Sean Kingston Is Out On $100,000 Bond

Sean Kingston posted a $100,000 bond to walk out of jail in Broward County, Florida on Tuesday following last month’s arrest on various charges. CBS News Miami published footage of the singer departing the facility with a white t-shirt covering his face before quickly hopping in a vehicle outside. He stands accused of stealing money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade SUV, and furniture by allegedly defrauding multiple businesses. His charges include grand theft, fraud, criminal use of personal identification, and violation of probation for trafficking stolen property.

Kingston’s attorney, Bob Rosenblatt, says they plan to file a not-guilty plea and are “very confident” in a jury trial. “Well, I don’t know who is claiming they owe money. You know, we were aware of the watches, we are aware of the TV issue,” Rosenblatt stated. “If there are other issues I’m not sure about… It’s a breach of contract. There’s no fraud here. There’s no organized fraud at all.”

Police arrested Kingston’s 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, in the alleged scheme as well. They charged her with conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft, and related crimes. As caught by CBS, she previously pleaded guilty to bank fraud for stealing over $160,000 in 2006. She served over a year in prison at the time.

Amid news of the arrests, Kingston teamed up with NBA YoungBoy for the new single, “Why Oh Why.” He’s best known for his run of hits in the 2000s, with his iconic single, “Beautiful Girls”, peaking atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 2007. That same year, his eponymous debut album reached number six on the Billboard 200. Be on the lookout for further updates on Sean Kingston on HotNewHipHop.

Sheff G Released From Prison After Posting Bond

Sheff G returned to Instagram on Sunday (April 21) to share some heartening news for fans: following a gun possession case and an indictment against him, Sleepy Hallow, and many others on gang allegations, he is now once again a free man. “10 MILL BOND , 1.5 MILL CASH BAIL WAS THE TICKET‼,” he captioned his post. “BAIL PAID SAME DAY ARE YOU DUMB, SHEFF G BACK‼ NEW YORK. WE FUCKING LITTTTT THEY COUNTED ME OUT!! THEY THOUGHT I WAS DONE , PEACE AND LOVE TO YALL LOL. ( WINNERSCIRCLE IM W THE STARS BABY. YOU CAN COME AND EAT W US YOU AINT GOTTA STARVEE BABYYYYYYY #FREETHEGUYZ #BAILOUTBOYZZZZZ.”

Furthermore, the Flatbush drill MC also posted some proof of all this with some screenshots that attested to his $10 million bond and $1.5 million cash bail, posted the same day. In addition, this post also included some videos of his return, which see him in very good spirits all things considered. Overall, it’s heartening to see that Sheff G overcame this part of his life and career at least for now, and hopefully he and his associates stay out of trouble. This is true especially for other rappers, as he recently squashed beef with Nas EBK and Smooky MarGielaa, even performing together at Rikers.

Of course, Sheff G unfortunately faced a lot of accusations about his alleged involvement in gang activity. This is an issue that many folks historically attributed to New York drill, a scene that also has a tough time receiving the proper support and guidance due to this bias. Regardless, it’s unfortunately not something exclusive to rap. Some major changes well beyond the scope of music are necessary to improve the city’s socioeconomic conditions, incentivize good behavior, defend their freedom of speech, and prevent harm and violence as much as possible.

Meanwhile, this release follows that of Sleepy Hallow last year, one that Sheff anticipated by promising his own very soon after. After 14 months, that promise finally came true. We’ll see what these returns to the rap game and to everyday life look like moving forward, and wish them the best path possible. For more news and the latest updates on Sheff G, log back into HNHH.

GloRilla Arrested In Georgia: What We Know

GloRilla’s had the rap game on lock, though she’s unfortunately facing some legal hurdles after police arrested her. The Memphis-based rapper, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was arrested on Tuesday, April 16th after a run-in with the police in Gwinnett County, GA. who took her into custody on a DUI charge, among other infractions. Below, we’ve broken down what we know so far.

According to TMZ, the police in said that Glorilla’s arrest occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at 4 a.m. when police saw a car execute an illegal U-turn at a red light. Immediately, the police flagged down the vehicle out of suspicion of the driver, prompting a traffic stop to investigate further. Police said they detected scents of cannabis and alcohol emanating from the vehicle. GloRilla, who revealed that she was returning from a venue,  later admitted that she consumed alcohol earlier in the evening, though she insisted that she was capable of safely operating a motor vehicle. However, she declined to disclose how much alcohol she consumed.

Field Sobriety Test

As a result of her admission, GloRilla underwent a field sobriety test. The police report states that she exhibited signs of impairment including struggling to maintain balance and following instructions. They claimed that she performed poorly on the eye-follow-test, walk-and-turn, and one-leg balance. However, things took a further turn once GloRilla reportedly refused to undergo a breathalyzer test. Moreover, police noted that GloRilla suffered a wardrobe malfunction as one of GloRilla’s breasts inadvertently became exposed ahead of her arrest.

GloRilla Posts Bond

Fortunately, this episode only lasted a few hours for the Memphis rapper. Police took her into custody on charges of DUI, open container and failure to obey a traffic control device. The rapper had one of her associates pick up her vehicle while police brought her to the station. There, she posted a bond of $1,956 and was later released, per WSBTV.

Response To Arrest

Thusfar, GloRilla hasn’t directly acknowledged her arrest. However, she did post an image of herself with a bottle of Taylor Port after she was released, further angering fans. Though purported mugshots have surfaced online, the rapper has continued to push her single, “Wanna Be” ft. Megan Thee Stallion – her Instagram page is flooded with posts from the single’s inspired challenge. However, GloRilla’s arrest also earned her some trolls, specifically from Damian Lillard’s estranged wife. Kay’la Lillard shared a photo of GloRilla’s mugshot to her Instagram Story, writing, “Free GloLillard #sisterwife.” If you recall, Glo previously tried to shoot her shot at the NBA star, which kind of backfired on her.

What’s Next For Glo?

Hopefully, the chapter surrounding GloRilla’s arrest will all be resolved soon, especially since she is set to hit the road in the coming months. Following the release of GloRilla’s single, “Wanna Be” with Megan Thee Stallion, the Houston rapper announced that she would be hitting the road on the 2024 Hot Girl Summer tour which kicks off in Minneapolis on May 14th. Glo recently dropped off her project, Ehhthang Ehhthang which has continued to impact the charts.

FTO Sett Arrested, Bond Revoked

FTO Sett was reportedly arrested on Tuesday (February 20) in Tennessee after a judge revoked his bond in his drug and gun case. Moreover, according to police records reportedly obtained by XXL, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody following the judge’s order. Specifically, at press time, it’s unclear what prompted the judge to revoke the Memphis rapper’s bond, although it’s definitely in connection to open firearm and drug charges he caught in November of 2022. Perhaps the near future will hold answers for this debacle. Regardless, the court scheduled the “Can’t Be F***ed With” MC’s next court date for March 5.

Furthermore, FTO Sett’s team and the Memphis Police Department hasn’t responded to XXL‘s requests for comment yet. One unconfirmed report floating around social media right now is that he evaded police during a chase in a stolen vehicle with a switch. Also, they apparently caught the Life Of A SlimeCrook artist with stolen firearms and drugs, which could’ve led to the revocation of this bond. Still, a lot of this is mostly speculative, so take it with a grain of salt as more information slowly comes out about this ordeal.

FTO Sett Reportedly Arrested Following Police Chase

However, it seems like FTO Sett himself had a response to all this on his Instagram Story, on which he’s been active as of seven hours ago at press time. “Y’all know I can’t let them trick me out my spot,” the 1017 Records signee expressed on the social media platform. “I know the blogs want to see me lose. I’m good everybody them are old charges that I’m already fighting. Ian gone long I promise I’m right back to the rap soon my fee touch the concrete, if money was the issue I’ll be right back out. See Y’all Soon. SLIMECROOK.”

Young Dolph Trial’s Judge Scorches His Alleged Killer In Court: Watch

The trial for the murder of Young Dolph is meant to be an unbiased and fair one, but that is becoming quite difficult to see these days. However, it’s important to note that it’s for external reasons, so there’s no actual threat of injustice when it comes to the verdict. Moreover, this stems from Shelby County Judge Jennifer Mitchell’s recent reprimanding of prime suspect Hernandez Govan in a Tennessee courtroom this week, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop. For those unaware, he sought a change in his bond terms, as he wants to be able to find employment to provide for his family.

Furthermore, Govan stands accused as the mastermind behind the hit on Young Dolph. The court charged him with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. They arrested the suspect in November of 2022, a year after the rapper’s passing, and granted him a $90K bond and house arrest arrangements. This also follows other developments in this court proceeding, such as authorities seeking jurors outside of Memphis to lessen the risk of bias in the outcome.

Judge Slams Young Dolph’s Alleged Murderer: Watch

Back to Judge Mitchell, though, she chastised Govan for his behavior during this bond and house arrest term. “Mr. Govan, I don’t have to tell you how serious these charges are,” she began her remarks about the Young Dolph case. Mitchell believes he is “playing fast and loose with the court” and disrespected the judicial process. “You’re doing interviews… and the court doesn’t like the fact that you feel free enough to do interviews. You are to not have any interviews with anybody for any reason.”

“Please don’t give me any reason to revoke this bond,” Judge Mitchell concluded her statement. The court will review Govan’s bond conditions on March 1, and it’s unclear how this will impact the rest of the trial. However, there’s already a lot of speculation and dissatisfaction with how this whole thing is panning out, and whether this will really bring the justice the late Memphis legend deserves. Unfortunately for us, we’ll just have to wait and see. On that note, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on the Young Dolph trial.

6ix9ine Secures Bond After Dominican Republic Arrest

Earlier this month, it was revealed that 6ix9ine was arrested in the Dominican Republic for alleged domestic violence. Reportedly, the mother of his on-and-off-again partner, Yailin La Más Viral, filed a complaint against him over an incident that allegedly occurred in December. There was a warrant out for his arrest, prompting him and Yailin, who he’s since gotten back with, to go talk with authorities. They tried to explain that nothing had ever actually taken place to justify the warrant, but regardless, he was arrested.

Despite the circumstances, his lawyer appeared confident that the rapper would be swiftly released. “We trust in God that the truth will prevail, that justice will be done, and Mr. Hernandez will obtain his freedom. We appreciate your concern, prayers, and good wishes,” @elgordoylaflaca told fans at the time. Luckily for them, it looks like their prayers have been answered.

6ix9ine’s Bond Set At 30 Thousand Pesos

Earlier today, it was reported that after Yailin testified and claimed that 6ix9ine had never hit her, he was granted bond. According to De Último Minuto, it’s been set at 30 thousand pesos, which is equivalent to around $1745. Judge Faustina Veloz reportedly felt as though there wasn’t sufficient evidence to justify keeping him in custody ahead of trial. At the end of December, while confirming their split, 6ix9ine accused Yailin of struggling with mental health issues and denied being violent towards her.

“Yailin is not well, she needs help,” he wrote at the time. “Yailin was loved, she was cared for. I’m on probation, I would never lay my hands on a woman, I’m not here to create gossip. I’m here to clear my name and ask that this matter be dealt with responsibly.” What do you think of 6ix9ine securing bond ahead of his trial? Quando Rondo Secures $100K Bond, Will Now Be On House Arrest

Quando Rondo has been through a few legal situations over the past year or so. Overall, a few months ago, Rondo was arrested over an alleged drug trafficking ring. Eventually, he was able to secure $100K bond. However, just a few weeks ago, he was arrested yet again. This time, he was hit with a plethora of drug-related charges. According to HipHopDX, he was accused of a conspiracy to allegedly sell all sorts of different drugs, including weed, cocaine, and even fentanyl.

Since his arrest, his legal team has been working overtime to try and get him free. As his lawyer argued, there is no actual evidence that the rapper sold any of these drugs. However, the prosecution is saying this does not matter. At the end of the day, this is a conspiracy case which means they just need to prove that he was conspiring to sell narcotics. Well, recently, Quando Rondo actually got some good news. A judge decided to grant him $100K bond. Furthermore, he will now get to be on house arrest.

The case is certainly not over, and Quando Rondo has a court date coming up soon. However, this remains a massive win for him as it means he will not have to spend the Holidays behind bars. As for the conditions of his release, well, there are a few. He now has to get rid of his passport, get treatment for substance abuse, and even avoid any of his co-defendants. Needless to say, he has to make sure he keeps his nose clean, or else the consequences could be bad.

Key Vhani Murder Charges: Florida Artist Bonds Out After Alleged Manager Shooting, Hit By Car After Incident

Being a hip-hop fan right now has been great in terms of the new music that’s been dropping lately. However, it’s been equally as exhausting to watch our favourite creatives not only feud with each other, but with the law as well. 2023 in particular has been a huge year for crime, and it only seems to be getting more intense as we move into the final month. Of course, Diddy and Cassie’s quickly resolved legal drama has been the hottest topic of conversation this past week. However, a story coming out of Florida about aspiring rap diva Key Vhani has not caught our attention.

As NBC Miami reports, 27-year-old Kevhani Camilla Hicks was arrested for second-degree murder after allegedly gunning down her manager on October 9. The incident was caught on surveillance camera and clearly shows the accused killer arguing with a man beside a parked car before things turned physical. Two men pin the recording artist down, though she’s able to free herself and walk away. Afterward, Vhani reaches into her purse to pull out a gun and open fire multiple times. As the victim runs and eventually collapses on the roadway, she continues to shoot at him.

Vengeance likely felt sweet, but unfortunately for Hicks, a white sedan struck her before fleeing the scene. Arrest reports state authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert where they found the entertainer suffering from blunt force injuries nearby, and her manager lying on the ground. When speaking to the police, Vhani claimed self-defence, noting that she was in fear for her life.

A judge ultimately granted her a $50K bond and house arrest last week before her trial unfolds. Now that she’s back in the real world, the starlet couldn’t wait to share an update on her Instagram page. “I’m finally home after experiencing something so traumatic and life-changing,” she began. “I have three broken rids and bruises all over so I’m currently healing and getting rest.”

Baby Jamo’s Bond Denied Following Crash Into Capitol Building Barricade

Last week, it was reported that Baby Jamo was arrested after the up-and-coming D.C. rapper crashed a car into a barricade near the U.S. Capitol Building. He was driving a stolen vehicle alongside an associate, Onosetale Okojie. As one can imagine, this has resulted in quite a few criminal charges for the two of them. They’re being charged with “carrying a pistol without a license, unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property of $1,000 or more, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, fleeing from a law enforcement,” and more, per Fox 5.

Police spotted the two 20-year-old men stopped at a green light, and attempted to pull them over out of suspicion that the driver was impaired. They sped away, hitting the barricade in the process. Following the collision, both of them ran from police. Eventually, each of them were caught separately by officers. Authorities claim they found a gun in a nearby flowerbed, which they suspect was dropped there by one of them. They found another gun in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Police report that the vehicle in question was a white Infiniti Q50.

Baby Jamo’s Recent Court Appearance

Baby Jamo was denied bond during a court appearance last week, meaning he’ll remain behind bars for now. “This is just another example of our officers and their vigilance and perseverance putting away dangerous criminals,” Capitol police Assistant Chief Sean Gallagher said of the arrest. “They are constantly working to keep everyone safe throughout the Capitol Complex.”

Baby Jamo’s not the only artist caught up in some legal trouble as of late, however. ASAP Rocky’s also currently embroiled in a court battle against ASAP Relli, who accuses him of shooting at him and threatening his life in 2021. What do you think of Baby Jamo’s bond getting denied? YNW Melly Update: Alleged Victim’s Mom Asks Judge To Deny Rapper’s Bond

Even after spending four long years of his life behind bars, YNW Melly remains persistent in his quest for freedom. The Florida-born rapper was granted a mistrial while facing accusations of double murder earlier this summer. He’s currently remaining behind bars while awaiting his impending retrial. This week, Melly returned to the courthouse to make his case for bond. Understandably, the embattled entertainer wants to be in the company of friends and family until he’s potentially found guilty. Of course, not everyone wants to see the “Murder on My Mind” artist walk free – particularly not the loved ones of his alleged victims.

As AllHipHop reports, Melly had a hearing on Friday (September 15) during which Judge John Murphy overheard his legal team’s request for bail. Seeing as the 24-year-old has been accused of killing his two affiliates, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchhaser, in 2018, it’s reasonable that there’s a reluctance to put a bond in place. Still, Melly has spent all of his 20s so far behind bars, and it’s unclear exactly when he’ll find out his fate. After the alleged murderer and his lawyers made their case, Murphy also heard from one of the victim’s mothers.

YNW Melly’s Court Proceedings Continue After Mistrial

“I don’t think he should be granted a bond at all,” Leondra Phillips, Juvy’s mom, shared in court earlier today. If he doesn’t receive bail, Melly will likely spend the remainder of 2023 in jail. Jury selection is scheduled to begin on October 9. Following that, prosecutors are hoping to have all 12 members seated by November 2.

It’s been a quiet few weeks on YNW Melly’s front. However, earlier this month one of the members of his original jury shared some interesting insight with the media. According to them, the accusations against the rapper aren’t as gruesome as they seem, they’re simply “a really bad situation of being framed.” Read everything they had to say at the link below and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
