Did Cardi B Diss BIA On GloRilla And Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Wanna Be’ Remix?

The much-anticipated Cardi B-featuring remix of “Wanna Be” is here, and on the track, she’s out for blood.

Did Cardi B Diss BIA On GloRilla And Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be” Remix?

Towards the end of Cardi’s song-opening verse, she raps, “Guess I’m a teacher since you wanna sub me / She did what? Had no idea / Thought she was on the shelf, Ikea / Hope she talk like that when I see her / B*tch, please, don’t nobody wanna be ya.”

The beef between Cardi and BIA seemingly started earlier this year, after Cardi released “Like What (Freestyle).” The song samples Missy Elliott’s 1999 single “She’s A B*tch,” as does BIA’s 2023 song “Fallback.” Some online pointed out the similarity and BIA subtly stoked the flames by acknowledging it. Shortly after, Cardi tweeted, “B*tches make a fool of themselves every single time [crying laughing emoji].. ima show ya something when I release this song tho.”

As for what Cardi’s saying on the “Wanna Be” remix, the line about being “on the shelf” is seemingly a dig at BIA’s relative lack of chart success despite having been active as a rapper for over a decade, with three singles hitting the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Also, when Cardi says “don’t nobody wanna be ya,” it would appear that “be ya” is meant to be a reference to BIA.

GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, And Cardi B Join Hot Girl Forces On The ‘Wanna Be’ Remix

The hottest song of the summer just got even better. Last month, Memphis rapper GloRilla dropped her Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape, which featured the Megan Thee Stallion collaboration, “Wanna Be.” Tonight (May 24) Glo and Meg have shared the remix to “Wanna Be,” which features a new verse from a fellow heavy hitter, Cardi B.

The three first teased the remix during the New York City stop of Meg and Glo’s Hot Girl Summer Tour, during which, Cardi made a surprise appearance. And of course, the three delivered.

Both Meg and Glo’s verses remain the same as their verses on the original version, but Cardi packs a punch with verse of her own.

On Cardi’s verse, she opens the song unleashing the heat, stacking up bars full of clever wordplay and warnings to the opps.

“These b*tches be boring, corny / Pop out, new bag with jewelry / Throwing ass all on my story / I make a photographer horny,” Cardi raps on her verse.

Granted, the original version of “Wanna Be” was already a hit, but Cardi joining in makes her the Blossom to Meg’s Bubbles and Glo’s Buttercup. The Powerpuff Girls of rap are running the game this summer.

You can listen to the “Wanna Be” remix above.

GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion And Cardi B Crush The “Wanna Be (Remix)”

“Wanna Be” was destined to be a smash hit. GloRilla’s cold-blooded flow sounded incredible over the throwback snap beat. Megan Thee Stallion played off GloRilla’s delivery but upping the aggression and ensuring that the song never lost momentum. There wasn’t much that could be done to improve on the original version. Yet, GloRilla and Meg found a way. The two superstars went out and grabbed Cardi B, the superstar who broke out before either of them, to hop on the remix.

There’s always a question of predictability when it comes to a remix. GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion use the same verses as the original, but their placement is what keeps things exciting, as Cardi B kicks off the song with a charismatic sixteen. Cardi recently confirmed that she won’t be putting out an album in 2024, so it’s nice to get on her record whenever possible. She matches the energy of the original two while giving “Wanna Be” her own special touch.

Cardi Steals The Show From GloRilla On “Wanna Be (Remix)”

Cardi might even steal the show. She brings a series of different flows and catchy vocal inflections to the table. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper has the element of surprise, given that fans haven’t gotten a chance to hear her on the beat, and she really uses it to her advantage. It’s a testament to GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion that they manage to keep up once its their turn. There’s also a fun motif where the rappers make reference to Hollywood actors. Cardi B name drops Matthew McConaughey, while Megan Thee Stallion tributes another Magic Mike star, Channing Tatum.

Patti LaBelle Wants Her ‘New Best Friend’ Cardi B On Her Upcoming Album ‘8065’

Even after supposedly canceling her plans to release an album this year, Cardi B remains a hotly demanded guest feature — and not just among hip-hop circles. While fans anticipate her contribution to the GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “Wanna Be” this Friday, a well-established soul legend has expressed interest in her own collab with Cardi. Patti LaBelle, despite being 80 years old, remains pretty well tuned-in to what’s hot on radio right now, and wants to put Cardi on her next album.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly at her 80th birthday party, LaBelle told the outlet about her new album. “It should be out at the end of this year, and it’s called 8065,” she said, explaining, “I’m 80 years young and 65 years in show business.” She told the outlet that she wanted to include Cardi on the album, explaining, “Why not? She’s like one of my new best friends.”

It wouldn’t be the first time that a legend of soul and R&B decided to work with a much younger artist. Dionne Warwick, put out “Nothing’s Impossible” with Chance The Rapper in 2021, just a month before her 81st birthday, while Stevie Wonder also worked with Cordae and Chika in 2020 after turning 70.

GloRilla Announces "Wanna Be" Remix with Cardi B

GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be” is getting an official remix, featuring Cardi B. After hitting X, Glo announced the remix would arrive this Friday.

Cardi B caught fans by surprise at Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour on Tuesday night (May 21), joining the Houston rapper in her headlining debut at Madison Square Garden.

Check out the images below …

The sold-out crowd erupted as Cardi, donning a black corset and thigh-high leather boots, took the stage. Despite some audio issues, she delivered powerful performances of her chart-topping hits “WAP” and “Bongos” alongside Megan. And from the looks of them together, they probably turned the temperature up in the building by about 100 degrees, at least.

Cardi then shifted to her popular “Tomorrow 2” remix, bringing opener GloRilla back on stage. The surprises didn’t end there—Megan and Glo revealed Cardi’s involvement in a forthcoming remix of their track “Wanna Be,” currently at No. 47 on the Hot 100.

The Hot Girl Summer Tour is just starting, with upcoming dates in cities like Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, and Memphis. Meanwhile, speculation about Cardi B’s next album continues. Despite a recent tweet indicating no new album this year, her representative later confirmed a 2024 release is still planned. Cardi emphasized her role in opening doors for new female rappers in a Rolling Stone feature, stating, “These labels weren’t believing in new rap artists until I got signed.”

Just days after the New York Knicks’ playoff exit, Madison Square Garden’s atmosphere transformed from gloom to excitement. Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour brought high-energy performances and celebrated New York’s hip-hop stars, including Cardi B and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Fans, dressed in cowboy hats and Megan-themed attire, filled the arena with anticipation. The show began with GloRilla, whose dynamic performance set a high bar. She delivered hits like “Lick Or Sum” and “FNF (Let’s Go)” with impressive energy, even overcoming a wardrobe malfunction with humor.

GloRilla brought out A Boogie, who performed “Jungle” before returning the stage to her. The energy remained high as Glo seamlessly transitioned back to her hits, setting the stage for Megan’s grand entrance.

In a vibrant red outfit, Megan Thee Stallion commanded the stage, proving her arena-headlining prowess. She performed hits like “HISS” and “Freak Nasty,” demonstrating her lyrical and dance talents, particularly her famed “Megan Knees.” During “Gift And a Curse,” she made a powerful statement on abortion rights, reinforcing her message with her fist in the air.

The concert’s highlight came when Cardi B joined Megan for “Bongos” and “WAP.” Despite technical issues, their chemistry shone through, thrilling the audience. Cardi’s classic verse from “Tomorrow 2” brought GloRilla back on stage, creating a memorable moment of unity among the three female rappers. They announced an upcoming “Wanna Be” remix featuring Cardi, to the crowd’s delight.

Megan continued her solo set with hits like “Stalli Freestyle” and “Body,” encouraging fans to embrace themselves. She closed the show with “Savage,” leaving no doubt about her star power and stage presence.

Megan’s debut as a headliner at Madison Square Garden was a triumph, showcasing her talent and the power of perseverance. The Hot Girl Summer Tour’s kickoff promises more exciting performances as it continues nationwide.

Patti LaBelle Wants To Collaborate With Cardi B On Her New Album

Patti LaBelle is not letting age slow her down. The legendary soul singer turned 80 on May 24, and she has plans to celebrate the milestone birthday with a new album. LaBelle went on Entertainment Tonight to discuss the upcoming release, and she made it clear that one person towers above all the rest when it comes to her dream collaborator list. She wants to get in the studio with Cardi B, of all people, and churn out a hit with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper as soon as possible.

“She’s like one of my new best friends,” LaBelle told the outlet. “To know that [Cardi] was into Patti LaBelle. She’s like my new buddy.” The icon also announced the title and tenative release date for her upcoming, hopefully Cardi-featuring album. “It should be out at the end of this year and it’s called 8065,” she explained. “I’m 80 years young and 65 years in show business.” The notion of Patti LaBelle and Cardi B linking up may seem bizarre at first glance, but the two have actually been friendly in the past.

Patti LaBelle Considers Cardi B A Close Friend

LaBelle praised the rapper during a Tamron Hall appearance in 2023. “I’ve always wanted to meet [Cardi],” she admitted. “And when I met her she said, ‘I’m just so excited to meet you.’ She’s not a diva. She’s a beautiful spirit.” The singer went as far as to refer to Cardi as “baby Patti” after they collaborated on a Good Life/Whipshots marketing partnership. The admiration is mutual. When Cardi was asked about the aforementioned partnership, she admitted to being starstruck. “I feel like I’m not worthy, I just feel so shook,” she told People. “I got to take [inspiration] from [her].”

The irony of a potential Patti LaBelle and Cardi B song is that it would appear on an album by the former instead of the latter. LaBelle has dozens of albums to her name, dating back to the 1960s, but Cardi only has one. The rapper has kept fans waiting for the follow up to her acclaimed debut, Invasion of Privacy. She recently announced that it would not be coming in 2024. “Anyway NO album this year,” she tweeted in May. “I don’t care I’m relaxing this year. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.” Hopefully LaBelle is one of these alleged features.

Summer is still young, but at this point, it looks like if the Song Of The Summer race ended today, the title would go to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.” Still, there’s time to change that, and it might come from the hip-hop world: GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion dropped “Wanna Be” back in April, but now the track is getting a fresh coat of paint via a remix featuring Cardi B.

Cardi confirmed the news on social media today (May 29), announcing that the remix is set for release on Friday, May 31.

This came after the three teased the song on Megan’s Hot Girl Summer tour, on which GloRilla serves as opener. When the trek his New York City’s Madison Square Garden on May 21, Cardi B hit the stage for a few songs. While there, after Meg and Glo ran through “Wanna Be,” Glo teased an announcement before revealing that a Cardi-featuring remix of the song was incoming (as NME notes).

Cardi, meanwhile, recently shared her thoughts on pornography, in response to Candace Owens’ call to ban it, saying, “Ommmggg why yall so against porn ? Is it that bad for yall ? I enjoy it but I don’t know I guess is like a 6 time a year thing .I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it just a little quick one two ….NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY!”

Cardi B Delivers New Video for "Enough (Miami)"

Cardi B and Candace Owens are on opposite sides of the porn debate. Owens hit X and advocated for a porn ban.

“Ban pornography,” Owens wrote. “It is a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men.”

Seeing the message on Instagram, Cardi offered a reply in the comments: “Ommmggg why yall so against porn ? Is it that bad for yall ? I enjoy it but I don’t know I guess is like a 6 time a year thing. I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it just a little quick one two … NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY!”

Cardi B Claps Back at Body Shamers While Eating Pancakes

Cardi B hasn’t just been eating lately, she’s been eating her haters for brunch. The Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram live on Monday morning to address critics who had something to say about her appearance following a weekend performance at Drais nightclub in Las Vegas.

In the video, which was reshared by X user KollegeKidd, Cardi sits in a robe in what appears to be a luxury hotel suite while adding whip cream to a stack of pancakes and (rather sarcastically) saying, “I’m getting body-shamed. I’m so sad.”

“Everybody’s saying that I’m so fat, that my ass is so fat,” she continues with a mock cry as she cuts a bite of pancakes and continuing with “everybody hates me” before she pauses to chew and cut off more pancakes, dipping them into syrup. As she adds more whip cream, she sarcastically asks herself “what am I going to do?” before returning to her brunch.

Most X users were quick to come to Cardi’s defense, stating that she looked great in her performance while others noted that the criticism wasn’t about her weight, but about her reported plastic surgeries, which some claim have led to her body looking “artificial.”

Either way, she didn’t appear to be too upset and made no apologies for rocking a full-length bodysuit while performing over the weekend in Sin City.

Cardi B Reveals How Often She Watches Porn While Pushing Back On Candace Owens’ Call To Ban It

On May 21, often-controversial conservative commentator Candace Owens tweeted, “Ban pornography. It is a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men.” Given that seven of April’s 50 most-visited websites are adult destinations, though, that’s a take that’s sure to spark backlash. Cardi B, for one, didn’t agree.

In the comments of an Instagram post sharing Owens’ tweets (more on the rest of them in a second), Cardi wrote (via TMZ), “Ommmggg why yall so against porn ? Is it that bad for yall ? I enjoy it but I don’t know I guess is like a 6 time a year thing .I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it just a little quick one two ….NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY!”

In another comment, she added, “How ? It should actually teach men how to please a woman.”

Meanwhile, in a follow-up tweet, Owens added, “Pornography was created as a tool of enslavement, not freedom. It was created by the most depraved among our human race to psychologcally introduce homosexuality, pedophilia and incest–religious sacraments to satanists
BAN IT & stigmatize every person who defends or profits from it.” She wrote in another, “I also want to say to the men that struggle with pornography– you were the intended victims of it. Don’t feel ashamed talking about it. Knowing that it’s wrong is a great first step.”

While it may not be surprising that Cardi and Owens don’t agree on this issue, what might be a bigger shock is that they’ve been on the same side before.
