Cavalier & Quelle Chris Drop Off “Shining Brighter” Featuring Pink Siifu & Denmark Vessey To DSPs

Two long-running names in Brooklyn’s underground hip-hop scene are back with a new single, as well as a new project. Those two MCs would happen to be Cavalier and Quelle Chris. They have quite the chemistry together, working on tons of songs and records since the mid-2010s. This week, Cavalier and Quelle Chris have put forth “Shining Brighter”. It’s a sampler from their newest endeavor, Death Tape 2 | We Gon’ Need Each Other. The inaugural Death Tape was an EP called Black Cottonwood, and initially, it was a website exclusive release that you had to buy. However, it is now available on streaming as of December 8, 2023, nearly a full year after it came out.

For Death Tape 2 | We Gon’ Need Each Other, though, it seems that Cavalier and Quelle will not be releasing it on DSPs at all. Instead, you can purchase it, like the original, for $16.00. Although, the first one was a dollar cheaper at $15.00. However, to quench some fans’ thirst, Quelle Chris and Cavalier are delivering “Shining Brighter” to Spotify and the like. The single features Pink Siifu, as well as another reoccurring guest in Denmark Vessey. In fact, the latter is actually labeled as the third lead artist for Death Tape 2 | We Gon’ Need Each Other. If you want to buy the project, click the first “[Via]” link down below. Like most Cavalier and Quelle records, “Shining Brighter” is another unconventional hip-hop track. This one features a very unique instrumental with piano melodies dominating the instrumental. Check out the single below with the YouTube link.

Yhapojj & Nino Paid Are Ready To Tear It Up On “Moshpit”

Yhapojj, the Huntsville, Alabama teenager, put out his first commercial album on May 10, P.S. F*** You. At the time, it was just the second occasion that we posted a reaction/news post about the underground rapper. However, after all of the positive reviews on the project from fans, we knew we couldn’t slow down our coverage of Yhapojj. He seems to have this special cult following bubbling up, which is exciting to see, especially for talent still on the rise. Recently, Yhapojj put out a new single called “Moshpit”, which features another newcomer in Nino Paid.

He’s also been gaining some momentum himself in quick fashion. He’s already up to over 180,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and he’s only been releasing music professionally since 2023. In terms of what city/state he’s repping, Nino hails from Landover, Maryland. This is the first time that him and Yhapojj have collaborated, and it feels like it won’t be the last either. “Moshpit” sounds exactly like what the title of the record is. However, it takes slight detour thanks to its videogame-like beat. However, that decision makes sense once you see the music video’s opening scene, which is someone logging into a PlayStation console. The lyrics are very blunt and aggressive in typical rage fashion. Give Yhapojj and Nino Paid’s single “Moshpit” a try with the link below.

Trippie Redd, LAZER DIM 700, & VonOff1700 Collab For Cutthroat Single “Murderman”

In the mid to late 2010s, Canton, Ohio native Trippie Redd was a fresh voice for hip-hop. His blends of emo, heavy metal, pop rap, and trap brought some of the biggest songs of the decade. “Dark Knight Dummo”, “Talking A Walk”, “1400/ 999 Freestyle”, “Topanga”, and “Love Scars”, are just a few. Additionally, he’s done some decent work in the 2020s, especially at the start. However, the same cannot be said today and arguably over the last couple of years. For some reason, he cannot seem to recapture what made him so special at his peak. Unfortunately, the struggle for Trippie Redd continues this week too with “Murderman”.

At some point, he’s going to be dropping LIFE’S A TRIP 2, the sequel to his well-received debut album of the same name. If more songs like “Murderman” are what we are going to be receiving, then this LP is doomed. Honestly, though, it’s already trending in that direction. “LWRW” and “LGLG” are debatably some of the most repetitive and boring singles of 2024. “Bando Kid” is definitely the most respectable and closest return to form in our eyes, however. For “Murderman”, though, Trippie is working with LAZER DIM 700 and VonOff1700, two more underground names who bring an extremely murderous tone.

However, that’s about all that they do here. At times, they try to sound like Playboi Carti’s deep voice, including Trippie. If you haven’t heard a VonOff feature or single, you are certainly in for an experience. We don’t want to say any more, so check it out for yourself and see if you agree with our take.

Tory Lanez Grabs His First Feature For The Latest Prison Tapes Installment Of “580 Benz” & “Rodeo Drive”

Tory Lanez is doing a couple of firsts this time around for his weekly “Prison Tapes Playlist”. Usually, the Brampton, Ontario native is giving us Lost Tapes or tracks recorded behind bars. For week number eight, we are getting one of the latter, that being “580 Benz”, and a “Twitch Tapes”, which is “Rodeo Drive”. According to Genius, “Rodeo Drive” was recorded on a live stream on the popular platform back on May 8, 2022. These “Twich Tapes” aren’t anything new necessarily, however, this is the first of its kind to see an official release. Also shaking things up a bit is the first cut we mentioned, “580 Benz”. Tory Lanez and his production team were able to coordinate a feature for this record.

That guest is HollywoodSos another Canadian rapper who appears to have some affiliation with Lanez’s independent label, One Umbrella Records. “First person I’m ever gonna feature on a prison tape is my older brother @itshollywoodsos☂☂☔☔”. He could just be talking about a friend, but if this is a family member, that’s a cool moment for Tory. However, after that part of the caption on his IG Story, Lanez posed a question to his fans. “Who else should I feature on these prison tapes?”. People were quick to give some suggestions on social media and a lot of them are previous collaborators. One user replies, “We need Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Trippie Redd, Yoko Gold, a boogie features🔥🔥”. What do you think? Be sure to leave your thoughts below and check out “580 Benz” and “Rodeo Drive” with the links.

Lil Yachty & Veeze Are Unapologetic On “Sorry Not Sorry”

It seems that every weekend Lil Yachty has a new single out and this time around it’s called “Sorry Not Sorry”. The track enlists the gravelly-voiced rapper from Detroit, Veeze. These two vastly different MCs are no strangers to each other. A lot of their past collaborations stem from the Georgia multi-hyphenate’s 2021 record, Michigan Boy Boat. That project saw Lil Boat try his hand at the Detroit rap style, all while working alongside plenty of names from the area. BabyTron, Sada Baby, Icewear Vezzo, Tee Grizzley, and of course, Veeze. They worked on two songs together, including “Fight Night Round 3” and the closer, “This That One”.

However, Veeze was not nearly as popular as he is now. 2023 was his breakout year, dropping Ganger and its subsequent deluxe four months after the original version. Now, after increasing popularity and trying out different sounds, these guys are reconvening on “Sorry Not Sorry”. Yachty has decided to release this in a three-pack format by including past singles such as his viral collab with ian, “Hate Me”, and “Lets Get On Dey A**”. Whether or not the Bad Cameo is working on another new project remains to be seen. For now, though, he is at least giving us this unapologetically braggadocious single. You can check it out with the Lyrical Lemonade-produced music video below.

Fivio Foreign & Kodak Black Surprise Release Pro Donald Trump Anthem “ONBOA47RD”

Fivio Foreign has shared quite the “surprise” this weekend. That is the caption he used to announce a new single with Kodak Black and Donald Trump. AllHipHop caught wind of the Instagram post shortly after midnight and it safe to say that a lot of people are floored by “ONBOA47RD”, which is the name of Fivio Foreign‘s song with Donald Trump. However, it may be even more accurate to say that fans are straight up not feeling this. “Tagging Trump is corny”, one user writes under the New York drill rapper’s post.

“Ni****a what 😂😂 we workin wit the opps now❌❌❌❌”, another adds. “He just lost a fan”, one more chimes in. “ONBOA47RD” is certainly a lot to take in and what’s even more wild is the fact that the former POTUS actually has a writing credit on the song too. It includes various quotes from his first public address following the nearly fatal assassination last month. As for what Fivio and Kodak are bringing to the table, they are essentially showing who they are supporting in this year’s election. However, Foreign is also getting personal on the track, rapping about his inner demons. Black spits about being a “drug dealer turned diplomat”.

Doe Boy, Skilla Baby, & Flo Milli Find Their “Special” Matches On New Collab

Doe Boy is continuing to bring together big names with this new single “Special”. The Cleveland, Ohio native is working with Skilla Baby (once again) and Flo Milli, a first timer. The Midwesterners were recently on “Smack Sh*t”, a September 2023 release, so you know they are going to have great chemistry. In fact, they do on “Special”, a song all about being infatuated with a one-of-a-kind woman. However, if you are familiar Doe Boy and Skilla Baby’s music, you know they aren’t going to go about this subject matter in lovey-dovey fashion.

Flo Milli is also her to give this collaboration its extra flair and raunchy attitude with some pretty braggadocious bars. “I be like, “F*** a red light,” I’m speedin’ my way to the d**k (Damn) / He found out my s*** was tight ’cause he could barely make it fit (Woah) / Now he stalk a b**** for life, you know I’m good for talking s*** (Hey)“. This banger is co-produced by Gentle Beatz, a rising name from Germany whose done a lot of his early hitmaking alongside BossMan Dlow. Overall, “Special” has loads of firepower on all sides, making it a sure-fire club mainstay going forward. Stream the single with the link below.

Boldy James & Tee Grizzley Tag Team A Luxurious Trap Beat From Harry Fraud On “Cecil Fielder”

There is no stopping Boldy James. The Detroit, Michigan MC, one who embodies the hardcore subgenre, is back with yet another single. It comes just a few days after the YouTube exclusive release of “10 Pints”. It’s a reuniting of legends, as him and The Alchemist pick up right up where they left off a few years ago. Now, the East Coast figure is rekindling his relationship with New York producing vet Harry Fraud. Boldy James is also bringing his Detroit brethren Tee Grizzley along for the ride, as they drop “Cecil Fielder”.

Something that Harry and Boldy do not share is an album. The latter has plenty with other producers, so with “Cecil Fielder” being their song, the hope is that this a lead single. As per usual, Fraud lays down another incredible instrumental that equal parts grand and gritty. The elegant string and horn sections intertwined with the trap drums lead to one heck of an extravagant vibe. Additionally, Boldly and Tee display that thy have something to build on outside of their same-city connection. This is hands down one of the former’s best tracks of 2024.

German Producing Collective KITSCHKRIEG Teams Up With Future, Fridayy, & Mariah The Scientist For “Slow Down”

Future has been absolutely everywhere this year. It really seems like he is inserting himself back into the conversation as the best trap artist of all time. He’s on two of the biggest releases of the year with the Metro Boomin tapes WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. However, it seems he is not settling for just two albums. Ever since the latter, he has been teasing a mixtape in the works, one that he’s referring to as Mixtape Pluto. Furthermore, he’s been busy in the feature department as well. The latest is “Slow Down”, which seems his work alongside the German producing team of KITSCHKRIEG.

Additionally, R&B’ers Mariah the Scientist and Fridayy are in the mix. On this record, all three performers are looking to take things one step at a time in each of their new relationships. However, we it comes to Future and love tracks like “Slow Down”, you know he’s not going to take the traditional approach. Per usual, we get a lot of bars about blowing money on scandalous women and having threesomes. Conversely, Mariah and Fridayy are giving a more realistic version of a fresh relationship and not wanting to ruin it. For KITSCHKRIEG, this is their lead single for the upcoming album, German Engineering 2, which is still awaiting a release date.

Q Da Fool Collabs With Veeze On “Pookie”, Announces New Album Dropping August 2nd

Maryland rapper Q Da Fool has had a rough go of it recently. For two years he was dealing with a prison sentence. Additionally, after coming home in late 2023, he would be arrested again for allegedly “inciting violence” after releasing a single and going on Instagram Live with it. However, he was able to bounce back in December and drop that project he was getting ready during that time called Art of Ambition. In an interview with Rolling Stone surrounding its release, Q Da Fool made it clear just how happy he was to be dropping music again. “As long as I’m putting out good music and grinding, I can’t complain”. Overall, that mentality has led Q Da Fool to dropping “Pookie”.

This is the latest release from him, with “Tarzan” being the most recent single during this prolific run in 2024. “Hey Auntie”, “Wanna Be Down”, “chopt”, as well as a feature for Daimo Dunkin are all other offerings from Q Da Fool during this stretch. Hopefully, the first three of the five, including “Pookie”, will all land on his next album. According to Dirty Glove Bastard, King George is the name of it and it will arrive on August 2. That is incredibly exciting news for all Q Da Fool fans, as he adds to an already stacked weekend release wise. Overall, we do not know a lot of the specifics of King George. What we can say is that Veeze will be on the project. He is the feature on “Pookie” and if you want to check out their collab, check the link below to give it a try.
