Young Thug’s Lawyer Speaks On Recent YSL Deals

Given recent news of Gunna’s release from jail, many are wondering how the rest of the YSL case will develop. Meanwhile, people are unsure whether this bodes well for its boss, Young Thug, or if he will face increased consequences. His lawyer, Brian Steel, spoke about these plea deals within YSL and how they might actually be hurting him. According to Steel, law enforcement will take advantage of people seeking release in exchange for information incriminating Thugger (Jeffery Williams).

Steel stated, “When they want a deal, law enforcement officers are all too eager to say, ‘Well, tell us about Mr. Williams. Was he involved in this, what do you know about it? That’s the problem with this case. It’s coming from the word of people who are getting deals to say ‘Yeah, he was there. I saw him around’ or ‘He gave the order’ or ‘I heard from someone else he gave the order.’ That’s what this case is about. You’re not gonna hear any confession of Jeffery Williams.”

Furthermore, Gunna spoke about his recent plea deal and explained the circumstances. He wrote, “While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.” YSL co-founder Walter Murphy also took a plea deal.

Meanwhile, Young Thug’s legal battles took stranger turns indeed this week. Indeed, a naked man boasting “Free Young Thug” disrupted the “Digits” rapper’s hearing via Zoom on Thursday (December 15th). Moreover, the hearing was to suppress evidence in YSL’s RICO case.

While authorities scrambled to turn courtroom monitors off, they already had delayed the hearing by several hours given tech issues. Still, Thug attended the hearing in-person for the first time since his arrest, and he scored a big win. Judge Glanville prohibited prosecutors from using mobile phones and other evidence taken from the rapper’s home with no search warrant in 2015. Moreover, prosecutors intended to present said evidence at the January trial. Needless to say, the Zoom bomber brought a much less helpful surprise.

What do you think of Steel’s remarks and the YSL plea deals? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to HNHH for the latest case updates.

Slimelife Shawty Released In Third YSL Plea Deal

Recent releases and negotiations indicate that the YSL gang indictment saga may be entering a new phase of more freedom. Many of the Atlanta label’s members are doing time and accused of racketeering, gun and drug distribution, and other charges. Meanwhile, fans were ecstatic about the news of Gunna’s release this week. Also, officials also freed YSL rapper Slimelife Shawty on a plea deal, the third so far in this case.

Moreover, Shawty requested an Alford plea, which is the same one Gunna’s team employed. The 24-year-old pleaded guilty as a first offender to one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act. Meanwhile, the court will sentence him to ten years: one year commuted to time served, and nine of probation.

Moreover, Slimelife Shawty grew up on Cleveland Ave, the same neighborhood that Young Thug, Lil Keed, and Lil Got did. However, he’s with Alamo Records, and made waves Keed’s viral track “Blicky Blicky.” Shawty’s attorney reportedly stated that most charges he faced of “in furtherance of this conspiracy” were not criminal. Later, Shawty posted on his Instagram story to share the good news- and clarify it.

“Yea I’m home,” he wrote via text on a black background. “Ain have to snitch to get here dickhead . I admitted young slime life was a gang cus it ain’t illegal for no group to be a gang look it up that don’t hurt nobody anybody can be a gang , plus the founder already admitted it stupid. what I pose to say if a founder admitted it. what I den do was say Yes it’s a fact people in ysl commit crimes like murder and etc cus ion no nun bout that .”

Similarly, Gunna’s statement of release clarified that he wasn’t speaking against his crew. “While I have agreed to always be truthful,” he remarked, “I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.” While his statement, along with court footage, has received a wealth of positive reactions from other rappers, some were critical.

Kelsey Harris Tapes Played In Court, Says She Saw Tory Lanez Shoot Megan

The trial involving Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kelsey Nicole Harris is playing out like a soap opera. No one knew what to expect when it was first announced that Harris would testify for the prosecution. She and her former best friend Megan Thee Stallion have been at odds ever since the rapper was shot in July 2020. There were diss tracks, Livestreams, and insults thrown—but it was believed that when the trial began, the world would receive answers.

That hasn’t necessarily been the case, especially after Harris took the stand. Court reporters who were watching the trial firsthand stated Harris testified she couldn’t remember much of anything, particularly as it pertained to Tory’s actions that fateful evening. However, because she claimed the prosecution pressured her during her interview with them, a judge allowed the 80-minute conversation to be played in court.

Harris testified that she didn’t see Lanez with a gun, nor did she see him shoot Megan. Yet, on the audio, Harris went into specific detail about what she witnessed that evening. She claimed that Lanez and Megan were arguing, and then, Lanez referred to the women as “b*tches and hoes.”

Cuniff reports that Harris did say Lanez threatened to shoot her. She responded, “If you shoot me, you shoot me, I guess it’s my time to go.” The fight shifted to “artistry” as Megan insulted Lanez by saying he’s only famous for being on a Jack Harlow remix.

Harris said, “I can’t remember what he was telling her, but they started hitting each other with their careers as artists.” Megan reportedly got out of the vehicle and walked away, but Harris didn’t know a shooting occurred until the second or third shot. She claimed she saw Lanez shooting at Megan over the passenger side door.

Harris also told prosecutors that she was upset with Megan for not publicly defending her. There were online rumors that Harris was responsible and she believed the rapper should have come forward.

“Kelsey said she told Meg that people were threatening her and her family,” reporter Meghann Cuniff tweeted. “And articles about the LAPD officers stopping them at gunpoint and arresting both Tory and Kelsey were fueling speculation. But when Meg ‘made that post, there was no protection.’”

“Kelsey tells prosecutors about Meg, ‘As my best friend, she could have said something.’” Adding, “‘She left me in the hot seat…So I’m upset because she didn’t clear my name.’ She laments that ‘people think I took hush money.’ ‘It’s not fair, because I didn’t betray her,’ Kelsey says.”

6ix9ine Weighs In On Gunna Taking A Plea Deal

Upon Gunna’s release from jail on Wednesday (December 14), many in the hip-hop community are reacting to the situation.

One artist who has been noticeably quiet up until now is 6ix9ine.

Taking to his Instagram account yesterday (December 15), the “KEKE” rapper is explicitly breaking his silence. In a since-deleted post, he shares his take on Gunna’s release from jail following a plea deal.

“Just stfu and listen I know ya don’t wanna accept it[.] Your man is fighting for his life in court on a gang RICO,” he starts the caption off, before exposing the conversation between the “Drip Too Hard” rapper and the judge.

“Judge: You are aware YSL is a gang correct. Fat ass Gunna: Yes [ma’am].
Judge: ONLYYYYY you and Jeffrey are in the car and the police find a handgun and drugs. This didn’t belong to you correct? Fat ass Gunna: Yes [ma’am],” he writes.

“Go ahead and make your 1,000,0000 excuses. I stand on whatever I do or did. That’s why I’m still walking on this earth AND NOTHING EVER HAPPENS TO ME. I am him p*ssy. Real n****s getting shot and kicked in [their] face, can’t be me,” he adds.

The video in question simply shows Gunna in the courtroom, accepting his plea deal earlier this week.

However, 6ix9ine is alluding to the fact that it sounds like the 29-year-old is snitching on his fellow YSL label mate, Young Thug, in the process.

Regardless of the disgraced rapper’s thoughts on the situation, Gunna’s lawyer is speaking out to set the record straight. In an Instagram post yesterday (December 15), Steve Sadow says this widespread theory is untrue.

“Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail. He has said nothing and is not cooperating. His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies!!!” he wrote.

Additionally, there’s been a positive development in the upcoming YSL RICO case. Just yesterday, the judge dismissed some key evidence against Thugger.

His legal team was correspondingly successful in showing the judge that the evidence collected from a 2015 raid was “unconstitutional.”

Yaya Mayweather Sentenced For Stabbing NBA Youngboy’s BM

A judge finally handed down a sentence in Yaya Mayweather’s 2020 stabbing case. Floyd Mayweather’s daughter will serve six years probation after she was found guilty of stabbing the mother of NBA Youngboy’s child.

Police arrested 22-year-old Iyanna Mayweather in Houston in 2020. According to prosecutors, Yaya reportedly showed up to YB’s home in Houston when she saw the rapper’s baby mother, Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, inside of the residence. From there, she reportedly claimed to be YB’s fiancée, picked up two knives, and charges at Jacobs.

Jacobs sustained injuries on her arm from the scrap between her and Yaya. An ambulance rushed Jacobs to the hospital where she underwent surgery for multiple lacerations to her arm. Authorities said she was in stable condition and recovered since.

On Thursday, the judge gave Yaya Mayweather a Deferred Adjudication of Guilt along with her six-year probation sentence. She pled guilty to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Yaya and Youngboy are no longer together but they do share a child, Kentrell Jr.

NBA Youngboy hasn’t publicly discussed the scenario since it occurred. However, he’s clearly in a productive and positive space these days. The Baton Rouge rapper delivered a spree of projects since August’s The Last Slimeto. He dropped off Realer 2, Ma’ I Got A Family, 3800 Degrees, and most recently, his collaborative effort with Quando Rondo, 3860. At the same time, he’s also unloaded a slew of compilation projects uplifting the Never Broke Again Team throughout the year. On top of that, he recently released “Military” with Rich Gang on Thursday night.

Additionally, Amazon and AMP partnered with YB for the launch of his own radio show. The show launched earlier this month as a promotional tool before his next studio album.

Clearly, NBA Youngboy is revving up for some major plays in the new year. We’ll keep you posted on more info regarding YB’s next studio album.

YSL RICO Case Update: Young Thug Gets Judge To Dismiss Key Evidence

It appears as though things may be starting to look up for Young Thug.

After appearing in court for the first time since the release of his fellow YSL crew members Gunna and Walter Murphy yesterday (December 15), he’s receiving some good news.

The pre-trial hearing saw Thug heading one step closer to his hopeful freedom. The Atlanta native and his legal team were successful in getting the judge to dismiss some key evidence from the case.

Some of the information that was allegedly set to be used against the “Best Friend” rapper was actually obtained illegally. In 2015, officers raided the Atlanta native’s home, obtaining evidence from cell phones in the process.

However, a judge later tossed the charges that followed, citing the raid as “unconstitutional.”

The 31-year-old’s lawyer won the appeal by pointing out that the seized devices were actually suppressed by a written order back in 2017. Additionally, they are guilty of failing to return Thugger’s property to him. As a result, the ruling of the evidence is that it’s now inadmissible within the case.

On Wednesday (December 13), the world was witness to Gunna’s official release from jail after taking a plea deal. Following suit, Young Thug’s YSL co-founder, Walter Murphy, is doing the same. He was also granted release earlier this week.

In both deals, they each plead guilty to one charge against them, while ultimately maintaining their innocence. Additionally, the WUNNA rapper’s lawyer has come forward to clear the air surrounding rumors his client snitched in order to get out.

“Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail. He has said nothing and is not cooperating. His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies!!!” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Although the “Best Friend” rapper remains behind bars, it appears as though this is a positive development in the case.

Megan Thee Stallion Reveals How Tory Lanez Trial Impacts Her BF Pardison Fontaine

If there’s anything we’ve learned from watching Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez’s long-awaited trial play out over the past few days, it’s that this whole situation has been anything but easy for the Houston native. From the injuries she sustained during the traumatic incident to having to recount all the details on the stand in front of the courtroom all these years later, the rapper has had to put on a seriously brave face in the midst of chaos.

Among the details shared by the 27-year-old during her Tuesday (December 13) testimony was an update on her current relationship. As you may recall, Thee Stallion has been dating fellow recording artist Pardison Fontaine for over two years now.

“I feel disgusted, I feel dirty, my own partner is embarrassed,” she admitted on the stand earlier this week. “I can’t even be happy, I don’t want to talk to friends or family.”

Those who have been closely keeping tabs on the ongoing trial know that elsewhere in her comments, Megan admitted to previously having been intimate with Lanez. Prior to the trial, she had denied being intimate with the “Say It” singer. Now, however, the truth is coming to light.

Additionally, names like Ben Simmons and DaBaby are linked to both Thee Stallion and her former best friend, Kelsey Harris. Ultimately, the former seemingly denied the allegations with a clip of Rick Ross on his Instagram Story.

The latter, however, substantiated such claims before with his own song, “BOOGEYMAN.”

Aside from putting a strain on her romantic relationship with Pardi, the “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker has also found her mental health struggling in the years since the shooting. So much so, in fact, that she’s been experiencing suicidal thoughts.

“I don’t want to live,” she told the court. “I wish he had just shot and killed me if I had to go through this torture.”

Kelsey Harris’ Texts About Tory Lanez Allegedly “Dragging” Her Admitted In Trial: Report

The case against Tory Lanez is reading more like a soap opera, thanks to the surprising testimony from Kelsey Harris. Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend was one of four witnesses to the July 2020 shooting. Lanez is accused of firing the shots that injured the Houston hitmaker. However, he has pointed the finger at Harris, saying she shot Megan following a fight.

Today (December 15), Harris took the stand for the second day in a row, and her testimony this time around was just as confusing as previously. According to courthouse reporters, Harris testified that she lied about Lanez assaulting her because the prosecution pressured her. Additionally, she stated she learned from Megan’s “team” that the rapper wasn’t shot but only stepped on glass.

“Maybe the most significant development this morning at Tory Lanez trial came after Kelsey Harris left the stand,” wrote reporter James Queally. “The prosecution is seeking permission to play her entire recorded interview from September 2022.”

“On cross-examination, defense attorney George Mgdesyan began to ask questions implying the prosecution had pressured Harris to testify,” he added. “And DDA Alexander Bott is arguing this has opened the door to playing the tape to defend the integrity of the prosecution.”

Also, the doctor who performed emergency surgery on Megan immediately following the shooting showed X-rays to the court.

On the stand, Harris was reminded by prosecutors that her immunity doesn’t cover perjury. She initially said she saw Lanez shoot Megan and texted the rapper’s bodyguard to help. Yet, Harris now denies witnessing anything.

She now claims she heard gunshots but didn’t see the shooting occur. She also denied she saw Megan limping. Harris told the defense attorney that she wasn’t contacted by Lanez or his lawyers, and she didn’t feel intimidated by them. She also denied being paid hush money, but yesterday (December 14), Harris admitted that Lanez did offer to give her $1 million. She said he didn’t mention a shooting.

Because she called the prosecution’s intent into question, a judge did allow specific text messages to be entered. In one sent to Megan on the evening of the shooting, Harris told her former friend that her back and neck hurt “from the fighting & him dragging me out of the car by my hair.”

She reportedly said she sent those texts due to “panic” and didn’t recall sending them. Now, the world speculates not only about the outcome of this trial but if Harris will face charges in the future.

Meanwhile, Lanez’s defense is that Harris pulled the trigger and shot Megan. Both he and Harris were found with gunpowder residue.

YSL’s Co-Founder Takes Plea, Follows Gunna

It appears as though Gunna isn’t the only one involved in YSL’s RICO case to take a plea deal. Reports indicate that one of the crew’s co-founders, Walter Murhphy has done the same.

As a result, he was subsequently released from jail on Tuesday (December 13). While pleading guilty, Murphy admits to creating YSL with Young Thug 10 years ago, in 2012. Additionally, he pleads guilty to a single count of conspiracy to violate the RICO act.

Court documents allege that his new sentence is 10 years, with only one year commuted to time served and nine years of probation to follow. On the other hand, Gunna’s plea deal saw his sentence turn into five years with one year commuted to time served. The rest includes 500 hours of community service.

Part of the volunteering requires him to speak to young people about the dangers of gangs and gang violence in their communities.

The name of the deal that the WUNNA rapper is agreeing to is reportedly an Alford Plea. While he subsequently pleads guilty to one charge against him, he ultimately maintains his innocence.

As for Murphy, his plea deal includes a special condition in which he is to “testify truthfully in any further trial as it may become necessary,” according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Although these updates appear to be positive, Young Thug unfortunately remains locked up.

On Tuesday (December 13), the “Best Friend” rapper even received additional charges while awaiting the RICO trial. While they’re just misdemeanors for street racing, reckless driving, and speeding, they are still acting as obstacles in the way of his hopeful freedom. At this time, it’s still unknown whether or not Thugger is able to enter a similar deal.
