50 Cent has filed a motion to dismiss his defamation case against his ex, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Back in March, 50 Cent was accused of rape on Instagram by Daphne Joy Narvaez, the mother of his 12-year-old second son, Sire Jackson. In the post, she wrote, “Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on.” Shortly thereafter, 50 filed a lawsuit for defamation against Narvaez, claiming that she made up the accusations to prevent him from seeking sole custody of Sire, and to distract from her involvement in separate legal dramas surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was accused of sexual assault by a former producer.

50 did not give reason for his request to have the suit dismissed, only that it be withdrawn “without prejudice,” which would allow him to file again at a later date. Neither 50 nor Daphne responded to the Times’ request for comment. Before moving to dismiss the case, 50 demanded $1 million in damages and the removal of the damaging posts; Narvaez has already deleted the posts, although she said she would secure representation to handle the allegations made about her in Lil Rod’s suit against Diddy.

50 Cent may have plenty of jokes for Diddy, but the rapper has had legal issues of his own in 2024. He was accused of rape and physical abuse by his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy Narvaez, back in March. 50 Cent responded by filing a defamation lawsuit against Narvaez, in addition to denying all claims outright. The defamation suit has lasted throughout the summer, but the rapper has decided to pull the plug on the whole thing. According to TMZ, 50 Cent is dropping the defamation suit against his ex.

This is a complete turnaround from the 50 Cent who adamantly denied Narvaez’s accusations in March. The rapper issued a statement criticizing his ex for besmirching his reputation in a way that could impact his livelihood, and consequently, their shared child. 50 described Narvaez’s accusations as a “purposeful attempt to destroy his personal and business reputation.” He also felt as though his ex was trying to ruin the custody battle the two were embroiled in at the time. 50 voiced a concern over being unable to see his “minor son” due to Narvaez’s “false” claims.

The decision was confirmed on September 10. TMZ obtained legal documents in which 50 Cent asked the defamation suit to be dismissed “without prejudice.” A judge has reportedly yet to sign off on the request, but there’s no outstanding legal reason why there would be a problem. Neither 50 nor Daphne Joy Narvaez have commented on this latest decision. In fact, both parties have gone out of their way to avoid the topic in recent months. Daphne Joy Narvaez deleted the original Instagram post accusing 50 Cent of abuse back in July. 50 seemingly returned the favor by refusing to pursue legal action.

The defamation lawsuit is settled. The custody battle between 50 Cent and Daphne Joy Narvaez, however, is not. 50 is seeking sole custody of their son, Sire, due to claims made about Narvaez in a lawsuit against Diddy. The ongoing lawsuit, filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, claimed that Daphne Joy Narvaez spent time as a sex worker for Diddy. 50 wants sole custody as a means of keeping his son protected. This latest development signals that authorities are far from finished with their investigation into Diddy, with the new subpoena issued just weeks ago. As the probe continues, the legal landscape for the Bad Boy CEO becomes increasingly complex, with potential implications for his personal and professional life.

As of now, both Diddy and Daphne Joy have yet to publicly respond to the latest subpoena and the ongoing investigation.

He quickly denied the accusations, also alleging that they were merely a response to him seeking custody of their son. In May, he sued her for defamation, claiming that the accusations damaged his reputation, custody case, and more. Now, TMZ reports that she’s removed the post containing the allegations from social media. The outlet notes that it’s unclear exactly when she removed the post or why, though sources say it has nothing to do with the defamation lawsuit. Reportedly, he still plans to move forward with the case, and they haven’t agreed on a settlement.

50 Cent Sued His Ex Daphne Joy For Defamation After She Accused Him Of Abuse And Rape

50 Cent didn’t appreciate being accused of rape and abuse by his ex Daphne Joy Narvaez, filing suit against her for defamation. The former couple shares a son, Sire, and in court documents 50 filed on Monday according to TMZ, he believes Narvaez made the accusations in order to prevent him from getting sole custody.

50 is notoriously litigious and petty, so it should come as no surprise that he is suing his ex, but according to the filings, he gave her “ample time” to retract her statements. They read, “Despite being given ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation, Ms. Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a ‘rapist’.”

Naturally, he couldn’t resist getting a shot in at his beleaguered peer Diddy, jabbing, “The motivation behind this appears to be Ms. Narvaez’s unfortunate entanglement and misguided loyalty to Mr. Combs, who we believe to be underwriting this attack and whom Mr. Jackson has been warning Ms. Narvaez and others about for many years.”

50 had been in the midst of a weeks-long mocking of his business rival when Narvaez was mentioned in Lil Rod’s ongoing lawsuit against Diddy. Rod’s suit claimed that Daphne was on retainer with the embattled producer, prompting 50 to call her a “sex worker” in trolling social posts — which he has since deleted.

She responded with a laundry list of accusations, writing, “Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me,” and alleging that he never even sees Sire, despite her living a mile away. “You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on,” she wrote. “You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father to preserve our family with these last and final false claims made against me. After repeatedly posting about Joy’s predicament on social media, Joy snapped back at 50 with a lengthy post accusing him of abuse and assault. She also accused 50 Cent of being a bad father, suggesting that she moved herself and their son Sire within a mile of 50’s residence in New York, only for 50 to visit ten times in the span of 2 years.

While it remains unclear if there is any validity to these claims, Joy also posted a response to Lil Rod’s sex work accusations on the same day, writing, “I am deeply hurt by the lies in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit. Diddy’s Ex Daphne Joy Poses For Bikini Photoshoot Amid Lawsuit Allegations

It’s been a turbulent time recently for both legendary rap mogul Diddy and almost everyone else in his orbit. That included Daphne Joy, who was named in a lawsuit that also discussed Meek Mill, Yung Miami, and more. Joy in particular was accused of essentially being a sex worker for Combs. Those allegations got far more serious when it was revealed that he was under investigation by the federal government for allegations of sex trafficking. Two of his properties were raided and his private jet was intercepted last month.

He took to Instagram nearly every single day for months sharing any kind of anti-Diddy content he can get his hands on. That has also extended to anybody else who is pulled into the rap mogul’s orbit. 50 has repeatedly posted about Stevie J, even as he’s received threats of violence and a challenge to a fight from Stevie in response.

Unsurprisingly, Diddy also used the opportunity to go after his ex and the mother of his son Sire, Daphne Joy. Last month, producer Lil Rod filed a lawsuit against Diddy that made some of the most viral claims to date against the rap mogul.
