Drake Unveils “For All The Dogs” Album Cover, Drawn By His Son Adonis

It looks like we might be getting For All The Dogs this week all along, and fans are ecstatic at the news. Moreover, Drake just shared the cover art for his highly anticipated new album on Instagram, further fueling rumors that it’s right around the corner. Not only that, but he also revealed that the artwork has a special meaning and marks an important milestone in the 6 God’s life. None other than his own son Adonis drew the project’s cover, which is just about the most wholesome collaboration you could get between a musician and an artist. Even though it’s a simple image, die-hards are already speculating as to what vibes it’ll represent musically.

Furthermore, the cover is an outline of an animal- probably a dog, obviously, but vague and unique enough to be open to interpretation- on a black background. The outline’s filled out by imperfect white strokes, and the four-legged and long-eared creature’s only defining features are its menacing red eyes. As such, this hints at a harder, more aggressive, or downright scary sound from Drake this time around. Previous reports, though, indicated that we might get the old Drizzy on this project with a more R&B-oriented focus.

Drake’s For All The Dogs Cover

Regardless, we’re sure that For All The Dogs will follow the rest of Drake’s discography quite fittingly. If it’s more R&B-based, then it would mark a stark difference from his previous dance outing (Honestly, Nevermind) and his trap-rooted collaboration with 21 S*vage (Her Loss). On the other hand, fans still want more of the gritty and boisterous OVO boss material that projects like the latter exemplified so well. Either way, it’s exciting to know that we’re officially closer to the album’s release than we’ve ever been.

Meanwhile, amid a highly successful tour run, this seems like the perfect time to give fans some new material. In addition, he just broke the record for the rapper with the most monthly listeners in Spotify’s history, which Travis Scott had set just days ago. We’re sure that there are only more great things to come for the Canadian superstar, Adonis, and all their proverbial “dogs.” Log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Drake and For All The Dogs.

Teezo Touchdown Shares Cover & Release Date For New Album

Teezo Touchdown is without a doubt one of the most exciting artists working today, with so much vibrance, creativity, and versatility as a rapper, singer, and writer. While he’s gained a lot of fans in the past few years, there’s nothing like a new album to open up the gates for further stardom. Moreover, the Texas native recently announced the release date for his next project, How Do You Sleep At Night?, and shared its cover art. The new LP is scheduled to release on Friday, September 8, and it follows great singles like “5 O’Clock.” If you’ve never heard of Teezo before, join the Rid the Mid campaign and check him out before this drop.

Furthermore, the album’s cover art shows about four different versions of the metal-haired creative laying down on a bed in black-and-white. He seems to be wearing a mesh shirt on the cover, and didn’t remove the nails from his long hair before saying night-night. It’s quite a trippy image, with all the Teezo Touchdown depictions blurring into each other in trippy fashion. Overall, it’s an evocative and eye-catching image that hopefully represents the imaginative and genre-blurring talents that the 30-year-old proved to channel time and time again.

Teezo Touchdown’s How Do You Sleep At Night? Dropping On September 8

What’s more is that this seems like the perfect time to become a Teezo Touchdown fan if you’re not one already. Many listeners got their introduction to him thanks to “MODERN JAM,” a highlight off of Travis Scott’s massive new album UTOPIA. Teezo’s feature on that cut is reminiscent of André 3000’s acrobatic vocal inflections, with his own original charisma and vocal talents on full display. Maybe it’s a hot take, but he might just be the best feature on the whole project, because when has a Travis song ever had the energy that Teezo brought to the table?

Meanwhile, there are plenty of singles for you to enjoy and catch up on before How Do You Sleep At Night? drops. This will be a big year for him, and one that will likely put him at the forefront of chameleon-like musicians. Hopefully the album lives up to the hype. For more news and the latest updates on Teezo Touchdown, keep checking in with HNHH.

Chloe Bailey’s “fukumean” Gunna Cover Makes Her Akademiks’ Latest Target: “This S**t Trash”

Of the hip-hop bloggers creating content today, DJ Akademiks is perhaps best known for feuding with those he reports on. We’ve seen him take aim at various figures in the industry throughout his career. Lately, it’s been Yung Miami and Lil Baby feeling the heat. More recently, Chloe Bailey is on his mind too. The latter covered Gunna’s hit song “fukumean,” for her followers earlier this week. Now, Ak thinks she’s sliding into the YSL artist’s life since he’s out of jail and has a new album.

“You dipped on that ni**a soon as that ni**a got locked up,” the Off the Record host’s bizarre rant began. “I ain’t gon’ call you the b-word, ‘cuz I heard you down with Beyonce. I don’t want them getting mad at me,” he added. “Man, as soon as she thought Gunna was not coming back home, she was single. Single as a motherf**ker. I watched her in some s**t called ‘Swarm,’ getting her BACK BLOWN OUT,” Akademiks continued, referencing Bailey’s first-ever intimate scene opposite Damson Idris in Donald Glover’s series.

Akademiks Thinks Chloe Bailey is Wrong for Covering a Gunna Song

“Why wasn’t you on the jail call singing this s**t to that ni**a?” Akademiks asked, despite “fukumean” not being out. “Y’all remember when Gunna was looking like a crackhead in jail?” he continued to yell while pulling up old photos of the embattled lyricist. Elsewhere, Ak went on to accuse Bailey of always singing other people’s songs before falsely claiming her debut album only sold 3,000 units in its first week. He also said that he doesn’t understand the hype about Chloe, but couldn’t help but admit she is an attractive young woman.

Her In Pieces album’s first-week sales may not have satisfied Akademiks, but they’re good enough for the Atlanta-born singer to take her debut solo project out on two separate tours. She wrapped up the first round of dates back in the spring, and a few weeks ago, Chloe Bailey confirmed her second round of In Pieces concerts, taking place across North America this fall. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Chloe Bailey Covers Hit Gunna Song In New Video

Chloe Bailey’s raw vocal talent is something that has consistently impressed her fans throughout her entire career. Now, in a new video she posted to Twitter she is once again showing off her vocal chops. In the video she delivers an amazing performance of Gunna’s hit song “fukumean.” Unsurprisingly, fans in the comments were eating it up. “maybe he’ll add you to the remix ” reads one of the top comments under the post. “Oh you ate that up, we need an official remix like ASAP!” says another. The video has already racked up over 16k likes less than two hours after she originally posted it.

The cover comes just a few days after the song reached a new peak on the Hot 100. After debuting in the top 20 “fukumean” has climbed all the way up to number 4 on the chart. This week it’s the highest-charting non-country song in the entire Hot 100. It also matches Gunna’s previous high, with his Lil Baby collab “Drip Too Hard” having also reached number 4 back in 2018. The decision to cover this song in particular is also relevant to some relationship drama dating back to last year. For a short time, fans speculated on a potential romance between the two. While Chloe eventually came forward to confirm their suspicions, it was only because the relationship had already ended.

Chloe Bailey Takes On “fukumean”

Last week Chloe Bailey treated fans to the newest in a long-running series of stunning Instagram posts. This time she was seen enjoying some sun in what looked like an absolute paradise laying in a hammock and drinking from a coconut. Unsurprisingly, she had some bikini pics that left fans completely stunned.

The video also comes just a few days ahead of her sister’s debut solo single. After Chloe released her own solo album In Pieces earlier this year, Halle is up next. She announced in a tweet on Monday that her debut single “Angel” is coming later this week. What do you think of Chloe Bailey’s cover of Gunna’s “fukumean”? Let us know in the comment section below.

K Camp Reacts To Ice Spice Turning Down XXL Freshman Cover

K Camp says that he understands why Ice Spice turned down appearing on XXL‘s iconic Freshman cover for 2023. Speaking with TMZ for an interview published on Monday, he explained that just because the opportunity elevated his career, doesn’t mean everyone needs it. A source for the outlet previously noted that Ice Spice decided against the piece because she’s currently “blitzed with festival bookings and feature requests.”

“Right now, at this moment in her career, she’s definitely had a big run. She got a lot of sh*t going on,” K Camp said about Ice Spice. “Everybody don’t need XXL, but shout out to XXL because it helped my career.”

K Camp appeared on the 2015 XXL Freshman Class cover. Alongside him were Fetty Wap, DeJ Loaf, Raury, Kidd Kidd, OG Maco, Shy Glizzy, Vince Staples, Tink, and GoldLink. Despite the publication’s Freshman cover being so popular, many of the biggest artists in hip-hop today didn’t appear on it. Among them are Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Young Thug, Post Malone, Cardi B, and more.

Despite Ice Spice not appearing on XXL, she’s been exploding in the mainstream over the last year. In the time since the release of her breakthrough single, “Munch (Feelin’ U),” she’s collaborated with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, and even performed at the BET Awards on Sunday night. In addition to “Munch,” she also performed “Princess Diana,” and “In Ha Mood.”

Tyler, The Creator Praises Robin Thicke’s Son For “See You Again” Cover

Tyler, The Creator celebrated Robin Thicke’s son, Julian, on Instagram, after his father shared a video of him performing a cover of “See You Again.” Tyler dropped the original track featuring Kali Uchis back in 2017 on his fourth studio album, Flower Boy. It’s been having a resurgence of sorts in 2023 after going viral on TikTok. The song even debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 44.

Robin shared the video of his son’s performance with the caption: “I still have water in my eyes and lump in my throat because I’m overwhelmed by your voice, spirit and talent. You and Peyton sound so great together. I am so impressed by you. That was an incredible performance at any age. My son Julian Fuego Thicke!!! Wow! @feliciathegoat” A short while later, Tyler commented on the post: “super cool!”

So much nuance at such a young age!!” Another remarked that they want a father-son collaboration: “He gets it from his amazing dad! Hope to hear y’all on plenty of tracks soon and in the future!”

Robin Thicke’s son isn’t the only person Tyler has taken the time to compliment in recent weeks. He’s also spoken about his appreciation for Jermaine Dupri, his friendship with NBA YoungBoy, and more. He made those comments during an interview with Rap Radar. Lil Kim Wants More Credit For Writing For Other Rappers In XXL Cover Interview

Of course, Lil Kim is absolutely a rap icon. But in a saturated landscape where new rappers come out every day, and old ones fall through the cracks, it’s never a bad time to give her the flowers she deserves. Recently, she appeared on XXL‘s latest cover and opened up about her career, accolades, and milestone moments during her interview. Specifically, though, she spoke on the rap game debating on ghostwriters and who deserves credit for songs when she’s written for a lot of artists, a feat she never got full praise for in the industry.

“Everyone calls me an icon, it’s an honor to me,” Lil Kim remarked to the publication. “It makes me smile, it makes me happy to know that people look at me that way because I never really saw that for myself. It just happened organically. There’s a few highlights of my career, but it’s funny ’cause I never had that ‘Oh my God, I made it’ moment. Even to this day, I feel like that moment is still coming. I’m so glad to see us women getting our recognition and everyone celebrating us. I think it’s a wonderful thing. And, by the way, all this talk about writing- I’ve [written] for other people. I wrote on Diddy’s album, check your credits!”

In addition, the Brooklyn star is also one to tribute those in the industry, older or newer, that have had a large impact. For example, Lil Kim recently filled in for Ludacris as the supporting act on Janet Jackson’s “Together Again” tour stop in Allentown, Pennsylvania. During her performance, she gave a dance rendition of Janet’s brother Michael’s hit song “Smooth Criminal,” one of his more beloved tunes. The same goes for how she honors the current biggest names in the rap game in particular.

The Brooklyn Queen’s Words On Ghostwriting In Rap

While performing at Usher’s Lovers & Friends Festival, the 48-year-old danced along to Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock.” That track dominates the current rap landscape, in a similar way to the big hits that she pioneered. If nothing else, it’s only fair that someone as legendary as Lil Kim gets her deserved credit, especially when she often does so for the newer generation- and those before her. Logic Says Joe Budden Is “Hurt, Smart” & “A F***ing Hater”

After a couple of months of silence, Logic finally responded to Joe Budden’s most recent takedown of him. Moreover, the Maryland spitter joined MSNBC‘s Ari Melber this week for an interview, during which they played a word association game. When Melber mentioned the rapper and podcaster, the “Lightsabers” MC called Budden “a hurt man, a very smart man and a f***ing hater” with a laugh. For those unaware, Joe trashed him for his smooth cover of Ice Cube’s classic track, “It Was A Good Day.” With that, he continued a tradition of hating on Logic that he’s been on for years.

“Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you: please join me in retirement,” Joe Budden expressed on his podcast. “Never step near a recording device again! Throw your phone in the ocean! Be allergic to microphones! Promise your fans nothing! Don’t go to the studio ever again! You are the worst, yo! You are really, really bad! And then when we think he can’t get any worse, you have the bright idea of doing an Ice Cube flip.”

Logic Responds To Joe Budden Hating On His Ice Cube Cover

Of course, their “beef” goes way back to 2019, when Joe Budden told Logic that he should’ve retired much earlier when he announced as such. In fact, he even went back and forth with his former Slaughterhouse partner KXNG Crooked over whether he’s hating too much. Regardless, it seems like Logic isn’t really paying it too much attention. Back in 2020, he expressed that he doesn’t really have any ill will towards the Harlem-born MC. “I love Joe Budden,” he shared to Complex during an interview. “Joe Budden is my brother, he’s my older brother. And regardless if he hates me or not, we are part of the same family tree of hip-hop- the same roots of hip-hop. I’ve never met Joe Budden, I’ve never shaken Joe Budden’s hand, we’ve never had a conversation. He does not know me personally.”

“For the last few years, every time I do anything, it’s this guy telling me that I’m shit, that I’m not good enough,” he continued. “And when somebody says that all the time, you’re just like, ‘Damn. Really? What did I do to this guy?’ And then I also realized that Joe Budden was a damaged person- I’m a damaged person. I’ve gone through a lot of s**t. He’s got a lot of anger inside of him, and if I’m his punching bag, so be it. If I can help him in some way, cool. If him s***ting on me makes his day better, by all means. I wish he was nicer, I guess. But I’m not over here losing sleep. I really love this guy, and I wish him the best, and I just want him to be happy.” For more on Logic and Joe Budden, return to HNHH.

Billie Eilish Shares Cover Of Drake’s “Hotline Bling”

Billie Eilish is one of the most talented young artists in the entire world right now. Overall, she has sold millions of albums and continues to be huge in the pop landscape. Since bursting onto the scene a few years ago, she has been a fixture at various award shows. Additionally, she has also been able to lend her talents to original songs for movies like James Bond. Needless to say, things are looking very good for Eilish. One could even guess that she will likely be dropping some new music, very soon.

If you know anything about Billie Eilish, then you are probably aware of her talent on the ukulele. The four-string instrument is incredibly popular, and a whole lot of people began learning how to play it during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, Eilish and her ukulele are an iconic duo. Consequently, she even got her very own deal with Fender to sell her own signature model. Now, she is putting those talents to good use with a special ukulele rendition of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”

Billie Eilish Changes Drake’s Iconic Song Quite A Bit

The cover was posted to her YouTube channel late last night, and it is already making quite an impression on fans. Overall, this version of the song is only one minute in length. Furthermore, it was simply titled “hotline (edit).” The track is extremely atmospheric and it is much slower than the original. There are some nice ukulele chords, as well as some additional strings throughout. Billie Eilish sounds great as well, although her voice has a nice reverb effect to it. If you are a fan of Eilish and you like Drake’s original version, then this will be a fun listen.

Having listened to this newly realized version of “Hotline Bling,” we wonder what Drake must think about this. The song is completely different now, although it still sounds great. Hopefully, Billie Eilish will drop a full-length version of this song, sometime in the future. Let us know what you think of this track, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Snoop Dogg Says A.I. Music Is “Outta Hand”

Snoop Dogg says that A.I. generated music is getting out of hand. The legendary rapper shared his opinion on the technology while posting a video of A.I. Michael Jackson doing a cover of C-Murder’s hit song “Down 4 My N’s.”

“This shit is outta hand,” Snoop wrote in the Instagram post while adding in the caption, “Wow.” “I’ve done a lot of things in my life I’m not proud of. But I ain’t done nothing bad enough to deserve hearing this,” one fan commented on Snoop’s post. “Proving AI can’t beat actual tangible human talent,” another wrote.

Snoop is far from the first artist to comment on the rise of A.I. music in recent weeks. Young Guru called for government regulation in response to the technology to protect the rights of artists. “On one hand I’m well aware that you can’t stop technology. Once the genie is out of the box you can put him back in,” Guru wrote on social media. “On the other hand we have to protect the rights of the artist. Not only artist but everyone in society. People should not be able to take your Name, Image and Likeness without permission. We have to add the voice to this law. We have to learn from past mistakes. You would be a fool to chase every person that is going to do this. We learned that lesson with Napster. The only way I see to deal with it is to change the law. There are so many different opinions. We could change the United States law tomorrow but the internet is world wide. What a time we live in!!”

Other A.I. songs to go viral in recent weeks include a collaboration between Drake and The Weeknd, as well as a song by an A.I. JAY-Z. While many artists have voiced their discomfort with the idea of A.I. music, others have embraced it. JoJo praised the technology, last week, while Grimes has also encouraged fans to use her voice so long as she gets a share of the profits.
