Tyler, The Creator addressed his appearance on Jerrod Carmichael’s new reality series during his performance at Coachella over the weekend. In the episode, the comedian revealed that he had romantic feelings for Tyler, but that he rejected him. On stage at the iconic festival, Tyler addressed the incident and described it as “terrible.”
“Probably seen my homie tried to f**k me on camera, it was terrible,” he remarked. “I told the n***a ‘no’ and he said, ‘But what about if we filmed it?’ Terrible!” During the premiere of The Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show, Carmichael revealed that Tyler previously called him a “stupid b*tch” when he first revealed his feelings. Despite that rejection, Carmichael invited Tyler on the show to discuss the matter at length.

Sitting down with Tyler, Carmichael said: “It’s because I told you I had feelings for you, and we didn’t talk about it, ever. That was, like, weird. I don’t know if it was just too awkward to talk about or just too… I don’t know. I feel like you left me hanging out there a little bit.” Tyler responded: “I did,” while laughing. “Yeah. I did. And I think I just, like, brushed it off. Getting news like that and then avoiding it is a way to avoid change.” He added that he views Carmichael as a “brother.”

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift had quite a lot of time at Coachella this weekend. Coachella was a star-studded affair, and fans went wild when the “it” couple joined the party. Amongst the crowds and musical performances, Kelce and Swift were pictured together partaking in the iconic music festival. Travis and Taylor attended the Neon Carnival and danced to Jack Antanoffs band bleachers performance, dancing the night away. Travis was decked out in quite the Coachella fit, rocking a Happy Gilmore hat with bold striped pants. Taylor Swift was decked out in all-black.

Travis Kelce decided he could give Taylor Swift a boost, and he did just that. Kelce Picked up the pop star pretty effortlessly. He showed off his NFL strength, and fans couldn’t believe it. It’s another lowkey viral moment from the couple who took over the NFL narrative last season. All in all, the First Coachella weekend looked like a vibe for Kelce and Swift, who didn’t mind being caught candidly by fans.
Kelce and Swift are both in the off-season, so to speak. Travis is resting up before NFL training camp starts back up, and Swift is taking a break from music. Many detractors believe the relationship is just one big promo for the couple. Here we are, one Super Bowl and Coachella outing later, and the relationship is looking like the real deal. Even if they were genuine, their relationship ended up being a big win for everyone involved. As cynical as it may have seemed to some people, Kelce and Swift have proven to be pretty genuine, even in the public eye. We should probably prepare for even more Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift appearances this summer.
Ice Spice is easily one of the biggest up-and-comers we have seen in a long time. Overall, her natural charisma and looks have certainly made her a fan-favorite. Furthermore, she has gotten co-signs from some massive pop stars. Taylor Swift has been a mentor of sorts, while she is also now friends with Lana Del Rey. Not to mention, she has secured features from Nicki Minaj, all while appearing on the Barbie soundtrack. Needless to say, Spice has everything going for her, including a recent performance at Coachella.
Coachella is one of the biggest if not the biggest music festival in the world. Having said that, getting a spot on the bill is no small task. Well, she pulled it off, and her set has been garnering quite a bit of praise. Following her set, Spice got to hang out with the likes of Taylor Swift and her beau, Travis Kelce. In fact, they were all in the VIP pit together during a performance, and some of the scenes are going viral. Mostly because of Spice’s actions, although Travis and Taylor were definitely in their own little headspace.
As you can see above, Spice was smoking weed in the crowd, right next to her friends. Kelce and Swift were unfazed, however. Instead, they were getting lovey-dovey and engaging in PDA for everyone to see. One could even say that Spice was third-wheeling a bit here. Although it is Coachella, that kind of thing happens all of the time. People do their thing at these festivals, and everyone seemed to be having a fantastic time.

50 Cent was loving Kesha’s decision to diss Diddy at Coachella. He shared a clip of her performance on Instagram, Sunday, and joked that Diddy will theorize he told her to do so. While performing her iconic track, “TiK ToK,” with Reneé Rapp, she changed up the lyric: “Wake up in the mornin’ feelin’ like P Diddy.” Instead, she replaced the final words with, “f*ck P Diddy.”
“LOL she said [middle finger emoji] Fvck P DIDDY, HAHAAHAHA [eyeball emoji] PUFFY LIKE 50 TOLD HER TO SAY THAT!” 50 wrote on Instagram. Fans shared plenty of laughs in the comments section. “The devil works hard, but 50 works even harder,” one user wrote. Another commented: “Bc nobody wants to wake up in the morning feelin’ like P Diddy right now.”

It wasn’t the first time Kesha had changed the lyrics either. Following Cassie’s lawsuit back in November, which served as the tipping point for countless more suits in the time since, Kesha sang, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me!” while performing on her Only Love Tour in Oakland. In addition to the lawsuits, Homeland Security agents raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a sex trafficking investigation, last month. Diddy has denied all of the claims against him and has yet to face any charges. His lawyer, Aaron Dyers, labeled the raids on his properties a “gross overuse of military-level force” in a statement at the time.

Tyler The Creator was easily one of the standout sets at Coachella’s Weekend One this year, continuing to cement his status as one of the best live performers working today. Not only did he have an amazing stage set-up and theatrics, plus a really well-rounded setlist and consistently quality performances, but he invited a couple of his famous friends to help him out. Charlie Wilson sang as the Hawthorne native played piano, Kali Uchis came out to give a gorgeous rendition of their hit “See You Again,” and A$AP Rocky turned the crowd up with ease. However, the most surprising guest of the night was Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino. He came out to perform T’s IGOR gem “RUNNING OUT OF TIME” alongside him, and they seemed to have an absolute blast together.
The reason why this was so surprising is because they have relatively few link-ups in the past, and the former Odd Future creative explained that he wasn’t always a fan of Mr. Glover. “I used to hate that n***a,” Tyler, The Creator told the crowd after Childish Gambino left the stage. “Seriously. I don’t know why. I gotta go to therapy to figure it out. Then this n***a put this song called ‘Urn’ out. It was so undeniable, n***a. I was at conflict with myself, ’cause I’m like, ‘F**k! How could a n***a that I hate so much be so good?’ And now, the tables have turned and this n***a barely returns my calls.
“Donald, I f**k with you,” Tyler, The Creator continued for Donald Glover. “Thank you for putting out s**t that exceeds expectations or the perception that n***as like us should make. I love you. Thank you for existing and thank you for coming out. Please give him another round of applause.” For those unaware, their relationship has become more public and amicable over the past few years. Their Regular Show rap battle during the Cartoon Network program’s third season, though, premiered in 2011, which is before “Urn” dropped and thus before Tyler’s epiphany.

Nevertheless, the cover image above is from a 2019 LACMA gala, Glover seemed to mention the “SORRY NOT SORRY” MC during a recent Complex interview, and he also attended the Louis Vuitton designer’s event launching his collection this year. Friday night’s (April 12) headliner was Lana Del Rey. Billie Eilish made a surprise appearance — although the rumor mill was busy earlier in the day, so it really wasn’t much of a surprise — during the set. They performed Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes” and Del Rey’s “Video Games” together. Eilish showered Del Rey with praise, telling the crowd, “This is the reason for half you b*tches’ existence, including mine.” (Eilish later held a surprise Coachella party of her own, where she debuted music from her forthcoming album, Hit Me Hard And Soft.)

Elsewhere on Friday night, Shakira made a she-wolf entrance during Bizarrap’s set. Of course, she performed their Billboard Hot 100 top-10 hit “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” but she really stole the show by announcing her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
Becky G, Arcángel With Peso Pluma
Earlier on Friday, Peso Pluma and Arcángel released the video for “PESO COMPLETO.” It was all a set up for Pluma’s Friday night Coachella set, where Arcángel joined him for the live debut of the song. Becky G also joined Pluma to perform “Chanel.”
Olivia Rodrigo With No Doubt
It had been nearly a decade since No Doubt last performed before the iconic Gwen Stefani-led band reunited for Coachella 2024. The nostalgia-jammed set on Saturday night, April 13, hit all the right notes — including several “Just A Girl” callbacks (as chronicled by Billboard.) But one brand-new element for the ska band was inviting Olivia Rodrigo to the stage, where Rodrigo and Stefani sang “Bathwater.”
Juvenile With Jon Batiste
Jon Batiste is among music’s most ubiquitous collaborators, so he presumably had plenty of options when deciding who to bring out during his first-ever Coachella set. He landed on Juvenile and Willow to perform “Back That Azz Up” and “Be Who You Are,” respectively.
This one is mostly a joke, but we learned in 2023 that we are not allowed to ignore when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appear anywhere. Swift is on her The Eras Tour hiatus, so she did not perform, but she was notably in the crowd (dancing, kissing, singing, swooning) with Kelce for Bleachers and Ice Spice. It is truly Reneé Rapp’s world right now. She was introduced by the OG The L Word cast and brought out Kesha for an updated rendition of “Tik Tok” in which they shouted, “F*ck P. Diddy!”
Kesha was also spotted going down a gigantic slide with Paris Hilton, so that’s fun.
J Balvin has been a part of several notable moments in the past — as he shared on Instagram ahead of his set on Sunday, April 14 — so why stop now? The Colombian supernova was joined by Will Smith for an all-out performance of “Men In Black.” It was perfectly camp.

Justin and Hailey Bieber enjoyed Coachella 2024 from the crowd (and from Hailey’s Rhode pop-up) like everybody else — until Bieber (and Wizkid) made a surprise cameo with Tems on Sunday night for “Essence.” (Wizkid’s “Essence” featuring Bieber and Tems peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 2021.) Bieber’s performance felt especially surprising because he has mostly kept a low profile since canceling his Justice World Tour in February 2023 after several postponements due to health concerns.

21 Savage, ASAP Rocky, And Teezo Touchdown With Doja Cat
Weekend 1’s explosive finale came courtesy of Doja Cat on Sunday.
“This year, you brought a full-size Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton to your headlining set,” Uproxx’s Aaron Williams wrote in his review. “Bless you, you demented genius. You are the best.”
Doja also brought out 21 Savage, ASAP Rocky, and Teezo Touchdown. 21 was there to perform “N.H.I.E.,” his track with Doja from his American Dream album, while Rocky (“URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!”) and Teezo (“MASC“) each helped deliver live debuts from Doja’s Scarlet deluxe album.
The first weekend of Coachella just wrapped up and as usual, it was a feature-packed event. The headliners in particular showed out with Lana Del Rey being joined by Billie Eilish, Tyler, The Creator bringing out Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis, and Doja Cat closing the weekend with 21 Savage. Additionally, A$AP Rocky made appearances during both Tyler and Doja’s sets. But the entire weekend was packed full of guest stars, including Will Smith popping up in a place you probably wouldn’t expect.
Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin performed at the festival on Sunday. He brought out some guests earlier in his set, but had a big finale planned. It was a huge surprise for fans in person and those watching the livestream at home to see Will Smith come out. It wasn’t just surprising that he was there, but what he did while there. The rapper performed his classic soundtrack hit “Men In Black.” The performance included some of the costumes and choreography from the original video and the addition of some new alien background dancers. Despite not having released much new music recently, Smith continues to keep a foot in both the worlds of acting and music. Coachella 2024 wrapped up its first weekend yesterday and Doja Cat was easily one of the best performers. The community of hip-hop fans and attendees seem to think the same, as her wildly creative and avant-garde sets were a major part of her success on stage. The pop rap mega star’s goofy and unapologetic personality has earned a lot of hate online as of late. But you can tell her imagination ran free when it came to putting this show together and fans have not been complaining about it in this case.
Numerous publications such as Variety, Rolling Stone, and Los Angeles Times have been raving about it as well, further hammering it home as one of the best parts of Coachella. One of Doja Cat’s sets that has been making the rounds online since last night has been her performance of “Demons” from Scarlet. People have been drawn to the crazy outfits her background dancers were donning, including Doja’s elongated blonde wig. Also making statements where her fellow performers, as they totally covered in blonde suits that made them look like ungroomed dogs.
As for song itself, “Demons” took on a more orchestral and somehow darker tone than the original. Fans in The Neighborhood Talk‘s IG comment section were loving the choreography and the passionate performance from Doja. “Doja right now is a CLEAR example of why I love this s***! If you can’t perform, if you aren’t in rehearsal, if you don’t have the creative direction you DO NOT love this s***!!!!!!” Another person adds, “Now that’s what you call an artist 10/10 song 10/10 performance.”

Kesha is waking up feeling a little different these days than she did in 2010. In light of the recent allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs (formerly “P. Diddy”), Kesha (who made her appearance alongside Reneé Rapp during the first weekend of the iconic music festival) made a major change to her famous line in the song ‘Tik Tok’ replacing “wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” to “wake up in the morning like f*** P. Diddy.” She also held up her middle finger while doing so.
Kesha also doubled down on her sentiment on Instagram, where she shared a clip of the now-viral video as well as a series of photos from her Coachella experience along with the caption “WAKE UP IN THE MORNING LIKE FUCK P DIDDY” accompanied by two heart emojis.
Last month, Combs’ homes were searched by the Department of Homeland Security as part of a federal investigation into human trafficking and drug crimes. Combs has also been accused of sexual misconduct in five separate lawsuits. He has denied all of the allegations.
In 2014, Kesha sued her former producer Dr. Luke, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2005, as well as physically and verbally tormented her and made threats against her and her family. He countersued for defamation. The case was settled in 2023.
