Juice WRLD Fans Absolutely Rip Into His Team For Posthumous Album’s Horrendous Cover Art

Juice WRLD left a huge void when he left us almost five years ago, but his fans, team, loved ones, and admirers continue to celebrate his life and legacy. However, posthumous releases are never easy to handle, and can often turn disrespectful or unfulfilling in the eyes of fans. That’s exactly what’s happening with the late Chicago legend’s upcoming third posthumous album The Party Never Ends, as fans are absolutely blasting the cover art for it. It looks Takashi Murakami-inspired, but overall, it just hit a lot of fans as ugly, overly colorful, and cheap. Definitely not the reception you want for a long-teased posthumous LP for one of hip-hop’s most passionate and impacted fanbases….

The cover art for Juice WRLD’s The Party Never Ends reportedly emerged thanks to its appearance in Fortnite, as he’s one of a few rap artists collaborating with the video game for its Chapter 2 Remix update. Of course, we don’t know what he would’ve done with the game if he was still alive, but there is certainly a lot of crossover there that his team and the game’s developers and publishers want to respect and celebrate.

Juice WRLD’s The Party Never Ends Cover Art: See Replies For Fans’ Roasts

Meanwhile, a lot of fans don’t care as much about this album cover, of which there are many infamous examples. Instead, folks just want to hear Juice WRLD tracks that feel fully brought to life, appropriately marketed, compelling, and worthwhile. The Party Never Ends‘ lead single is the “All Girls Are The Same” remix, “AGATS2 (Insecure)” featuring Nicki Minaj, which is a dreamy reimagining of the original. Maybe this will comprise much of this new album, but the main concern is that it doesn’t feel like a soulless cash-grab that doesn’t add anything to the canon.

At least there are other artistic tributes to Juice WRLD that are much more well-received, respectful, and impressive than the cover art for The Party Never Ends. For example, his mother has a gorgeous mural of him in her recently opened brewery just outside of his home city of Chicago. Hopefully we see more of these in the near future and not eyesore album covers.

Sega Bodega Accuses Lil Nas X Of Stealing His Single Art

Earlier this week, Lil Nas X dropped a teaser for what fans presume to be his upcoming album, DREAMBOY. He did so by announcing his new single, “Light Again,” which is set to arrive this week. He dropped a promotional photo for the track, but unfortunately, not everyone was feeling it. In response to the announcement, dance artist Sega Bodega to X to accuse Lil Nas X of stealing his vision.

According to Sega Bodega, Lil Nas’ promo photo looks eerily similar to the artwork for his own 2021 single, “Angel on My Shoulder.” Lil Nas shared the artwork for Bodega’s single on his Instagram Story, calling it a “ref,” which the Bodega feels was not adequate. “Not even trying to put a spin on it is where I’m like yeesh,” Bodega wrote in response to the image. “‘Look he did credit you in a photo that will disappear in 24 hours forever and no name whatsoever of artist or photographer! Be grateful! You lot sound ins*ne.”

Sega Bodega Goes After Lil Nas X

At the time of writing, Lil Nas X has yet to address Bodega’s tweets. Upon first sharing the promotional image he inspired, however, he wrote a heartfelt message about how thankful he is for all of his supporters. “It just dawned on me how lucky i am to have all of you that still f*ck with me,” it begins. “Bc i know it isn’t always easy! dreamboy isn’t just an album, it’s me coping with the loss of what once was and fighting for a new world. im so excited to bring you on the journey.”

Lil Nas X teased his upcoming single back in March and expressed his eagerness to finally release it. “I don’t know how long I’m going to be able to have this s**t up, or I don’t know what my CEO thinks right now, or whatever,” he said. “[…] Bro, these last couple years have been cr*zy, ’cause I’ve made so much music and I just want to release music. I just want to release music, but expectations are just, like… ins*ne.”

Cardi B Finds Fan’s Fake Sophomore Album Cover Hilarious

Fans have been waiting for Cardi B’s sophomore album for years now. Fortunately, it appears that it’s right around the corner, but her supporters still can’t help but call out how long it’s taken. Recently, one of them even created a fake album cover for the upcoming project, which still doesn’t have an official release date. In it, Cardi B looks remarkably older, with gray hair and wrinkles. “POV: it’s 2054 and Cardi B has finally released her sophomore album,” the fan captioned the post on X.

It seems as though Cardi was amused by the mock-up. She retweeted it with her reaction, “Lmaaaooooooooooooooo.” Clearly, she’s well aware of how badly fans want to hear her next LP, which she continues to tease. Last week, in response to her Grammy nomination, she previewed an unreleased track on her Instagram Story. “Ahhhh so grateful,” wrote alongside the snippet. “And the fact that this song is my light work. Whew!!! This album honey… anyways thank you guys. Enjoy your day!!”

Cardi B Laughs At Fan’s Fake Album Cover

Cardi also chatted with her fans on Twitter Spaces last month and gave them a brief update on how the project was going. “I’m also in L.A. because I have to do something pertaining the album,” she revealed at the time. “I know you guys are going to be like, ‘What the f**k, b***h?’ But it’s something that’s gonna be done really f***ing quick.”

“It’s just gonna be a one-two,” she continued. “I did it when I was pregnant, and nothing came out how I wanted it to come, out so we’re going to do it again. It’s going to be amazing and unique because everything I do, it’s got to be amazing and unique.” While fans have grown slightly impatient over the past few months, Cardi has had a lot keeping her busy. She just welcomed her third child in September, for one, and is going through a divorce.

Kanye West Shares Cover Art For His Next Solo Album, “Bully”

Kanye West has shared the cover artwork for his next solo studio album, Bully, on Instagram. The artwork is credited to Daidō Moriyama. It comes after he premiered the first single from the project, “Beauty & the Beast,” at a listening event for Vultures in China, earlier this month.

Fans expressed their excitement for the project in the comments section of the announcement. “My body’s shaking to the thought of a new Ye album rn,” one user wrote. Another added: “REAL MUSIC IS BACK! carti better be on the album too n***a.”

West announced Bully during the Vultures listening party at Wuyuan River Stadium in Haikou, Hainan, earlier this month. Journalist Touré has since provided some insight into the project, taking to Instagram to reveal that Kanye is reportedly living in Tokyo to record the album. “He’s recording the album in the hotel room. Like, all the machines are set up in the hotel room,” Touré said. “It’s a concept album and he plans to be the only producer on it. Traditionally, Kanye is the product of a team, there are producers helping him, there are writers helping him, he comes with the big ideas but there’s others in. Not this time. This time, Kanye is gonna make this pretty much by himself. A fresh chapter in his life because in Tokyo he can be who he wants to be.”

Check out the artwork for Bully below. West has yet to announce an official release date for the project, but it comes as he continues to prepare for a third installment in the Vultures trilogy with Ty Dolla Sign as well. Tyler The Creator Drops “CHROMAKOPIA” Release Date & Cover Art

Tyler The Creator shocked the world by teasing his new album CHROMAKOPIA yesterday (Wednesday, October 16), and in true Tyler fashion, he didn’t take long to deliver on the hype. He just announced that the album will drop on Monday, October 28, an exciting and curious decision due to this being a Monday release. Also, the Hawthorne creative unveiled what is presumably the cover art for the new LP: a picture of the unnamed, mysterious character featured in the visual tease. Whatever’s on the way, fans everywhere can’t wait to hear what world he transports them to next.

Of course, there are a lot of fan theories floating around as to Tyler, The Creator and his possible next vision and era. Some online users are already comparing the aesthetics of CHROMAKOPIA to other T releases such as IGOR and even CHERRY BOMB when it comes to the teased “ST. CHROMA” snippet from yesterday’s visual. The “VIRGINIA BOY” remixer is known for his quasi-conceptual or full-on narrative work, and with a new color palette, persona, and sonic style, it looks like we’re getting another record in that vein.

Tyler The Creator Unveils CHROMAKOPIA Release Date & Artwork

However, that’s the great thing about a Tyler, The Creator album: you don’t really know what to expect until the whole thing lands on your lap. If you’re excited to rep CHROMAKOPIA and support the rollout, pre-order bundles with CDs and commemorative boxes are now available, and you can click right here to get your merch. These include hoodies, T-shirts, hats, and more. Still, as surprising as this whole thing is, maybe we should’ve seen it coming when the multi-hyphenate complained about annoying fans asking for the album recently. Little did we know…

Meanwhile, there are also other projects on the horizon for Tyler The Creator that have other fans feeling just as excited. We’re talking about his role in an A24 film alongside Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow, under the direction of Josh Safdie. Marty Supreme is shaping up to be great, but CHROMAKOPIA has energized fans in the way that only a new era and album could. We’ll hear what Tyler shares with the world on October 28… Maybe a lead single is coming soon?

Lil Durk Divides Fans With His Dramatic “Deep Thoughts” Album Cover Art

Through the release of “Monitoring Me,” Lil Durk kicked off the rollout for his next album Deep Thoughts, which drops on Friday, October 18. He also shared the cover art with his social media followers: a black-and-white image of the Chicago rapper rising up from open water into the sky, adorned by an almost-fully covered crescent moon. Fan reactions were divisive, with some urging Smurk to get down from his high horse and others finding it to be quite the engaging image. It kind of reflects the overall reception to his music as of late, but he’s never backed down from the washed allegations.

However, some die-hards might be disappointed that Lil Durk isn’t coming out with two brand-new projects soon; just one. He called out a fake tracklist that circulated online for a hypothetical Love Songs 4 The Streets 3. It was quite an eclectic feature list, too: Future, Lil Baby, Rod Wave, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and… Kai Cenat? And iShowSpeed? Well, we don’t blame fans for wanting to hear what this cocktail would’ve resulted in. Maybe later down the road…

Lil Durk’s Deep Thoughts Cover Art: See Comments For Reactions

Also, Lil Durk might not be giving these cover reactions much stock, as he has a lot of praise to fall back on from his Power Book II: Ghost costar, LeToya Tonodeo. “I thought he killed it!” she told TMZ of his performance. “And I hope he keeps going with it. Like, you know, it’s the series finale… *sighs* it’s coming to an end. At least Power Book II: Ghost. But you know what they say, power never ends. So we shall see. […] I think [Lil Durk has a magical quality]. I think so, I mean, he was dope to work with. Super cool, super chill. Yeah, I hope he keeps it going. I hope [we’ll see a lot of him in the future in Hollywood]. I hope so. You’d have to ask him, but in my opinion, I hope so.” Check out reactions to the Deep Thoughts artwork down below.

More Fan Takes

Meanwhile, DJ Akademiks recently previewed a collab between Lil Durk and Drake that many hope will end up on the former’s new album. Let’s see what the future holds…

Kendrick Lamar Brandishes A Shotgun With His Family In New “Mr Morale” Cover Shoot Outtakes

Kendrick Lamar allegedly left a lot of Easter eggs in his 2022 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers that fans still haven’t discovered, or at least, that’s what one of its mixers Manny Marroquin thinks. But there are also plenty of details that didn’t end up manifesting, and many different ideas that were swapped out for others. For example, we now have a look at some more outtake pictures from Mr. Morale‘s cover shoot from photographer Renell Medrano, the same session that gave us the official artwork. In them, K.Dot holds his son Enoch (in a weirdly warped and pic-combining edit), stands over his partner Whitney and the little one, and also holds a shotgun while standing behind Whitney and their two kids on the couch.

Maybe this last one was too heavy or tonally clashed for the final cut. Nevertheless, it’s still interesting to see what other creative ideas were floating around the “Not Like Us” MC’s head, and what his team was bringing to the table. Medrano showed off these newly unearthed pictures from the Kendrick Lamar Mr. Morale shoot at a New York City exhibition.

Elsewhere, though, Kendrick Lamar is focused on the future rather than his past work, and wants to cement his recent releases into the history books… Well, more than they already are, anyway. He recently submitted both “Not Like Us” and his Future and Metro Boomin collab “Like That” for consideration at the 2025 Grammys in various categories. These are Record/Song of the Year and Best Rap Song/Performance, with the former also up for consideration as a Best Music Video nominee. However, just because he submitted these picks doesn’t mean that the Grammys will actually give him the nominations.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar will probably spend a lot of time preparing for his Super Bowl halftime show performance next year. Maybe this comes along with an album or new release at some point, but at press time, that’s only for fans to speculate. We don’t actually have any concrete information on what will happen next. But these old snapshots of the Mr. Morale days made us wonder as to what other curious diversions, alternate takes, and scrapped ideas are within this discography.

Playboi Carti Clarifies Controversial Album Cover

There are far too many questions about Playboi Carti’s upcoming album I AM MUSIC right now, which we’re sure will all be answered by at least 2076. Jokes aside, even though we don’t know much about the release date, this official rollout has fans feeling quite hopeful. But it doesn’t help that Carti’s social media posts on his Instagram page have sometimes given fans the wrong idea. For example, he posted what seemed to be the cover art for the new project on IG, captioning it with all the usual promo stuff. As you will notice immediately in the post below, this artwork is an homage to Lil Wayne’s Dedication mixtape series.

However, Playboi Carti clarified via his Instagram Story this weekend that this cover art is not the official artwork for I AM MUSIC. Most fans exhaled a sigh of relief at this, as they preferred an original concept or just something that was more aesthetically pleasing. Either way, they’re happy to bump the new single “ALL RED” and eagerly await what’s to come. Still, this Lil Wayne connection arrived at an interesting time…

Playboi Carti’s Dedication Homage Isn’t The Official I AM MUSIC Cover

If you’re reading this from under a rock, Lil Wayne was at the center of controversy when Kendrick Lamar announced his Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans next year. Many feel like Weezy deserved it instead since he’s actually from the city, but he admitted that he set himself up for disappointment with the illusion of the opportunity. As such, fans feel pretty split about it, especially with K.Dot’s Drake battle in the background and the complex history between the Roc and Cash Money. Maybe Playboi Carti subtly offered his take on this whole thing, or this is just a perfectly timed coincidence.

Meanwhile, Playboi Carti recently responded to Adin Ross’ positive reaction to his new song “ALL RED.” “@adinross YOU AINT GOT TO LIKE ME BUT I RESPECT YOU KEEPING IT REAL ABOUT MY MUSIC SOME S**T JUST UNDENIABLE,” he wrote as the caption to a screenshot of Ross’ recent livestream. Let’s see if the official album cover for I AM MUSIC – whenever it drops – is also undeniable.

Kendrick Lamar Dug Up An eBay Listing For New Song’s Cover Art

Whenever Kendrick Lamar drops something, you can bet on a whole lot of content in the aftermath that breaks down all the details we didn’t catch on first listen, whether they’re reaches or not. However, sometimes this process can be as simple as tracing back the origins of a certain image. Moreover, Internet sleuths found out that the cover art for his new untitled song, commonly referred to as “Watch The Party Die” online, actually comes from a $70 eBay listing for a pair of black used ’82 Nike Air Force 1s. In fact, the listing sold that very same night that the song came out (Wednesday, September 11).

Furthermore, folks are obviously dissecting a lot of other aspects about this new Kendrick Lamar song and reacting to it appropriately. As you can imagine, the OVO team – including Mr. “Weird Case” Baka Not Nice – isn’t very happy about this song coming out, or thinks it’s not worth anyone’s time. But for pgLang-heads and hip-hop fans at large on any side of the fence, it’s very exciting to see this rollout kick into full-ish gear. Let’s see what that lead single sounds like…

Kendrick Lamar Lurked On eBay For New Song’s Cover Art

Elsewhere, a lot of fans are also breaking down what Kendrick Lamar had to say to Drake on this new track. However, it’s not much. On this new record, there are many reflections on the battle and what happened between these MCs, but nothing in the way of new criticisms, attacks, or specific or subliminal shots. Instead, the criticisms on “Watch The Party Die” are more general towards the industry and state of the culture as a whole, much like K.Dot’s “The Heart” series. As such, calling this “the start of Round 2” after both sides seemed to sidestep it is a mischaracterization on many fans’ behalf.

Still, it doesn’t mean that this new Kendrick Lamar song didn’t light another fire under the game for a minute. DJ Akademiks was one of many who went absolutely wild online with their reactions and assessments. Sometimes, these folks are very critical of these moves, whereas others couldn’t be more praiseful. In any case, we’re all excited to see what happens next, and we’re sure that this eBay buyer and seller still can’t believe that they’re a party of hip-hop history now.

The Weeknd Unveils Album Cover For “Hurry Up Tomorrow”

We are almost at the finish line, and as bittersweet as it is, it looks like The Weeknd will close out his trilogy – and moniker – with a bang. Moreover, he just unveiled the official album cover art for his new upcoming LP, Hurry Up Tomorrow. Much like its predecessors, After Hours and Dawn FM, it’s an image of the Canadian superstar’s face, but this one is much more “normal” and rudimentary compared to the blood-soaked and aged portraits of the aforementioned projects, respectively. As such, fans couldn’t be more excited to hear how these themes will wrap up with this third and final piece of the puzzle.

Furthermore, this adds to other Hurry Up Tomorrow details that The Weeknd shared with Billboard Brazil in their interview before his shows in the country this weekend. One of them is that he actually composed the “central song” of this new record in São Paulo. Abel Tesfaye also called something “Frankenstein,” and it’s a bit unclear if this is a nickname for the album as a whole or for this “central song” that the article mentions. Either way, this nickname indicates a fusion of a lot of different genres and sonic styles that still maintains a core and unmistakeable identity at its root.

The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow Cover Art

In addition, even though The Weeknd’s website doesn’t indicate a release date for this new album, we do have some hints as to when Hurry Up Tomorrow will come out. Well, we have one hint, to be honest. This is because of the physical pre-orders that he put up for this new LP, in addition to a pre-save option for digital streaming platforms. In the pre-order item description, it doesn’t indicate any release date. However, it does say that the physical copies will ship near the release date, which will apparently be no later than six months from today (Saturday, September 7). Hopefully he doesn’t take cues from his potential future collaborator Playboi Carti and actually drops the album.

Jokes aside, this rollout and piece-by-piece hype construction is very different to the Atlanta MC’s situation. Either way, we can’t wait to see what The Weeknd brings us next, especially with this artwork in mind. Will we get a more raw, simple, vulnerable, and definitive album building off of his mysterious, emotional, and trippy journey so far? Or can we not even fathom what’s in store right now? We can’t even tell which is the more exciting option.
