Victoria Monét Is In The Holiday Spirit As She Releases ‘Jaguar II Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements’

Following the release of 2020’s Jaguar, Victoria Monét unveiled A Jaguar Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements. Well, last year, she shared Jaguar II, and thankfully, it turns out the holiday-themed follow-up is a tradition: Today (December 11), Monét released Jaguar II Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements.

Created alongside composer Maurice “Pirahnahead” Herd, this album puts Monét’s vocals aside in favor of a purely instrumental experience. It’s certainly a compelling listen as the center of attention, but given its modernized holiday aesthetic and lack of vocals, it should also be one heck of a party background music soundtrack this holiday season. Also, you can’t go wrong when an album has song titles like “Stop (Askin Me 4Gifts).”

Plies Is Over Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

For many, Mariah Carey’s 1994 hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” remains a holiday staple. Some, on the other hand, feel that it’s been overplayed. Plies finds himself in the second category, recently airing his frustrations with the classic with his Instagram followers. In a new clip, the Florida-born performer tells fans that his mother can’t get enough of the song. Unfortunately, he was nothing short of fed up.

“I’m at my motherf*ckin’ momma’s house. Do you hear this?” he begins, the Christmas banger blasting in the background. “I’m sick of hearing this motherf*ckin’ song, ma. Alright?” He continues, revealing that while he’s still a Mariah fan, he could do without the famous track, which managed to rake in a whopping 23.7 million streams on December 24 this year alone.

Plies Has Had Enough

“I love motherf*ckin’ Mariah just like everybody else loves her. But there ain’t no goddamn way you want me to believe this is the only motherf*ckin’ Christmas song Mariah Carey got… no motherf*ckin’ way Mariah wanted nobody that motherf*ckin’ bad.” Luckily for him, Christmas has now come and gone, which hopefully means he won’t have to endure the hit for at least another year. Plies is no stranger to revealing his wild holiday takes, however, as seen last month.

On Thanksgiving, the rapper shared a clip of himself injecting his holiday turkey, which he thought was reminiscent of a BBL. “This sh*t reminded me of a BBL job!” he joked. “I Think I Just Might Have Cracked The Code!!!” he added. “I’m Over Here Injecting My Turkey & All I’m Thinking About Is This How They Do The ‘BBL’s’????” What do you think of Plies’ claiming that Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” is overplayed? Do you agree with him, or are you still a fan of the track? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Lil Tjay And Fivio Foreign Put A Drill Spin On “Last Christmas”

Christmas music, whether you love it or hate, it makes the holiday a little extra special. It adds a sense of warmth, and nostalgia, and can maybe turn the Scrooges into Christmas carolers. Some rappers and hip-hop-adjacent artists have been putting their spin on some classics over the years. Others are trying to create unique holiday-themed tracks. Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign fit into the first category in this scenario, though.

Both New Yorkers and common collaborators, the two have come together for a short but emotionally-driven single. For this one, Tjay has taken direct inspiration from Wham! “Last Christmas” from 1984 has firmly become a Christmas staple. However, these drill rappers wanted to spruce it up a bit.

This spiced-up Christmas jingle samples the most iconic lines from Wham! They open up the track and have Chipmunk vocals instead. Tjay and Fivio rap about treating a girl right and making it in the music industry. Its standard fare from these two and it is a lackluster effort. However, it is gaining some traction on YouTube. “Last Christmas” is number 10 on trending with nearly 400,000 views already.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Last Christmas,” by Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign? Is this one of the best holiday-themed rap tracks, why or why not? Giveon Offers His Rendition Of “The First Noel”

Still one of the more unheralded R&B singers of the past few years, Giveon is back to ring in the holiday season. He does so by bearing his version of one of the most well-known Christmas tunes of all time, “The First Noel.” Whether you groan at the sound of these songs or have them on repeat well after the holiday, you cannot deny that the music makes it a more jolly time of year. Honestly, we were wondering when Giveon was going to release some Christmas songs.

The man possesses one of the most deep and beautiful voices in the genre. It has been quite some time since Giveon has released any new material. In fact, over a year has passed by with nothing in sight. The last time we heard the Californian was for a single from the soundtrack of the film Amsterdam.

He did nab another Drake feature for that record, though. When it comes to albums June 24, 2022, was the last day we got to hear a full project. That was Give Or Take, a 15-track solo offering. Hopefully, this version of “The First Noel,” is a sign for a collection of Christmas carols.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single from Giveon, “The First Noel?” Is this the best version of this all-time great Christmas song? When do you start listening to Christmas music? One of our favorite seasons is the Christmas Holiday songs and we love a good Christmas song. R&B singer Ciara just dropped the remix to her single ‘Better Thangs’.

“I really don’t need much. But if a girl could dream… I would dream a little something like this” is how Ciara opens her take on a holiday classic.

And with the Instagram caption “Hey Santa Zaddy”, Ciara and her Santa inspired cowboy hat just gave us another holiday jingle that would make Mariah blush.
