Meek Mill’s been warring with the Internet ever since his name was seemingly redacted in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy. Moreover, many people speculated on their alleged intimate relationship and history, which he took to social media to blast outright. Unfortunately for the Philadelphia MC, this means that folks will scrutinize and criticize his activity on social media and elsewhere much more closely. As such, it didn’t take fans long to spot a post that he liked on Twitter that raised a lot of eyebrows. In it, a fan seemingly approaches the Dream Chasers rapper and speaks to him as he chills out in a pool.
“Meek mill cooling ’em cakes after all night of bender [crying-laughing emoji],” the tweet’s caption read. In addition, the use of words like “daddy” and “king size” also made fans chuckle in the replies and question why he would even like this. Also, the tweet is a reply to a meme about the Diddy allegations and his industry proximities. Of course, it’s always possible that this could just be a hack of some sort, but it seems like a pretty light and innocuous instance if that’s the case. After all, there’s a lot more you could do with Meek’s Twitter account.
Furthermore, fans already saw how this whole debacle and slew of claims, allegations, and discoveries resulted in some combative responses from him. For example, Meek Mill reignited his beef with DJ Akademiks given that the media personality was the main media source pointing to his involvement in the Diddy lawsuit. It got pretty nasty between the two, who had previously engaged in and then squashed beef, but that didn’t last long. Other than that, most of his responses to people that weren’t Ak were much more general and unspecific.

When some fans listened to Cardi B’s new single “Like What (Freestyle),” they might’ve thought, “Haven’t I heard this before?” Well, it’s because the beat that she and her team a sampled, Timbaland’s “She’s A B***h” for Missy Elliott’s 1999 album Da Real World, is a pretty popular beat. Flo Milli spit some amazing bars over a sample, BIA recently slid on a drill flip of it, and most notably, Ski Mask the Slump God used the beat in its unaltered form for one of his biggest hits -– and a staple of the SoundCloud rap era, “Catch Me Outside.” Moreover, he also noticed the parallels.
“Sounds Kinda Familiar,” Ski Mask the Slump God quote-tweeted Cardi B’s post linking the song on Friday (March 1). “I Like The Song Why Yall So Angry Lol,” he followed up with mere minutes after his original message on the social media platform. Of course, the Bardi Gang probably didn’t take too kindly to the assumption that the Florida rapper suggested biting, especially given how much they liked “Like What (Freestyle).” However, this shows that not only is this a reductive way to categorize similar inspiration points that stand as classics in the game, but that there’s a lot of mutual respect there most of the time.
After all, Missy Elliott cosigned “Catch Me Outside” back in 2017, she showed love to Cardi B’s new record, and Ski Mask the Slump God made it clear that he’s a fan of the Bronx MC’s take. If anything, this is probably more of an indication of how fervently his fanbase accused Cardi of this, and how viciously the Bardi Gang responded. But the “Black Forces” lyricist has been in the game long enough to know that there are so many songs you can pull out of just one sample. Cardi should know this too, and it would be interesting to see if she’s a fan of “Catch Me Outside,” too.

Kanye West seeks to dismiss the assault lawsuit against him from an alleged autograph dealer who sought his signature and is claiming self-defense in this case while denying any and all wrongdoing, according to court documents reportedly obtained by Radar Online. For those unaware, Justin Poplawski sued Ye this January in Los Angeles Superior Court for alleged battery and assault, and claimed to be a renowned autograph dealer who got his signature in the past without issue. The story goes that, on January 13 of 2022, Poplawski went to Soho Warehouse in downtown L.A. after hearing the Chicago artist was there.
Furthermore, the lawsuit accuses Kanye West of screaming at the supposed autograph dealer on his way out of the building, referencing his “f***ing divorce” from Kim Kardashian. “Go the f**k [out of] here before I beat you the f**k up. I’m going to make an f***ing example out of you,” he allegedly shouted at Paplowski. Then, the plaintiff claims, the 46-year-old punched his face. “So do you want to get attacked for real?” he allegedly asked Paplowski. When Paplowski allegedly asked Ye to apologize, he claims that he responded with “Apology for what?” Paplowski claims he attacked him several more times and “severely” injured and disfigured him as one of the rapper’s colleagues failed to settle him down.

As such, the lawsuit demands unspecified damages for medical expenses and mental strain. “Defendant is informed and believes, and based on such information and belief, alleges that Defendant was justified in doing any and/or all of the acts alleged in the Complaint,” the reportedly filed response reads. “All of the purported causes of action in the Complaint [become null] to the extent [Kanye West] acted in defense of himself and/or others. [West] acted reasonably and in good faith at all times material herein, based on all relevant facts and circumstances known to [West] at the time [West] so acted.”
The “CARNIVAL” creative requested that the court dismiss this case, award him attorney fees, and deny Paplowski any damages. Another day, another risqué outfit for Bianca Censori, who recently popped out for a Parisian dinner with her husband Kanye West. Moreover, on Wednesday night (February 28), they hit up a restaurant in the City of Love, and she wore a very revealing sheer top that exposes her breasts quite openly. In fact, the former Yeezy architect’s entire outfit was pretty see-through, and with this lack of self-consciousness in mind, she snuggled up quite closely with the Chicago artist at the eatery. Furthermore, this also comes amid odd timing, as Kanye West recently called out Kim Kardashian for keeping their kids at a “fake school.” Given the more lewd and inappropriate displays around his life, including Bianca Censori and all the sexual content that he either shares or indulges in lyrically, it’s a bit of a bizarre standard to uphold. After all, Ye’s issues with his ex-wife’s parenting don’t seem paired with a more traditional or, again, self-conscious set of family values. For example, they recently prompted concertgoers at the 46-year-old’s Vultures listening event in Paris to chant “F**k Adidas.” This comes amid reports that the company will sell their remaining Yeezy inventory and roll out new colorways, which the “BURN” MC obviously took issue with. However, it doesn’t seem like this overt disapproval will halt the company from proceeding with their initiative.
Meanwhile, Censori also intervened in Adin Ross’ assessment of her husband’s situation. What’s more is that the streamer even apologized for speaking on him and his financial struggles, which is heartening to see without the context of all of Ye’s antisemitism. “I am suing Sean Combs too,” Tiffany Red said of Diddy on Instagram, calling out Universal Music Group’s chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge as well in the post’s caption. “I’m suing Sean Combs, I’m suing Interscope Records, I’m suing Bad Boy Entertainment, I’m suing Epic Records. And… I don’t know who else, I don’t know if my lawyer is saying there’s anybody else that’s in there. But those are the people that I am suing. I am suing for tortuous interference, for all of the work that I have done that has been f***ed because of all of this. F***ed! F***ed. My work was f****ed, it was derailed.
“I spent years working with Cassie. Years!” Tiffany Red continued concerning Diddy. “The music is incredible, it’s all f***ed now. It’s got all this nastiness all over it. I can’t tell you what I felt like when I found out this is what was going on. I can’t tell you what I felt like when I found out that my music was playing in the background. That the reason why this n***a called me an emotional singing b***h is because he was listening to a demo of me singing while he was doing God knows what with my f***ing friend.

Diddy’s latest lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and much more started another media firestorm this week. Moreover, many celebrities reacted to this news, whether they were named in this new legal filing or not. One of them is Natania Reuben, who was shot in the face in a 1999 New York club altercation involving the Bad Boy mogul that prosecutors ended up blaming Shyne for. Not only does she claim that Sean Combs was the one to shoot her, but that he ended up harassing her in the years since. It’s a very long clip with a lot of allegations and claims about previous lawsuits and this incident from nearly 25 years ago.
Furthermore, for those unaware, this caused a strain in Diddy and Shyne’s relationship, one that they ended up working out. “Let me tell you why that is of utmost importance to me,” Reuben explained. “Because I am the woman he shot in the face in that December 27, 1999 Club New York shooting. I have told everyone ad nauseam since then, even the surgeon who did the surgery to take the bullet, I got shot in my face with a 9 mm hollow-point bullet called a cop killer.
“I literally told everyone and never changed what I said,” she continued concerning Diddy. “I watched him, I got [shot] in the face, I watched him fire the gun. I’ve said it all this time. Even the surgeon who did my surgery testified in the criminal trial that while they were putting me under [anesthesia]. I was screaming, ‘Puffy [shot] me in the face.’… Everybody knew he did it, but he paid off the club bouncer and all these other people to hide the video. That’s his MO.”

The Recording Academy is responsible for awarding the yearly Grammy Awards. While a Grammy Award remains a prestigious achievement for many artists, the awards ceremony is not without its critics. Most recently, Jay-Z expressed his frustration at the Grammy’s failure to properly recognize Hip Hop, as well as his wife Beyoncé. However, his displeasures with the Academy extend far into the past.
This institution is currently the highest authority when it comes to recognizing outstanding achievements in the music industry, worldwide. At the same time, they seem to have a long history of overlooking artists, especially within the Hip Hop genre. From Eminem to Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj and Drake; here’s a list of rappers who have had to condemn the Academy for treating artists unfairly. While frustrations with the Grammys stretch back decades, it seems the institution is still failing to properly recognize the genre.
In 1989, Public Enemy, sat out the Grammys along with a few other Hip Hop bigwigs. It was a brave decision to make especially since 1989 marked the first year that hip-hop had its own category. The pack of celebrity Grammy critics was led by Def Jams’ Russell Simmons, because the artists had been informed that their category would not be televised, blaming it on time restrictions. Public Enemy boycotted again in 1991 under similar circumstances.
Thirty years later, one of Public Enemy’s founding members, Chuck D, spoke out against the Recording Academy. This happened when the former head of the Recording Academy, Deborah Dugan, was put on leave just before the 2020 awards. Notably, Public Enemy was set to receive a Lifetime Achievement award that year, but Chuck D supported Dugan and chose to lambast the Academy for its actions instead. Public Enemy would eventually be nominated six times for a Grammy but win none.
Eminem
Eminem has had quite a successful journey with the Grammys with fifteen trophies to his name. However, more than a dozen gold-plated statues were not enough to stop him from joining the list of Grammy critics. The reason for Eminem’s boycott turned out to be quite simple: he had been snubbed way too many times for the “Album Of The Year” category. In 2001, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP lost the award to Steely Dan’s Two Against Nature. Two years after that, the same thing happened with The Eminem Show album, which lost to Norah Jones’ Come Away with Me.
Although he performed four times at the award ceremony after 2001, and up until 2011, Eminem seems to be done with the Grammys for good. However, it was a rather quiet boycott, until 2018, when he was interviewed by Sway Calloway. When Calloway asked if he would ever honor an invite from the Recording Academy again, he replied: “My answer is no for a hundred million years,”
Lil Wayne is another major name to join the list of Grammy critics. Just one day after the 63rd annual Grammy Awards in 2021, he tweeted “F-k the Grammys” on a bright and early Monday morning. He had not been invited, and Weezy took the Grammy snub personally. At the peak of his career, he had won four awards in one night at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Later in 2017, he also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for “No Problem.” It’s quite the mystery that one of the most important names in Hip Hop was left out of the invite list.
Lil Wayne let out his thoughts in a few extra tweets. “As an artist, when I see da Grammys coming up & I’m not involved nor invited; I wonder. Is it me, my musik, or just another technicality?” he wrote. “I look around w respect & wonder competitively am I not worthy?! Then I look around & see 5 Grammys looking bak at me & I go to the studio.”
With a disappointing five wins out of 55 nominations, it’s no wonder Drake is also at the forefront of the Grammy critics. In 2022, Drake’s management requested the Academy to remove him as a nominee for two award categories: Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance. Before then he had been quite vocal about many dissatisfaction he had with the award; especially since his four Grammys were strictly in the rap category and he deserved more.
Drake was also vocal in his support for The Weeknd, who famously boycotted the award in 2021. However, his most popular anti-Grammy act took place in 2019 when he was awarded best rap song for “God’s Plan.” Although he declined an invitation to perform, Drake attended the ceremony. He received his award, and in his acceptance speech, reminded everyone that “…we’re playing in an Opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport. So it’s not the NBA…”
Drake continued until the producers cut the speech off and continued to commercial for home viewers. The feed was also cut off in the media room at the Los Angeles Staples center. On the day of the 2024 Grammys, Drake reposted a clip from his speech that night. Why? Just to remind everyone that he still didn’t take the Grammys seriously.
Kanye West
Kanye West, one of the most awarded artists of all time with 21 Grammy wins, shocked many when he shared a Twitter video in September 2020. It was a video of the rapper urinating on one of his Grammy statues. This act came after he had posted a string of tweets. Ye criticized the music industry, and called it a “modern-day slave ship.” In response to the video, the Recording Academy decided to ban him from performing at their awards ceremony.
The infamous pissing video would not be his first time attacking the Grammys however. In 2017, he threatened to boycott the award in support of Frank Ocean whose albums had received no nominations. This was even though West himself had been nominated for eight awards that same year. He launched a more verbal attack in 2015 in support of Beyoncé.
Jay-Z has long been one of the most popular Grammy critics around. In fact, he has quite a history of airing out his frustration with the Grammy Awards’ treatment of rap music. The first time was in 1999, when he boycotted the awards because rapper DMX didn’t get nominated. Soon after, in 2002, he commented that “rappers deserve more attention from the Grammy committee and from the whole world.”
Things were quiet again for a few years, until 2018. Hov was nominated for eight Grammys (including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year), and didn’t win any. It was the first time he would be on the receiving end of Grammy losses. Subsequently, in his song “APESHIT” as one half of The Carters, he made sure to reference the incident. “Tell the Grammys forget that 0-for-8 sh*t,” he rapped.
However, his most recent attack took place on the stage at the 2024 Grammys. While receiving the Dr. Dre Global Impact Grammy Award, Jay-Z spoke about how unfair it was that his wife Beyoncé had never won Album of the Year. Widely considered one of the most recurrent Grammy snubs, both critics and fans alike have expressed their displeasure at Beyonce’s repeated losses to white artists, despite having more impactful projects.
Nicki Minaj

In 2012, when Nicki Minaj earned multiple nominations, she went home empty handed. A few years later, she criticized the Recording Academy for not acknowledging her influence in a viral tweet. “Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver.” Altogether, Nicki Minaj has been nominated for a Grammy ten times but never won any.
Her disappointment continued in 2024 when she was wrongly declared as a Grammy winner. In the Best Rap Song category, Killer Mike won for “Scientists & Engineers.” However, the official Grammys account on X (formerly known as Twitter), incorrectly attributed the award to “Barbie World” by Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj. Although the post was swiftly removed, the damage was already done.
Indeed, comedy has the power to not only entertain but lift people’s spirits. However, in several instances, comedy is widely known to spark controversy. Take the popular comedian Matt Rife for example. After a staggering rise to the top, he has constantly found himself garnering backlash every other day.
It all began following an insensitive joke that touched on the topic of domestic violence. This event occurred during his Netflix Special, Natural Selection. However, as laughter erupted in the hall, backlash brewed online. Since then, many other of his “jokes” have been scrutinized for never quite landing right. Here’s a handful of them.
During his Netflix Special Natural Selection, Matt Rife spoke about the frustration of having a noisy and restless child on a long flight. He joked that he once got so frustrated with a crying child… so frustrated that he almost pretended to be a sexual predator to get the child away from him and quiet. “I was this close to leaning over to the dad and being like ‘Can you get your sexy ass kid away from me?’” he said.
It should be reiterated that under no circumstance are jokes about being a pedophile funny. Therefore, Rife’s twisted comments quickly came under fire. Moreover, social media users have concluded that Matt Rife targets women and children in the hopes of building a predominantly male fan base. Needless to say, his words were inexcusable.
Believe it or not, Matt Rife blew up thanks to his once largely female fanbase. That’s why it has come as a shock that he seems to regularly make fun of women. In early 2023, he went on a tirade on the Stiff Socks podcast about women’s bodies. A particular segment caught the attention of many people. “Am I supposed to f**k you or thumb wrestle?” he asked. “I don’t love a giant cl*t. I don’t wanna look down and feel like God left a tag on you,” he said. His body shaming continued with the line, “I just don’t want your p*ssy to look like the gum from Sausage Party. You know what I mean?” Unsurprisingly, this caused a stir.
Matt Rife’s comedy special seemed to have propagated another “joke” that only he seems to be in on and no one else understands. In December 2023, TikTok creator Bunny Hedaya posted a video claiming that Matt had beef with her 6-year-old son. Hedaya had previously posted a video of her son reacting to Natural Selection where something caught the young boy’s attention. While talking about women who blame astrology for everything, Matt stated: “It has nothing to do with stars, man. Just because Jupiter has a ring and you don’t, doesn’t mean that you’re supposed to look up to it for this magical advice.”
Hedaya’s son then responded in her video: “Actually, it’s Saturn that has the rings. It has more visible rings also.” Matt Rife evidently couldn’t handle being corrected by a child. In a now-deleted Instagram comment, he wrote: “Jupiter also has a ring. OH!… and Santa Claus isn’t real. Your mom buys you presents with the money she makes on OnlyFans. Good luck.”
Following the major backlash he received for his Netflix comedy special, Matt Rife decided to post an apology. On November 20, 2023, Matt shared a picture of himself on his Instagram story alongside the caption: “If any of my jokes have ever offended you, check out my official apology at this link.” As a result, many of Matt’s social media followers and onlookers were glad that he had seemed to reconsider his choice of jokes and had posted an apology.
However, when users clicked on the link, it redirected them to a health website where they had the option to purchase specialized helmets designed for special needs. This was Matt doubling down on his joke and not apologizing at all. Instead, he offended a new set of minorities with this joke.
To kick off his controversial comedy special, Matt recounted an incident at Baltimore restaurant. There, they saw a female server sporting a black eye. Sharing the uncomfortable observation, Matt narrates: “It wasn’t like, ‘What happened?’ It was pretty obvious what happened… My buddy, who was with me, commented, ‘Yeah, I feel bad for her, man. I feel like they should put her in the kitchen or something where nobody has to see her face, you know?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, but I feel like if she could cook, she wouldn’t have that black eye.’”
In an attempt to gauge the audience’s receptiveness, he jested: “I’m just testing the waters, seeing if y’all are gonna be fun or not… I figure if we start the show with domestic violence, the rest of the show should be smooth sailing.” So in summary, he stated that those who didn’t laugh at the joke were not fun. As is the fate of any poorly received, offensive, and unfunny joke, Matt has since faced significant, and well-warranted backlash.

From former girlfriends and employees of the famed Playboy patriarch to his wife Crystal Harris, many have spoken up about the terrifying and disturbing things that occurred at the infamous mansion. For example, Crystal has referred to her relationship with Hefner as “Stockholm Syndrome,” while also revealing her constant need to be outwardly perfect. Nonetheless, much more sinister allegations have reared their heads against Hef and his kingdom. Here are the worst allegations brought up over the years.
Over the years, several Playboy Bunnies and other women associated with the Playboy brand have come forward with accusations of sexual harassment and/or assault against Hugh Hefner. These allegations paint a disturbing picture of a culture within the Mansion that allowed inappropriate behavior to thrive. In an episode of the docuseries Secrets Of Playboy, identical twin sisters and former girlfriends of Hugh Hefner, Kristina and Karissa Shannon spoke up. They claimed that they engaged in sexual activities with Hefner against their wishes. Specifically, they insisted they were afraid to resist him, at the risk of angering him. Moreover, the twins claimed that Hef refused to use protection, and eventually, Karissa got pregnant. She was then forced to abort the child.
Drug Use At The Playboy Mansion
The Playboy Mansion and Hugh Hefner were notorious for extravagant parties and a lifestyle of hedonism. In the same vein, numerous reports and allegations have surfaced, detailing the rampant drug use within the Mansion’s walls. Former employees and guests have spoken about the pervasive drug culture and how the parties held inside the Mansion were drug-fueled. In 1973, Playboy Bunny Adrienne Pollack died of a quaalude overdose. As quaalude is often referred to as a sex drug, her death sparked suspicions about the use of drugs inside the Mansion.
Furthermore, past girlfriends of Hefner’s, particularly Sondra Theodore and Holly Madison, spoke up about this in Secrets Of Playboy. “Hef pretended he wasn’t involved in any hard drug use at the mansion, but that was just a lie,” Theodore said. “Quaaludes down the line were used for sex. Usually, you just took a half. Now if you took two, you’d pass out. It was such a seduction, and the men knew this… That they could get girls to do just about anything they wanted if they gave them a quaalude.”
Before the death of Hefner’s secretary Bobby Arnstein in 1975, the FBI investigated the rampant use of drugs at the Playboy Mansion. This was done in the hopes of finding evidence of drug trafficking. Although they found cocaine in Arnstein’s purse, there was no hard evidence that she was supplying Hugh Hefner and the Playboy bunnies with drugs. It wasn’t until 2022 that the matter was brought up again by Sondra Theodore. Additionally, in a shocking reveal, she claimed that she bought drugs for Hefner. “How many times did I pick up drugs for Hef? I don’t know, countless. Countless times… Luckily, I had angels watching over me and I never got caught,” she said.
Blackmail As A Result Of Extensive Monitoring
Former residents and employees of the Playboy Mansion have also alleged that there was an extensive network of hidden cameras. These were reportedly strategically scattered throughout the premises, including private living areas and social gathering spaces. The cameras recorded people in orgies and consuming hard drugs. Theodore, among others, alleged that Hefner had used these tapes to blackmail people into keeping quiet. “He lets the media into all these parties on purpose because usually they end up doing something they’ll regret,” she said. “So down the road, if anything is going to come out negative about him, he’d just say ‘I don’t think so – remember this?’”
Exploitation Of Bunnies
For decades, Playboy and Hugh Hefner have been accused of exploiting women and perpetuating objectification and unrealistic beauty standards. Behind the glamorous photo shoots and centerfolds of Playboy, however, also lay stories of financial exploitation. Some former Bunnies have come forward with allegations that they were either underpaid or not compensated at all for their work. Contracts were reported to be heavily skewed in favor of Playboy, leaving models with pay stretched out over a long period. Former Playmate Tylyn John also stated that the girls could not try to make money for themselves either. “They give you $5000 here and $2500 here,” she said. “They drag it out because you have to fulfill your duty before you get it all… You can’t do anything without their permission. Like if you were trying to make money off yourself? That was a no-no.”

While his exact birth date remains unclear, Kniko Howard was conceived sometime in 2002, when his mother was 17. He is the oldest of the two kids Draya Michele has given birth to and is between 21 and 22 years old right now. In early 2016, Howard’s paternity was being debated on social media. At that time, many believed that his father was former NBA player Gilbert Arenas. However, Michele shut down those rumors before things got out of hand. In a now-deleted Instagram post from February 2016, she made it clear that Kniko’s father was not an NBA player. She shared that Kniko’s dad, who he is named after, “lives in PA and makes an honest living being a barber.” Afterward, with the topic settled, fans backed off and laid it to rest.
Although Kniko Howard is barely seen on his mother’s social media accounts, the two seem to have a sweet relationship. In 2021, already a mother of two, Draya Michele proudly sent the oldest of her two kids off to college. She captioned the photos she posted on Instagram, “Well, It’s official. I’m a college mom. I’m so proud of you son!!!!!!” Many fans were taken by surprise at how much Kniko had grown, and they congratulated both him and his mom. For the most part, Kniko Howard maintains a very low profile. Not much is known about his personal life and interests. However, right now, he should be a junior at Georgia State University, Atlanta, where he was admitted in 2021.
On April 8, 2016, Draya Michele officially became a mother of two kids. The Real Housewives Of Hollywood star shares her son Jru Scandrick with former NFL star Orlando Scandrick. Michele announced Jru’s birth on X a week after his arrival. “I had him last week and I just wanted to take that time to enjoy him as my own little special gift,” she gushed. Since his birth, the youngster has made sparse appearances on his mother’s Instagram. Being that he is only seven years old right now, he is probably restricted from using social media, and rightly so. It is yet to be seen if Jru will choose to follow in the footsteps of either of his parents. While there’s a good possibility of that happening, he just might grow up to forge his own path.
