We are just a week out from Bryson Tiller‘s upcoming self-titled fourth studio album. Tonight (March 29), the R&B superstar shared the tracklist for the album.

On the album are collaborations with Victoria Monét and Clara La San, but most of the songs have no features. With a self-titled album, fans are left guessing what the theme could be. But with track titles like “Http://,” “Random Access Memory (RAM),” it appears the album will have a digital theme. Which is fitting, as Tiller hinted that he may begin exploring new avenues.

“I just wanna take a hiatus ’cause my number one passion is video games,” said Tiller in a recent interview with Complex. “I’ve been designing a game for the past three years. I’ve been looking into internships with different companies.”

Tiller’s album was executive produced by himself and Charlie Heat.

Bryson Tiller is known to take long breaks between albums. But after his upcoming self-titled fourth studio album drops next month, he may take a bit longer. In an interview with Complex, Tiller revealed he plans to take a hiatus from music for a while to pursue his passion — video game design.

“This is probably gonna be my last one for a minute,” said Tiller of the upcoming album. ““I just wanna take a hiatus ’cause my number one passion is video games. I’ve been designing a game for the past three years. I’ve been looking into internships with different companies.”

But not to worry, fans. Tiller says he still plans to meet his fans and visit their cities for the time being. However, following tour, he plans to prioritize his family.

“I want to focus on, number one is getting closer to my daughters,” said Tiller. “My oldest daughter is 10 years old now. I’m tired of telling her I gotta work or I gotta be in the studio and then we can hang out.”

Thankfully, this pivot will allow Tiller to spend time with his loved ones, as he’ll be able to work from anywhere.

“The thing about game design, it’s super cool ’cause I can do it from anywhere. I could be next to her while she’s gaming. It’s just what I love to do and it doesn’t feel like work.”

Bryson Tiller Reveals Crazy Story How “Don’t” Remix With Drake Was Derailed By Producer

The excitement around Bryson Tiller is such a refreshing feeling to have. The Kentucky singer and rapper is finally returning with a new studio album in about three weeks. Bryson Tiller will be out April 5 and we have already received some amazing tracks, “Whatever She Wants” and “Calypso.” It will be his fourth project and it is shaping up to be a special self-titled LP. There is a possibility it rivals his debut T R A P S O U L. It will be a tall task, especially with the amount of hits it has. “Don’t” is a great stand-alone Bryson Tiller record, but imagine Drake were to hop on a remix?

Well, that almost happened back in 2015 according to Uproxx. Tiller sat down with Complex to talk about the upcoming record and T R A P S O U L came up too. “Don’t” was naturally discussed and Bryson revealed a crazy story of how Drake was about to remix it. According to the Louisville native, the song’s producer, Epikh Pro, was getting word from a Young Money representative that Drake was interested in the beat. Tiller explains that Epik asked him to sell it back to him, not knowing that the Canadian icon was already talking to Bryson.

Bryson mentioned that the producer, who sold him the beat from SoundClick, never wanted to get on the phone with him. That had to be slightly frustrating because it wound up costing both artists a chance at giving the beatmaker some more recognition. “I was like, ‘Yo, bro just call me.’ And after I told him that, he just spazzed on me. He was like, ‘Nah, I ain’t doing this, man.’ He just blocked his own blessings. It’s crazy,” Tiller said.

What are your thoughts on Bryson Tiller and Drake almost collaborating for a remix of “Don’t?” Do you think the song would have been better or worse with him on it? Is this track still in your rotation today? Are you excited for Tiller’s upcoming self-titled album? Drake Wanted To Remix Bryson Tiller’s Breakout Hit ‘Don’t’ But One Person Ruined It

Nine years ago, Louisville, Kentucky rapper-singer Bryson Tiller exploded into mainstream popularity thanks to his viral 2015 single “Don’t.” The first single from his debut studio album Trapsoul, “Don’t” — which interpolated Mariah Carey’s 2005 hit “Shake It Off” — peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Tiller’s first top-20 hit and making him an “overnight” star. The track earned Tiller comparisons to Drake, the biggest name in hip-hop at the time, and rumors swirled online for some time that the Toronto native and Tiller had a collaboration in the works — perhaps even a remix of “Don’t.”

However, such a remix never actually surfaced, and as Tiller prepares to rollout the release of his self-titled fourth studio album, he revealed why it didn’t happen to Complex‘s Jordan Rose.

“[Drake] wanted to remix it,” Tiller explained. “The guy who produced the song [Chicago producer Epikh Pro], he was selling beats on SoundClick. That was where I got the beat from. I got the beat from him, and he never wanted to get on the phone to talk to me, which was weird. The song had like 100,000 plays, and I was like, ‘Yo, let’s get on the phone. Let’s work on more music.’ And he was like, ‘Yo, somebody from Young Money’s camp reached out to me. They said they like the beat for ‘Don’t’ a lot. I was wondering if you could sell it back to me? Because this could be big for me, bro. What if somebody like Drake or somebody wanted to get on it?’”

“He didn’t even know that Drake was already on my line,” he continued. “So I was like, ‘Yo, bro just call me.’ And after I told him that, he just spazzed on me. He was like, ‘Nah, I ain’t doing this, man.’ He just blocked his own blessings. It’s crazy.”

The two rappers eventually did collaborate on “Outta Time” from Tiller’s third studio album, Anniversary, which culminated five years of effort to release a song together.

Later this year will mark four years since Bryson Tiller released his third album Anniversary. That project at the time was released to celebrate the fifth anniversary of his breakout debut album Trapsoul. Since Anniversary, things have been moderately timid for the Louisville singer who released a Christmas project in 2021, and his three-part Slum Tiller mixtape series with a few singles sprinkled in between. Tiller is about to get a bit more active in the music world as he recently announced his self-titled album and released a new single “Calypso.” As if that wasn’t enough, the singer will also embark on a tour in support of Bryson Tiller.

The Bryson Tiller Tour will kick off North America on May 11 with a show in Portland, Oregon. The run of shows will continue through June 28 with a stop in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and after that, the tour will come to a close after festival appearances at Milwaukee Summerfest, the Calgary Stampede, and the Washington State Fair. The Bryson Tiller Tour will be Tiller’s first tour since 2023’s Back And I’m Better Tour which was his first tour in six years.

It was originally released on the aforementioned platform but got a slight rework for Spotify and other streaming services. With all of this hype around his return, Bryson Tiller has recently done the right thing by bringing out another single “Calypso,”

This might be one of his best songs in recent memory, as the beat from Michael “Black Mic” Williams, che, Bass Charity, and LEO N, is outstanding. The song will get you on your feet and dancing immediately. There are so many layers such as jungle-esque drums, a gorgeous string section, and hard-hitting synths. It sounds busy but everything just melds together seamlessly. Of course, Bryson is bringing his smooth and sensual voice to the table while he tries to win back a love interest. Two singles in and Bryson Tiller is making a run for T R A P S O U L as his best body of work.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Calypso,” by Bryson Tiller? Is this going to be his best tape to date, why or why not? Just like magic, they playin’ our song from way back when we fell in love
She put down her jacket and gave me her phone, said, “I can’t stay, but just hold up”
Movin’ through the crowd, almost dropped my drink, girl, we in LA, that shit ain’t cheap
She said, “You ain’t changed one bit”
Put my hands on her hips and said, “Just focus on me”

Bryson Tiller Announced His Self-Titled Album And Its Release Date With The Alluring ‘Calypso’

It’s been a while since we’ve been able to say this, but… Bryson Tiller has a new album on the way! The Louisville singer took to Instagram today to announce that his fourth album will be a self-titled effort and shared its release date and what appears to be its cover art. Bryson Tiller arrives on April 5 and features 19 songs including the previously released “Outside” and “Whatever She Wants” as well as his latest single “Calypso.” Bryson released the lattermost single together with news about his new album and the record is perfect for the impending summer days.

“Calypso” is an alluring record that recreates the moment Tiller reconnects with an old lover at a party. The song’s infectious production captures the attraction that still exists between Tiller and the unnamed woman as the two are drawn back into each other’s arms when they hear their favorite song play. Even though the night is approaching its end, the two make their few minutes together feel like a lifetime.

In an interview with Complex, Tiller revealed that there is some singing from him on the album, but for the most part, he’s rapping on Bryson Tiller. He also explained why he decided to make his fourth album a self-titled effort. “I just feel like it wasn’t time to try to get people to believe in some new concept or some new world that I’m trying to create for people,” Tiller said “I feel now is the time to just show people what I’m capable of.”

Bryson Tiller will be the singer’s first project since 2021’s A Different Christmas. A year before that, Tiller released Anniversary to celebrate five years since his breakout debut album Trapsoul.

Bryson Tiller Reveals Self-Titled Album With Futuristic AI-Inspired Trailer

Bryson Tiller is one of the most treasured R&B artists of the 2010s decade. His debut project T R A P S O U L is an essential record in that era of the genre. The Louisville, Kentucky product put his all into the production and songwriting. It paid off because it is still being bumped heavily nearly 10 years later. After 2017’s True to Self and 2020’s A N N I V E S A R Y, he went pretty quiet though. But, over the past couple of months, he has been feeding fans on Soundcloud with “Tiller Tuesdays.” For the majority of the year he has been dropping singles and EPs and the audience has been gobbling it up. Finally, they are being rewarded with a full album from Bryson Tiller as he just announced in a trailer.

The “Don’t” hitmaker posted a wild set of visuals on his Instagram just hours ago. It incorporates the use of AI and robots, as Bryson Tiller is building a more enhanced version of himself in lab. He is fully committing to the bit by adding “Dr. Tiller” to his bio. In the caption, he explains how he has been slowly building up to this moment. “⚠ Here’s what I’ve been building for the past 3 years. Looking forward to showing the world what he’s capable of.”

A new single, “Calypso,” is out now as well.
