Saba & No I.D. Deliver New Collab “Back In Office”

Chicago’s Saba is entering a new phase in his career and he’s enlisted No I.D. for some assistance. The Pivot Gang rapper emerged on Wednesday, April 12th with his new single, “Back In Office,” a collaborative effort with the iconic producer. No I.D. pairs his signature drums with electrifying guitar loops that serve as the perfect canvas for the “Come By Way” rapper’s vibrant flows and sharp wordplay.

Saba’s latest single is a refreshing entry in his catalog that finds him puffing his chest and asserting himself as one of the coldest rappers in the game. He weaves through No I.D.’s production with a fiery flow that sets the tone for what’s to come later this year. Though he’s certainly showcased how good of an MC he is in the past, “Back In Office” is one of those songs that will put you on notice if you’ve been sleeping on him. However, it’s also a testament to No I.D’s timeless sound and his ability to find his place with a younger generation of artists from his hometown.

The song is actually part of a “private collection,” signaling that a project could be on the way soon. Though there isn’t a timeline of when that might be, he previously told Apple Music that their project will likely consist of 10 songs. However, No I.D. sent him over 100 beats to choose from. “He was like, ‘You hear that little beat in the background, that’s just number 80 this week, don’t mind me,’” Saba revealed. “So when I got up with him, he told me he did 120 in a two-week span. He was like, ‘I got 120, how many of them you want me to send you?’ I was just like, ‘Bro, I’m about to go on tour, send me all 120.’ I didn’t expect him to actually do it, but he did it.”

It looks like Saba is aiming to deliver another AOTY contender for the second year in a row. Last year, the rapper emerged with Few Good Things, his most successful project to date. The album consisted of 14 songs in total with appearances from Black Thought, Foushée, Krayzie Bone, Smino, 6lack and more. Check out “Back In Office” above.

Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” To Restock: Details

One of the best shoes ever created is none other than the Air Jordan 1 High. This was Michael Jordan’s first-ever signature shoe. Overall, it was a massive part of his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls. Consequently, the “Chicago” colorway became a huge hit. As you can imagine, this colorway was known for its incredible white, red, and black aesthetic. This matched the Bulls’ jerseys perfectly, and to this day, the sneaker is seen as an icon. At this point, nothing will ever take away from that legacy.

Just last year, Jumpman came through with the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago Reimagined,” also known as the “Lost & Found” colorway. What was cool about this shoe is that it took the iconic “Chicago” blueprint, but gave it a bit of a twist. That twist in question was a shoe that looked pre-aged. The cuff had a scratchy look to it, almost as if the leather had worn down. Moreover, the midsole was a bit yellow. Ultimately, this is why the shoe got its “Lost & Found” name as it looked as though it had been found in an old and dusty attic.

The release was absolutely massive for Jordan Brand, and there is no doubt that some fans ended up missing out. However, it appears as though sneakerheads will be getting a second chance to cop these. According to Complex, the shoe is going to be dropping on the SNKRS App next week. In fact, Nike has already added the shoe to the app. Although, an exact date has not been given. All we do know is that the shoe will be getting a restock.

Overall, you cannot go wrong with a piece of history like this. The Air Jordan 1 High is one of the best sneakers ever made, and the “Chicago” colorway should be a staple of any collection. Let us know if you plan on taking part in the restock, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from the sneaker world.

Lil Wayne Brings Out Chance The Rapper At Chicago Tour Stop

One of the most exciting things that can happen at a concert is realizing that you’re getting more than you paid for. Moreover, Lil Wayne recently stopped by Chicago, Illinois on his “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour on Sunday (April 9). Not only that, but he brought out special guest Chance The Rapper to perform for his home city, and the energy in the venue was palpable. Furthermore, social media clips online show the two performing their 2016 hit “No Problem,” which landed on Chance’s critically acclaimed album Coloring Book. Even seven years after that collab, the two lyricists still seemed to have a lot of fun reconnecting and putting on a great show for fans.

Of course, that track wasn’t the only time the two crossed over. However, one of their sonic link-ups came through a pretty unorthodox method that Chance The Rapper employed back in 2020. For those unaware, he used to share songs exclusively on his Instagram, one of which featured both Lil Wayne and Young Thug, which is a crazy pairing considering their beef. However, apparently Chance either put two random features together or convinced them to put that aside for a quick and traditionally unreleased loosie.

Also, the Chicago MC thanked Lil Wayne for helping him reach Grammy-winning status, whether for his profile boost or for his guidance in the process. Said gratefulness came as Weezy announced Tha Carter V would finally see the light of day, which was a big moment for both fans and the industry. With that in mind, the two seem to have quite the close relationship. That persisted all the way to a fun performance at Chicago on Sunday’s tour stop.

Meanwhile, Tunechi’s been enjoying a highly successful and also quite intimate tour, as his chosen venues aren’t usually massive stadiums. During his shows, he plays a wide collection of his hits, but especially those from the earlier days of his career. Furthermore, it seems the New Orleans legend wanted to speak to the day ones with this tour, and he received a heap of praise for it. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne.

Are Lil Durk And King Von Related?

People are wondering if Lil Durk and King Von are related. King Von passed away on November 6, 2020. Tribute posts flooded social media. These came from listeners and of course, those who knew him personally. Lil Durk was one of the people who posted one. The caption he used referred to King Von as his “baby bro”. Listeners began to speculate if there was something deeper behind this. Lil Durk is an artist that had very close ties to him. Their relationship was strong outside the booth too.

King Von and Lil Durk were a very well-known pair in the Chicago rap music world. They did not have an official name as a duo. At least, not musically or one that was known by the general public. The two of them never officially dropped a collab project. Durk had been a figure in the Chicago music scene for years. Von’s come-up came after his but their come-up journeys were still aligned. They mostly stuck to the music but were also involved in serious criminal situations.

Their verses are a product of the things they grew up around. They have both shared many situations in their music that were a part of their upbringing. Many of these situations were still around them as adults. Multiple artists have spoken out against the type of music they made. The argument is that someone has to share their experiences with the world. Also, the situations happened in the past and they have moved past them. They did not want to encourage people to do the things they used to do.

Lil Durk and King Von were involved in a criminal case together. The situation was quite complex but it resulted in the charges for Lil Durk being dropped. Before this, Lil Durk released an appropriately titled song “Turn Myself In” that had multiple references to the situation. Also amidst the situation, King Von began handing out bundles of cash to residents of Chicago’s O’ Block area. They both handled the reality of the charges they faced differently. The situation brought more ears to their music and more attention to their social media too.

Many people were commenting “Slide for Von” on Lil Durk’s posts after King Von passed. This meant they wanted Durk to get revenge for Von’s death. This is something many people had an issue with. It would only continue the cycle. Rappers have spoken about wanting this cycle to end. Durk responded to the comments in a line by saying the people were trolls. He did not want to jeopardize his career over revenge.

Lil Durk and King Von Have a Long Musical History

Durk and Von have been on multiple songs together. Lil Durk signed him to his label Only The Family in 2018. King Von’s first mixtape, Grandson, Vol. 1 had two appearances from Lil Durk on it. His first album, Welcome to O’Block, also had two appearances from Lil Durk. The Only The Family label released two projects and Durk and Von had a song together on the second one.King’s Von posthumous album, What It Means to be King, has one appearance from Lil Durk. His posthumous mixtape, Levon James, has two.

King Von has made appearances on projects from Lil Durk as well. The first one was on Lil Durk’s album Love Songs 4 The Streets 2. Another Only The Family album, Family Over Everything also has King Von on it. Lil Durk’s album, The Voice is credited as a tribute to King Von. The cover art has both of them on it. Additionally, it also has “Long Live Grandson” on the cover. As I previously mentioned, Grandson, Vol. 1, was the name of Von’s debut mixtape.

Lil Durk and King Von are not related. However, they are both from the same area of Chicago. Throughout the years, they have formed a strong bond. Often people will refer to each other as brothers because of this. The bond may not be blood but it feels like one. Sometimes, the older person in the relationship becomes a mentor. Lil Durk was older than King Von and a mentor of sorts to him. He helped him focus on his music.

Durk referred to Von as “baby bro” because of the relationship they had. Due to their similar music and lifestyle, he also called him his twin. This shows how he feels they mirrored each other. Von was someone Durk was able to uplift. He treated him like a brother. They were not related but family does not always involve blood.

R. Kelly Sentenced To One More Additional Year Of Prison Time In Chicago Case

R. Kelly was sentenced to 20 years in prison in his Chicago case, but most of that time will be served concurrently with his 30-year sentence from his New York conviction. Moreover, the disgraced artist will serve 19 of those 20 years at the same time he’ll serve his other sentence, with one year of this new sentence served after his 30 years in a Chicago federal prison. Furthermore, U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber added just one more year to Kelly’s overall sentence, totaling at 31 years. Also, he was convicted on charges of child pornography and enticement of minors in his Chicago case. On the other hand, his New York sentence came from convictions of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. All these charges, convictions, and sentences are on a federal level.

Furthermore, the sentence is less than what prosecutors and victims sought in the case. They believed Kelly’s crimes constituted jail time for the rest of his life, and wanted the Chicago sentence to come into effect after he served his New York time. “The only way to ensure Kelly does not reoffend is to impose a sentence that will keep him in prison for the rest of his life,” they expressed to Judge Leinenweber in court documents requesting an additional 25 years.

R. Kelly’s 20-Year Sentence Is A Year-Long One In Practice

However, defense attorneys maintained that his existing 30-year sentence already constituted a practically lifetime sentence. For example, they pointed out many of the R&B singer’s past traumas, defending that he was a hurt person who hurt people. Also, they brought up the star’s diabetes condition and made seemingly successful arguments for leniency in his sentencing. In a riskier move, Kelly’s legal team argued that the government sought to convict him on previously acquitted charges, and had mentioned accusations of racial bias compared to other celebrities.

Overall, the judge ruled that the singer’s actions did not merit a sex trafficking sentencing enhancement. Leinenweber disagreed with prosecutors on the claim that Kelly used fear to seduce young girls, even after testimonies. Furthermore, he stated that deterrence is not a valid factor, since Kelly already lost his wealth and status as a result of his deplorable crimes. Regardless of your take on the sentence, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on R. Kelly.

R. Kelly Sentenced to Additional Year in Prison for Chicago Sex Crimes

R. Kelly Vows to Wear GPS, Stay Away From Minors if Released

R. Kelly has been sentenced to one additional year in prison by a federal judge in Chicago. The sentence is on top of the 30 years he was sentenced to in his New York conviction.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the sentence was delivered by U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber on Thursday morning (Feb. 23) at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago.

The conjoined sentence will now keep R. Kelly locked up into his late 70s. The sentence comes five months after a judge found Kelly guilty of three counts of producing child pornography. Prosecutors were seeking a sentence of 25 years, which would have placed him in a life sentence.

Lawyers for R. Kelly argued additional decades would be “overkill,” but victims thought the time would be justified for the damage done to their lives. One Jane Doe prepared a statement, which read, “Robert shattered me. I need closure. And I need Robert in jail for as long as the law will allow.”
