Latto Shouted Out Coi Leray During Her Final Coachella Set, Ending Their ‘Beef’ For Good

Anyone who wanted to see what a rap beef between Latto and Coi Leray would look like will be disappointed after this weekend. During her final Coachella set, Latto gave an appreciative shout-out to the other rapper, finally clearing the air after Coi’s reaction to her new song “Put It On Da Floor.”

“Aye, Coi,” Latto said on stage, knowing that even if the New Jersey rapper wasn’t watching, she’d get the news. “By the way, I love your body, baby.” Coi herself acknowledged the moment, retweeting a clip from a fan account and writing, “It was the diss record with my name on it that confused me. Much love to Latto! Appreciate the compliment.”

The diss record in question is “Put It On Da Floor,” which Latto released on Friday after teasing it during her week one Coachella performance. The song has been interpreted by some fans as a diss directed toward Nicki Minaj, with whom Latto has had some friction recently, but it does make mention of Coi, who took issue with her name coming up in the song.

The line that caused all the drama goes: “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.” On Twitter, Coi went off, writing, “Latto bye . 😴 here you go taking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY.” However, after fans pointed out the figurative nature of the line, Coi reconsidered, reeling in her annoyance with an admission that:

“Maybe I over reacted idk. End of the day. Don’t say my name for clicks and likes. Specially if we don’t speak or communicate. I’m not a big blunt small blunt. Don’t compare me to nada. Mention bitches you actually beef with. Put it on the floor but leave me out of the bs.”

So, Coi and Latto are officially cool now, but we’ve yet to hear back from Nicki Minaj, the alleged target of the diss. She’s been known to keep her feuds simmering for years at a time, so we’ll probably hear from her soon enough.

Latto Addresses Rumored Coi Leray Beef At Coachella

Latto killed any speculations about her rumored feud with Coi Leray during Coachella. After releasing “Put It On Da Floor” on Friday, the Queen Of The Souf rapper delivered her first performance of the record during Coachella weekend 2. Delivering her opening bars a capella, she clarified her reference to Coi Leray before jumping into the song. “Aye, Coi, by the way, I love yo body, baby,” she said. It didn’t take long for the clip to return to the Trendsetter artist who simply quoted the video on Twitter with a “100” emoji.

Ultimately, it all boiled down to a simple misunderstanding between the two artists, which Coi admitted afterward. “It was the diss record with my name on it that confused me. Much love to Latto! Appreciate the compliment,” she wrote on Twitter. She previously expressed a similar statement a day prior when she acknowledged that she may have overreacted. “Maybe I overreacted idk,” she wrote. “I’m not a big blunt small blunt. Don’t compare me to nada.”

The line in question lands on the second verse of Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor,” which led to the internet debating whether or not it was shade. “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray/ B*tches like to run to mouths but I’m the type to run the fade,” she raps. Immediately afterward, Coi went off on Twitter, claiming that Latto simply wanted to engage in some sort of rap beef with her. Afterward, she suggested that there were tensions behind closed doors between the two. Some felt like it may have surrounded the leak of Latto’s reference track for “Blick Blick.”

Unfortunately, in Coi Leray’s attempt to deflect the beef, she got caught up in her own fib. At one point, she suggested that she “don’t know none of you bitches in real life.” As expected, fans thought that was a dig toward Latto, though it didn’t take long for receipts to surface. Coi Leray, in fact, appeared in Latto’s 2020 music video for “On God” as an extra. Regardless, Coi Leray and Latto have put their feud behind them, Perhaps, we can expect a collaboration in the near future.

Not only did the 25-year-old show out on the remix of RAYE’s “Flip A Switch.,” but she also found herself in the midst of some Twitter beef with Latto. The “Wheelie” hitmaker dropped a single of her own this New Music Friday (April 21), called “Put It On Da Floor.” Upon hearing the track’s lyrics, Leray felt personally attacked and called her contemporary out for body shaming her. At the same time, the Boston native asserted that she and Latto had never previously met, though those claims have since been debunked as online sleuths pointed out that they once appeared in a music video together.

After nearly sparking more beef with Iggy Azalea, and facing backlash for going after Latto, the Trendsetter opted to admit she was perhaps being dramatic. “Maybe I overreacted, idk,” she tweeted on Saturday morning. “End of the day. Don’t say my name for clicks and likes. [Especially] if we don’t speak or communicate. I’m not a big blunt small blunt. Don’t compare me to nada. Mention bitches you actually beef with. Earlier this afternoon, the “Anxiety” artist dropped off a salacious video on her feed, which finds her petite booty bouncing in a little black dress. Leray’s face doesn’t make an appearance in her clip, but many viewers would likely be too distracted by her behind to notice if it did. In her caption, she wrote “BIHHH I GOT BOPSSSS 🆑🆑🆑🆑👀👀👀🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” before hinting that she’s seemingly got a single coming our way on April 27.

As she twerks for the camera, a preview of Coi Leray’s upcoming release plays. “I pull up the show stops / They eyein’ like cyclops,” she cleverly rhymes. “These bitches mad / They blame it on TikTok / Yeah, these bitches mad / I got all these big bops.” From the sounds of things, the Boston-born baddie is tired of people crediting her success to regularly going viral on the app, and she’s using her music as an outlet to channel her frustrations. But the other question is, why not? Why is Leray starting beef over a nearly 3-year-old song?

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea recently had to clear up whether she was beefing with Coi, too. When Iggy tweeted about not understanding people’s endless arguments over nothing online, many thought she referred to the Latto beef. Latto‘s latest single, “Put It On Da Floor” has the whole internet talking. On the scorching track, she seems to fire shots at some of her peers in the rap game — some subliminally and some by name.

On one line in particular, Latto seemingly comments on “Players” rapper Coi Leray‘s body, rapping “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray / B*tches like to run their mouths but I’m the type to run the fade.”

Leray caught wind of the line and had some words for Latto.

“Latto bye,” she said in a tweet, here you go talking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY. Lol like seriously. Out of all things. Lmaooo ya blunt my size? Lmaooo this sh*t is never-ending,” she said in a tweet.

While Leray and several other fans interpreted the line as a diss, some didn’t think too much of it. One fan noted that she used a similar line on Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” Remix.

“Dropped a hundred on a pennant, that sh*t big as Lola / They can’t stand to see me winnin’, so they blame payola,” she raps on her verse.

Regardless, it seems that Leray ended up brushing it off by the end of the day.

The internet is trying to drag Iggy Azalea into a feud with Coi Leray. However, the Australian simply isn’t having it. After the latter artist called out Latto for seemingly body shaming her on the 777 hitmaker’s New Music Friday release of the week, sleuths quickly noticed a post from Azalea’s account seemingly reacting to the situation. “Sometimes the shit y’all fight about on here is so… ehhhh? Tiresome,” the mother of one previously wrote late on Thursday (April 20) evening.

Minutes after the post went up, hate comments obviously began to pour in. Coi Leray Helps RAYE “Flip A Switch.” On Must-Hear New Remix

If we had to crown a queen of remixes so far this year, it would undoubtedly be Coi Leray. Not only did she give fans several versions of her smash hit single, “Players,” which first landed in January, but we’ve also heard the Boston native lend her vocal talent to a lot of other artists in recent weeks. At the end of March, it was Sabrina Carpenter’s “Nonsense (Remix),” and now, she’s helping out British singer RAYE with an updated edition of “Flip A Switch.”

The song previously arrived on the foreign talent’s debut album, My 21st Century Blues a few months back, and quickly became a fan favourite. On the chorus, RAYE sings, “Flip a switch on a prick, then I / Come alive in the nighttime / In the club, sippin’ Hennessy / And tell him I’m dead if he callin’ me.” The infectious beat was produced by Mike Sabath, Dj Genius, and the 25-year-old singer-songwriter herself.

RAYE Taps Coi Leray to Remix “Flip A Switch.”

As expected, Leray chiefly brightens up the remix with her bold energy.
