja Cat, Lil Nas X and more have expressed annoyance for their verification being taken away unjustifiably.

Musk continually faces a great amount of backlash for the changes he made to the platform thus far. The billionaire has also shared his plans to add new features to the platform, including voice and video calling features. Avril Lavigne wore an $80,000 custom diamond necklace that Tyga gifted to her in Manchester ahead of her sold-out show in the city on Saturday. The statement pendant features 50 carats of white diamonds, black diamonds, and pink sapphires. Jeweler Eric Mavani. designed the piece. She completed the outfit with VETEMENTS x New Rock platform boots and a black T-shirt dress with an orange logo on the front and her name on the arm.

Lavigne’s tour of the U.K. and Europe was originally scheduled for 2020 but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. She’ll be wrapping up the series of shows on May 10 in London.

Lavigne has been dating Tyga since calling off her engagement to Mod Sun, earlier this year. A source for PEOPLE recently reported that the two are “very into each other,” but also aren’t rushing into a relationship. “They’re still not exclusive and just getting to know each other. They’re taking things very slowly to be on the safe side and really get to know each other before diving into something serious,” the source said. “But they are spending a lot of time together. He’s about to get locked in working on new music.”

At the time of their split, Mod Sun said that the breakup came as a surprise to him. He addressed the situation in a statement on Instagram, thanking his fans for helping him get through the difficult period. “In 1 week my entire life completely changed. Ne-Yo is no stranger to the struggles of finding that special someone. While his glaringly public divorce from ex-wife Crystal Renay is final, the R&B singer has found solace in the single life. TMZ recently caught up with Ne-Yo at LAX and asked him about his current love life. Ne-Yo told the gossip blog that he’s in a happy place these days. Additionally, the singer says it’s all about the single life right now and flying free as a bird.
